2Climate change and water security in the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains显示文摘Water security is under threat worldwide from climate change. A warming climate would accelerate evaporationand cryosphere melting, leading to reduced water availability and unpredictable water supply. However, thewater crisis in the Northern Slope of Tianshan Mountains(NSTM) faces dual challenges because water demandsforfast-growing urban areas have put heavy pressure on water resources. The mountain-oasis-desert system featuresglacier-fed rivers that sustain intensive water use in the oasis and end in the desert as fragile terminal lakes.The complex balance between water conservation and economic development is subtle. This paper investigateschanges in hydroclimatic variables and water security-related issues on the NSTM. The spatiotemporal variationsin glaciers, climatic variables, rivers, lakes and reservoirs, groundwater, surface water, human water use, andstreamflow were analyzed for the past four decades. The results show that temperature in the NSTM exhibitedan apparent upward trend with a more significant warming rate in the higher altitude regions. Glacier massloss and shrinkage was strong. The average annual streamflow increased from 1980-1989 to 2006–2011 at mosthydrological stations. The monthly dynamics of surface water area showed notable variability at both inter-annual and seasonal scales, revealing the impacts of both natural and anthropogenic drivers on surface wateravailability in the region. The terrestrial water storage anomaly showed a decreasing trend, which might berelated to groundwater pumping for irrigation. Human water use for agriculture and industry grew with theincrease in cultivated land area and gross domestic product (GDP). The increased agricultural water use wasstrongly associated with the expansion of oases. It is unclear whether water availability would remain high underfuture climatic and hydrological uncertainties, posing challenges to water management. In the context of rapidurban growth and climate change, balancing water for humans and nature is vital in achieving the SustainableDevelopment Goals (SDGs) in NSTM. This study provides a baseline understanding of the interplay among water,climate change, and socio-economic development in NSTM. 5Efficacy and safety of Buyang Huanwu decoction(补阳还五汤)for diabetic peripheral neuropathy:a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Buyang Huanwu decoction(BYHWD)in treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).METHODS:Eight electronic databases,including China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Wanfang Database,China Science and Technology Journal Database,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,Cochrane Library,Embase,Web of Science,and PubM ed,were searched for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of BYHWD to treat DPN.We identified all RCTs related to BYHWD and those on the treatment of DPN with the combination of mecobalamin.RevMan software was used for the statistical analysis.RESULTS:Twenty-one RCTs with a total of 1945 patients were included.The methodological quality of the literature included was low.Meta-analysis showed that the efficacy of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group in the treatment of DPN with BYHWD[risk ratio(RR)=0.33,95%CI(0.27,0.40),Z=11.25,P<0.00001].The median nerve of median motor nerve conduction velocity(MNCV)[mean difference(MD)=4.16,95%CI(1.35,6.98)]and median sensory NCV(SNCV)[(MD=3.28,95%CI(2.35,4.22)]were improved in the treatment group.The MNCV in the common peroneal nerve[(MD=1.63,95%CI(0.39,2.87)]and SNCV[(MD=4.56,95%CI(3.16,5.97)]were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.01).Plasma viscosity[(MD=-0.15,95%CI(-0.20,-0.09),Z=5.17,P<0.01)],whole blood high shear[(MD=-0.83,95%CI(-1.56,-0.11),Z=2.26,P=0.02)]and whole blood low shear[(MD=-1.61,95%CI(-2.28,-0.94),Z=4.68,P<0.01)]decreased significantly after treatment.There was no significant difference in fasting blood glucose[(MD=-0.42,95%CI(-0.89,0.05),Z=1.76,P=0.08)]between the treatment and control groups;postprandial blood glucose[(MD=-0.62,95%CI(-1.19,0.05),Z=2.12,P=0.03)]decreased significantly.No significant difference was found in the blood lipid levels between the treatment and control groups,including triglycerides[(MD=-0.21,95%CI(-0.52,0.10),Z=1.34,P=0.18)]and cholesterol[(MD=-0.13,95%CI(-0.27,0.00),Z=1.92,P=0.06)].Of the 21 RCTs,only five reported adverse reactions,and four studies reported the length of follow-up.No serious adverse events were reported.None of the studies reported the quality of life and economic conditions.CONCLUSIONS:Our study suggests that BYHWD has a significant therapeutic effect on DPN.High-quality,largescale RCTs are needed to provide more reliable evidence.ZHANG Meizhen HAO Xiaohui TANG Yiting CHEN Yupeng HE Puyu ZHAO Liming PANG Bing NI Qing 2023Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,5:0
6Effect of topography on the changes of Urumqi Glacier No.1 in the Chinese Tianshan Mountains显示文摘Topography plays an important role in determining the glacier changes.However,topography has often been oversimplified in the studies of the glacier changes.No systematic studies have been conducted to evaluate the relationship between the glacier changes and topographic features.The present study provided a detailed insight into the changes in the two branches(east branch and west branch)of Urumqi Glacier No.1 in the Chinese Tianshan Mountains since 1993 and systematically discussed the effect of topography on the glacier parameters.This study analyzed comprehensive recently observed data(from 1992/1993 to 2018/2019),including mass balance,ice thickness,surface elevation,ice velocity,terminus,and area,and then determined the differences in the changes of the two branches and explored the effect of topography on the glacier changes.We also applied a topographic solar radiation model to analyze the influence of topography on the incoming shortwave radiation(SW_(in))across the entire glacier,focusing on the difference in the SW_(in) between the two branches.The glacier mass balance of the east branch was more negative than that of the west branch from 1992/1993 to 2018/2019,and this was mainly attributed to the lower average altitude of the east branch.Compared with the west branch,the decrease rate of the ice velocity was lower in the east branch owing to its relatively increased slope.The narrow shape of the west branch and its southeast aspect in the earlier period resulted in a larger glacier terminus retreat of the west branch.The spatial variability of the SW_(in) across the glacier surface became much larger as altitude increased.The SW_(in) received by the east branch was slightly larger than that received by the west branch,and the northern aspect could receive more SW_(in),leading to glacier melting.In the future,the difference of the glacier changes between the two branches will continue to exist due to their topographic differences.This work is fundamental to understanding how topographic features affect the glacier changes,and provides information for building different types of relationship between the glacier area and ice volume to promote further studies on the basin-scale glacier classification.LI Hongliang WANG Puyu LI Zhongqin JIN Shuang XU Chunhai MU Jianxin HE Jie YU Fengchen 2022Journal of Arid Land2022,14,7:0
7Study on Flow Field Simulation at Transmission Towers in Loess Hilly Regions Based on Circular Boundary Constraints显示文摘When using high-voltage transmission lines for energy transmission in loess hilly regions,local extreme wind fields such as turbulence and high-speed cyclones occur from time to time,which can cause many kinds of mechanical and electrical failures,seriously affecting the reliable and stable energy transmission of the power grid.The existing research focuses on the wind field simulation of ideal micro-terrain and actual terrain with mostly single microterrain characteristics.Model boundary constraints and the influence of constrained boundaries are the main problems that need to be solved to accurately model and simulate complex flow fields.In this paper,a flow field simulation method based on circular boundary constraints is carried out.During the study,the influence of the model boundary and the selection conditions of themodeling range are systematically analyzed.It is more suitable to make sure that the air domain is 4 times higher than the height of the hill undulations,in addition to ensuring that there should be a minimum of 400 m between the study region and the boundary.Then,an actual terrain model of a power grid line in Shanxi is established,through the method proposed in this paper,the wind speed at the location of the transmission tower line under different wind directions is analyzed,and it is found that when the incidence direction is 45 degrees north by east the wind speed is the highest.The findings demonstrate that the circular boundary model has the advantage of more easily adjusting the wind incidence direction,in addition to theoretically reducing the errors caused by traditional models in boundary processing.It can accurately obtain the distribution characteristics of the flow field affected by the terrain,and quickly screen out the extreme working conditions that are most harmful to the transmission lines in the actual transmission line for energy transmission in complex loess hilly regions.Yongxin Liu Huaiwei Cao Puyu Zhao Gang Yang Hua Yu Fuwei He Bo He 2023Energy Engineering2023,120,10:0
8Establishing cell polarity by the Lgl family proteins显示文摘The lethal giant larvae(lgl)gene was first identified more than 30 years ago in Drosophila and characterized as a tumor suppressor gene.Studies in budding yeast,flies and mammals all indicate that the evolutionarily conserved Lgl family proteins play an important role in cell polarity.Sro7/77,the yeast Lgl homologues,are important for the establishment and reinforcement of cell polarity through their localized interaction and kinetic activation of the post-Golgi secretion machinery.As for higher eukaryotes,both in epithelial polarity and asymmetric cell division,the role of Lgl protein is deployed by localizing proteins to the membrane in a polarized fashion.In addition,Lgl is transiently required during the establishment phase of polarity,implicating that Lgl functions at strategic time points for proliferation control.Studies in cancer biology provide direct connections between malfunction of Lgl and formation,progression and metastasis of various cancers.Here,we review recent advances in the field,focusing on the function of the Lgl family in cellular polarization.Zhangchun HE Lijuan ZHANG Puyue WANG 2010Frontiers in Biology2010,5,2:0
9Paradigm of Numerical Simulation of SpatialWind Field for Disaster Prevention of Transmission Tower Lines显示文摘Numerical simulation of the spatial wind field plays a very important role in the study of wind-induced response law of transmission tower structures.A reasonable construction of a numerical simulation method of the wind field is conducive to the study of wind-induced response law under the action of an actual wind field.Currently,many research studies rely on simulating spatial wind fields as Gaussian wind,often overlooking the basic non-Gaussian characteristics.This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the historical development and current state of spatial wind field simulations,along with a detailed introduction to standard simulation methods.Furthermore,it delves into the composition and unique characteristics of spatial winds.The process of fluctuating wind simulation based on the linear filter AR method is improved by introducing spatial correlation and non-Gaussian distribution characteristics.The numerical simulation method of the wind field is verified by taking the actual transmission tower as a calculation case.The results show that the method summarized in this paper has a broader application range and can effectively simulate the actual spatial wind field under various conditions,which provides a valuable data basis for the subsequent research on the wind-induced response of transmission tower lines.Yongxin Liu Puyu Zhao Jianxin Xu Xiaokai Meng Hong Yang Bo He 2023Structural Durability & Health Monitoring2023,17,6:0
