1Disentangling the effects of topography and space on the distributions of dominant species in a subtropical forest显示文摘Topography and space are two important factors determining plant species assemblages in forest communities.Quantification of the contribution of these two factors in determining species distribution helps us to evaluate their relative importance in determining species assemblages.This study aims to disentangle the effect of topography and space on the distributions of 14 dominant species in a subtropical mixed forest.Spearman correlation analysis and the torustranslation test were used to test the species–habitat associations.Variation partitioning was used to quantify the relative contributions of topography and space at three sampling scales and three life stages.Correlation analyses and torus-translation tests showed species abundance was mostly correlated with topographic wetness index,vertical distance from the channel network and convexity.Variation partitioning showed that pure topography,pure space and spatially structured topography explained about 2.1 %,41.2 % and 13.8 %of the variation in species distributions,respectively.For nine species,total topography fractions peaked in 20 m quadrats.For ten species,the pure space fractions peaked in 50 m quadrats.For many species,the total topography fraction andthe pure space fraction were larger for the most abundant life stages,which reflected the importance of sampling effect.However,some cases did not follow this trend suggesting that the effects of ecological processes such as habitat filtering,density dependence or dispersal limitation may exceed the sampling effects.In conclusion,we found that spatially structured topography and pure space primarily shaped the distribution of dominant tree species.Furthermore,their effects were both scale- and life stage-dependent.Qinggang Wang Yaozhan Xu Zhijun Lu Dachuan Bao Yili Guo Junmeng Lu Kuihan Zhang Haibo Liu Hongjie Meng Xiujuan Qiao Handong Huang Mingxi Jiang 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,35:16
2Natural products against hematological malignancies and identification of their targets显示文摘Naturally occurring molecules derived from higher plants, animals, microorganisms and minerals play an important role in the discovery and development of novel therapeutic agents. The identification of molecular targets is of interest to elucidate the mode of action of these compounds, and it may be employed to set up target-based assays and allow structure-activity relationship studies to guide medicinal chemistry efforts toward lead optimization. In recent years, plant-derived natural compounds possessing potential anti-tumor activities have been garnering much interest and efforts are underway to identify their molecular targets. 3Waveguide design and application with transformation optics显示文摘Waveguide design becomes more and more important with the increasing demand of efcient routing and interconnection of electromagnetic signals for advanced information technologies.Here we review the basic theory,special techniques,and potential applications of transformation optics in waveguide design.Three major design strategies of transformation optics and their limitations in waveguide applications are discussed.The recent new trends of transformation techniques by imposing specifc restrictions from materials are emphasized for practical implementation.Plasmonic waveguide is used as an example to compare these transformation strategies.Applications beyond waveguides but with great practical value such as super-resolution hyperlens design are also discussed in the context of waveguiding phenomena from the perspective of transformation optics.XU HongYi SUN HanDong ZHANG BaiLe 2013Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,12:2
4MXene Enhanced 3D Needled Waste Denim Felt for High‑Performance Flexible Supercapacitors显示文摘MXene,a transition metal carbide/nitride,has been prominent as an ideal electrochemical active material for supercapacitors.However,the low MXene load limits its practical applications.As environmental concerns and sustainable development become more widely recognized,it is necessary to explore a greener and cleaner technology to recycle textile by-products such as cotton.The present study proposes an effective 3D fabrication method that uses MXene to fabricate waste denim felt into ultralight and flexible supercapacitors through needling and carbonization.The 3D structure provided more sites for loading MXene onto Z-directional fiber bundles,resulting in more efficient ion exchange between the electrolyte and electrodes.Furthermore,the carbonization process removed the specific adverse groups in MXenes,further improving the specific capacitance,energy density,power density and electrical conductivity of supercapacitors.The electrodes achieve a maximum specific capacitance of 1748.5 mF cm-2 and demonstrate remarkable cycling stability maintaining more than 94%after 15,000 galvanostatic charge/discharge cycles.Besides,the obtained supercapacitors present a maximum specific capacitance of 577.5 mF cm^(-2),energy density of 80.2μWh cm^(-2)and power density of 3 mW cm^(-2),respectively.The resulting supercapacitors can be used to develop smart wearable power devices such as smartwatches,laying the foundation for a novel strategy of utilizing waste cotton in a high-quality manner.Wei Fan Qi Wang Kai Rong Yang Shi Wanxi Peng Handong Li Zhanhu Guo Ben Bin Xu Hua Hou Hassan Algadi Shengbo Ge 2024Nano-Micro Letters2024,16,2:0
5Experimental Investigation of Lower Hybrid Wave Coupling in HT-7显示文摘Experiments on lower hybrid wave(LHW)coupling were investigated in the HT-7 tokamak.Good coupling of LHW plasma has been demonstrated at different conditions in the HT-7 tokamak.Relevant results have proved that LHW-plasma coupling is affected by the phase difference between adjacent waveguides.Furthermore,the edge density around the grill and relevant coupling can be adjusted by changing the plasma line average density or the gap value between the LH grill and the last closed flux surfaces(LCFS).It is found that the coupling of LHWs becomes poor when the edge density around the LH grill is large enough in the HT-7tokamak,and that coupling remains good with a proper edge density.With increasing LHW power,it is also found that the reflection coefficients(RCs)increase due to non-linear effects under conditions of low edge recycling,but can decrease under high edge recycling.The edge density depends mainly on the competition between the ponderomotive force(PMF)and the edge recycling intensity in the HT-7 tokamak.KONG Erhua DING Bojiang ZHANG Ting QIN Yongliang SHAN Jiafang LIU Fukun LI Miaohui ZHANG Lei WANG Mao LIU Liang XU Handong JIA Hua WU Zege FENG Jianqiang ZHAO Lianmin YANG Yong 2013Plasma Science and Technology2013,15,10:0

7Wear mechanism and debris analysis of PEEK as an alternative to CoCrMo in the femoral component of total knee replacement显示文摘The polyetheretherketone(PEEK)-highly cross-linked polyethylene(XLPE),all-polymer knee prosthesis has excellent prospects for replacing the traditional metal/ceramic-polyethylene joint prosthesis,improving the service life of the joint prosthesis and the quality of patients’life.The long-term wear mechanism of PEEK-XLPE knee joint prosthesis is comprehensively evaluated from wear amount,wear morphology,and wear debris compared to that of CoCrMo-XLPE joint prosthesis.After 5 million cycles of in vitro wear,the wear loss of XLPE in PEEK-XLPE(30.9±3.2 mg)is lower than that of XLPE in CoCrMo-XLPE(32.1±3.1 mg).Compared to the XLPE in CoCrMo-XLPE,the plastic deformation of XLPE in PEEK-XLPE is more severe in the early stage,and the adhesive peeling and adhesion are lighter in the later stage.The size distribution of XLPE wear debris in PEEK-XLPE is relatively dispersed,which in CoCrMo-XLPE is relatively concentrated.Wear debris is mainly flake and block debris,and the wear mechanism of XLPE was abrasive wear.The wear volume per unit area of PEEK femoral condyle(10.45×10^(5)μm^(3)/mm^(2))is higher than that of CoCrMo(8.32×10^(5)μm^(3)/mm^(2)).The PEEK surface is mainly furrows and adhesions,while the CoCrMo surface is mainly furrows and corrosion spots.The PEEK wear debris is mainly in flakes and blocks,and the CoCrMo wear debris is mainly in the shape of rods and blocks.The wear mechanism of PEEK is abrasive wear and adhesion,and that of CoCrMo is abrasive wear and corrosion.Xinyue ZHANG Tao ZHANG Kai CHEN Handong XU Cunao FENG Dekun ZHANG 2023Friction2023,11,10:0
8Morphology controllable urchin-shaped bimetallic nickel-cobalt oxide/carbon composites with enhanced electromagnetic wave absorption performance显示文摘The microscopic morphology of electromagnetic wave absorbers influences the multiple reflections of electromagnetic waves and impedance matching,determining the absorption properties.Herein,the urchin-shaped bimetallic nickel-cobalt oxide/carbon(NiCo_(2)O_(4)/C)composites are prepared via a hy-drothermal route,whose absorption properties are investigated by different morphologies regulated by changing calcination temperature.A minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))of-75.26 dB is achieved at a match-ing thickness of 1.5 mm,and the effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 8.96 GHz is achieved at 2 mm.Multi-advantages of the synthesized NiCo_(2)O_(4)/C composites contribute to satisfactory absorption proper-ties.First,the interweaving of the needle-like structures increases the opportunities for scattering and multiple reflections of incident electromagnetic waves,and builds up a conductive network to facilitate the enhancement of conductive losses.Second,the carbon component in the NiCo_(2)O_(4)/C composites en-hances the interfacial polarization and reduces the density of the absorber.Besides,generous oxygen va-cancy defects are introduced into the NiCo_(2)O_(4)/C composites,which induces defect polarization and dipole polarization.In summary,the ternary coordination of components,defects and morphology led to out-standing electromagnetic wave absorption,which lightened the path for improving the electromagnetic wave absorption property and enriching the family of NiCo_(2)O_(4) absorbers with excellent performance.Fushan Li Qiuyu Li Hideo Kimura Xiubo Xie Xiaoyu Zhang Nannan Wu Xueqin Sun Ben Bin Xu Hassan Algadi Rami Adel Pashameah Abdullah K.Alanazi Eman Alzahrani Handong Li Wei Du Zhanhu Guo Chuanxin Hou 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,17:0
