Dynamic deformation behavior of a face-centered cubic FeCoNiCrMn high-entropy alloy显示文摘In this study, mechanical tests were conducted on a face-centered cubic Fe Co Ni Cr Mn high-entropy alloy, both in tension and compression, in a wide range of strain rates(10^(-4)–10~4 s^(-1)) to systematically investigate its dynamic response and underlying deformation mechanism. Materials with different grain sizes were tested to understand the effect of grain size, thus grain boundary volume, on the mechanical properties. Microstructures of various samples both before and after deformation were examined using electron backscatter diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. The dislocation structure as well as deformation-induced twins were analyzed and correlated with the measured mechanical properties.Plastic stability during tension of the current high-entropy alloy(HEA), in particular, at dynamic strain rates, was discussed in lights of strain-rate sensitivity and work hardening rate. It was found that, under dynamic conditions, the strength and uniform ductility increased simultaneously as a result of the massive formation of deformation twins. Specifically, an ultimate tensile strength of 734 MPa and uniform elongation of $63% are obtained at 2.3 × 10~3 s^(-1), indicating that the alloy has great potential for energy absorption upon impact loading. | Junyang He Qi wang Husheng Zhang Lanhong Dai Toshiji Mukai Yuan Wu Xiongjun Liu Hui Wang Tai-Gang Nieh Zhaoping Lu | 2018 | Science Bulletin2018,63,6: | 9
The influence of various frequency chorus waves on electron dynamics in radiation belts显示文摘Non-adiabatic behaviour induced by the chorus-electron interaction is an important contributor to the radiation belt dynamics, and largely relies on wave frequency distribution.During the geomagnetic storm on August 2,2016,upper-band,lower-band and extremely low frequency(ELF)chorus waves were simultaneously observed within one orbit period of the Van Allen Probe B.Numerical simulations are performed to investigate the electron evolution by the observed chorus with different frequencies. The results show that various frequency chorus waves have different effects on electron dynamics. For chorus in the range f≈0.3 fce–0.7 fce, energy diffusion is the dominant process in electron evolutions. For chorus in the range 0.1 fce≤f≤0.25 fce,the pitch angle diffusion tends to be comparable to energy diffusion for Ek>0.5 MeV.For ELF chorus below 0.1 fce,the pitch angle diffusion rate is much above the energy diffusion rate, leading to potential scattering losses. | HE JiaBei JIN Yu Yue XIAO FuLiang HE ZhaoGuo YANG Chang XIE YanQiong HE Qian WANG ChengZhi SHANG XiongJun LIU Si ZHOU QingHua ZHANG Sai | 2021 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,4: | 3

Combination form analysis and experimental study of mechanical properties on steel sheet glass fiber reinforced polymer composite bar显示文摘The concept of steel sheet glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP)composite bar(SSGCB)was put forward. An optimization plan was proposed in the combined form of SSGCB.The composite principle, material selection, and SSGCB preparation technology have been described in detail.Three-dimensional finite element analysis was adopted to perform the combination form optimization of different steel core structures and different steel core contents based on the mechanical properties.Mechanical tests such as uniaxial tensile, shear, and compressive tests were carried out on SSGCB.Parametric analysis was conducted to investigate the influence of steel content on the mechanical properties of SSGCB.The results revealed that the elastic modulus of SSGCB had improvements and increased with the rise of steel content.Shear strength was also increased with the addition of steel content.Furthermore, the yield state of SSGCB was similar to the steel bar, both of which indicated a multi-stage yield phenomenon. The compressive strength of SSGCB was lower than that of GFRP bars and increased with the increase of the steel core content.Stress-strain curves of SSGCB demonstrated that the nonlinear-stage characteristics of SSGCB-8 were much more obvious than other bars. | Chao WU Xiongjun HE Li HE Jing ZHANG Jiang WANG | 2021 | Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2021,15,4: | 1

Research progress and application of deep in-situ condition preserved coring and testing显示文摘With the depletion of shallow resources, the exploration of deep earth resources has become a global strategy. The study of the different patterns in the physical mechanical properties of rocks at different occurrence depths is the basis for exploring deep into the earth, with the core and premise being the acquisition and testing of deep in-situ core specimens.Based on the original idea of deep in-situ condition preserved coring(ICP-Coring)and testing, combined with theoretical modeling, numerical analysis, test platform development, indoor testing and engineering application, the principles and technologies of deep ICP-Coring are developed. This principle and technology consists of five parts:in-situ pressurepreserved coring(IPP-Coring),in-situ substance-preserved coring(ISP-Coring),in-situ temperaturepreserved coring(ITP-Coring),in-situ light-preserved coring(ILP-Coring),and in-situ moisturepreserved coring(IMP-Coring).The theory and technology of temperature and pressure reconstruction at different occurrence depths and in different environments are proposed, and prototype trial production was completed by following the principle of displacement and tests based on the in-situ reconstructed environment. The notable advances are as follows:(1)Deep in-situ coring system:A pressure-preserved controller with an ultimate bearing capacity greater than 140 MPa,highperformance(temperature-resistant,pressure-resistant,and low thermally conductive)temperaturepreserved materials,an active temperature control system, and high-barrier quality-preserved membrane materials were developed;a deep ICP-Coring capacity calibration platform was independently developed,a deep in-situ coring technology system was developed, and the acquisition of deep in-situ cores was realized.(2)In-situ storage displacement system:Following the dual-circuit hydraulic design idea,a single-drive source push-pull composite grabbing mechanism was designed;the design of the overall structure for the deep in-situ displacement storage system and ultrahigh pressure cabin structure was completed, which could realize docking the coring device and core displacement in the in-situ reconstructed environment.(3)Test analysis system:A noncontact acoustic-electric-magnetic test system was developed under the in-situ reconstructed environment, and the errors between the test results and traditional contact test results were mostly less than 10%;a detachable deep in-situ core true triaxial test system was developed, which could perform loading tests for deep in-situ cores. The relevant technological achievements were successfully applied to the exploration and development of deep resources, such as deep mines,deep-sea natural gas hydrates, and deep oil and gas.The research results provide technical and equipment support for the construction of a theoretical system for deep in-situ rock mechanics, the development of deep earth resources and energy, and the scientific exploration of different layers and occurrence depths(deep and ultradeep)of the Earth. | Heping Xie Yunqi Hu Mingzhong Gao Ling Chen Ru Zhang Tao Liu Feng Gao Hongwei Zhou Xiaobo Peng Xiongjun Li Jianbo Zhu Cunbao Li Ruidong Peng Yanan Gao Cong Li Jianan Li Zhiqiang He | 2023 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2023,33,11: | 0
Observations and parametric study on the role of plasma density on extremely low-frequency chorus wave generation显示文摘Extremely low-frequency(ELF)chorus waves with frequencies below 0.1 fcecan cause the scattering losses of relativistic electrons.Previous studies have suggested that ELF chorus waves are excited by anisotropic electrons with energies up to a few hundred ke V.Here,we report an interesting event observed using the Van Allen Probes on November 1,2012,where distinct ELF chorus waves occurred exactly corresponding to the enhancement of the plasma density.Using the correlated data of particles and plasma environments, the continuous calculation of growth rates along the satellite trajectory was conducted. The linear analysis results display a similar pattern to the observation results. To further identify the impact of the plasma density on the frequency control of ELF chorus waves, the growth rates were then calculated by only changing the value of the plasma density. The calculation results show that the growth rates move to lower frequencies with plasma density enhancement during the event. These findings indicate that the increased plasma density has a considerable impact on the wave frequency. The current study can enrich our understanding of the possible role of plasma density on the generation of ELF chorus waves. | HE Qian LIU Si XIAO FuLiang GAO ZhongLei LI Tong SHANG XiongJun ZHOU QingHua YANG Chang HE YiHua | 2022 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2022,65,11: | 0
