| 2 | Transcription factor ZmNAC126 plays an important role in transcriptional regulation of maize starch synthesis-related genes显示文摘Maize(Zea mays L.)is one of the most important food crops in the world,and starch is the main component of its endosperm.Transcriptional regulation plays a vital role in starch biosynthesis.However,it is not well understood in maize.We report the identification of the transcription factor ZmNAC126 and its role in regulation of starch synthesis in maize.Transcriptional expression of ZmNAC126 was higher in maize endosperm and kernels than in roots or stems.ZmNAC126 shared a similar expression pattern with starch synthesis genes during seed development,and its expression pattern was also consistent with the accumulation of starch.ZmNAC126 is a typical transcription factor with a transactivation domain between positions 201 and 227 of the amino acid sequence,is located in the nucleus,and binds to CACG repeats in vitro.Yeast one-hybrid assay revealed that ZmNAC126 bound the promoters of ZmGBSSI,ZmSSIIa,ZmSSIV,ZmISA1,and ZmISA2.Transient overexpression of ZmNAC126 in maize endosperm increased the activities of promoters pZmSh2,pZmBt2,pZmGBSSI,pZmSSIIIa,and pZmBT1 but inhibited the activities of pZmISA1 and pZmISA2.ZmNAC126 thus acts in starch synthesis by transcriptionally regulating targeted starch synthesis-related genes in maize kernels. | Qianlin Xiao Yayun Wang Hui Li Chunxia Zhang Bin Wei Yongbin Wang Huanhuan Huang Yangping Li Guowu Yu Hanmei Liu Junjie Zhang Yinghong Liu Yufeng Hu Yubi Huang | 2021 | The Crop Journal2021,9,1: | 5 |
| 3 | Trends in insulin resistance:insights into mechanisms and therapeutic strategy显示文摘The centenary of insulin discovery represents an important opportunity to transform diabetes from a fatal diagnosis into a medically manageable chronic condition.Insulin is a key peptide hormone and mediates the systemic glucose metabolism in different tissues.Insulin resistance(IR)is a disordered biological response for insulin stimulation through the disruption of different molecular pathways in target tissues.Acquired conditions and genetic factors have been implicated in IR.Recent genetic and biochemical studies suggest that the dysregulated metabolic mediators released by adipose tissue including adipokines,cytokines,chemokines,excess lipids and toxic lipid metabolites promote IR in other tissues.IR is associated with several groups of abnormal syndromes that include obesity,diabetes,metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD),cardiovascular disease,polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS),and other abnormalities.Although no medication is specifically approved to treat IR,we summarized the lifestyle changes and pharmacological medications that have been used as efficient intervention to improve insulin sensitivity.Ultimately,the systematic discussion of complex mechanism will help to identify potential new targets and treat the closely associated metabolic syndrome of IR. | Mengwei Li Xiaowei Chi Ying Wang Sarra Setrerrahmane Wenwei Xie Hanmei Xu | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,8: | 5 |
| 4 | Ultrathin Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)(MXene) Nanosheet-Wrapped NiSe_(2) Octahedral Crystal for Enhanced Supercapacitor Performance and Synergetic Electrocatalytic Water Splitting显示文摘Metal selenides,such as NiSe2,have exhibited great potentials as multifunctional materials for energy storage and conversation.However,the utilization of pure NiSe2 as electrode materials is limited by its poor cycling stability,low electrical conductivity,and insufficient electrochemically active sites.To remedy these defects,herein,a novel NiSe2/Ti3C2Tx hybrid with strong interfacial interaction and electrical properties is fabricated,by wrapping NiSe2 octahedral crystal with ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheet.The NiSe2/Ti3C2Tx hybrid exhibits excellent electrochemical performance,with a high specific capacitance of 531.2 Fg-1 at1 A g-1 for supercapacitor,low overpotential of 200 mV at 10 mA g-1,and small Tafel slope of 37.7 mV dec-1 for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Furthermore,greater cycling stabilities for NiSe2/Ti3C2Tx hybrid in both supercapacitor and HER have also been achieved.These significant improvements compared with unmodified NiSe2 should be owing to thestrong interfacial interaction between NiSe2 octahedral crystal and Ti3C2Tx MXene,which provides enhanced conductivity,fast charge transfer as well as abundant active sites,and highlight the promising potentials in combinations of MXene with metal selenides for multifunctional applications such as energy storage and conversion. | Hanmei Jiang Zegao Wang Qian Yang Luxi Tan Lichun Dong Mingdong Dong | 2019 | Nano-Micro Letters2019,11,2: | 4 |
| 5 | Automated generation and ensemble-learned matching of X-ray absorption spectra显示文摘X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS)is a widely used materials characterization technique to determine oxidation states,coordination environment,and other local atomic structure information.Analysis of XAS relies on comparison of measured spectra to reliable reference spectra.However,existing databases of XAS spectra are highly limited both in terms of the number of reference spectra available as well as the breadth of chemistry coverage.In this work,we report the development of XASdb,a large database of computed reference XAS,and an Ensemble-Learned Spectra IdEntification(ELSIE)algorithm for the matching of spectra.XASdb currently hosts more than 800,000 K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge spectra(XANES)for over 40,000 materials from the open-science Materials Project database.We discuss a high-throughput automation framework for FEFF calculations,built on robust,rigorously benchmarked parameters.FEFF is a computer program uses a real-space Green’s function approach to calculate X-ray absorption spectra.We will demonstrate that the ELSIE algorithm,which combines 33 weak“learners”comprising a set of preprocessing steps and a similarity metric,can achieve up to 84.2% accuracy in identifying the correct oxidation state and coordination environment of a test set of 19 K-edge XANES spectra encompassing a diverse range of chemistries and crystal structures.The XASdb with the ELSIE algorithm has been integrated into a web application in the Materials Project,providing an important new public resource for the analysis of XAS to all materials researchers.Finally,the ELSIE algorithm itself has been made available as part of veidt,an open source machine-learning library for materials science. | Chen Zheng Kiran Mathew Chi Chen Yiming Chen Hanmei Tang Alan Dozier Joshua J.Kas Fernando D.Vila John J.Rehr Louis F.J.Piper Kristin A.Persson Shyue Ping Ong | 2018 | npj Computational Materials2018,,1: | 3 |

| 8 | Developing hierarchical CdS/NiO hollow heterogeneous architectures for boosting photocatalytic hydrogen generation显示文摘The hierarchical binary CdS/NiO hollow heterogeneous architectures(HHAs)with p–n heterojunction are constructed by a facile microwave-assisted wet chemical process for high-efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)from water.The as-designed CdS/NiO HHAs are composed of hexagonal n-type CdS nanoparticles with a size in the range of 20–40 nm attaching to cubic p-type NiO hollow microspheres(HMSs)which are aggregates of porous nanoplates with a thickness of about 20 nm.The photocatalytic water splitting over CdS/NiO HHAs is significantly increased under simulated solar irradiation,among which the most active sample of CdS/NiO-3(the mass ratio of CdS to NiO is 1:3)exhibits the fastest photocatalytic HER rate of 1.77 mmol∙g^(−1)∙h^(−1),being 16.2 times than that of pure CdS.The boosted photocatalytic HER could be attributed to the synergistic effect on the proportional p–n heterojunction with special hierarchical hollow and porous morphology,an enhancement of visible light absorption,and an improvement of photoinduced charge separation as well as the photo-stability given by the composite heterojunction.This work shows a viable strategy to design the heterojunction with special morphology for the efficient hydrogen generation by water splitting utilizing solar energy. | Chonghai Deng Fan Ye Tao Wang Xiaohui Ling Lulu Peng Hong Yu Kangzhe Ding Hanmei Hu Qiang Dong Huirong Le Yongsheng Han | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,3: | 2 |

[Methods] Using HS-SPME-GC-MS,the qualitative analysis was performed on the low melting point fat constituents of black soybeans; using peak area normalization method,the relative content of constituents was calculated. [Results]A total of 42 peaks were identified from the low melting point fat constituents of the black soybeans with yellow heart,and 18 kinds of chemical constituents were identified,accounting for 81.39% of total relative content of low melting point fat constituents; a total of 37 peaks were identified from the low melting point fat constituents of the black soybeans with green heart,and 15 kinds of chemical constituents were identified,accounting for 83.24% of total relative content of low melting point fat constituents. There were 9 kinds of common chemical constituents for the two kinds of black soybeans,and 5-allylguaiacol had the highest relative content,followed by hexanol.
