| 2 | Cell-Mediated Immunity Imbalance in Patients with Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy显示文摘Decidual lymphocytes may mediate fetal trophoblast recognition and regulate maternal immune reaction and play an essential role in the maintenance of normal pregnancy. The aim of this study was to compare the percentage of T cells, natural killer (NK) cells and natural killer T (NKT) cells within decidual parietalis of normal pregnant controls (NP) and patients with intraheptic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), and to investigate the production of interleukin-4 (IL-4), interferon-γ (IFN-γ) in the culture supernatant of decidual parietalis mononuclear cells (DPMCs). Compared with controls, the decidua parietalis from ICP were characterized with significant increased percentages of CD3-CD56+ cells, CD3+CD56+ cells, CD56+CD16+ cells, CD56+CD16- cells, CD56+NKG2D+ cells, and the significant decreased percentages of CD3+ cells, CD3+CD4+ cells. There were no differences found for the percentage of CD3+CD8+ cells, CD56+NKG2A+ cells between control and study group. In addition, the enhanced concentration of IFN-γ was presented in culture supernatant of DPMCs from ICP. | 5 | Comparison of Persulfate Activation and Fenton Reaction in Remediating an Organophosphorus Pesticides-Polluted Soil显示文摘Organophosphorus pesticides(OPs) are one of the most regular pollutants and frequently detected in the contaminated sites,so developing an efficient method for the treatment of OPs is highly required. The aim of the present study was to compare the effectiveness of persulfate(PS) activation and Fenton reaction in remediating the soil polluted with OPs. The polluted soil used in this study was sampled from an abandoned insecticide factory in Nantong, Jiangsu Province of China, mainly containing chloropyrifos(CP) and 4-bromo-2-chlorophenol(BCP, the raw material of profenofos) with total concentration of about 30 000 mg kg^(-1). The results showed that both BCP and CP were efficiently degraded by base activation of PS, and increasing the ratio of Na OH/PS enhanced CP degradation, but slightly decreased BCP degradation. The greatest degradation rates for CP and BCP were 92% and 97%, respectively,with 7.0 mol L^(-1) Na OH and 0.21 mol L^(-1) PS and a soil-to-liquid ratio of 1:1. Furthermore, ferrous iron activation of PS also degraded BCP efficiently, but only 60% of CP was degraded under the same reaction conditions. These results indicated that base activation of PS was more feasible than Fe^(2+) activation and Fenton reaction in remediating the soil polluted with OPs. | 7 | Comparison of the carbon isotope composition of total organic carbon and long-chain n-alkanes from surface soils in eastern China and their significance显示文摘Surface soil samples collected over a high spatial resolution in eastern China were analyzed for carbon isotope composition(δ 13C) of total organic carbon(TOC) and higher plant-derived long-chain n-alkanes,with the latter reported as weighted mean values.The two sets of δ 13C values are significantly correlated and show similar trends in spatial variation.The spatial distribution of δ 13C shows less negative values in the mid-latitudes between 31°N and 40°N and more negative ones at higher and lower latitudes.This is consistent with previously reported carbon isotope data from surface soil phytoliths in the same region and suggests that the mid-latitude area provides relatively favorable growing conditions for C4 plants.Furthermore,δ 13C values of both TOC and long-chain n-alkanes from 12 surface soil samples collected from a small grassland in north China displayed similar carbon isotope values and the difference between paired δ 13C of a soil samples remains relatively constant.Our data demonstrate that in eastern China,soil δ 13C composition of both TOC and long-chain n-alkanes is effective indicators of C3/C4 ratios of the prevailing vegetation.This work suggests that -22‰ and -32‰ are good estimated end members for the weighted mean δ 13C values of long-chain n-alkanes(C27,C29 and C31 n-alkanes) from soils under dominant C4 or C3 vegetation,allowing us to reconstruct paleovegetation trends. | RAO ZhiGuo JIA GuoDong ZHU ZhaoYu WU Yi ZHANG JiaWu | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,24: | 10 |

| 14 | Relationship between climatic conditions and the relative abundance of modern C_3 and C_4 plants in three regions around the North Pacific显示文摘Using -24‰ and -14‰ as the endpoints of stable carbon isotopic composition of total organic carbon (δ 13CTOC) of surface soil under pure C3 and C4 vegetation, and surface soil δ 13CTOC data from eastern China, Australia and the Great Plains of North America, we estimate the relative abundance of C3/C4 plants (i.e., the ratio of C3 or C4 biomass to local primary production) in modern vegetation for each region. The relative abundance of modern C3/C4 vegetation from each region is compared to the corresponding climatic parameters (mean annual temperature and precipitation) to explore the relationship between relative C4 abundance and climate. The results indicate that temperature controls the growth of C4 plants. However, even where temperature is high enough for the growth of C4 plants, they will only dominate the landscape when precipitation declines as temperatures increase. Our results are consistent with those of other investigations of the geographic distribution of modern C4 plant species. | 20 | The NPR1-WRKY46-WRKY6 signaling cascade mediates probenazole/salicylic acid-elicited leaf senescence in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Endogenous salicylic acid(SA) regulates leaf senescence, but the underlying mechanism remains largely unexplored. The exogenous application of SA to living plants is not efficient for inducing leaf senescence. By taking advantage of probenazole(PBZ)-inducedbiosynthesisof endogenous SA, we previously established a chemical inducible leaf senescence system that depends on SA biosynthesis and its core signaling receptor NPR1 in Arabidopsis thaliana. Here,using this system, we identified WRKY46 and WRKY6 as key components of the transcriptional machinery downstream of NPR1 signaling. Upon PBZ treatment, the wrky46 mutant exhibited significantly delayed leaf senescence. We demonstrate that NPR1 is essential for PBZ/SA-induced WRKY46 activation, whereas WRKY46 in turn enhances NPR1 expression. WRKY46 interacts with NPR1 in the nucleus, binding to the W-box of the WRKY6 promoter to induce its expression in response to SA signaling. Dysfunction of WRKY6 abolished PBZ-induced leaf senescence, while overexpression of WRKY6 was sufficient to accelerate leaf senescence even under normal growth conditions, suggesting that WRKY6 may serve as an integration node of multiple leaf senescence signaling pathways.
