1Differentiations of geographic distribution and subsistence strategies between Tibetan and other major ethnic groups are determined by the physical environment in Hehuang Valley显示文摘The people of the Tibetan Plateau have received extensive attention from scholars because of their unique adaptability to the low temperature and anoxic environments. However, the Tibetan communities and their habitats in the low-altitude regions of the plateau have rarely been studied in a scientific manner. Based on the extraction of geographic information of 197 towns in the Hehuang Valley and on variance analysis, this study examines the habitats and subsistence strategies of the Tibetans and other major ethnic groups in the low-latitude region of the Tibetan Plateau. Our statistical results show that the annual average temperature of Tibetan habitats in the Hehuang Valley is relatively high. The relatively warm environment of the valley allows the Tibetans in that area to cultivate wheat and barley and raise cattle and sheep—a subsistence strategy significantly different from that of other Tibetans in the high-altitude regions in the Tibetan Plateau. In addition, the Tibetan communities in the Hehuang Valley include similar agri-pastoral ethnic groups (including Hui and Salar), both of which adopt similar subsistence strategies. The agricultural ethnic groups (Han and Tu) live in a relatively cool and humid environment facilitating agricultural production, while the agri-pastoral ethnic groups (Tibetan, Hui, and Salar) inhabit relatively warm and arid environment in the valley. Due to the lack of agricultural activities, agri-pastoral groups must also engage in animal husbandry to supplement their diet. In the Ando Tibetan region, the subsistence strategies of the ethnic groups are closely related to their physical environment.Those ethnic groups communicate among themselves, integrate, and influence each other, resulting in a diversified culture. This study proves that the habitat variation at a regional scale corresponds significantly to the variation of subsistence strategies. 2Nascent Proteome and Glycoproteome Reveal the Inhibition Role of ALG1 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cell Migration显示文摘Asparagine-linked glycosylation protein 1 homolog(ALG1)participates in the initial stage of protein N-glycosylation and N-glycosylation has been implicated in the process of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)progression.However,whether ALG1 plays a role in human HCC remains unknown.In this study,the expression profile of ALG1 in tumorous and corresponding adjacent non-tumor tissues was analyzed.The relationship of ALG1 expression with clinical features and prognosis of HCC patients was also evaluated using immuno-histochemical method.Here we found ALG1 decreased in HCC tissues compared with adjacent normal liver tissues,which predicted an unfavorable prognosis.Combined with RNA interference,nascent proteome and glycoproteome were determined systematically in Huh7 cell line.Bioinformatics analysis indicated that the differentially expressed proteins participating in the response of ALG1 knockdown were most significantly associated with cell-cell adhesion.Functional studies confirmed that knockdown of ALG1 reduced cell adhesion capacity,and promoted cell migration.Furthermore,down-regulation of H8N2(on N-glycosite N651)and H5N4S2F1(on N-glycosite N692)from N-cadherin was identified as a feature of ALG1 knockdown.Our findings revealed that ALG1 controlled the expression of glycosylated N-cadherin and played a role in HCC migration,with implications for prognosis.Xinyi Cao Yuyin Shao Peiyi Meng Zhao Cao Guoquan Yan Jun Yao Xinwen Zhou Chao Liu Lei Zhang Hong Shu Haojie Lu 2022Phenomics2022,2,4:2
3Full-spectrum responsive photocatalytic activity via non-noble metal Bi decorated mulberry-like BiVO_(4)显示文摘Due to its appropriate bandgap(~2.4 e V)and efficient light absorption,bismuth vanadate(Bi VO_(4))shows promising photocatalysis activity.However,the charge carrier recombination and poor electron transmission often induce poor photocatalytic performance.Herein,we report a new method to in-situ synthesize non-noble metal Bi decorated mulberry-like Bi VO_(4)by a two-step calcination process.Comprehensive characterizations reveal that non-noble metal Bi nanoparticles grown in-situ on Bi VO_(4)result in the red-shift of the absorbance edge,greatly extending the light absorption from the ultraviolet into the near-infrared region.The surface plasmon resonance excitation of Bi nanoparticles and synergetic effects between Bi and Bi VO_(4)effectively improve the photocatalytic efficiency and promote the separation of photoinduced electron-hole pairs in mulberry-like Bi VO_(4).Density functional theory(DFT)calculation results further verify that the electrons are transferred from Bi to Bi VO_(4)and the formation of·OH radical in Bi/Bi VO_(4)is attributed to the lower simulated free energy,which supports our experimental outcomes.This work provides a novel strategy to enhance light absorption and promote efficient solar utilization of photocatalysts for practical applications.Yaxin Bi Yanling Yang Xiao-Lei Shi Lei Feng Xiaojiang Hou Xiaohui Ye Li Zhang Guoquan Suo Siyu Lu Zhi-Gang Chen 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,24:2

6New lysine-acetylated proteins screened by immunoaffinity and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry显示文摘The lack of selective extraction specific for lysine-acetylated proteins has been a major problem in the field of acetylation biology,though acetylation plays a key role in many biological processes.In this paper,we report for the first time the proteomic screening of lysine-acetylated proteins from a mouse liver tissue,by a new approach of immunoaffinity purification of lysine-acetylated peptides combined with nano-HPLC/MS/MS analysis.We have found 20 lysine-acetylated proteins with 21 lysine-acetylated sites,among which 12 lysine-acetylated proteins and 16 lysine-acetylated sites have never been reported before.Notably,three acetyltransferases harboring in mitochondrion are newly discovered acetyltransferases responsible for the acetylation of nonhistone proteins.We have explored the significant patterns of residue preference by the hierarchical clustering analysis of amino acid residues surrounding acetylation sites,which could be helpful to the prediction of new sites of lysine acetylation.Our findings provide more candidates for studying the important roles played by acetylation in diverse cellular pathways and related human diseases.ZHANG Bing ZHAO Chao LUO KaiXuan YAN GuoQuan YAO Jun WANG YingYin LU HaoJie FAN HuiZhi YANG PengYuan 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,1:1

10Hydrolysis hydrogen production mechanism of Mg10Ni10Ce alloy surface modified by SnO_(2) nanotubes in different aqueous systems显示文摘(Mg-10wt%Ni)-10wt%Ce(Mg10Ni10Ce)was ball-milled with SnO_(2)nanotubes and Mg10Ni10Ce-xSnO_(2)(x¼0,5,10 and 15 wt%)composites have been prepared.The phase compositions,microstructures,morphologies and hydrolysis H2 generation performance in different aqueous systems(distilled water,tap water and simulated seawater)have been investigated and the corresponding hydrolysis mechanism of Mg10Ni10Ce and Mg10Ni10CeeSnO_(2)has been proposed.Adding a small amount of SnO_(2)nanotubes can significantly enhance the hydrolysis reaction of Mg10Ni10Ce,especially the initial hydrolysis kinetics and the final H_(2) generation yield.Unfortunately,the Mg10Ni10Ce-xSnO_(2)hardly reacts with distilled water at room temperature.The hydrolysis reaction rate of Mg10Ni10Cee5SnO_(2)composite in tap water is still very slow with only 17.3%generation yield after 1 h at 303 K.Fortunately,in simulated seawater(3.5 wt%NaCl solution),the hydrolytic H2 generation behavior of the Mg10Ni10Cee5SnO_(2)composite has been greatly improved,which can release as high as 468.6 mL g^(-1 )H_(2) with about 60.9%generation yield within 30 s at 303 K.The Cl destroys the passivation layer on MgeNieCe alloy surface and the added SnO_(2)nanotubes accelerate the hydrolysis reaction rate and enhance the H2 generation yield.The Mg10Ni10Cee5SnO_(2)composite can rapidly generate a large amount of H2 in simulated seawater in a short time,which is expected to be applied on portable H2 generators in the future.Xiaojiang Hou Lu Yang Kaiming Hou Hongchang Shi Lei Feng Guoquan Suo Xiaohui Ye Li Zhang Yanling Yang 2021Green Energy & Environment2021,6,1:1
11Response of peptide intensity to concentration in ESI–MS-based proteome显示文摘High-throughput quantification with label-free methods has received considerable attention in electrospray ionization(ESI)-mass spectrometry(MS),but the manner by which MS signals respond to peptide concentration remains unclear in proteomics.We developed a new mathematical formula to describe the intrinsic log-log relationship between the MS intensity response and peptide concentration in an analytical ESI process.Experimental results showed that the calibration curve is fairly fit to the log-log formula with a linear dynamic range of approximate four to five orders of magnitude.However,we found that the ionization of analytical peptides can be severely suppressed by coexisting matrix peptides,such that the calibration curve can be poorly leveled off on both ends.Our study suggests that the interferences from coexisting matrix peptides should be reduced in the ESI process to use the log-log calibration curve successfully for the high-throughput quantification.LU WenYuan YIN XueFei LIU XiaoHui YAN GuoQuan YANG PengYuan 2014Science China Chemistry2014,57,5:1

14Genetic variants in the Hedgehog signaling pathway genes are associated with gastric cancer risk in a Chinese Han population显示文摘The Hedgehog signaling pathway participates in the occurrence and progression of cancers including gastric cancer.We conducted this study to evaluate whether genetic variants in the Hedgehog signaling pathway genes would affect gastric cancer risk.Multi-marker Analysis of GenoMic Annotation(MAGMA)was used to investigate the aggregated genetic effects of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)assigned to candidate genes.The relationship between SNPs and gastric cancer risk was estimated by multivariate logistic regression analyses.Gene expression was calculated using databases obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)and The Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO).Kaplan‐Meier plotter was used to evaluate the association between gene expression with gastric cancer survival.Tumor Immune Estimation Resource 2.0(TIMER 2.0)was applied to determine the correlation between selected gene expression and the immune cell infiltration degree.We identified that the G allele of rs2990912 in KIF27 was associated with higher gastric cancer risk,especially in the young and male subgroups.The expression of KIF27 in gastric cancer tissues was higher than that in normal tissues,leading to poor survival in gastric cancer patients.Besides,KIF27 expression was related to immune cell infiltration and positively correlated with PD-L1 expression.Our findings highlight the key role of genetic variation in the Hedgehog signaling pathway genes in gastric cancer susceptibility,which may provide important insights into the diagnosis,prognosis,and treatment of gastric cancer.Yujuan Zhang Kai Lu Xu Wu Hanting Liu Junyi Xin Xiaowei Wang Weida Gong Qinghong Zhao Meilin Wang Haiyan Chu Mulong Du Guoquan Tao Zhengdong Zhang 2022The Journal of Biomedical Research2022,36,1:1
15Co(II)-salen complex encapsulated into MIL-100(Cr) for electrocatalytic reduction of oxygen显示文摘Co(II)-salen was encapsulated in MIL-100(Cr) metal organic framework by 'ship in a bottle' to synthesize a new electrocatalyst, Cosalen@MIL-100(Cr). The material was characterized by XRD, FT-IR, UV-Vis and N2-adsorption. The Cosalen@MIL-100(Cr) modified glassy carbon electrode exhibits a well-defined reduction peak at the potential of –0.21 V toward the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) by cyclic voltammetry(CV) in pH = 6.84 phosphate buffer. Almost 400 mV positive shift of potential at Cosalen@MIL-100(Cr) modified electrode for ORR compared with that at bare glassy carbon, indicates that Cosalen@MIL-100(Cr) possesses excellent electrocatalytic activity. The transferred number of electrons for ORR was determined by chronocoulometry. The result suggests that the introduction of Co(II)-salen complex into MOF increases the electrocatalytic activity via a four-electron reduction pathway. 17H_2 generation kinetics/thermodynamics and hydrolysis mechanism of high-performance La-doped Mg-Ni alloys in Na Cl solution——A large-scale and quick strategy to get hydrogen显示文摘In this work,La-doped Mg-Ni multiphase alloys were prepared by resistance melting furnace(RMF)and then modified by high-energy ball milling(HEBM).The hydrolysis H_(2) generation kinetics/thermodynamics of prepared alloys in Na Cl solutions have been investigated with the help of nonlinear and linear fitting by Avrami-Erofeev and Arrhenius equations.Combining the microstructure information before and after hydrolysis and thermodynamics fitting results,the hydrolysis H_(2) generation mechanism based on nucleation&growth has been elaborated.The final H_(2) generation capacities of 0La,5La,10La and 15 La alloys are 677,653,641 and 770 m L·g^(-1)H_(2) in 240 min at291 K,respectively.While,the final H_(2) generation capacities of HEBM 0La,5La,10La and 15 La alloys are 632,824,611 and 653 m L·g^(-1)H_(2) in 20 min at 291 K,respectively.The as-cast 15La alloy and HEMB 5La alloy present the best H_(2) production rates and final H_(2) production capacities,especially the HEBM 5La can rapidly achieve high H_(2) generation capacity(670 and 824 m L·g^(-1)H_(2) )at low temperature(291 K)within short time(5 and 20 min).The difference between the H_(2) generation capacities is mainly originated from the initial nucleation rate of Mg(OH)_(2) and the subsequent processes affected by the microstructures and phase compositions of the hydrolysis alloys.Relative low initial nucleation rate and fully growth of Mg(OH)_(2) nucleus are the premise of high H_(2) generation capacity due to the hydrolysis H_(2) generation process consisted by the nucleation,growth and contacting of Mg(OH)_(2) nucleus.To utilization H_(2) by designing solid state H_(2) generators using optimized Mg-based alloys is expected to be a feasible H_(2) generation strategy at the moment.Xiaojiang Hou Hongchang Shi Lu Yang Kaiming Hou Yi Wang Lei Feng Guoquan Suo Xiaohui Ye Li Zhang Yanling Yang 2021Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,3:0
