Western medication plus Traditional Chinese Medicine preparations in patients with chronic heart failure:a prospective,single-blind,randomized,controlled,and multicenter clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy and safety in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF) of Western medication plus Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) preparations.METHODS: This prospective, single-blind, randomized, controlled, and multicenter clinical trial began on September 17, 2008, and was completed on June 25, 2011. A total of 340 inpatients, aged 40-79 years, with exacerbating CHF from 10 hospitals were enrolled and randomly allocated within 24 h of admission. The trial included three intervention periods. During hospitalization, the control group received western medication for CHF and the treatment group received Danhong injection with Shenfu injection or Shenmai injection. After discharge, all patients were treated with Qiliqiangxin capsules and Buyiqiangxin tablets or a placebo for 6 months. After the 6-month intervention, both groups received only continuous western medication. The primary endpoint was all-cause mortality. The efficacy assessments were as follows: B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP), Lee's HF score, the 6-minute walking test(6 MWT), left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF), and the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire(MLHFQ). The safety assessments were as follows: blood and urine routine examination, hepatic and renal function, electrolytes in blood and adverse events.RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the treatment group showed a 30.99% reduction in all-cause mortality and an improved survival rate. The treatment group showed greater improvement in 6 MWT(P = 0.02) than the control group on discharge, after 12-month follow-up, there was a time-group interaction for MLHFQ(P = 0.03). Incidence rate of adverse events and other relevant safety indexes were not statistically significant between the two groups.CONCLUSION: Western medication plus TCM treatment can increase 6-minute walking distance(improve exercise tolerance) and quality of life with heart failure patients. | Wang Xianliang Hou Yazhu Mao Jingyuan Zhao Yingqiang Niu Tianfu Yuan Ruyu Wang Yonggang Cui Jin-rong Shi Le Jia Xiuli Fan Ruihong Lin Qian Zhang Yan Li Zhijun Shang Hongcai Wang Baohe Wang Hongwu Wang Henghe Cui Xiaolei Soh Shanbin Ruan Jishou Zhang Boli | 2017 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2017,37,6: | 15
Biodegradation of nicosulfuron by a novel Alcaligenes faecalis strain ZWS11显示文摘A bacterial strain ZWS11 was isolated from sulfonylurea herbicide-contaminated farmland soil and identified as a potential nicosulfuron-degrading bacterium. Based on morphological and physicochemical characterization of the bacterium and phylogenetic analysis of the 16 S r RNA sequence, strain ZWS11 was identified as Alcaligenes faecalis. The effects of the initial concentration of nicosulfuron, inoculation volume, and medium p H on degradation of nicosulfuron were investigated. Strain ZWS11 could degrade 80.56% of the initial nicosulfuron supplemented at 500.0 mg/L under the conditions of p H 7.0, 180 r/min and30°C after incubation for 6 days. Strain ZWS11 was also capable of degrading rimsulfuron,tribenuron-methyl and thifensulfuron-methyl. Four metabolites from biodegradation of nicosulfuron were identified, which were 2-aminosulfonyl-N, N-dimethylnicotinamide(M1), 4, 6-dihydroxypyrimidine(M2), 2-amino-4, 6-dimethoxypyrimidine(M3) and2-(1-(4,6-dimethoxy-pyrimidin-2-yl)-ureido)-N,N-dimethyl-nicotinamide(M4). Among the metabolites detected, M2 was reported for the first time. Possible biodegradation pathways of nicosulfuron by strain ZWS11 were proposed. The degradation proceeded mainly via cleavage of the sulfonylurea bridge, O-dealkylation, and contraction of the sulfonylurea bridge by elimination of a sulfur dioxide group. The results provide valuable information for degradation of nicosulfuron in contaminated environments. | Weisong Zhao Chen Wang Li Xu Chunqing Zhao Hongwu Liang Lihong Qiu | 2015 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2015,27,9: | 9
Factors affecting genomic selection revealed by empirical evidence in maize显示文摘Genomic selection(GS) as a promising molecular breeding strategy has been widely implemented and evaluated for plant breeding, because it has remarkable superiority in enhancing genetic gain, reducing breeding time and expenditure, and accelerating the breeding process. In this study the factors affecting prediction accuracy(rMG) in GS were evaluated systematically, using six agronomic traits(plant height, ear height, ear length, ear diameter, grain yield per plant and hundred-kernel weight) evaluated in one natural and two biparental populations. The factors examined included marker density, population size, heritability, statistical model, population relationships and the ratio of population size between the training and testing sets, the last being revealed by resampling individuals in different proportions from a population. Prediction accuracy continuously increased as marker density and population size increased and was positively correlated with heritability; rMGshowed a slight gain when the training set increased to three times as large as the testing set. Low predictive performance between unrelated populations could be attributed to different allele frequencies, and predictive ability and prediction accuracy could be improved by including more related lines in the training population. Among the seven statistical models examined, including ridge regression best linear unbiased prediction(RR-BLUP), genomic BLUP(GBLUP), Bayes A, Bayes B, Bayes C, Bayesian least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(Bayesian LASSO), and reproducing kernel Hilbert space(RKHS), the RKHS and additive-dominance model(Add + Dom model) showed credible ability for capturing non-additive effects, particularly for complex traits with low heritability. Empirical evidence generated in this study for GS-relevant factors will help plant breeders to develop GS-assisted breeding strategies for more efficient development of varieties. | Xiaogang Liu Hongwu Wang Hui Wang Zifeng Guo Xiaojie Xu Jiacheng Liu Shanhong Wang Wen-Xue Li Cheng Zou Boddupalli M.Prasanna Michael S.Olsen Changling Huang Yunbi Xu | 2018 | The Crop Journal2018,6,4: | 8
QTL analysis of ear leaf traits in maize(Zea mays L.)under different planting densities显示文摘Modem maize varieties have become more productive than ever, owing largely to increased tolerance of high plant density. However, the genetics of ear leaf traits under different densities remains poorly understood. In this study, Zhongdan 909 recombinant inbred lines(RILs) derived from a cross between Z58 and HD568 were genotyped for 3072 single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs), and phenotyped for leaf length(LL), leaf width(LW), and leaf angle(LA) of the uppermost ear leaf under three planting densities(52,500,67,500, and 82,500 plants ha-1, respectively). A genetic map was then constructed using1358 high-quality SNPs. The total length of the linkage map was 1985.2 cM and the average interval between adjacent markers 1.46 cM. With increasing density, LL and LW decreased from 63.68 to 63.02 cm and from 8.56 to 8.21 cm, respectively, while LA increased from19.42° to 19.66°. All three traits had high heritabilities, of 0.75, 0.78, and 0.84, respectively.Using inclusive composite interval mapping, 23, 25, and 17 quantitative trait loci(QTL) were detected for LL, LW, and LA, respectively. Of these, 35 were simultaneously detected under two or three plant densities, while 30 were detected under only one. Sixty-five individual QTL explained 2.41% to 16.53% of phenotypic variation, while eight accounted for >10%.These findings will help us understand the genetic basis of leaf traits in maize as well as the response of maize to increased plant density. | Hongwu Wang Qianjin Liang Kun Li Xiaojiao Hu Yujin Wu Hui Wang Zhifang Liu Changling Huang | 2017 | The Crop Journal2017,5,5: | 7

Buoyancy effect on heat transfer in rotating smooth square U-duct at high rotation number显示文摘The buoyancy effect on heat transfer in a rotating,two-pass,square channel is experimentally investigated in curent work. The classical copper plate technique is performed to measure the regional averaged heat transfer cofficients. In order to perform a fundamental research, all turbulators are removed away. Two approaches of altering Buoyancy numbers are selected:varying rotation number from 0 to 2.08 at Reynolds number ranges of 10000 to 70000,and varying inlet density ratio from 0.07 to 0.16 at Reynolds number of 10000.And thus,Buoyancy numbers range from 0 to 12.9 for both cases.According to the experimental results, the relationships between heat transfer and Buoyancy numbers are in accord with those obtained under different rotation numbers. For both leading and trailing surface,a critical Buoyancy number exists for each X/D location. Before the critical point, the effect of Buoyancy number on heat transfer is limited;but after that, the Nusselt number ratios show different increase rate.Given the same rotation number, higher wall temperature ratios with its corresponding higher Buoyancy numbers substantially enhance heat transfer on both passages. And the critical exceed-point that heat transfer from trailing surface higher than leading surface happens at the same Buoyancy number for different wall temperature ratios in the second passage. Thus, the stronger buoyancy effect promotes heat transfer enhancement at high rotation number condition. | Yang Li Guoqiang Xu Hongwu Deng Shuqing Tian | 2014 | Propulsion and Power Research2014,3,3: | 6
Application of Fast Wavelet Analysis on Early Stall Warning in Axial Compressors显示文摘The timely detection of stall inception is of great significance for safe operation and stability control of axial compressor. In the current study, a fast wavelet tool was selected to predict stall precursor in axial compressors with spike-type and modal-wave stall inception. Dynamic pressure was measured in the casing wall by using a collection of time-resolved pressure transducers with circumferential and chord-wise spatial resolution. Fast wavelet analysis with low frequency reconstruction results demonstrate that the initial inception can be detected 110 rotor revolutions prior to stall for modal-wave stall inception in a 1.5 stage axial compressor. For spike-type stall inception, despite the failure of early stall warning via low frequency reconstruction, an increase amplitude frequency band of 0.2–0.8 blade passing frequency was identified using high frequency reconstruction in an isolated-rotor axial compressor. Fast wavelet method can predict two kinds of stall inceptions simultaneously in advance and realize the early stall warning in axial compressors through a reasonable selection of reconstructed frequency. | LIU Yang LI Jichao DU Juan LI Fan ZHANG Hongwu | 2019 | Journal of Thermal Science2019,28,5: | 5

The governing equations of plane elasticity in sectorial domain are derived to be inHamiltonian form via variable substitution and variational principle. The methods of separation ofvariables and conjugate symplectic eigen-function expansion are developed to solve the equations insectorial domain. | 9 | Wide river or narrow river:Future river training strategy for Lower Yellow River under global change显示文摘The choice of a river training strategy is extremely important for the Lower Yellow River(LYR). Currently, the wide-river training strategy applies in the training of the LYR. However, remarkable changes in the hydrological processes in the Yellow River basin, as well as immediate pressure from socio-economic development in the Yellow River basin, make it necessary to consider if there is a possibility to change the river training strategy from wide-river training to narrow-river training. This research investigates the impacts of different river training strategies on the LYR through numerical simulations. A onedimensional(1-D) model was used to simulate the fluvial processes for the future 50 years and a threedimensional(3-D) model was applied to study typical floods. The study focused on river morphology, the results show that if the present decreasing trend in both water discharge and sediment load persists, the deposition rate in the LYR will further decrease no matter what strategy is applied. Especially, narrowriver training can achieve the aim to increase the sediment transport capacity in the LYR compared with wide-river training. However, if the incoming water and sediment load recovers to the mean level of the last century, main channel shrinkage due to sedimentation inevitably occurs for both wide-river and narrow-river training. Most importantly, this study shows that narrow-river training reduces the deposition amount over the whole LYR, but it provides little help in alleviating the development of the'suspended river'. Instead, narrow-river training can cause aggradation in the transitional reach where the river pattern changes from highly wandering to meandering, further worsening the 'hump deposition' there. Because of uncertainty regarding future changes in hydrological processes in the Yellow River basin, and the lack of feasible engineering measures to mitigate 'suspended river' and'hump deposition' problems in the LYR, caution should be exercised with respect to changes in the river training strategy for the LYR. | Xiaonan Li Deyu Zhong Y.Joseph Zhang Yanjun Wang Yongqiang Wang Hongwu Zhang | 2018 | International Journal of Sediment Research2018,33,3: | 5 |
TWO-DIMENSIONAL SEDIMENT MATHEMATICAL MODEL FORUNSTEADY FLOW IN THE LOWER YELLOW RIVER显示文摘The theoretical frame of a new two-dimensional sediment mathematical model is established on the basis of the resent research achievements about the sediment transport law of the Yellow River. The formulas of sediment carrying capacity of flow and river roughness, which reflect the features of the Yellow River, are applied to it. The finite element scheme is employed to deduce the discretized equations of the model. The pre-estimated-verified substitution is used to solve them. Verifications of the model are carried out with the flood occurring on Jinan reach of the Yellow River during the flood season in 1976. The calculation results with the model are in good agreement with the measured data. | ZHANG Hongwu LI Dongfeng XU Yuxin ZHANG Junhua (1 Project (No. 39890200) Supported by the National Nature Science Foundation Commission and the Ministry of Water Conservancy 2 Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research, Zhengzhou 450003, China 3 Ye | 1999 | International Journal of Sediment Research1999,14,2: | 5
Entropy Generation Analysis in a Mixed-Flow Compressor with Casing Treatment显示文摘Casing treatments(CT) can effectively extend compressors flow ranges with the expense of efficiency penalty. Compressor efficiency is closely linked to loss. Only revealing the mechanisms of loss generation can design a CT with high aerodynamic performance. In the paper, a highly-loaded mixed-flow compressor with tip clearance of 0.4 mm was numerically studied at a rotational speed of 30,000 r/min to reveal the effects of axial slot casing treatment(ASCT) on the loss mechanisms in the compressor. The results showed that both isentropic efficiency and stall margin were improved significantly by the ASCT. The local entropy generation method was used to analyze the loss mechanisms and to quantify the loss distributions in the blade passage. Based on the axial distributions of entropy generation rate, for both the cases with and without ASCT, the peak entropy generation rate increased in the rotor domain and decreased in the stator domain during throttling the compressor. The peak entropy generation in rotor was mainly caused by the tip leakage flow and flow separations near the rotor leading edge for the mixed-flow compressor no matter which casing was applied. The radial distributions of entropy generation rate showed that the reduction of loss in the rotor domain from 0.4 span to the rotor casing was the major reason for the efficiency improved by ASCT. The addition of ASCT exerted two opposite effects on the losses generated in the compressor. On the one hand, the intensity of tip leakage flow was weakened by the suction effect of slots, which alleviated the mixing effect between the tip leakage flow and main flow, and thus reduced the flow losses; On the other hand, the extra losses upstream the rotor leading edge were produced due to the shear effect and to the heat transfer. The aforementioned shear effect was caused by the different velocity magnitudes and directions, and the heat transfer was caused by temperature gradient between the injected flow and the incoming flow. For case with smooth casing(SC), 61.61% of the overall loss arose from tip leakage flow and casing boundary layer. When the ASCT was applied, that decreased to 55.34%. The loss generated by tip leakage flow and casing boundary layer decreased 20.54% relatively by ASCT. | ZHANG Qianfeng DU Juan LI Zhihui LI Jichao ZHANG Hongwu | 2019 | Journal of Thermal Science2019,28,5: | 5
Specific Recognition of Breast Cancer Cells In Vitro Using Near Infrared-Emitting Long-Persistence Luminescent Zn_3Ga_2Ge_2O_(10):Cr^(3+)Nanoprobes显示文摘In this paper, near-infrared emitting long-persistence luminescent Zn3Ga2Ge2O10:Cr3?(ZGG) nanoparticles with diameters of 30–100 nm and bright luminescence were prepared by a sol–gel synthesis method. After the surface amination, the nanoparticles were further bioconjugated with breast cancer-specific monoclonal antibody(anti-Ep CAM) to form ZGG-Ep CAM nanoprobes which can specifically target breast cancer cell lines(MCF7) in vitro. The results of in vitro images show that the luminescence signals from the cells treated with ZGG-Ep CAM nanoprobes are stronger than those from cells treated with ZGG-unconjugated antibody, indicating that the prepared ZGG-Ep CAM nanoprobes possessed excellent specific recognition capability. Furthermore, due to their long afterglow properties, the imaging could persist more than 1 h. Therefore, these nanoprobes could not only provide a high specificity detection method for cancer cells but also realize the long-time monitoring. Developed near-infrared emitting long-persistence luminescent nanoprobes will be expected to find new perspectives for cell therapy research and diagnosis applications. | Jinlei Li Junpeng Shi Jiangshan Shen Huizi Man Mingxi Wang Hongwu Zhang | 2015 | Nano-Micro Letters2015,7,2: | 4
Effect of burden and origin sites of premature ventricular contractions on left ventricular function by 7-day Holter monitor显示文摘Recent studies have shown that premature ventricular contractions(PVCs) could enlarge the heart, but its risk factors are incompletely understood as a single 24-hour recording cannot reflect the true PVC burden due to day-to-day variability. Our purpose was to investigate the effect of burden and origin sites on left ventricular(LV) function in patients with PVCs by 7-day Holter electrocardiography(ECG).From May 2012 to August2013,112 consecutive patients with PVCs were recruited from the authors' affiliated hospital. All patients received2-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography,12-lead routing ECG and 7-days Holter ECG.Serum N-terminal probrain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) levels were measured.A total of 102 participants with PVCs were included in the final analysis.Origin of PVCs from the tricuspid annulus had the highest burden and NT-proBNP level.LV papillary muscle had a higher LV ejection fraction(EF) level and a lower LV end-systolic dimension(ESD) than other PVC foci(P<0.05).The high burden group had a higher LV end-diastolic dimension(EDD) and LVESD but lower LVEF than the other two groups(P<0.05).Female,older age, physical work, and history of PVCs had a significantly positive correlation with symptoms.Male, older age, physical work, and high burden were positive predictors of enlarged LVEDD,LVESD and higher serum NT-proBNP level, but lower LVEF.Seven-day dynamic ECG Holter monitor showed the true PVC burden on patients with PVCs.PVCs with a lower burden or origin from the LV papillary muscle and the fascicle were relatively benign, while PVCs with a higher burden or origin from the tricuspid annulus may lead to cardiac dysfunction. | Wenhua Xu Mingfang Li Minglong Chen Bing Yang Daowu Wang Xiangqing Kong Hongwu Chen Weizhu Ju Kai Gu Kejiang Cao Hailei Liu Qi Jiang Jiaojiao Shi Yan Cui Hong Wang | 2015 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2015,29,6: | 4

Design and Verification of an Auxiliary System for High Vacuum Die Casting显示文摘Vacuum die casting is the optimal method to produce high quality aluminum alloy components. At present, there are still very few systematic studies on vacuum die casting theory and equipment design. On the basis of the existing theories of the vacuum die casting pumping and venting systems,a simplified model is established in this research. The model has an aggregate unit consisted of 'vacuum pump + buffer tank' and a cylindrical container(including the shot sleeve, cavity and exhaust channel). The theoretical analysis is carried out between the cavity pressure and the pumping time under different volume models. An auxiliary system for high vacuum die casting is designed based on the above analysis. This system is composed of a vacuum control machine and a new vacuum stop valve. The machine has a human-computer control mode with 'programmable logic controller(PLC) + touch screen' and a real-time monitoring function of vacuum degree for buffer tank and die cavity. The vacuum stop valve with the 'compressed gas + piston rod + labyrinth groove' structure can realize the function of whole-process vacuum venting. The new system shows great advantages on vacuuming the cavity with a much faster speed by making tests on an existing die casting mold and a 250 t die casting machine.A die cavity pressure less than 10 kPa can be reached within 0.8 s in the experiment and the porosity of castings can be greatly decreased. The systematic studies on vacuum die casting theory and equipment have a great guiding significance for high vacuum die casting, and can also be applied to other high vacuum forming in related theoretical and practical research. | GE Xiaohong HUANG Hongwu LI Hui LIU Yadan | 2010 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2010,23,5: | 3
Experimental and Numerical Investigation of the Unsteady Tip Leakage Flow in Axial Compressor Cascade显示文摘For convenience of both measurement and adjusting the clearance size and incidence, the current research is mainly conducted by experiments on an axial compressor linear cascade. The characteristics and the condition under which the unsteadiness of tip leakage flow would occur were investigated by dynamic measuring in different clearances, inlet velocities and incidences. From the experiment it is found that increasing tip clearance size or reducing rotor tip incidence can affect the strength of the tip clearance flow. Then the experimental results also indicate the tip leakage shows instability in certain conditions, and the frequency of unsteadiness is great influenced by inflow angle. The condition of occurrence of tip leakage flow unsteadiness is when the leakage flow is strong enough to reach the pressure side of the adjacent blade. The main cause of tip leakage flow unsteadiness is the tip blade loading. | Chengqing Li Tingfeng Ke Jingxuan Zhang Hongwu Zhang Weiguang Huang | 2013 | Journal of Thermal Science2013,22,2: | 3

A Study of the Unsteady Tip Flow Field of a Transonic Compressor显示文摘An experimental investigation on the unsteady tip flow field of a transonic compressor rotor has been performed. The casing-mounted high frequency response pressure transducers were arranged along both the blade chord and the blade pitch. The chord-wise ones were used to indicate both the ensemble averaged and time varying flow structure of the tip region of the rotor at different operating points under 95% design speed and 60% design speed. The pitch-wise circumferential transducers were mainly used to analyze the unsteadiness frequency of the tip leakage flow in the rotor frame at the near stall condition. The contours of casing wall pressure show that there were two clear low pressure regions in blade passages, one along the chord direction, caused by the leakage flow and the other along the tangential direction, maybe caused by the forward swept leading edge. Both low pressure regions were originated from the leading edge and formed a scissor-like flow pattern. At 95% design speed condition, the shock wave interacted with the low pressure region and made the flow field unsteady. With the mass flow reduced, the two low pressure regions gradually contracted to the leading edge and then a spike disturbance emerged. | JingXuan Zhang Chengqin Li Hongwu Zhang Weiguang Huang | 2011 | Journal of Thermal Science2011,20,1: | 3
Genetic analysis and QTL mapping of stalk cell wall components and digestibility in maize recombinant inbred lines from B73 × By804显示文摘The cell wall composition and structure of the maize stalk directly affects its digestibility and in turn its feed value.Previous studies of stem quality have focused mostly on common maize germplasm, and few studies have focused on high-oil cultivars with high grain and straw quality.Investigation of the genetic basis of cell wall composition and digestibility of maize stalk using high-oil maize is desirable for improving maize forage quality. In the present study,a high-oil inbred line(By804)was crossed as male parent with the maize inbred line B73 to construct a population of 188 recombinant inbred lines(RILs).The phenotypes of six cell-wall-related traits were recorded, and QTL analysis was performed with a genetic map constructed with SNP markers. All traits were significantly correlated with one another and showed high broad-sense heritability.Of 20 QTLs mapped, the QTL associated with each trait explained 10.0%–41.1%of phenotypic variation.Approximately half of the QTL each explained over 10%of the phenotypic variation. These results provide a theoretical basis for improving maize forage quality by marker-assisted selection. | Qi Wang Kun Li Xiaojiao Hu Huimin Shi Zhifang Liu Yujin Wu Hongwu Wang Changling Huang | 2020 | The Crop Journal2020,8,1: | 2
Dual stability enhancement mechanisms of axial-slot casing treatment in a high-speed mixed-flow compressor with various tip clearances显示文摘The influence of Axial-Slot Casing Treatment(ASCT)on the performance and stability enhancement mechanisms of ASCT were experimentally and numerically investigated in a highspeed mixed-flow compressor under three different tip clearances.Unsteady simulations showed the compressor stalled through end-wall stall route,i.e.the spike stall inception originating from rotor tip region, which was validated by dynamical measurements. When the ASCT was applied, greater than 20%of Stall Margin Improvement(SMI)could be achieved for the compressor under each tip clearance size. The streamwise velocity contours and flow structures in the tip region and axial slots were deeply analyzed to explore how the so called‘‘suction and injection effects'generated by the ASCT manipulate tip clearance flow and enhance the stability of compressor under different tip clearances. It was found that the dominant stability enhancement mechanisms of ASCT varies with tip clearance size for the mixed-flow compressor.(A)For the small tip clearance, the dominant mechanism of stability enhancement is the blockage reduction generated in the blade passage by the suction effect of ASCT.(B)For the large tip clearance, the injection effect of the ASCT is the dominant mechanism of stability enhancement with ASCT,which plays the leading role in delaying the spillage of incoming/tip leakage flow interface at the rotor Leading Edge(LE)plane. | Qianfeng ZHANG Juan DU Jichao LI Ming ZHAO Hongwu ZHANG | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,4: | 2
