| 2 | Adsorption of benzene, cyclohexane and hexane on ordered mesoporous carbon显示文摘Ordered mesoporous carbon(OMC) with high specific surface area and large pore volume was synthesized and tested for use as an adsorbent for volatile organic compound(VOC)disposal. Benzene, cyclohexane and hexane were selected as typical adsorbates due to their different molecular sizes and extensive utilization in industrial processes. In spite of their structural differences, high adsorption amounts were achieved for all three adsorbates, as the pore size of OMC is large enough for the access of these VOCs. In addition, the unusual bimodal-like pore size distribution gives the adsorbates a higher diffusion rate compared with conventional adsorbents such as activated carbon and carbon molecular sieve. Kinetic analysis suggests that the adsorption barriers mainly originated from the difficulty of VOC vapor molecules entering the pore channels of adsorbents. | 4 | Formation control of multiple Euler-Lagrange systems via null-space-based behavioral control显示文摘This paper addresses the formation control problem of multiple Euler-Lagrange systems with model uncertainties in the environment containing obstacles. Utilizing the null-space-based(NSB) behavioral control architecture, the proposed problem can be decomposed into elementary missions(behaviors) with different priorities and implemented by each individual system. A class of novel coordination control algorithms is constructed and utilized to achieve accurate formation task while avoiding obstacles and guaranteeing the model uncertainty rejection objective. By using sliding mode control and Lyapunov theory, the formation performance in closed-loop multi-agent systems is proven achievable if the state-dependent gain of the obstacle avoidance mission is appropriately designed. | 7 | Phase equilibria for the pseudo-ternary system(NaCl+Na2SO4+H2O)of coal gasification wastewater at T=(268.15 to 373.15)K显示文摘The pseudo-ternary system(Na Cl + Na_2SO_4+ H_2O) of coal gasification wastewater was studied at T =(268.15 to 373.15) K. The solubility and density of the equilibrium liquid phase were determined by the isothermal solution saturation method. The equilibrium solids were also investigated by the Schreinemaker's method of wet residues and X-ray powder diffraction(XRD). According to the experimental data, the phase diagrams were determined. It was found that there was no significant solubility difference on the Na Cl-rich side between the ternary system(Na Cl + Na_2SO_4+ H_2O) in coal gasification wastewater and in pure water. However, the solubility on the Na_2SO_4-rich side of coal gasification wastewater was apparently higher than that of pure water. The increase in the solubility of Na_2SO_4 was most likely caused by the effects of other impurities apart from Na Cl and Na_2SO_4 in coal gasification wastewater. | 8 | The expression and binding properties of the rice WRKY68 protein in the Xa21-mediated resistance response to Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae显示文摘Plant WRKY transcription factors are involved in various physiological processes, including biotic and abiotic stress responses, as well as developmental processes. In this study, the expression patterns of the WRKY68 protein during interactions between rice 4021 containing the bacterial blight resistance gene Xa21 and Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae(Xoo) were investigated. A possible modified form of the WRKY68 protein appeared in the Xa21-mediated disease resistance response, and its expression levels were similar in compatible and incompatible responses, but differed significantly from that of the mock control treatment, suggesting that WRKY68 may be involved in the bacterial blight response in rice. To further understand WRKY68's roles in the resistance signaling pathway, WRKY68 recombinant protein was expressed in Escherichia coli and a microscale thermophoresis analysis was performed to investigate the interactions between WRKY68 and cis-elements in crucial pathogenesis-related(PR) genes. The results showed that the WRKY68 protein binds to W-boxes in the PR1 b promoter region, with an apparent dissociation constant of 25 nmol L–1, while the binding between WRKY68 and PR10 a was W-box independent. The results suggested that a possible modified form of the WRKY68 protein was induced during the interaction between rice and Xoo, which then regulated the activity of the downstream PR genes by binding with the W-boxes in the PR1 b gene's promoter region. | 9 | Determination of PCDD/Fs and dioxin-like PCBs in food and feed using gas chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry显示文摘A method was developed on a gas chromatograph coupled to a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer(GC-MS/MS) for trace level determination of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins/dibenzofurans(PCDD/Fs) and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls(DL-PCBs) in food and feed. The results demonstrated good sensitivity and repeatability for PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs at an extremely low level(10 pg mL^(-1) for 2,3,7,8-TCDD/F), as well as wide linear response of over 3 or 4 orders of magnitude in concentration ranges; 0.5–200 ng mL^(-1) for PeCDD/F and 0.2–2000 ng mL^(-1) for DL-PCBs. The method detection limits for PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs were in the range from 0.018–0.17 pg g^(-1) to 0.13–0.36 pg g^(-1), respectively. The performance of the GC-MS/MS for food and feed sample analysis showed high precision and accuracy compared to the high resolution gas chromatograph/high resolution mass spectrometer. | 16 | Can DKI-MRI predict recurrence and invasion of peritumoral zone of hepatocellular carcinoma after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization?显示文摘BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a major cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide.Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE)has been performed as a palliative treatment for patients with HCC.However,HCC is easy to recur after TACE.Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)has clinical potential in evaluating the TACE treatment effect for patients with liver cancer.However,traditional MRI has some limitations.AIM To explore the clinical potential of diffusion kurtosis imaging(DKI)in predicting recurrence and cellular invasion of the peritumoral liver zone of HCC after TACE.METHODSSeventy-six patients with 82 HCC nodules were recruited in this study and underwent DKI afterTACE. According to pathological examinations or the overall modified response evaluationcriteria in solid tumors (mRECIST) criterion, 48 and 34 nodules were divided into true progressionand pseudo-progression groups, respectively. The TACE-treated area, peritumoral liver zone, andfar-tumoral zone were evaluated on DKI-derived metric maps. Non-parametric U test and receiveroperating characteristic curve (ROC) analysis were used to evaluate the prediction performance ofeach DKI metric between the two groups. The independent t-test was used to compare each DKImetric between the peritumoral and far-tumoral zones of the true progression group.RESULTSDKI metrics, including mean diffusivity (MD), axial diffusivity (DA), radial diffusivity (DR), axialkurtosis (KA), and anisotropy fraction of kurtosis (Fak), showed statistically different valuesbetween the true progression and pseudo-progression groups (P < 0.05). Among these, MD, DA,and DR values were higher in pseudo-progression lesions than in true progression lesions,whereas KA and FAk values were higher in true progression lesions than in pseudo-progressionlesions. Moreover, for the true progression group, the peritumoral zone showed significantlydifferent DA, DR, KA, and FAk values from the far-tumoral zone. Furthermore, MD values of theliver parenchyma (peritumoral and far-tumoral zones) were significantly lower in the trueprogression group than in the pseudo-progression group (P < 0.05).CONCLUSIONDKI has been demonstrated with robust performance in predicting the therapeutic response ofHCC to TACE. | 19 | Nitrate removal from aqueous solutions by magnetic cationic hydrogel:Effect of electrostatic adsorption and mechanism显示文摘Excessive nitrate(NO3-)is among the most problematic surface water and groundwater pollutants.In this study,a type of magnetic cationic hydrogel(MCH)is employed for NO3-adsorption and well characterized herein.Its adsorption capacity is considerably pHdependent and achieves the optimal adsorption(maximum NO3--adsorption capacity is95.88±1.24 mg/g)when the pH level is 5.2-8.8.The fitting result using the homogeneous surface diffusion model indicates that the surface/film diffusion controls the adsorption rate,and NO3-approaches the center of MCH particles within 30 min.The diffusion coefficient(Ds)and external mass transfer coefficient(kF)in the liquid phase are1.15×10-6 cm2/min and 4.5×10-6 cm/min,respectively.The MCH is employed to treat surface water that contains 10 mg/L of NO3-,and it is found that the optimal magnetic separation time is 1.6 min.The high-efficiency mass transfer and magnetic separation of MCH during the adsorption-regeneration process favors its application in surface water treatment.Furthermore,the study of the mechanism involved reveals that both-N+(CH3)3 groups and NO3-are convoluted in adsorption via electrostatic interactions.It is further found that ion exchange between NO3-and chlorine occurs. | Junyi Li Shuoxun Dong Yili Wang Xiaomin Dou Haotian Hao | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,5: | 3 |
