| 2 | Evidence for the paternal mitochondrial DNA in the crucian carp-like fish lineage with hybrid origin显示文摘In terms of taxonomic status,common carp(Cyprinus carpio,Cyprininae)and crucian carp(Carassius auratus,Cyprininae)are different species;however,in this study,a newborn homodiploid crucian carp-like fish(2n=100)(2nNCRC)lineage(F1–F3)was established from the interspecific hybridization of female common carp(2n=100)×male blunt snout bream(Megalobrama amblycephala,Cultrinae,2n=48).The phenotypes and genotypes of 2 n NCRC differed from those of its parents but were closely related to those of the existing diploid crucian carp.We further sequenced the whole mitochondrial(mt)genomes of the 2n NCRC lineage from F1 to F3.The paternal mt DNA fragments were stably embedded in the mt-genomes of F1–F3 generations of 2n NCRC to form chimeric DNA fragments.Along with this chimeric process,numerous base sites of F1–F3 generations of 2 n NCRC underwent mutations.Most of these mutation sites were consistent with the existing diploid crucian carp.Moreover,the mt DNA organization and nucleotide composition of 2n NCRC were more similar to those of the existing diploid crucian carp than those of the parents.The inheritable chimeric DNA fragments and mutant loci in the mt-genomes of different generations of 2nNCRC provided important evidence of the mt DNA change process in the newborn lineage derived from hybridization of different species.Our findings demonstrated for the first time that the paternal mt DNA were transmitted into the mt-genomes of homodiploid lineage,which provided new insights into the existence of paternal mt DNA in the mt DNA inheritance. | Shi Wang Ni Jiao Lu Zhao Meiwen Zhang Pei Zhou Xuexue Huang Fangzhou Hu Conghui Yang Yuqin Shu Wuhui Li Chun Zhang Min Tao Bo Chen Ming Ma Shaojun Liu | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,1: | 2 |
| 3 | A motion correction on direct estimations of air-sea fluxes from a buoy显示文摘A flux system deployed on a moored buoy has been described,which is capable of directly estimating the airsea fluxes after removing the contamination in the signal due to buoy motion.A triple loop fitting method has been demonstrated for determining the three angular offsets between measurement axes of the sonic anemometer and motion pack.The data collected in an experiment in the Northern Huanghai Sea is used to correct the three sonic anemometer measurements of turbulent wind for buoy motion.The effective removal of wave-scale motion from the spectra and cospectra are demonstrated.Estimates of along-wind momentum flux,sensible heat flux and latent heat flux calculated by the eddy correlation method based on data obtained by sonic anemometer 81000V are shown to be in the same trend and scale with those determined by the bulk aerodynamic method after motion correction.The motion correction not only greatly improve the estimation of the momentum flux but also has a great impact on the calculated sensible heat flux. | HUANG Yansong SONG Jinbao FAN Conghui | 2013 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2013,32,3: | 2 |
| 4 | On the parameterization of drag coefficient over sea surface显示文摘Six parameterization schemes of roughness or drag coefficient are evaluated on the basis of the data from six experiments. They present great consistency with measurement when friction velocity u*<0.5 m/s (approximately corresponding to 10 m wind speed U10 <12 m/s) and large deviation from measurement when u*≥0.5 m/s (approximately U10≥12 m/s). In order to improve the deviation, a new parameterization of drag coefficient is derived on the basis of the similarity theory, Charnock relationship and Toba 3/2 power law. Wave steepness and wind-sea Reynolds number are considered in the new parameterization. Then it is tested on the basis of the measurements and shows significant improvement when u*≥0.5 m/s. Its standard errors are much smaller than the ones of the other six parameterizations. | 5 | Air-sea carbon-dioxide flux estimated by eddy covariance method from a buoy observation显示文摘Precise measurements of the CO2 gas transfer across the air-sea interface provide a better understanding of the global carbon cycle.The air-sea CO2 fluxes are obtained by the eddy covariance method and the bulk method from a buoy observation in the northern Huanghai sea.The effects of buoy motion on flux calculated by the eddy covariance method are demonstrated.The research shows that a motion correction can improve the correlation coefficient between the CO2 fluxes estimated from two different levels.Without the CO2-H2 O cross-correlation correction which is termed as PKT correction,the air-sea CO2 fluxes estimated by eddy covariance method using the motion corrected data are nearly an order of magnitude larger than those estimated by the bulk method.After the CO2-H2 O cross-correlation correction,some eddy covariance CO2 fluxes indeed become closer to the bulk CO2 flux,whereas some are overcorrected which are in response to small water vapor flux. | HUANG Yansong SONG Jinbao WANG Juanjuan FAN Conghui | 2012 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2012,31,6: | 1 |
| 6 | Functional analysis of flavanone 3-hydroxylase(F3H)from Dendrobium officinale,which confers abiotic stress tolerance显示文摘Flavonoids are important bioactive components in Dendrobium officinale,a medicinal orchid.They are involved in many biological activities,including protecting plants against biotic and abiotic stresses.Research on the key genes related to flavonoid biosynthesis in D.officinale is limited.In this study,one of the key flavonoid biosynthesis genes,flavanone 3-hydroxylase(F3H),was characterized from D.officinale.The open reading frame of DoF3H was 1134 bp long and it encoded a 377-amino acid protein.The DoF3H protein showed considerably high homology with F3H proteins from other plant species and shared a common evolutionary ancestor with other F3Hs.DoF3H transcripts were detected in different organs of adult plants and mainly accumulated in flowers,followed by roots,stems and leaves,a pattern that was similar to the content of flavonoids.Recombinant DoF3H protein,which was localized in the cytosol,could convert naringenin to dihydrokaempferol.The mRNA levels of DoF3H were significantly induced by salt and cold stresses.Furthermore,the heterologous expression of DoF3H in Escherichia coli conferred it higher tolerance to salt and cold stresses.These results provide insight into the molecular function of DoF3H in the biosynthesis of flavonoids,and provide a new application for improvement of abiotic tolerance in D.officinale. | Can Si Wei Dong Jaime A.Teixeira da Silva Chunmei He Zhenming Yu Mingze Zhang Lei Huang Conghui Zhao Danqi Zeng Chuanmao Li Shengxiang Qiu Jun Duan | 2023 | Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,2: | 1 |

| 10 | Operando surface science methodology reveals surface effect in charge storage electrodes显示文摘Surface and interface play critical roles in energy storage devices,calling for operando characterization techniques to probe the electrified surfaces/interfaces.In this work,surface science methodology,including electron spectroscopy and scanning probe microscopy,has been successfully applied to visualize electrochemical processes at operating electrode surfaces in an Al/graphite model battery.Intercalation of anions together with cations is directly observed in the surface region of a graphite electrode with tens of nanometers thickness,the concentration of which is one order higher than that in bulk.An intercalation pseudocapacitance mechanism and a double specific capacity in the electrode surface region are expected based on the super-dense intercalants and anion/cation co-intercalation,which are in sharp contrast to the battery-like mechanism in the electrode bulk.The distinct electrochemical mechanism at the electrode surface is verified by performance tests of real battery devices,showing that a surface-dominant,nanometer-thick graphite cathode outperforms a bulk-dominant,micrometer-thick graphite cathode.Our findings highlight the important surface effect of working electrodes in charge storage systems. | Chao Wang Yanxiao Ning Haibo Huang Shiwen Li Chuanhai Xiao Qi Chen Li Peng Shuainan Guo Yifan Li Conghui Liu Zhong-Shuai Wu Xianfeng Li Liwei Chen Chao Gao Chuan Wu Qiang Fu | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,3: | 0 |
