1In-situ stabilisation followed by ex-situ composting for treatment and disposal of heavy metals polluted sediments显示文摘An innovative in-situ stabilisation treatment followed by ex-situ sediment composting was tested for its ability to treat and dispose of heavy-metal-polluted sediments in a river near the Chinese Pearl Delta. First, polluted sediments were treated in-situ to stabilise the heavy metals. Then the treated sediments were dredged, dewatered and sent for high temperature aerobic composting (HTAC) treatment. Finally, the compost products were used as a fertiliser for river bank plants. The stabilisation eciency of heavy metals during the process was investigated and the results are as follows: (1) using in-situ stabilisation, the extraction concentrations of Cu, Zn and Pb were reduced by 65.0%, 82.2% and 90.0%, respectively, which are much lower than the national standard given in the Identification Standard for Hazardous Waste (GB5085.3-1996); (2) chemical fraction analysis showed that heavy metals were further stabilized during the HTAC treatment; (3) the concentrations of Cu, Zn and Pb in rainwater leachate through the river bank met the level of class V in the Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water in China (GB3838-2002). 4Supramolecular vesicles of cationic gemini surfactants modulated by p-sulfonatocalix[4]arene显示文摘Supramolecular binary vesicles were constructed by host-guest complex formation between p-sulfonatocalix[4]arene and three cationic gemini surfactants, which were identified by UV-vis, dynamic laser scattering, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and surface tension experiments. 5The early Japanese books reorganization by combining image processing and deep learning显示文摘Many early Japanese books record a large amount of information,including historical politics,economics,culture,and so on,which are all valuable legacies.These books are waiting to be reorganized at the moment.However,a large amount of the books are described by Kuzushiji,a type of handwriting cursive script that is no longer in use today and only readable by a few experts.Therefore,researchers are trying to detect and recognise the characters from these books through modern techniques.Unfortunately,the characteristics of the Kuzushiji,such as Connect-Separate-characters and Manyvariation,hinder the modern technique assisted re-organisation.Connect-Separatecharacters refer to the case of some characters connecting each other or one character being separated into unconnected parts,which makes character detection hard.Manyvariation is one of the typical characteristics of Kuzushiji,defined as the case that the same character has several variations even if they are written by the same person in the same book at the same time,which increases the difficulty of character recognition.In this sense,this paper aims to construct an early Japanese book reorganisation system by combining image processing and deep learning techniques.The experimentation has been done by testing two early Japanese books.In terms of character detection,the final Recall,Precision and F-value reaches 79.8%,80.3%,and 80.0%,respectively.The deep learning based character recognition accuracy of Top3 reaches 69.52%,and the highest recognition rate reaches 82.57%,which verifies the effectiveness of our proposal.Bing Lyu Hengyi Li Ami Tanaka Lin Meng 2022CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology2022,7,4:1

10Identification of therapeutic drugs against COVID-19 through computational investigation on drug repurposing and structural modification显示文摘Global prevalence of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)calls for an urgent development of anti-viral regime.Compared with the development of new drugs,drug repurposing can significantly reduce the cost,time,and safety risks.Given the fact that coronavirus harnesses spike protein to invade host cells through angiotensinconverting enzyme 2(ACE2),hence we see if any previous anti-virtual compounds can block spike-ACE2 interaction and inhibit the virus entry.The results of molecular docking and molecular dynamic simulations revealed that remdesivir exhibits better than expected anti-viral invasion potential against COVID-19 among the three types of compounds including remdesivir,tenofovir and lopinavir.In addition,a positive correlation between the surface area occupied by remdesivir and anti-viral invasion potential was also found.As such,the structure of remdesivir was modified by linking an N-benzyl substituted diamidine derivative to its hydroxyl group through an ester bond.It was found that this compound has a higher anti-viral invasion potential and greater specificity.Yangfang Yun Hengyi Song Yin Ji Da Huo Feng Han Fei Li Nan Jiang 2020The Journal of Biomedical Research2020,34,6:1

13Cyclic di-adenosine monophosphate regulates the osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation of hPDLSCs via MAPK and NF-κB signaling显示文摘Cyclic di-adenosine monophosphate(c-di-AMP)is a bacterial second messenger that can be recognized by infected host cells and activate the immunoinflammatory response.The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the effect of c-di-AMP on the differentiation of human periodontal ligament stem cells(hPDLSCs)and its underlying mechanisms.In the present study,we find that the gingival crevicular fluid(GCF)of patients with chronic periodontitis has a higher expression level of c-di-AMP than that of healthy people.In vitro,c-di-AMP influences the differentiation of hPDLSCs by upregulating Toll-like receptors(TLRs);specifically,it inhibits osteogenic differentiation by activating NF-κB and ERK/MAPK and promotes adipogenic differentiation through the NF-κB and p38/MAPK signaling pathways.Inhibitors of TLRs or activated pathways reduce the changes induced by c-di-AMP.Our results establish the potential correlation among bacterial c-di-AMP,periodontal tissue homeostasis and chronic periodontitis pathogenesis.Sirui Chen Zuping Wu Yuying He Li Zhu Jiahe Wang Hengyi Lin Jing Xie Chenchen Zhou Shujuan Zou 2023Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,3:1
