| 1 | On the origin and continuing evolution of SARS-CoV-2显示文摘The SARS-Co V-2 epidemic started in late December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and has since impacted a large portion of China and raised major global concern. Herein, we investigated the extent of molecular divergence between SARS-CoV-2 and other related coronaviruses. Although we found only 4% variability in genomic nucleotides between SARS-CoV-2 and a bat SARS-related coronavirus(SARSr-CoV;Ra TG13), the difference at neutral sites was 17%, suggesting the divergence between the two viruses is much larger than previously estimated. Our results suggest that the development of new variations in functional sites in the receptor-binding domain(RBD) of the spike seen in SARS-Co V-2 and viruses from pangolin SARSr-Co Vs are likely caused by natural selection besides recombination. Population genetic analyses of 103 SARS-CoV-2 genomes indicated that these viruses had two major lineages(designated L and S), that are well defined by two different SNPs that show nearly complete linkage across the viral strains sequenced to date. We found that L lineage was more prevalent than the S lineage within the limited patient samples we examined. | 2 | Response of Pinus koraiensis seedling growth to different light conditions based on the assessment of photosynthesis in current and one-year-old needles显示文摘As one of the three major five-leaved pines in the northern hemisphere,Pinus koraiensis is the most important dominant tree species in the natural mixed-broadleaved Korean pine forests.However,the regeneration of P.koraiensis under the canopy of secondary forest stands is poor because of the light limitation.This study was conducted to understand how P.koraiensis seedlings adapt to different light intensities and what would be the optimum light level for their establishment and growth.Three repetition plots with four light intensities(15%,30%,60%and 100%of the natural incident irradiances,achieved by suspending layers of black nylon net above and surrounding the plots)were set up under natural climate conditions in a montane region in eastern Liaoning Province,Northeast China.A total of 80 P.koraiensis seedlings with similar height and root collar diameter were transplanted into four plots.After one year of acclimation to the specific light conditions,the seasonal variations of the photosynthetic variables and needle traits of the current and one-year-old needles,and the growth parameters were observed under four light intensities.The results indicated that:(1)The seedling at60%treatment exhibited the greatest growth,which agreed with the response of the light-saturated photosynthetic rates(Amax)and the dark respiration rate(Rd)in the current and one-year-old needles,i.e.,Rd at60%treatment was significantly lower than that at 100%treatment,but Amax did not differ between the seedlings at 100%and 60%treatments.(2)The P.koraiensis seedlings have a certain photosynthetic plasticity to adapt the light conditions by adjusting their needle traits and regulating the physiological processes,because Amax,Rd,light saturation point and compensation point,the needle mass area,needle nitrogen and chlorophyll contents were significantly(p<0.05)correlated with the light intensities.Especially,Amax at 100%and 60%treatments was significantly higher(p<0.05)than that at 30%and 15%treatments for both current and one-year-old needles.(3)The needles of different ages played a commutative role during the growing season,i.e.,the one-year-old needles played a major role for the photosynthesis in the early growing season;the current year needles did in the later growing season.This ensured the effective photosynthesis throughout the growing season.These findings suggest that P.koraiensis is the in-between heliophilous and shade-tolerant tree species at least for the seedlings up to 8 years. | Jiaojun Zhu Kai Wang Yirong Sun Qiaoling Yan | 2014 | Journal of Forestry Research2014,25,1: | 13 |

On this basis, the host protection mobile agent protection technology is selected, and a method to enhance the security protection of mobile agents (referred to as IEOP method) is proposed. The method first encrypts the mobile agent code using the encryption function, and then encapsulates the encrypted mobile agent with the improved EOP protocol IEOP, and then traces the suspicious execution result. | 11 | Vertebrate Dynein-f depends on Wdr78 for axonemal localization and is essential for ciliary beat显示文摘Motile cilia and flagella are microtubule-based organelles important for cell locomotion and extracellular liquid flow through beating. Although axonenal dyneins that drive ciliary beat have been extensively studied in unicellular Chlamydomonas, to what extent such knowledge can be applied to vertebrate is poorly known. In Chlamydomonas, Dynein-f controls flagellar waveforms but is dispensable for beating. The flagellar assembly of its heavy chains (HCs) requires its intermediate chain (IC) IC140 but not IC138. Here we show that, unlike its Chlamydomonas counte『part, vertebrate Dynein-f is essential for ciliary beat. We confirmed that Wdr78 is the vertebrate orthologue of IC3 Wdr78 associated with Dynein-f subunits such as Dnah2 (a HC) and Wdr63 (IC140 orthologue). It was expressed as a motile cilium-specific protein in mammalian cells. Depletion of Wdr78 or Dnah2 by RNAi paralyzed mouse ependymal cilia. Zebrafish Wdr78 morphants displayed ciliopathy-related phenotypes, such as curved bodies, hydrocephalus, abnormal otolith, randomized left-right asymmetry, and pronephric cysts, accompanied with paralyzed pronephric cilia. Furthermore, all the HCs and ICs of Dynein-f failed to localize in the Wdr78-depleted mouse ependymal cilia. | 16 | Molecular Simulation of Transesterification of Ethylene Carbonate and Methanol Catalyzed by Ionic Liquids显示文摘Four ionic liquids [BMIM]OH, [BMIM]IM, [BMIM]Br, and [BMIM]PF6 were synthesized and characterized by infrared spectroscopy. Then the effects of ionic liquids(ILs), cocatalysts, and reaction temperature on the catalytic performance for transesterification of ethylene carbonate and methanol were investigated with orthogonal experiments. The influence of cations and anions of ILs on catalytic activity was revealed by the density functional theory(DFT). The reaction mechanism was proposed based on the experimental results and DFT. The results demonstrated that the optimal catalyst was [Bmim]PF6/CaO, which exhibited the advantages of high activity, excellent stability, and easy recycling. Under the optimized conditions covering a catalytic temperature of 130 °C, an ionic liquid/cocatalyst mass ratio of 5:1, and a catalyst dosage of 4.0%, the conversion rate could reach 65.23% with a dimethyl carbonate selectivity of 98.95%. | 18 | Source identification and prediction of nitrogen and phosphorus pollution of Lake Taihu by an ensemble machine learning technique显示文摘Effective control of lake eutrophication necessitates a full understanding of the complicated nitrogen and phosphorus pollution sources,for which mathematical modeling is commonly adopted.In contrast to the conventional knowledge-based models that usually perform poorly due to insufficient knowledge of pollutant geochemical cycling,we employed an ensemble machine learning(ML)model to identify the key nitrogen and phosphorus sources of lakes.Six ML models were developed based on 13 years of historical data of Lake Taihu’s water quality,environmental input,and meteorological conditions,among which the XGBoost model stood out as the best model for total nitrogen(TN)and total phosphorus(TP)prediction.The results suggest that the lake TN is mainly affected by the endogenous load and inflow river water quality,while the lake TP is predominantly from endogenous sources.The prediction of the lake TN and TP concentration changes in response to these key feature variations suggests that endogenous source control is a highly desirable option for lake eutrophication control.Finally,one-month-ahead prediction of lake TN and TP concentrations(R2 of 0.85 and 0.95,respectively)was achieved based on this model with sliding time window lengths of 9 and 6 months,respectively.Our work demonstrates the great potential of using ensemble ML models for lake pollution source tracking and prediction,which may provide valuable references for early warning and rational control of lake eutrophication. | Yirong Hu Wenjie Du Cheng Yang Yang Wang Tianyin Huang Xiaoyi Xu Wenwei Li | 2023 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,5: | 1 |
