1Preparation of Fe_3O_4@Au nano-composites by self-assembly technique for immobilization of glucose oxidase显示文摘Superparamagnetism amination nanocrystals Fe3O4 with 3-aminopropyltriethyloxy silane (APTES) were prepared by modified co-precipitation method. Next, 4―5 nm gold nanoparticles, prepared by classical Frens procedure, were coated on the surface of the amination Fe3O4 by self-assembly technology. The prepared Fe3O4@Au nanocomposite particles were investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-vis, infrared spectrum (FT-IR), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) in order to eluci-date the morphology, optics and magnetic properties of the nanocomposites. Their uniform distribution of particle size,which is about 15 nm , and good magnetic responsiveness were observed. In view of the fact that Fe3O4 owns superparamagnetism and that nano-gold can readily combine with biological molecules, glucose oxidase (GOx) was chosen as a model to penetrate the condition of immobilizing enzyme, and enzymatic properties of resultant immobilized enzyme were studied as well. By systematic optimization, we established that at 28℃, and pH (5.5) and when mole ratio of Fe3O4:HAuCl4 was 0.5:1, the immobilization provided the best results. Finally, we are glad to find that the immobilized enzyme exhibits excellent thermostability in addition to its better stability than free enzyme. 2Selective conversion of biomass-derived furfuryl alcohol into n-butyl levulinate over sulfonic acid functionalized TiO_(2) nanotubes显示文摘Sulfonic acid functionalized titanate nanotubes were prepared by the sulphonation reaction of hydrothermally synthesized TiO_(2) nanotubes(TNTs) using chlorosulfonic acid as the sulfating agent.The as-prepared catalysts were characterized by fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectroscopy,transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(SEM-EDX),Xray diffraction(XRD) analysis,thermogravimetry-differential thermal gravimetry(TG-DTG) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)techniques.The characterization results revealed that the catalysts retained the tubular structure of the TNTs and possessed a large number of active sulfonic acid sites.The catalytic performance of the catalysts for the synthesis of n-butyl levulinate was investigated via the alcoholysis of biomass-derived furfuryl alcohol under atmospheric pressure.The effects of the reaction factors such as the catalyst dosage,reaction time,and temperature on the alcoholysis of the furfuryl alcohol were systematically studied.Under mild conditions,about 79.9% yield of n-butyl levulinate was achieved.In addition,the catalysts showed a stable catalytic performance after four consecutive cycles.Furthermore,no leaching of the active species was observed during the hot filtration testing,which can be attributed to the covalently linked –SO_(3)H groups on the TNTs surface.In addition,the opened tubular nanostructure of the catalyst and the introduced strong Br?nsted acid sites exhibited synergistic effects,which facilitated the selective conversion of the furfuryl alcohol to butyl levulinate.Shuolin Zhou Jinhua Lai Xianxiang Liu Geng Huang Gaolin You Qiong Xu Dulin Yin 2022Green Energy & Environment2022,7,2:3

16Transcriptomic characteristics and impaired immune function of patients who retest positive for SARS-CoV-2 RNA显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection,has become a global public health crisis.Some patients who have recovered from COVID-19 subsequently test positive again for SARS-CoV-2 RNA after discharge from hospital.How such retest-positive(RTP)patients become infected again is not known.In this study,30 RTP patients,20 convalescent patients,and 20 healthy controls were enrolled for the analysis of immunological characteristics of their peripheral blood mononuclear cells.We found that absolute numbers of CD4^(+)T cells,CD8^(+)T cells,and natural killer cells were not substantially decreased in RTP patients,but the expression of activation markers on these cells was significantly reduced.The percentage of granzyme B-producing T cells was also lower in RTP patients than in convalescent patients.Through transcriptome sequencing,we demonstrated that high expression of inhibitor of differentiation 1(ID1)and low expression of interferon-induced transmembrane protein 10(IFITM10)were associated with insufficient activation of immune cells and the occurrence of RTP.These findings provide insight into the impaired immune function associated with COVID-19 and the pathogenesis of RTP,which may contribute to a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying RTP.Dongyao Wang Dong Wang Min Huang Xiaohu Zheng Yiqing Shen Binqing Fu Hong Zhao Xianxiang Chen Peng Peng Qi Zhu Yonggang Zhou Jinghe Zhang Zhigang Tian Wuxiang Guan Guiqiang Wang Haiming Wei 2021Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2021,13,10:0
17Forecasting tropical cyclone tornadoes and impacts:Report from IWTC-X显示文摘This report synthesizes global tropical cyclone(TC)tornado research and operational practices to date.Tornadoes are one of the secondary(and lesser researched)hazards contributing to the devastation TCs leave in their wake.While gale-force winds and storm surge produce the majority of damage and fatalities globally,TC tornadoes also pose a fatal threat,complicating evacuation plans and protective actions as the storm moves inland.Climatological studies characterize TC-spawned tornadoes as usually weak and short-lived,primarily originating from miniature supercells in the outer rainbands.These tornadic features pose challenges to forecasting and radar detection.Additionally,TC tornadoes can pose a threat to communities 12 h prior to and beyond 48 h after a TC makes landfall.Research,both basic and operational,has increased globally over the last few years in efforts to move from a climatological to ingredientsbased approach to detect and forecast TC tornadoes.While the United States has led the charge,given the increased exposure to tornadoes year round,other nations such as China,Japan,and Australia have increased their efforts to record and detect TC tornadoes.Despite these advancements,more work needs to be done globally to understand the TC environment conducive for tornadic activity.Recommendations for future forecasting and research for TC tornadoes include i)develop a comprehensive global tornado database to improve research and forecasting efforts;ii)apply innovative technology to detect tornadoes;and iii)conduct field campaigns to thoroughly sample TC tornado environments,particularly along coastlines.Dereka Carroll-Smith Benjamin W.Green Roger Edwards Lanqiang Bai A.J.Litta Xianxiang Huang Lauren Pattie Scott Overpeck Eugene W.McCaul Jr 2023Tropical Cyclone Research and Review2023,12,2:0
18Selective hydroconversion of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)furan using carbon nanotubes-supported nickel catalysts显示文摘2,5-Bis(hydroxymethyl)furan(BHMF)is a high-value,bio-based,rigid diol that resembles aromatic monomers for the production of different polyesters.In this work,a carbon nanotubes(CNTs)-supported nickel catalyst(Ni/CNTs)was prepared and used for the selective hydrogenation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF)to BHMF at low hydrogen pressure.The prepared catalyst was analyzed by nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms,X-ray diffraction(XRD),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).According to kinetic studies,the rate constant for BHMF formation is significantly larger than that for the formation of the byproduct,5-methyl furfural(MF).At optimal reaction conditions,conversion and selectivity rates of HMF and BHMF were 99.8%and 95.0%,respectively.The mechanistic study indicated the coexistence of Ni0 and Ni2+species on the catalyst surface affects the catalytic performance.A possible mechanism was proposed to describe the synergetic effects of Ni0 and Ni2+.Furthermore,the catalyst can be easily separated from the reaction mixture for recycling.Zexing Huang Xiaoao Sun Wenguang Zhao Xiaoting Zhu Zhijuan Zeng Qiong Xu Xianxiang Liu 2022Carbon Resources Conversion2022,5,4:0
19Boehmite-supported CuO as a catalyst for catalytic transfer hydrogenation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)furan显示文摘2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)furan(BHMF)is an important monomer of polyester.Its oxygen-containing rigid ring structure and symmetrical diol functional group establish it as an alternative to petroleum-based monomer with unique advantages for the prodution of the degradable bio-based polyester materials.Herein,we prepared a boehmite-supported copper-oxide catalyst for the selective hydrogenation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural into BHMF via catalytic transfer hydrogenation(CTH).Further,ethanol successfully replaced conventional high-pressure hydrogen as the hydrogen donor,with up to 96.9% BHMF selectivity achieved under suitable conditions.Through characterization and factor investigations,it was noted that CuO is crucial for high BHMF selectivity.Furthermore,kinetic studies revealed a higher by-product activation energy compared to that of BHMF,which explained the influence of reaction temperature on product distribution.To establish the catalyst structure-activity correlation,a possible mechanism was proposed.The copper-oxide catalyst deactivated following CTH because ethanol reduced the CuO,which consequently decreased the active sites.Finally,calcination of the catalyst in air recovered its activity.These results will have a positive impact on hydrogenation processes in the biomass industry.Zexing Huang Zhijuan Zeng Xiaoting Zhu Wenguang Zhao Jing Lei Qiong Xu Yongjun Yang Xianxiang Liu 2023Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2023,17,4:0
