1Wearable skin-like optoelectronic systems with suppression of motion artifacts for cuff-less continuous blood pressure monitor显示文摘According to the statistics of the World Health Organization,an estimated 17.9 million people die from cardiovascular diseases each year,representing 31%of all global deaths.Continuous non-invasive arterial pressure(CNAP)is essential for the management of cardiovascular diseases.However,it is difficult to achieve long-term CNAP monitoring with the daily use of current devices due to irritation of the skin as well as the lack of motion artifacts suppression.Here,we report a high-performance skin-like optoelectronic system integrated with ultra-thin flexible circuits to monitor CNAP.We introduce a theoretical model via the virtual work principle for predicting the precise blood pressure and suppressing motion artifacts,and propose optical difference in the frequency domain for stable optical measurements in terms of skin-like devices.We compare the results with the blood pressure acquired by invasive(intra-arterial)blood pressure monitoring for>1500 min in total on 44 subjects in an intensive care unit.The maximum absolute errors of diastolic and systolic blood pressure were±7/±10 mm Hg,respectively,in immobilized,and±10/±14 mm Hg,respectively,in walking scenarios.These strategies provide advanced blood pressure monitoring techniques,which would directly address an unmet clinical need or daily use for a highly vulnerable population.Haicheng Li Yinji Ma Ziwei Liang Zhouheng Wang Yu Cao Yuan Xu Hua Zhou Bingwei Lu Ying Chen Zhiyuan Han Shisheng Cai Xue Feng 2020National Science Review2020,7,5:7
2Effects of Long-term Creep at Elevated Temperatures on Rupture Ductility in 9Cr-1Mo-V-Nb-N Steel显示文摘Besides the creep strength, creep ductility has also been recognized as an important material parameter, since low ductility is often associated with notch sensitivity and concomitant prema-ture failure, especially brittle fracture. Creep rupture data of 9Cr-1Mo-V-Nb-N show that the creep ductility decreases with decreasing stress at constant temperatures or with decreasing tem-perature at constant stresses. SEM and TEM were used to investigate the mechanism of creep brittleness. 3Induced regulatory T cells suppress Tel cells through TGF-β signaling to ameliorate STZ-induced type 1 diabetes mellitus显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1D)is a chronic autoimmune condition in which the immune system destroys insulin-producing pancreatic β cells.In addition to well-established pathogenic effector T cells,regulatory T cells(Tregs)have also been shown to be defective in T1D.Thus,an increasing number of therapeutic approaches are being developed to target Tregs.However,the role and mechanisms of TGF-β-induced Tregs(iTregs)in T1D remain poorly understood.Here,using a streptozotocin(STZ)-induced preclinical T1D mouse model,we found that iTregs could ameliorate the development of T1D and preserve β cell function.The preventive effect was associated with the inhibition of type 1 cytotoxic T(Tel)cell function and rebalancing the Treg/Tc1 cell ratio in recipients.Furthermore,we showed that the underlying mechanisms were due to the TGF-β-mediated combinatorial actions of mTOR and TCF1.In addition to the preventive role,the therapeutic effects of iTregs on the established STZ-T1D and nonobese diabetic(NOD)mouse models were tested,which revealed improved β cell function.Our findings therefore provide key new insights into the basic mechanisms involved in the therapeutic role of iTregs in T1D.Li Zhou Xuemin He Peihong Cai Ting Li Rongdong Peng Junlong Dang Yue Li Haicheng Li Feng Huang Guojun Shi Chichu Xie Yan Lu Yanming Chen 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,3:3
4Correlating the electronic structures of metallic/semiconducting MoTe_(2)interface to its atomic structures显示文摘Contact interface properties are important in determining the performances of devices that are based on atomically thin two-dimensional(2D)materials,especially for those with short channels.Understanding the contact interface is therefore important to design better devices.Herein,we use scanning transmission electron microscopy,electron energy loss spectroscopy,and first-principles calculations to reveal the electronic structures within the metallic(1T)-semiconducting(2H)MoTe_(2)coplanar phase boundary across a wide spectral range and correlate its properties to atomic structures.We find that the 2 H-MoTe_(2)excitonic peaks cross the phase boundary into the 1 T phase within a range of approximately 150 nm.The1 T-MoTe_(2)crystal field can penetrate the boundary and extend into the 2H phase by approximately two unit-cells.The plasmonic oscillations exhibit strong angle dependence,that is a red-shift ofπ+σ(approximately 0.3–1.2 e V)occurs within 4 nm at 1 T/2 H-MoTe_(2)boundaries with large tilt angles,but there is no shift at zero-tilted boundaries.These atomic-scale measurements reveal the structure–property relationships of the 1 T/2 H-MoTe_(2)boundary,providing useful information for phase boundary engineering and device development based on 2 D materials.Bo Han Chen Yang Xiaolong Xu Yuehui Li Ruochen Shi Kaihui Liu Haicheng Wang Yu Ye Jing Lu Dapeng Yu Peng Gao 2021National Science Review2021,8,2:0
5Study on the Pharmacological Identification of Polygonum capitatum显示文摘[Objectives]This study was conducted to establish a microscopic identification method of Polygonum capitatum Buch.Ham.ex D.Don.[Methods]The cross sections were identified by microscopic identification.[Results]The stem cross section of P.capitatum is round-like,and shows pericyclic fibers forming a ring,strongly lignified,many vascular bundles,and a hollow pith part.There are many starch granules in the powder,and single granules are more common;and fibers are mostly bundled or scattered,lignified or non-lignified,and calcium oxalate cluster crystals are common.There are many pollen grains,obtuse triangular or round-like,and some of them have three germination apertures.They have fine thorn-like protrusions on the outer wall,the surface of which has reticulate carvings.[Conclusions]The results of microscopic identification are reliable and can be used as the basis for identification of P.capitatum.Wei WEI Huagang LIU Huarong HE Lihua FAN Qiuyan LU Dan LAN Haicheng WEN Songji WEI 2022Agricultural Biotechnology2022,11,1:0

7Neural Mechanisms Underlying the Coughing Reflex显示文摘Breathing is an intrinsic natural behavior and physiological process that maintains life.The rhythmic exchange of gases regulates the delicate balance of chemical constituents within an organism throughout its lifespan.However,chronic airway diseases,including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,affect millions of people worldwide.Pathological airway conditions can disrupt respiration,causing asphyxia,cardiac arrest,and potential death.The innervation of the respiratory tract and the action of the immune system confer robust airway surveillance and protection against environmental irritants and pathogens.However,aberrant activation of the immune system or sensitization of the nervous system can contribute to the development of autoimmune airway disorders.Transient receptor potential ion channels and voltage-gated Na+channels play critical roles in sensing noxious stimuli within the respiratory tract and interacting with the immune system to generate neurogenic inflammation and airway hypersensitivity.Although recent studies have revealed the involvement of nociceptor neurons in airway diseases,the further neural circuitry underlying airway protection remains elusive.Unraveling the mechanism underpinning neural circuit regulation in the airway may provide precise therapeutic strategies and valuable insights into the management of airway diseases.Haicheng Lu Peng Cao 2023Neuroscience Bulletin2023,39,12:0
8A comprehensive framework for seasonal controls of leaf abscission and productivity in evergreen broadleaved tropical and subtropical forests显示文摘Relationships among productivity,leaf phenology,and seasonal variation in moisture and light availability are poorly understood for evergreen broadleaved tropical/subtropical forests,which contribute 25% of terrestrial productivity.On the one hand,as moisture availability declines,trees shed leaves to reduce transpiration and the risk of hydraulic failure.On the other hand,increases in light availability promote the replacement of senescent leaves to increase productivity.Here,we provide a comprehensive framework that relates the seasonality of climate,leaf abscission,and leaf productivity across the evergreen broadleaved tropical/subtropical forest biome.The seasonal correlation between rainfall and light availability varies from strongly negative to strongly positive across the tropics and maps onto the seasonal correlation between litterfall mass and productivity for 68 forests.Where rainfall and light covary positively,litterfall and productivity also covary positively and are always greater in the wetter sunnier season.Where rainfall and light covary negatively,litterfall and productivity are always greater in the drier and sunnier season if moisture supplies remain adequate;otherwise productivity is smaller in the drier sunnier season.This framework will improve the representation of tropical/subtropical forests in Earth system models and suggests how phenology and productivity will change as climate change alters the seasonality of cloud cover and rainfall across tropical/subtropical forests.Xueqin Yang Jianping Wu Xiuzhi Chen Philippe Ciais Fabienne Maignan Wenping Yuan Shilong Piao Song Yang Fanxi Gong Yongxian Su Yuhang Dai Liyang Liu Haicheng Zhang Damien Bonal Hui Liu Guixing Chen Haibo Lu Shengbiao Wu Lei Fan Pierre Gentine SJoseph Wright 2021The Innovation2021,2,4:0
