| 3 | A Chromosome-Scale Genome Assembly of Paper Mulberry(Bmussonetia papyrifera)Provides New Insights into Its Forage and Papermaking Usage显示文摘Paper mulberry(Broussonetia papyrifera)is a well-known woody tree historically used for Cai Lun papermaking,one of the four great inventions of ancient China.More recently,Paper mulberry has also been used as forage to address the shortage of feedstuff because of its digestible crude fiber and high protein contents.In this study,we obtained a chromosome-scale genome assembly for Paper mulberry using integrated approaches,including Illumina and PacBio sequencing platform as well as Hi-C,optical,and genetic maps.The assembled Paper mulberry genome consists of 386.83 Mb,which is close to the estimated size,and 99.25%(383.93 Mb)of the assembly was assigned to 13 pseudochromosomes.Comparative genomic analysis revealed the expansion and contraction in the flavonoid and lignin biosynthetic gene families,respectively,accounting for the enhanced flavonoid and decreased lignin biosynthesis in Paper mulberry.Moreover,the increased ratio of syringyl-lignin to guaiacyl-lignin in Paper mulberry underscores its suitability for use in medicine,forage,papermaking,and barkcloth making.We also identified the rootassociated microbiota of Paper mulberry and found that Pseudomonas and Rhizobia were enriched in its roots and may provide the source of nitrogen for its stems and leaves via symbiotic nitrogen fixation.Collectively,these results suggest that Paper mulberry might have undergone adaptive evolution and recruited nitrogen-fixing microbes to promote growth by enhancing flavonoid production and altering lignin monomer composition.Our study provides significant insights into genetic basis of the usefulness of Paper mulberry in papermaking and barkcloth making,and as forage.These insights will facilitate further domestication and selection as well as industrial utilization of Paper mulberry worldwide. | Xianjun Peng Hui Liu Peilin Chen Feng Tang Yanmin Hu Fenfen Wang Zhi Pi Meiling Zhao Naizhi Chen Hui Chen Xiaokang Zhang Xueqing Yan Min Liu Xiaojun Fu Guofeng Zhao Pu Yao Lili Wang He Dai Xuming Li Wei Xiong Wencai Xu Hongkun Zheng Haiyan Yu Shihua Shen | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,5: | 18 |

| 8 | Symptoms of long-term exposure to moxa smoke in acupuncturists: a correlation analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of long-term exposure to moxa smoke on acupuncturists and to consider the association between physical symptoms and gender, age, secondhand smoke(SHS) exposure, and the duration of exposure.METHODS: A self-report, web-based questionnaire was used to evaluate the effects of moxa smoke onacupuncturists. Logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between physical symptoms and possible correlative factors.RESULTS: A total of 858 questionnaires were analyzed. The data showed that 42.42% of acupuncturists had been exposed to moxa smoke for 5-10 years. The most frequent symptom was tearing(32.98%) and the least frequent symptom was asthma(5.24%). Logistic regression analysis showed that female acupuncturists were slightly more susceptible to cough and tearing than males(cough:OR: 1.583, 95% CI: 1.079, 2.321, P = 0.019; tearing:OR: 1.519, 95% CI: 1.094, 2.108, P = 0.013). Acupuncturists aged over 25 years reported a slightly lower incidence of eye itchiness than those aged under25 years(26-40 years: OR: 0.604, 95% CI: 0.379,0.965, P = 0.035; over 40 years: OR: 0.330, 95% CI:0.114, 0.958, P = 0.042). Ophthalmodynia occurred less in acupuncturists aged 26-40 years(OR: 0.591,95% CI: 0.359, 0.970, P = 0.038) than in those younger than 25 years. The only association between prevalence of symptoms and tobacco use and SHS exposure was that smokers had a lower occurrence of phlegm in the throat(OR: 0.579, 95% CI: 0.392,0.856, P = 0.006). Shortness of breath was less frequent in participants exposed to moxa smoke for more than 5 years(5-10 years: OR: 0.400, 95% CI:0.204, 0.785, P = 0.008; 11-20 years: OR: 0.392, 95%CI: 0.178, 0.864, P = 0.02), but a slightly higher incidence of eye itchiness was found in those with over20 years of moxa exposure(OR: 4.200, 95% CI:1.344, 3.128, P = 0.014).CONCLUSION: The most frequent symptom of moxa smoke exposure in acupuncturists was tear-ing. | 13 | Significantly enhanced oxygen reduction activity of Cu/CuN_xC_y co-decorated ketjenblack catalyst for Al–air batteries显示文摘Highly efficient and non-precious catalysts are imperative for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) to replace Pt/C. Anchoring efficient active species to carbon supports is a promising and scalable strategy. Here we synthesize Cu nanoparticles and noncrystalline CuN_xC_y species co-decorated ketjenblack(KB) carbon catalyst(denoted as Cu-N-KB-acid) by a facile and scalable method using copper sulfate, melamine, and KB as raw materials. An initial one-pot hydrothermal treatment is designed before pyrolysis process to achieve the good distribution of Cu and melamine on KB via a possible chelation effect. Owing to the synergistic effect of Cu and CuN_xC_y on KB, this composite catalyst displays excellent ORR catalytic activity in alkaline solution, which is comparable to the commercial 20% Pt/C. Then, inorder to damp the sub-synchronous oscillation, a coordinateddamping optimization control strategy for wind power generatorsand their reactive power compensators is proposed. | 18 | Antithymocyte globulin/antilymphocyte globulin plus kidney-nourishing Chinese Medicinal:effect on severe aplastic anemia显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect of antithymocyte globulin(ATG)/antilymphocyte globulin(ALG) plus kidney-nourishing Chinese medicinal(KNCM) on severe aplastic anemia(SAA).METHODS:Twenty-five subjects of severe aplastic anemia were treated with ATG/ALD plus KNCM between 1992 and 2009,and the clinical data before and after treatment were collected and analyzed.RESULTS:Of the 25 patients,9 were nearly cured,6 were improved,5 were in remission,and 5 failed.The overall effective rate was 80.0%.The 3-year,5-year,10-year,15-year survival rate were respectively 98.6%,97.3%,97.3%,67.5%,and median survival time was 180 months.Compared to the conditions before administering the medication of ATG/ALG plus KNCM,after 2 weeks,reticulocyte was first improved(P=0.001);one month later,followed by palette(P=0.037);two months later,by neutrophil cell in peripheral blood(P=0.001);three months later,then by the hemoglobin(P=0.012).By conducting 1-year follow-up,1 case of complication-paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria(PNH) was identified and the patient still alive today.CONCLUSION:ATG/ALG plus KNCM had better effect on SAA and could improve patients' survival rate. | Xudong Tang Feng Liu Liu Li Chi Liu Shanshan Zhang Haiyan Xiao Chunmei Zheng Shu Xu Rou Ma | 2012 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4: | 3 |
| 19 | Regulating closed pore structure enables significantly improved sodium storage for hard carbon pyrolyzing at relatively low temperature显示文摘The closed pore has been considered as the key structure for Na ion storage in hard carbon.However,the traditional view is that closed pores can only be formed by the curling of graphite-like crystallites in the case of high temperature carbonization.Ingenious designing of closed pore structures at lower temperature is still blank.Herein,for the first time,engineering the wall thickness and number of closed pores in waste rosewood-derived hard carbon was successfully achieved at a low temperature of 1100℃ by removing the lignin and hemicellulose components in wood precursor.When applied as an anode material,the optimum sample exhibits a high capacity of 326 mAh/g at 20 mA/g and a remarkable rate capability of 230mAh/g at 5000 mA/g,significantly higher than those of the untreated sample(only 33 mAh/g at 5000 mA/g).The significantly improved Na storage performance should be attributed to abundant closed pores that provide sufficient spaces forNa storage and thin porewall structure that is beneficial to the diffusion of Na^(+)in the bulk phase.This work provides a new idea for the future application of biomass-based hard carbon for advanced Na ion batteries. | Siyu Zhou Zheng Tang Zhiyi Pan Yuancheng Huang Le Zhao Xi Zhang Dan Sun Yougen Tang Abdelghaffar S.Dhmees Haiyan Wang | 2022 | SusMat2022,2,3: | 2 |
| 20 | Cu/Cu_(2)O nanoparticles co-regulated carbon catalyst for alkaline Al-air batteries显示文摘Developing high-efficiency,inexpensive,and steady non-precious metal oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) catalysts to displace Pt-based catalysts is significant for commercial applications of Al-air battery.Here,we have prepared the Cu/Cu_(2)O-NC catalyst with excellent ORR performance and high stability,due to the synergistic effect of Cu and Cu_(2)O nanoparticles.The half-wave potential(0.8 V) and the limiting-current density(5.20 mA/cm^(2)) of the Cu/Cu_(2)O-NC are very close to those of the 20% Pt/C catalyst(0.82 V,5.10 mA/cm^(2)).Besides,it exhibits excellent performance with a maximal power density of 250 mW/cm^(2) and a stable continuous discharge for more than 90 h in the Al-air battery test The promoting effects of Cu_(2)O towards Cu-based ORR catalysts are illustrated as follows:(ⅰ) Cu_(2)O is the major ORR active site by the redox of Cu(Ⅱ)/Cu(Ⅰ),which provides excellent ORR activities;(ⅱ) Cu can stabilize the location of Cu_(2)O by assisting the electron transfer to Cu(Ⅱ)/Cu(Ⅰ) redox,which is conducive to the high stability of the catalyst.This work provides a useful strategy for enhancing the ORR performance of Cu-based catalysts. | Jing Tian Depei Liu Jingsha Li Dan Sun Hongtao Liu Haiyan Wang Yougen Tang | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,8: | 2 |
