1Climatic Warming and Humidification in the Arid Region of Northwest China: Multi-Scale Characteristics and Impacts on Ecological Vegetation显示文摘The climatic warming and humidification observed in the arid region of Northwest China(ARNC) and their impacts on the ecological environment have become an issue of concern. The associated multi-scale characteristics and environmental responses are currently poorly understood. Using data from satellite remote sensing, field observations, and the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 6, this paper systematically analyzes the process and scale characteristics of the climatic warming and humidification in the ARNC and their impacts on ecological vegetation. The results show that not only have temperature and precipitation increased significantly in the ARNC over the past 60 years, but the increasing trend of precipitation is also obviously intensifying. The dryness index, which comprehensively considers the effects of precipitation and temperature, has clearly decreased, and the trend in humidification has increased. Spatially, the trend of temperature increase has occurred over the entire region, while 93.4% of the region has experienced an increase in precipitation, suggesting a spatially consistent climatic warming and humidification throughout the ARNC. Long-term trends and interannual changes in temperature and precipitation dominate the changes in climatic warming and humidification. Compared to interannual variations in temperature, the trend change of temperature contributes more to the overall temperature change. However, the contribution of interannual variations in precipitation is greater than that of the precipitation trend to the overall precipitation change. The current climatic warming and humidification generally promote the growth of ecological vegetation. Since the 1980 s,82.4% of the regional vegetation has thrived. The vegetation index has a significant positive correlation with precipitation and temperature. However, it responds more significantly to interannual precipitation variation, although the vegetation response varies significantly under different types of land use. The warming and humidification of the climate in the ARNC are probably related to intensifications of the westerly wind circulation and ascending air motions.They are expected to continue in the future, although the strength of the changes will probably be insufficient to significantly change the basic climate pattern in the ARNC. 3Safety and survival outcomes of transanal natural orifice specimen extraction using prolapsing technique for patients with middle-to low-rectal cancer显示文摘Objective:The transanal approach to specimen collection,combined with the prolapsing technique,is a wellestablished and minimally invasive surgery for treating rectal cancer.However,reports on outcomes for this approach are sparse.We compared short-and long-term outcomes of conventional laparoscopic surgery(CLS)vs.transanal natural orifice specimen extraction(NOSE)using the prolapsing technique for patients with middle-to low-rectal cancer.Methods:From January 2013 to December 2017,we enrolled consecutive patients with middle-to low-rectal cancer undergoing laparoscopic anterior resection.Totally,50 patients who underwent transanal NOSE using the prolapsing technique were matched with 50 patients who received CLS.Clinical parameters and survival outcomes between the two groups were compared.Results:Estimated blood loss(29.70±29.28 vs.52.80±45.09 mL,P=0.003),time to first flatus(2.50±0.79 vs.2.86±0.76,P=0.022),time to liquid diet(3.62±0.64 vs.4.20±0.76 d,P<0.001),and the need for analgesics(22%vs.48%,P=0.006)were significantly lower for the NOSE group compared to the CLS group.The incidences of overall complications and fecal incontinence were comparable in both groups.After a median follow-up of 44.52 months,the overall local recurrence rate(6%vs.5%,P=0.670),3-year disease-free survival(86.7%vs.88.0%,P=0.945)and 3-year overall survival(95.6%vs.96.0%,P=0.708),were not significantly different.Conclusions:For total laparoscopic rectal resection,transanal NOSE using the prolapsing technique is effective and safe,and associated with less trauma and pain,a faster recovery,and similar survival outcomes compared to CLS.Zhao Lu Haipeng Chen Mingguang Zhang Xu Guan Zhixun Zhao Zheng Jiang Zheng Liu Zhaoxu Zheng Xishan Wang 2020Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,5:6
4Changes of Extreme Precipitation and its Associated Mechanisms in Northwest China显示文摘Characterized by scarce water resources and fragile ecosystems,Northwest China(NWC)has experienced a climate shift from warm-dry to warm-wet conditions since the 1980s that has garnered extensive concern in recent years.In this study,the variability in extreme precipitation(EP)during 1961-2016 in different climate zones of NWC and the possible mechanisms for this variation are investigated.The results show that the EP trends significantly increased in most of the westerly zone(WZ)and plateau zone(PZ),while the EP trends did not significantly decrease in the monsoon zone(MZ).The start dates of extreme precipitation(SDEP)and end dates of extreme precipitation(EDEP)advanced and were postponed,respectively,in the WZ and PZ,while the opposite occurred in the MZ.Summer atmospheric circulation,water vapor transport,and atmospheric instability over NWC varied greatly with the interdecadal shift in EP before and after 1986.During 1986-2016,upper-level divergence and lower-level convergence occurred in the MZ and PZ,which strengthened ascending flow.In addition,the summer water vapor and atmospheric instability increased in the WZ and PZ.These characteristics created favorable conditions for increased occurrences of EP in the WZ and PZ in summer.Conversely,the upper-level convergence and lower-level divergence in the MZ strengthened descending flow.Decreases in summer water vapor and atmospheric instability occurred in the MZ after 1986.Hence,the environmental conditions in the MZ may have prevented the occurrence and development of EP in summer during 1986-2016.Shan LU Zeyong HU Haipeng YU Weiwei FAN Chunwei FU Di WU 2021Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,10:4

7Composition,Microstructure,Phase Constitution and Fundamental Physicochemical Properties of Low-Melting-Point Multi-Component Eutectic Alloys显示文摘Low-melting-point alloys have an extensive applications in the fields of materials processing, phase change energy storage, electronic and electrical automatic control, continuous casting simulation, welding, etc.Specifically, the eutectic compositions make up a large number of low-melting-point alloys that are exploited because of their desirable features like single melting peaks, excellent operational reliability, and casting fluidity. However, the fundamental physicochemical properties from the current available literature on low-melting-point multi-component eutectic alloys(LMP-MCEAs) are rather rare and lowly accurate, including the exact melting temperatures and compositions, constituent phases, microstructures and morphologies, melting enthalpies, specific heats, densities, and so on. This lack of information seriously limits the development and application of low-melting-point multi-component eutectic alloys.In this paper, the low-melting-point multi-component eutectic alloys composed of Bi, Cd, Sn, Pb, and In elements synthesized by high vacuum induction melting and fundamental data were investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectrometry(EDS), X-ray diffraction(XRD), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), and density analysis instrument. Most of the LMP-MCEAs with complex eutectic morphology structures and XRD diffraction patterns could be explained with the fact that they were three-phase eutectic alloys with mixed growth way. 9A Model for Agglomeration in Bio-fuel Fired Fluidized Bed显示文摘A mathematical model has been developed to describe the agglomeration process in bio-fuel fired fluidized bed combustor.Based on the balance mechanism of the adhesive force caused by liquid bonding between two particles and the breaking force induced by bubbles in the fluidized bed,the model considers modified Urbain model and chemical equilibrium calculations using FactSage modeling.This model prediction accounts for the evolvement of the adhesive and breaking forces,and clearly demonstrates that the different composition of ash,the increasing liquid phase matter and the fluidization velocity cause defluidization in fluidized bed.In this model,it is the first time to hypothesize that the bonding stress between two particles is proportional to mass fraction of liquid phase and inversely proportional to the diameter of particles and viscosity of liquid phase.The defluidization time calculated by this model shows good agreement with that from the experimental data.Shiyuan Li Linlin Shang Haipeng Teng Qinggang Lu 2010Journal of Thermal Science2010,19,5:2
10Optimization of Out-of-Plane Vibration Energy Harvesters Employing Electret显示文摘This paper investigated the dependence of out-of-plane electret-based vibration energy harvesters’output power,frequency bandwidth,and resonance frequency on surface charge density and load resistance.As the external acceleration amplitude and electret size were held constant,the following results are predicted by the numerical investigation:(1)An optimum value exists in the surface charge density to maximize the output power.As the surface charge density is increasing,electrostatic forces are enhanced,which emphasizes that the soft spring effect widens the frequency bandwidth and lowers the resonance frequency.(2)Different surface charge densities correspond to different optimum initial air gaps,resonance frequency,and optimum load resistance.(3)With the attenuation of the surface potential,the output power,frequency drift,and frequency bandwidth decreased.(4)An optimum value exists in the load resistance to maximize the output power.As the load resistance is decreasing,electrostatic force is enhanced,which lowers the resonance frequency.(5)A maximum frequency bandwidth exists with further load resistance increasing,and the initial air gap is smaller,the greater the frequency bandwidth.Chunhui Gao Shiqiao Gao Haipeng Liu Lei Jin Junhu Lu 2017Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2017,26,3:1
