1First dark matter search results from the PandaX-Ⅰ experiment显示文摘We report on the first dark-matter(DM)search results from PandaX-I,a low threshold dual-phase xenon experiment operating at the China JinPing Underground Laboratory.In the 37-kg liquid xenon target with 17.4 live-days of exposure,no DM particle candidate event was found.This result sets a stringent limit for low-mass DM particles and disfavors the interpretation of previously-reported positive experimental results.The minimum upper limit,3.7×10-44cm2,for the spin-independent isoscalar DM-particle-nucleon scattering cross section is obtained at a DM-particle mass of 49 GeV/c2at 90%confidence level.XIAO MengJiao XIAO Xiang ZHAO Li CAO XiGuang CHEN Xun CHEN YunHua CUI XiangYi FANG DeQing FU ChangBo GIBONI Karl L. 2SOD1^(G93A) Induces a Unique PSAP-Dependent Mitochondrial Apoptosis Pathway via Bax-Bak Interaction显示文摘Amyotrophic lateral syndrome(ALS)is a progressive degenerative disorder characterized by motor neuron death and axon degeneration.Mitochondrial dysfunction plays a key role in the pathogenesis of ALS,the mechanism of which remains poorly understood.The B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2)family of proteins that control and mediate mitochondrial function and apoptosis,including the pro-apoptotic members Bcl2-Associated X(Bax),are involved in ALS development.The death receptor 6(DR6)regulates motor neuron death in ALS,and DR6 antibodies can prevent axon degeneration and motor neuron damage by blocking DR6.Previous studies demonstrated that PSAP localized to mitochondria and was required for DR6-induced apoptosis.In this study,SOD1^(G93A) was transfected into the motor neuron cell line NSC-34 to serve as an ALS cell model in vitro.The data assessed the role of PSAP in SOD1^(G93A)induced apoptosis and demonstrated that the overexpression of SOD1^(G93A),but not wtSOD1,induced PARP cleavage,caspase-3 activation,cytochrome c release,and Bax translocation.PSAP,Bax,and Bak were necessary for SOD1^(G93A)induced apoptosis,as silencing PSAP inhibited SOD1^(G93A)-mediated cell death that was dependent on Bax-Bak interaction.HAN NIU XIN CHEN XUEQI FU JINGTIAN ZHANG GUODONG LI YUXIANG WANG JIAYUE SONG XUETING MA CHEN HU XUEMIN XU FUQIANG ZHANG LINLIN ZENG 2021BIOCELL2021,45,4:2

5Improved two-step hydrothermal process for acetic acid production from carbohydrate biomass显示文摘An improved two-step process for converting carbohydrate biomass to acetic acid under hydrothermal conditions is proposed. The first step consists of the production of lactic acid from carbohydrate biomass, and the second step consists of conversion of the lactic acid obtained in the first step to acetic acid using CuO as an oxidant. The results indicated that CuO as an oxidant in the second step can significantly improve the production of high-purity acetic acid from lactic acid, and the maximum yield of acetic acid was 61%, with a purity of 90%. The yield of acetic acid obtained using the improved two-step hydrothermal process from carbohydrate biomass, such as glucose, cellulose and starch, was greater than that obtained using traditional two-step process with H2O2 orO2. In addition, a proposed pathway for the production of acetic acid from lactic acid in the second step with CuO was also discussed. 8Synthesis and Characterization of a Silica-Based Drug Delivery System for Spinal Cord Injury Therapy显示文摘Acute inflammation is a central component in the progression of spinal cord injury(SCI).Anti-inflammatory drugs used in the clinic are often administered systemically at high doses,which can paradoxically increase inflammation and result in drug toxicity.A cluster-like mesoporous silica/arctigenin/CAQK composite(MSN-FC@ARCG)drug delivery system was designed to avoid systemic side effects of high-dose therapy by enabling site-specific drug delivery to the spinal cord.In this nanosystem,mesoporous silica was modified with the FITC fluorescent molecule and CAQK peptides that target brain injury and SCI sites.The size of the nanocarrier was kept at approximately 100 nm to enable penetration of the blood–brain barrier.Arctigenin,a Chinese herbal medicine,was loaded into the nanosystem to reduce inflammation.The in vivo results showed that MSN-FC@ARC-G could attenuate inflammation at the injury site.Behavior and morphology experiments suggested that MSN-FC@ARC-G could diminish local microenvironment damage,especially reducing the expression of interleukin-17(IL-17) and IL-17-related inflammatory factors,inhibiting the activation of astrocytes,thus protecting neurons and accelerating the recovery of SCI.Our study demonstrated that this novel,silica-based drug delivery system has promising potential for clinical application in SCI therapy.Guodong Sun Shenghui Zeng Xu Liu Haishan Shi Renwen Zhang Baocheng Wang Changren Zhou Tao Yu 2019Nano-Micro Letters2019,11,2:1

10Aurone derivatives as Vps34 inhibitors that modulate autophagy显示文摘We report in this study the identification of a natural product-like antagonist(1a) of Vps34 as a potent autophagy modulator via structure-based virtual screening. Aurone derivative 1a strongly inhibited Vps34 activity in cell-free and cell-based assays. Significantly, 1a prevents autophagy in human cells induced either by starvation or by an mT OR inhibitor. In silico modeling and kinetic data revealed that 1a could function as an ATP-competitive inhibitor of Vps34. 14Influence of Hydrodynamic Pore Pressure Damage on the Performance of Hot-Mixed Renewable Asphalt Mixture显示文摘For evaluating the water stability of hot-mixed renewable asphalt mixture(HRM),the traditional methods are all tested under still water conditions.Except for damage in still water conditions,the hydrodynamic pore pressure generated by the tire driving on the surface water has a great impact.Thus,the RAP contents of the HRMs were designed at 0%,30%,45%and 60%with AC-25 gradation.Then,the self-designed evaluation methods of water stability and dynamic modulus were studied.Finally,the mechanism of the influence of hydrodynamic pore pressure damage on HRMs was studied.The results show that the water stability of HRM containing 30%RAP is equivalent to that of 45%RAP,and the water stability of HRM containing 60%RAP decreases significantly.The Contabro test after MIST treatment can be used as an evaluation method for hydrodynamic pore pressure damage on HRM.Low-speed,heavy-load traffic and larger RAP content have greater damage to the mixture after hydrodynamic pore pressure damage.The performance differences between the aged bitumen and pure bitumen,as well as the aged minerals and new minerals,are continuing to be enlarged in hydrodynamic pore pressure conditions,finally affecting the water stability and dynamic modulus of the HRMs.Guodong Zeng Chao Li Yang Fang Hongming Huang Hao Li Yishen Xu 2023Journal of Renewable Materials2023,11,5:0

17Biochar-supported nano-scale zerovalent iron activated persulfate for remediation of aromatic hydrocarbon-contaminated soil:an in-situ pilot-scale study显示文摘Biochar supported nano-scale zerovalent iron(nZVI/BC)for persulfate(PS)activation has been studied extensively for the degradation of pollutants on the lab scale,but it was rarely applied in practical soil remediation in the field.In this research,we developed a facile ball-milling method for the mass production of nZVI/BC,which was successfully applied to activate persulfate for the remediation of organic polluted soil on an in-situ pilot scale.In-situ high-pressure injection device was developed to inject nZVI/BC suspension and PS solution into the soil with a depth of 0-70 cm.The removal efficiency of target pollutants such as 2-ethylnitrobenzene(ENB,1.47-1.56 mg/kg),biphenyl(BP,0.19-0.21 mg/kg),4-(methylsulfonyl)toluene(MST,0.32-0.43 mg/kg),and 4-phenylphenol(PP,1.70-2.46 mg/kg)at different soil depths was 99.7%,99.1%,99.9%and 99.7%,respectively,after 360 days of remediation.The application of nZVI/BC significantly increased the degradation rates of contaminants by 11-322%,ascribed to its relatively higher efficiency of free radical generation than that of control groups.In addition,it was found that nZVI/BC-PS inhibited soil urease and sucrase enzyme activities by 1-61%within 55 days due to the oxidative stress for microbes induced by free radicals,while these inhibition effects disappeared with remediation time prolonged(>127 days).Our research provides a useful implementation case of remediation with nZVI/BC-PS activation and verifies its feasibility in practical contaminated soil remediation.Yu Zeng Tai Li Yingzhi Ding Guodong Fang Xiaolei Wang Bo Ye Liqiang Ge Juan Gao Yujun Wang Dongmei Zhou 2022Biochar2022,4,1:0

19CNN-Based Broad Learning for Cross-Domain Emotion Classification显示文摘Cross-domain emotion classification aims to leverage useful information in a source domain to help predict emotion polarity in a target domain in a unsupervised or semi-supervised manner.Due to the domain discrepancy,an emotion classifier trained on source domain may not work well on target domain.Many researchers have focused on traditional cross-domain sentiment classification,which is coarse-grained emotion classification.However,the problem of emotion classification for cross-domain is rarely involved.In this paper,we propose a method,called convolutional neural network(CNN)based broad learning,for cross-domain emotion classification by combining the strength of CNN and broad learning.We first utilized CNN to extract domain-invariant and domain-specific features simultaneously,so as to train two more efficient classifiers by employing broad learning.Then,to take advantage of these two classifiers,we designed a co-training model to boost together for them.Finally,we conducted comparative experiments on four datasets for verifying the effectiveness of our proposed method.The experimental results show that the proposed method can improve the performance of emotion classification more effectively than those baseline methods.Rong Zeng Hongzhan Liu Sancheng Peng Lihong Cao Aimin Yang Chengqing Zong Guodong Zhou 2023Tsinghua Science and Technology2023,28,2:0
20A H_(4)SiW_(12)O_(40)-catalyzed three-component tandem reaction for the synthesis of 3,3-disubstituted isoindolinones显示文摘A H_(4)SiW_(12)O_(40)-catalyzed three-component tandem reaction of 2-acylbenzoic acids,primary amines and phosphine oxides to form 3,3-disubstituted isoindolinones was developed.By employing A H_(4)SiW_(12)O_(40)as the catalyst and dimethyl carbonate(DMC)as the solvent,a diverse range of 2-acylbenzoic acid derivatives and primary amines worked well to give the C3-phosphinoyl-functionalized 3,3-disubstituted isoindolinones with the yield range of 61%-87%.Advantages of this transformation include green catalyst and solvent,available starting materials,broad substrate scope,high efficiency and operational simplicity with water as the sole by-product.The strategy achieved an efficient and green molecular fragment assembly to access isoindolinones,which would provide opportunities for the synthesis of potential biologically active molecules in a green manner.Yufeng Liu Guodong Zeng Yutao Cheng Lei Chen Yunhai Liu Yongge Wei Guoping Yang 2024Chinese Chemical Letters2024,35,1:0
