1Bio-leaching effects of Leptospirillum ferriphilum on the surface chemical properties of pyrite显示文摘Leptospirillum ferriphilum cultured using different energy sources(either soluble ferrous ion or pyrite) changed the surface properties of pyrite.Cell adsorption,zeta-potential,hydrophobicty,FT-IR spectra and surface morphology were investigated.Adhesion of bacterial cells to the pyrite surface is a fast process.Furthermore,the adsorption of cells grown in pyrite is greater than of cells grown in soluble ferrous ion.The Iso-Electric Point(IEP) of pyrite treated with L.ferriphilum approaches that of the cells themselves.The contact angle of the pyrite surface was observed to decrease due to the surface formation of some hydrophilic substances during bio-leaching.Changes in pyrite surface properties after bacterial treatment support the idea that ferric ion plays an important role and that indirect bio-oxidation is the principal mechanism of pyrite bio-leaching.GU, Guohua SU, Lijun CHEN, Minglian SUN, Xiaojun ZHOU, Hongbo 2010Mining Science and Technology2010,20,2:14
2Spatial and temporal distribution of Neolithic sites in coastal China:Sea level changes, geomorphic evolution and human adaption显示文摘The East China coastal plain is one of the most important Neolithic culture areas in China, where rich archaeological sites including those producing the earliest domesticated rice are observed. It is also a place where landscape has experienced dramatic evolution during the Holocene when both sea level and climate changed, such that it is an ideal place for studying human-environment interaction. This study investigated over 2000 sites of pre-history and Shang and Zhou Dynasties, with 655 of which being Neolithic ages, by using DEM and GIS methods. The results suggest that the spatial and temporal distribution of Neolithic sites has largely been controlled by landscape evolution(particularly changes in coastal line), which ultimately governed by sea level changes. During early Holocene, Neolithic sites sparsely distributed in the intermountain basins of east Zhejiang Province, far from the influence of ocean. Over the period of 9–7 ka, the coastal plain(including the shelf) was largely submerged,only the feet of low hills to the south and southwest of the study area, and islands protruding the estuary, cradled limited number of settlements with characteristic 'maritime components'. At about 7 ka, sea level rise decelerated prominently, while sediments supply in the drainage remained high value, the combination of which led to land formation and propagation. Vast space during this period facilitated the growth of settlements in both size and number. 3Triangulation of red sprites observed above a mesoscale convective system in North China显示文摘The triangulation of red sprites was obtained, based on concurrent observations over a mesoscale convective system(MCS) in North China from two stations separated by about 450 km. In addition, broadband sferics from the sprite-producing lightning were measured at five ground stations, making it possible to locate and identify the individual causative lightning discharges for different elements in this dancing sprite event. The results of our analyses indicate that the sprites were produced above the trailing stratiform region of the MCS, and their parent strokes were located mainly in the peripheral area of the stratiform. The lateral offset between sprites and causative strokes ranges from a few km to more than 50 km. 9Catalytic performance improvement of volatile organic compounds oxidation over MnO_(x) and GdMnO_(3) composite oxides from spent lithium-ion batteries:Effect of acid treatment显示文摘In this work,cathode materials of spent lithium-ion ternary batteries are recovered and used as metal precursor to prepare multi-metal oxides MnO_(x)(SY)and GdMnO_(3)(SY)via combustion method and sol-gel method,respectively.Furthermore,a series of MnO_(x)(SY)-n and GdMnO_(3)(SY)-n(n=0.05,0.10,1.00,4.00,n represents the dilute HNO_(3) concentration)catalysts are fabricated by acid treatment of MnO_(x)(SY)and GdMnO_(3)(SY)samples and catalytic activities of oxygenated VOCs oxidation over all the prepared catalysts are investigated.Catalytic evaluation results show that acid-treated MnO_(x)(SY)-0.10 and GdMnO_(3)(SY)-0.05 samples perform the optimum VOCs removal efficiency respectively,which may be attributed to their obvious enhancement of physicochemical properties.In detail,Mn O_(x)(SY)-0.10 and GdMnO_(3)(SY)-0.05 samples exhibit the larger specific surface area,bigger amount of surface high-valence metal ions(Mn^(4+),Co^(3+),Ni^(3+)),more abundant adsorbed oxygen species and better low-temperature reducibility,which can play a crucial role in the significant improvement of VOCs oxidation.In situ DRIFTS results imply that the possible main intermediates are-OCO,-COO and-C-O species produced during VOCs oxidation.Possible by-products are further determined via TD/GC-MS analysis.Mingming Guo Lizhong Liu Jia-nan Gu Hongbo Zhang Xin Min Jianxing Liang Jinping Jia Kan Li Tonghua Sun 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,6:1

19NAT10 promotes cell proliferation by acetylating CEP170 mRNA to enhance translation efficiency in multiple myeloma显示文摘Multiple myeloma(MM) is still an incurable hematologic malignancy, which is eagerly to the discovery of novel therapeutic targets and methods. N-acetyltransferase 10(NAT10) is the first reported regulator of mRNA acetylation that is activated in many cancers. However, the function of NAT10 in MM remains unclear. We found significant upregulation of NAT10 in MM patients compared to normal plasma cells, which was also highly correlated with MM poor outcome. Further enforced NAT10 expression promoted MM growth in vitro and in vivo, while knockdown of NAT10 reversed those effects. The correlation analysis of acetylated RNA immunoprecipitation sequencing(ac RIP-seq) and ribosome profiling sequencing(Ribo-seq) combined with RIP-PCR tests identified centrosomal protein 170(CEP170) as an important downstream target of NAT10. Interfering CEP170 expression in NAT10-OE cells attenuated the acceleration of cellular growth caused by elevated NAT10. Moreover,CEP170 overexpression promoted cellular proliferation and chromosomal instability(CIN) in MM.Intriguingly, remodelin, a selective NAT10 inhibitor, suppressed MM cellular growth, induced cellular apoptosis in vitro and prolonged the survival of 5TMM3VT mice in vivo.
