| 1 | Salmonella flagella confer anti-tumor immunological effect via activating Flagellin/TLR5 signalling within tumor microenvironment显示文摘Salmonella:mediated cancer therapy has achieved remarkable anti-tumor effects in experimental animal models,but the detailed mechanism remains unsolved.In this report,the active involvement of the host immune response in this process was confirmed by comparing the tumor-suppressive effects of Salmonella in immunocompetent and immunodeficient mice bearing melanoma allografts.Since flagella are key inducers of the host immune response during bacterial infection,flagella were genetically disrupted to analyse their involvement in Salmonella-mediated cancer therapy.The results showed that flagellum-deficient strains failed to induce significant anti-tumor effects,even when more bacteria were administered to offset the difference in invasion efficiency.Flagella mainly activate immune cells via Flagellin/Toll-like receptor 5(TLR5)signalling pathway.Indeed,we showed that exogenous activation of TLR5 signalling by recombinant Flagellin and exogenous expression of TLR5 both enhanced the therapeutic efficacy of flagellum-deficient Salmonella against melanoma.Our study highlighted the therapeutic value of the interaction between Salmonella and the host immune response through Flagellin/TLR5 signalling pathway during Salmonella-mediated cancer therapy,thereby suggesting the potential application of TLR5 agonists in the cancer immune therapy. | Jianxiang Chen Yiting Qiao Guo Chen Cunjie Chang Heng Dong Bo Tang Xiawei Cheng Xiufeng Liu Zichun Hua | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,10: | 6 |
| 2 | Terrain relief periods of loess landforms based on terrain profiles of the Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi Province,China显示文摘The Loess Plateau is densely covered by numerous types of gullies which represent different soil erosion intensities.Therefore,research on topographic variation features of the loess gullies is of great significance to environmental protection and ecological management.Using a5 m digital elevation model and data from a national geographic database,this paper studies different topographical areas of the Loess Plateau,including Shenmu,Suide,Yanchuan,Ganquan,Yijun,and Chunhua,to derive representative gully terrain profile data of the sampled areas.First,the profile data are standardized in MATLAB and then decomposed using the ensemble empirical mode decomposition method.Then,a significance test is performed on the results;the test confidence is 95% to 99%.The most reliable decomposition component is then used to calculate the relief period and size of the gullies.The results showed that relief periods of the Chunhua,Shenmu,Yijun,Yuanchuan,Ganquan,and Suide gullies are 1110.14 m,1096.85 m,1002.49 m,523.48 m,498.12 m,and 270.83 m,respectively.In terms of gully size,the loess landforms are sorted as loess fragmented tableland,aeolian and dune,loess tableland,loess ridge,loess hill and loess ridge,and loess hill,in descending order.Taken together,the gully terrain features of the sample areas and the results of the study are approximately consistent with the actual terrain profiles.Thus,we conclude that ensemble empirical mode decomposition is a reliable method for the study of the relief and topography of loess gullies. | Jianjun CAO Guoan TANG Xuan FANG Jilong LI Yongjuan LIU Yiting ZHANG Ying ZHU Fayuan LI | 2019 | Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,2: | 4 |

| 13 | Efficacy and safety of Buyang Huanwu decoction(补阳还五汤)for diabetic peripheral neuropathy:a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Buyang Huanwu decoction(BYHWD)in treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).METHODS:Eight electronic databases,including China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Wanfang Database,China Science and Technology Journal Database,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,Cochrane Library,Embase,Web of Science,and PubM ed,were searched for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of BYHWD to treat DPN.We identified all RCTs related to BYHWD and those on the treatment of DPN with the combination of mecobalamin.RevMan software was used for the statistical analysis.RESULTS:Twenty-one RCTs with a total of 1945 patients were included.The methodological quality of the literature included was low.Meta-analysis showed that the efficacy of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group in the treatment of DPN with BYHWD[risk ratio(RR)=0.33,95%CI(0.27,0.40),Z=11.25,P<0.00001].The median nerve of median motor nerve conduction velocity(MNCV)[mean difference(MD)=4.16,95%CI(1.35,6.98)]and median sensory NCV(SNCV)[(MD=3.28,95%CI(2.35,4.22)]were improved in the treatment group.The MNCV in the common peroneal nerve[(MD=1.63,95%CI(0.39,2.87)]and SNCV[(MD=4.56,95%CI(3.16,5.97)]were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.01).Plasma viscosity[(MD=-0.15,95%CI(-0.20,-0.09),Z=5.17,P<0.01)],whole blood high shear[(MD=-0.83,95%CI(-1.56,-0.11),Z=2.26,P=0.02)]and whole blood low shear[(MD=-1.61,95%CI(-2.28,-0.94),Z=4.68,P<0.01)]decreased significantly after treatment.There was no significant difference in fasting blood glucose[(MD=-0.42,95%CI(-0.89,0.05),Z=1.76,P=0.08)]between the treatment and control groups;postprandial blood glucose[(MD=-0.62,95%CI(-1.19,0.05),Z=2.12,P=0.03)]decreased significantly.No significant difference was found in the blood lipid levels between the treatment and control groups,including triglycerides[(MD=-0.21,95%CI(-0.52,0.10),Z=1.34,P=0.18)]and cholesterol[(MD=-0.13,95%CI(-0.27,0.00),Z=1.92,P=0.06)].Of the 21 RCTs,only five reported adverse reactions,and four studies reported the length of follow-up.No serious adverse events were reported.None of the studies reported the quality of life and economic conditions.CONCLUSIONS:Our study suggests that BYHWD has a significant therapeutic effect on DPN.High-quality,largescale RCTs are needed to provide more reliable evidence. | ZHANG Meizhen HAO Xiaohui TANG Yiting CHEN Yupeng HE Puyu ZHAO Liming PANG Bing NI Qing | 2023 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,5: | 0 |

| 15 | Linear and quadratic damping coefficients of a single module of a very large floating structure over variable bathymetry:Physical and numerical free-decay experiments显示文摘The linearity assumption is widely used when acquiring the hydrodynamic coefficients of a floating structure.However,the linear damping is frequently underestimated,especially for the natural frequency.To investigate the sloping seafloor effects on the damping terms of a single module of a semi-submersible Very Large Floating Structure(VLFS),this paper revisits the conventional formulation and further proposes the direct integration method for obtaining the linear and quadratic damping coefficients from free-decay tests.Numerical free-decay simulations of the single module over variable bathymetry are carried out by the CFD numerical tank.Corresponding model tests are also implemented to verify and validate against the numerical solutions.The effects of the sloping seafloor,as well as the water depth,on the hydrodynamic coefficients are investigated based on the validated CFD modeling.Both numerical and experimental results indicate that the acquisition of the linear and quadratic damping coefficients is sensitive to the data-processing and identification approaches.For the case studied in present paper,the identification errors introduced by the conventional method are 1.5%while they are 0.5%using the direct integration method.The quadratic damping coefficient for heave mode decreases about 10.4%when the sloping angle increases from 0 to 6 deg. | Yiting Wang Ziying Tang Lei Wang Xuefeng Wang | 2022 | Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science2022,7,6: | 0 |
