| 1 | Development of Mining Technology and Equipment for Seafloor Massive Sulfide Deposits显示文摘Seafloor massive sulfide(SMS) deposits which consist of Au, Ag, Cu, and other metal elements, have been a target of commercial mining in recent decades. The demand for established and reliable commercial mining system for SMS deposits is increasing within the marine mining industry. The current status and progress of mining technology and equipment for SMS deposits are introduced. First, the mining technology and other recent developments of SMS deposits are comprehensively explained and analyzed.The seafloor production tools manufactured by Nautilus Minerals and similar mining tools from Japan for SMS deposits are compared and discussed in turn. Second, SMS deposit mining technology research being conducted in China is described, and a new SMS deposits mining tool is designed according to the environmental requirement. Finally, some new trends of mining technology of SMS deposits are summarized and analyzed. | 3 | Effect of an electrostatic field on gas adsorption and diffusion in tectonic coal显示文摘The characteristics of adsorption, desorption, and diffusion of gas in tectonic coal are important for the prediction of coal and gas outbursts. Three types of coal samples, of which both metamorphic grade and degree of damage is different, were selected from Tongchun, Qilin, and Pingdingshan mines. Using a series of experiments in an electrostatic field, we analyzed the characteristics of gas adsorption and diffusion in tectonic coal. We found that gas adsorption in coal conforms to the Langmuir equation in an electrostatic field. Both the depth of the adsorption potential well and the coal molecular electronegativity increases under the action of an electrostatic field. A Joule heating effect was caused by changing the coal–gas system conductivity in an electrostatic field. The quantity of gas adsorbed and DP result from competition between the depth of the adsorption potential well, the coal molecular electronegativity, and the Joule heating effect. DP peaks when the three factors control behavior equally. Compared with anthracite, the impact of the electrostatic field on the gas diffusion capacity of middle and high rank coals is greater. Compared with the original coal, the gas adsorption quantity, DP, and the gas diffusion capacity of tectonic coal are greater in an electrostatic field. | 6 | A millimeter-sized negatively charged polymer embedded with molybdenum disulfide nanosheets for efficient removal of Pb(Ⅱ)from aqueous solution显示文摘Molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))has excellent trapping ability for lead ions whereas its micro-/nanoscale size has greatly impeded its practical applications in the flow-through systems.Herein,a millimetersized nanocomposite MoS_(2)-001 was synthesized for Pb^(2+)removal by loading MoS_(2) nanosheets into a polystyrene cation exchanger D-001 by a facile hydrothermal method.The proposed structure and adsorption mechanism of MoS_(2)-001 was confirmed by the scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),and X-ray photoelectron spectro scopy(XPS)analysis.The nanocomposite showed outstanding adsorption capacity and rapid adsorption kinetic for Pb^(2+)removal,and the adsorption behavior followed the Langmuir adsorption model and pseudo-firstmodel kinetic model.Pb^(2+)uptake by MoS_(2)-001 still maintains a high level even in the presence of extremely highly competitive ions(Ca(Ⅱ)and Mg(Ⅱ)),suggesting its high selectivity for Pb^(2+)adsorption.Besides,the fixed-bed column experiments further certified that MoS_(2)-001 is of great potential for Pb^(2+)removal from the wastewater in practical engineering applications.Even more gratifying is that the exhausted MoS_(2)-001 can be regenerated by NaCl-EDTANa_(2) solution without any significant adsorption capacity loss.Consequently,all the results indicated that MoS_(2)-001 is a promising candidate adsorbent for lead-containing wastewater treatment. | Guangze Nie Shijun Qiu Xiang Wang Yan Du Qingrui Zhang Yang Zhang Hengle Zhang | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,7: | 0 |

| 8 | Genome wide identification and characterization of MAPK genes reveals their potential in enhancing drought and salt stress tolerance in Gossypium hirsutum显示文摘Background:The cotton crop is universally considered as protein and edible oil source besides the major contributor of natural fiber and is grown in tropical and subtropical regions around the world Unpredicted environmental stresses are becoming significant threats to sustainable cotton production,ultimately leading to a substantial irreversible economic loss.Mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)is generally considered essential for recognizing environmental stresses through phosphorylating downstream signal pathways and plays a vital role in numerous biological processes.Results:We have identified 74 MAPK genes across cotton,41 from G.hirsutum,19 from G.raimondii,whereas 14 have been identified from G.arboreum.The MAPK gene-proteins have been further studied to determine their physicochemical characteristics and other essential features.In this perspective,characterization,phylogenetic relationship,chromosomal mapping,gene motif,cis-regulatory element,and subcellular localization were carried out.Based on phylogenetic analysis,the MAPK family in cotton is usually categorized as A,B,C,D,and E clade.According to the results of the phylogenic relationship,cotton has more MAPKS genes in Clade A than Clade B.The cis-elements identified were classified into five groups(hormone responsiveness,light responsiveness,stress responsiveness,cellular development,and binding site).The prevalence of such elements across the promoter region of these genes signifies their role in the growth and development of plants.Seven GHMAPK genes(GH_A07G1527,GH_D02G1138,GH_D03G0121,GH_D03G1517,GH_D05G1003,GH_D11G0040,and GH_D12G2528)were selected,and specific tissue expression and profiling were performed across drought and salt stresses.Results expressed that six genes were upregulated under drought treatment except for GH_D11G0040 which is downregulated.Whereas all the seven genes have been upregulated at various hours of salt stress treatment.Conclusions:RNA sequence and qPCR results showed that genes as differentially expressed across both vegetative and reproductive plant parts.Similarly,the qPCR analysis showed that six genes had been upregulated substantially through drought treatment while all the seven genes were upregulated across salt treatments.The results of this study showed that cotton GHMPK3 genes play an important role in improving cotton resistance to drought and salt stresses.MAPKs are thought to play a significant regulatory function in plants’responses to abiotic stresses according to various studies.MAPKs’involvement in abiotic stress signaling and innovation is a key goal for crop species research,especially in crop breeding. | SADAU Salisu Bello MEHARI Teame Gereziher AHMAD Adeel TAJO Sani Muhammad IBRAHIM Sani IQBAL Muhammad Shahid ELASAD Mohammed ZHANG Jingjing WEI Hengling YU Shuxun | 2022 | Journal of Cotton Research2022,5,3: | 0 |
