1Phytophthora sojae Effector PsAvh240 Inhibits Host Aspartic Protease Secretion to Promote Infection显示文摘Plants secrete defense molecules into the extracellular space (the apoplast) to combat attacking microbes. However, the mechanisms by which successful pathogens subvert plant apoplastic immunity remain poorly understood. In this study, we show that PsAvh240, a membrane-localized effector of the soybean pathogen Phytophthora sojae, promotes P. sojae infection in soybean hairy roots. We found that PsAvh240 interacts with the soybean-resistant aspartic protease GmAP1 in planta and suppresses the secretion of GmAP1 into the apoplast. By solving its crystal structure we revealed that PsAvh240 contain six a helices and two WY motifs. The first two a helices of PsAvh240 are responsible for its plasma membrane-localization and are required for PsAvh240's interaction with GmAP1. The second WY motifs of two PsAvh240 molecules form a handshake arrangement resulting in a handshake-like dimer. This dimerization is required for the effector's repression of GmAP1 secretion. 2Conservation of Jiaohe ancient earthen site in China显示文摘Earthen sites,which are mainly made of earth,are cultural heritages with historical,artistic and scientific values.Many extremely valuable earthen sites have been preserved in the arid areas in China.The earthen site of Jiaohe Ancient City is one of the earliest National Protected Important Cultural Heritage Sites.The Jiaohe Ancient City site exhibits all kinds of deteriorations,which can be found in the earthen sites in arid environments in China.Through a case study of the Jiaohe ancient earthen site,we present in this paper the comprehensive conservation technologies,including the mud bricklaying and reparation,wooden rod anchorage,crack grouting,surface potassium silicate(PS) penetration consolidation,and suspended steel beam ceiling,etc.Results of this case study showed that better conservation effects could be achieved by selecting proper PS penetration and crack grouting processes based on the deterioration characteristics of the earthen sites.The technology of mud bricklaying and reparation was also an effective method for preventing the earthen body from collapsing.Compared with traditional conservation technologies,the suspended steel beam ceiling technology could effectively reduce the negative impacts to the original state of the earthen site.As for unstable cliffs,a new method using composite anchor rod of bamboo and steel with massive loose earth was applied.Deformation monitoring and temporary supports were critical and indispensable measures for the safe of site conservation projects.Through years of monitoring and practical operation at the Jiaohe ancient earthen site,deterioration at the site has been effectively controlled.Zuixiong Li Xudong Wang Manli Sun Wenwu Chen Qinglin Guo Huyuan Zhang 2011Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2011,3,3:6
3Real-time detection of individual secondary organic aerosol particle from photooxidation of toluene using aerosol time of flight mass spectrometer显示文摘Photooxidation of the aromatic hydrocarbon toluene and its subsequent reactions were carried out using UV-irradiation of toluene/CH3ONO/NO/air mixtures in a home-made smog chamber. The secondary organic aerosols could be formed after those oxidation products of semi-volatile or- ganic compounds were partitioned between gas phase and particle phase. The aerosol time of flight mass spectrometer (ATOFMS) was used to measure size and molecular composition of individual secondary organic aerosol particle. 4Numerical Simulation Study on Cooling Characteristics of a New Type of Film Hole显示文摘A new type of film cooling hole with micro groove structure is presented in this paper.Based on the finite volume method and the Realizable k-εmodel,the film cooling process of the hole in a flat plate structure is simulated.The surface temperature distribution and film cooling effect of different film cooling holes were analyzed.The effects of micro-groove structure on wall attachment and cooling efficiency of jet were discussed.The results show that under the same conditions,the transverse coverage width and overall protective area of the new micro-groove holes are larger than those of the ordinary cylindrical holes and special-shaped holes.Compared with ordinary holes,the new micro-groove holes can better form the film covering on the surface and enhance the overall film cooling efficiency of the wall.For example,when the blowing ratio M=1.5,the effective coverage ratio of micro-groove holes is 1.5 times the dustpan holes and is 8 times the traditional cylindrical holes.It provides reference data and experience rules for the optimization and selection of advanced cooling structure of high performance aero-gas engine hot-end components.GUO Chunhai WANG Bin KANG Zhenya ZHANG Wenwu ZHENG Huilong 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,1:4
5Comprehensive Marine Observing Experiment Based on High-Altitude Large Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(South China Sea Experiment2020 of the “Petrel Project”)显示文摘In collaboration with 12 other institutions, the Meteorological Observation Center of the China Meteorological Administration undertook a comprehensive marine observation experiment in the South China Sea using the Yilong-10 high-altitude large unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV). The Yilong-10 UAV carried a self-developed dropsonde system and a millimeter-wave cloud radar system. In addition, a solar-powered unmanned surface vessel and two drifting buoys were used. The experiment was further supported by an intelligent, reciprocating horizontal drifting radiosonde system that was deployed from the Sansha Meteorological Observing Station, with the intent of producing a stereoscopic observation over the South China Sea. Comprehensive three-dimensional observations were collected using the system from 31 July to2 August, 2020. This information was used to investigate the formation and development processes of Typhoon Sinlaku(2020). The data contain measurements of 21 oceanic and meteorological parameters acquired by the five devices, along with video footage from the UAV. The data proved very helpful in determining the actual location and intensity of Typhoon Sinlaku(2020). The experiment demonstrates the feasibility of using a high-altitude, large UAV to fill in the gaps between operational meteorological observations of marine areas and typhoons near China, and marks a milestone for the use of such data for analyzing the structure and impact of a typhoon in the South China Sea. 6Challenges and needs for China to eliminate rabies显示文摘In China,rabies is a significant public health concern where dogs remain the main reservoir of disease transmission to humans;rabies-related mortality ranks second in the world.We compiled all published articles and official documents on rabies in China's Mainland to examine challenges and needs to eliminate rabies in the country.The Chinese authorities have identified rabies as a priority,recognized rabies control in dogs as key to control rabies in humans and required intersectoral collaborations.Efforts have been made to respond effectively to the latest re-emergence of rabies,which peaked in 2007 with>3,300 cases.Despite these outcomes and the increasing volume of publications and regulations in the recent years,our review points to some major information gaps to improve rabies control activities and envisage elimination program.An emphasis on laboratory or pathogen-associated and basic epidemiology research in the literature has contrasted with the absence of information to monitor various systems in humans and animals(e.g.quality of surveillance,response and post-exposure prophylaxis).Information is also lacking to appropriately inform policymakers(e.g.economic disease burden,impact of policies)and assist program managers(e.g.comprehensive and strategic guidance for cost-effective prevention and control activities,public education and dog population management).In conclusion,strategic planning is needed to provide a sense of direction,demonstrate feasibility of elimination in China,and develop a research agenda,addressing country’s operational needs and constraints.The planning should be a multisectoral effort.Wenwu Yin Jie Dong Changchun Tu John Edwards Fusheng Guo Hang Zhou Hongjie Yu Sirenda Vong 2013Infectious Diseases of Poverty2013,2,1:3
7Mitochondrial Genome of Callus Protoplast Has a Role in Mesophyll Protoplast Regeneration in Citrus: Evidence From Transgenic GFP Somatic Homo-Fusion显示文摘Protoplast fusion has great potential in citrus improvement. Although citrus mesophyll protoplasts usually cannot divide and regenerate,symmetric protoplast fusion of embryogenic callus protoplast + mesophyll protoplast sometimes results in the regeneration of mesophyllparent-type cybrids. It suggested that mitochondrial DNA(mt DNA) from protoplasts of embryogenic callus parent plays an important role in stimulating division and regeneration of mesophyll protoplasts. Herein, somatic fusion was conducted via electrofusion between callus protoplasts isolated from Valencia orange [Citrus sinensis(L.) Osbeck] cell suspension cultures and transgenic GFP-tagged mesophyll protoplasts from the same genotype, i.e. transgenic Valencia orange plants containing the green fluorescent protein(GFP) gene, in an effort to elucidate whether mt DNA of callus line could stimulate the division and regeneration of mesophyll protoplasts from the same genotype. Two embryoids and one plantlet with GFP expression were successfully obtained and subsequent ploidy analysis by flow cytometry indicated that they were all diploids. The regenerated diploid embryoids and plantlet with GFP expression could be considered as ‘cybrids' with mt DNA from the callus protoplasts of Valencia orange. 8Structural variation and parallel evolution of apomixis in citrus during domestication and diversification显示文摘Apomixis,or asexual seed formation,is prevalent in Citrinae via a mechanism termed nucellar or adventitious embryony.Here,multiple embryos of a maternal genotype form directly from nucellar cells in the ovule and can outcompete the developing zygotic embryo as they utilize the sexually derived endosperm for growth.Whilst nucellar embryony enables the propagation of clonal plants of maternal genetic constitution,it is also a barrier to effective breeding through hybridization.To address the genetics and evolution of apomixis in Citrinae,a chromosome-level genome of the Hongkong kumquat(Fortunella hindsii)was assembled following a genome-wide variation map including structural variants(SVs)based on 234 Citrinae accessions.This map revealed that hybrid citrus cultivars shelter genome-wide deleterious mutations and SVs into heterozygous states free from recessive selection,which may explain the capability of nucellar embryony in most cultivars during Citrinae diversification.Analyses revealed that parallel evolution may explain the repeated origin of apomixis in different genera of Citrinae.Within Fortunella,we found that apomixis of some varieties originated via introgression.In apomictic Fortunella,the locus associated with apomixis contains the FhRWP gene,encoding an RWP-RK domain-containing protein previously shown to be required for nucellar embryogenesis in Citrus.We found the heterozygous SV in the FhRWP and CitRWP promoters from apomictic Citrus and Fortunella,due to either two or three miniature inverted transposon element(MITE)insertions.A transcription factor,FhARID,encoding an AT-rich interaction domain-containing protein binds to the MITEs in the promoter of apomictic varieties,which facilitates induction of nucellar embryogenesis.This study provides evolutionary genomic and molecular insights into apomixis in Citrinae and has potential ramifications for citrus breeding.Nan Wang Xietian Song Junli Ye Siqi Zhang Zhen Cao Chenqiao Zhu Jianbing Hu Yin Zhou Yue Huang Shuo Cao Zhongjie Liu Xiaomeng Wu Lijun Chai Wenwu Guo Qiang Xu Brandon S.Gaut Anna M.G.Koltunow Yongfeng Zhou Xiuxin Deng 2022National Science Review2022,9,10:1
9The Phytophthora effector Avh241 interacts with host NDR1-like proteins to manipulate plant immunity显示文摘Plant pathogens rely on effector proteins to suppress host innate immune responses and facilitate colonization.Although the Phytophthora sojae RxLR effector Avh241 promotes Phytophthora infection,the molecular basis of Avh241 virulence remains poorly understood.Here we identified non-race specific disease resistance 1(NDR1)-like proteins,the critical components in plant effector-triggered immunity(ETI)responses,as host targets of Avh241.Avh241 interacts with NDR1 in the plasma membrane and suppresses NDR1-participated ETI responses.Silencing of GmNDR1s increases the susceptibility of soybean to P.sojae infection,and overexpression of GmNDR1s reduces infection,which supports its positive role in plant immunity against P.sojae.Furthermore,we demonstrate that GmNDR1 interacts with itself,and Avh241 probably disrupts the self-association of GmNDR1.These data highlight an effective counter-defense mechanism by which a Phytophthora effector suppresses plant immune responses,likely by disturbing the function of NDR1 during infection.Bo Yang Sen Yang Baodian Guo Yuyin Wang Wenyue Zheng Mengjun Tian Kaixin Dai Zehan Liu Haonan Wang Zhenchuan Ma Yan Wang Wenwu Ye Suomeng Dong Yuanchao Wang 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,7:1

11Innovations and stepwise evolution of CBFs/DREB1s and their regulatory networks in angiosperms显示文摘The C-repeat binding factors/dehydrationresponsive element binding protein 1 s(CBFs/DREB1 s)have been identified as major regulators of cold acclimation in many angiosperm plants.However,their origin and evolutionary process associated to cold responsiveness are still lacking.By integrating multi-omics data of genomes,transcriptomes,and CBFs/DREB1 s genome-wide binding profiles,we unveil the origin and evolution of CBFs/DREB1 s and their regulatory network.Gene collinearity and phylogeny analyses show that CBF/DREB1 is an innovation evolved from tandem duplication-derived DREBⅢgene.A subsequent event of e-whole genome duplication led to two CBF/DREB1 archetypes(CladesⅠandⅡ)in ancient angiosperms.In contrast to cold-insensitivity of Clade I and their parent DREBⅢgenes,CladeⅡevolved a further innovation in cold-sensitive response and was stepwise expanded in eudicots and monocots by independent duplications.In geological time,the duplication events were mainly enriched around the Cretaceous-Paleogene(K-Pg)boundary and/or in the Late Cenozoic Ice Age,when the global average temperature significantly decreased.Consequently,the duplicated CBF/DREB1 genes contributed to the rewiring of CBFs/DREB1 s-regulatory network for cold tolerance.Altogether,our results highlight an origin and convergent evolution of CBFs/DREB1 s and their regulatory network probably for angiosperms adaptation to global cooling.Yuqi Nie Liangyu Guo Fuqiang Cui Yirong Shen Xiaoxue Ye Deyin Deng Shuo Wang Jianhua Zhu Wenwu Wu 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,11:1

13Non-pharmaceutical interventions for COVID-19 reduced the incidence of infectious diseases:a controlled interrupted time-series study显示文摘Background Non-pharmaceutical interventions(NPIs)have been implemented worldwide to suppress the spread of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).However,few studies have evaluated the effect of NPIs on other infectious diseases and none has assessed the avoided disease burden associated with NPIs.We aimed to assess the effect of NPIs on the incidence of infectious diseases during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and evaluate the health economic benefits related to the reduction in the incidence of infectious diseases.Methods Data on 10 notifiable infectious diseases across China during 2010–2020 were extracted from the China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention.A two-stage controlled interrupted time-series design with a quasi-Poisson regression model was used to examine the impact of NPIs on the incidence of infectious diseases.The analysis was first performed at the provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs)level in China,then the PLAD-specific estimates were pooled using a random-effect meta-analysis.Results A total of 61,393,737 cases of 10 infectious diseases were identified.The implementation of NPIs was associated with 5.13 million(95%confidence interval[CI]3.45‒7.42)avoided cases and USD 1.77 billion(95%CI 1.18‒2.57)avoided hospital expenditures in 2020.There were 4.52 million(95%CI 3.00‒6.63)avoided cases for children and adolescents,corresponding to 88.2%of total avoided cases.The top leading cause of avoided burden attributable to NPIs was influenza[avoided percentage(AP):89.3%;95%CI 84.5‒92.6].Socioeconomic status and population density were effect modifiers.Conclusions NPIs for COVID-19 could effectively control the prevalence of infectious diseases,with patterns of risk varying by socioeconomic status.These findings have important implications for informing targeted strategies to prevent infectious diseases.Wenyi Zhang Yao Wu Bo Wen Yongming Zhang Yong Wang Wenwu Yin Shanhua Sun Xianyu Wei Hailong Sun Zhijie Zhang Shanshan Li Yuming Guo 2023Infectious Diseases of Poverty2023,12,2:1
14UAV Laser scanning technology:a potential cost-effective tool for micro-topography detection over wooded areas for archaeological prospection显示文摘Airborne laser scanning(ALS)has recently been identified as a potential tool in topographic mapping for archaeological prospection.However,most existing applications in this field refers to manned ALS systems,for which the high operation and maintenance costs limits its application in small-scale archaeological investigation.In this paper,we conducted an exploratory study on the application of the unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)laser scanning(ULS)system in ancient micro-topography detection over wooded areas.Compared with manned ALS technology,we analyzed the advantages and potentials of ULS technology for archaeological applications.Then we outlined existing mainstream survey-grade UAV-based laser scanners,data processing and visualization approaches.Furthermore,we performed case studies in three cultural heritage sites in Zhejiang Province,China using two representative mainstream survey-grade ULS systems.Results were then verified by an in-site investigation.Finally,the correct selection of ULS devices,the planning of data acquisition missions and the use of appropriate data processing methods specifically for archaeological prospection were discussed.This paper provides a cost-effective and flexible solution for micro-topography detection in wooded areas.ULS technology,as demonstrated here,can be an important supplement to existing archaeological investigation methods,particularly for small-scale areas,and has promising prospects in archaeological applications.Wei Zhou Fulong Chen Huadong Guo Mingyuan Hu Qi Li Panpan Tang Wenwu Zheng Jian’an Liu Rupeng Luo Kaikai Yan Ru Li Pilong Shi Sheng Nie 2020International Journal of Digital Earth2020,13,11:1

18DR5 is a Suitable System for Studying the Auxin Response in the Poncirus trifoliata-Xanthomonas axonopodis pv.citri Interaction显示文摘The local auxin distribution characteristics in the roots,stems,and leaves of stably transformed plantlets of trifoliate orange(Poncirus trifoliata)with auxin reporter system DR5::GUS-YFP were elucidated in this research.The auxin response maxima could be observed in the apex of the root tip,primary phloem of the tender stem,and the margin of the young leaves according to the activity of theβ-glucuronidase(GUS)reporter gene triggered by the auxin responsive DR5 promoter.Auxin responses in the apex of the root tips increased when treated with synthetic auxin 1-naphthylacetic acid(NAA),but decreased when treated with the auxin polar transportation inhibitor 2,3,5-triiodobenzoic acid(TIBA).These results indicated that the DR5 reporter system worked in P.trifoliata for auxin distribution and response observation.Trifoliate orange is highly susceptible to citrus canker disease.Auxin accumulation was observed visually in the invasion sites of the detached leaves inoculated with Xanthomonas axonopodis pv.citri(Xac)by GUS staining;the upregulated expression of the YFP,GH3.1,GH3.9,and SAUR genes assessed by quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR)also identified auxin accumulation in the inoculated tissues following Xac infection.Overall,these findings indicated that the plantlets of P.trifoliata engineered with the auxin reporter gene provided a promising system for studying auxin responses during Xac infection.Xuan Xiao Xiaoyan Li Chunli Chen Wenwu Guo 2020Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,5:1

20Application of Time Serial Model in Water Quality Predicting显示文摘Water resources are an indispensable and valuable resource for human survival and development.Water quality predicting plays an important role in the protection and development of water resources.It is difficult to predictwater quality due to its random and trend changes.Therefore,amethod of predicting water quality which combines Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average(ARIMA)and clusteringmodelwas proposed in this paper.By taking thewater qualitymonitoring data of a certain river basin as a sample,thewater quality Total Phosphorus(TP)index was selected as the prediction object.Firstly,the sample data was cleaned,stationary analyzed,and white noise analyzed.Secondly,the appropriate parameters were selected according to the Bayesian Information Criterion(BIC)principle,and the trend component characteristics were obtained by using ARIMA to conduct water quality predicting.Thirdly,the relationship between the precipitation and the TP index in themonitoring water field was analyzed by the K-means clusteringmethod,and the random incremental characteristics of precipitation on water quality changes were calculated.Finally,by combining with the trend component characteristics and the random incremental characteristics,the water quality prediction results were calculated.Compared with the ARIMA water quality prediction method,experiments showed that the proposed method has higher accuracy,and its Mean Absolute Error(MAE),Mean Square Error(MSE),and Mean Absolute Percentage Error(MAPE)were respectively reduced by 44.6%,56.8%,and 45.8%.Jiang Wu Jianjun Zhang Wenwu Tan Hao Lan Sirao Zhang Ke Xiao Li Wang Haijun Lin Guang Sun Peng Guo 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,1:0
