| 1 | Prediction of pathological nodal stage of locally advanced rectal cancer by collective features of multiple lymph nodes in magnetic resonance images before and after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy显示文摘Objective:To predict pathological nodal stage of locally advanced rectal cancer by a radiomic method that uses collective features of multiple lymph nodes(LNs)in magnetic resonance images before and after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(NCRT).Methods:A total of 215 patients were included in this study and chronologically divided into the discovery cohort(n=143)and validation cohort(n=72).In total,2,931 pre-NCRT LNs and 1,520 post-NCRT LNs were delineated from all visible rectal LNs in magnetic resonance images.Geometric,first-order and texture features were extracted from each LN before and after NCRT.Collective features are defined as the maximum,minimum,mean,median value and standard deviation of each feature from all delineated LNs of each participant.LN-model is constructed from collective LN features by logistic regression model with L1 regularization to predict pathological nodal stage(ypN0 or ypN+).Tumor-model is constructed from tumor features for comparison by using DeLong test.Results:The LN-model selects 7 features from 412 LN features,and the tumor-model selects 7 features from 82 tumor features.The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)of LN-model in the discovery cohort is 0.818[95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.745-0.878],significantly(Z=2.09,P=0.037)larger than 0.685(95%CI:0.602-0.760)of the tumor-model.The AUC of LN-model in validation cohort is 0.812(95%CI:0.703-0.895),significantly(Z=3.106,P=0.002)larger than 0.517(95%CI:0.396-0.636)of the tumor-model.Conclusions:The usage of collective features from all visible rectal LNs performs better than the usage of tumor features for the prediction of pathological nodal stage of locally advanced rectal cancer. | Haitao Zhu Xiaoyan Zhang Xiaoting Li Yanjie Shi Huici Zhu Yingshi Sun | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2019,31,6: | 13 |
| 2 | Prognostic factors for transarterial chemoembolization combined with sustained oxaliplatin-based hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy of colorectal cancer liver metastasis显示文摘Objective: To investigate the prognostic factors in chemorefractory colorectal cancer liver metastasis(CRCLM)patients treated by transarterial chemoembolization(TACE) and sustained hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy(HAIC).Methods: Between 2006 and 2015, 162 patients who underwent 763 TACE and HAIC in total were enrolled in this retrospective study, including 110 males and 52 females, with a median age of 60(range, 26–83) years.Prognostic factors were assessed with Log-rank test, Cox univariate and multivariate analyses.Results: The median survival time(MST) and median progression-free survival(PFS) of the 162 patients from first TACE/HAIC were 15.6 months and 5.5 months respectively. Normal serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9, <37 U/m L)(P<0.001) and carbohydrate antigen 72-4(CA72-4, <6.7 U/m L)(P=0.026), combination with other local treatment(liver radiotherapy or liver radiofrequency ablation)(P=0.034) and response to TACE/HAIC(P<0.001) were significant factors related to survival after TACE/HAIC in univariate analysis. A multivariate analysis revealed that normal serum CA19-9(P<0.001), response to TACE/HAIC(P<0.001) and combination with other local treatment(P=0.001) were independent factors among them.Conclusions: Our findings indicate that serum CA19-9 <37 U/m L and response to TACE/HAIC are significant prognostic indicators for this combined treatment, and treated with other local treatment could reach a considerable survival benefit for CRCLM. | 4 | Glycyrrhetinic acid-modified nanoparticles for drug delivery: Preparation and characterization显示文摘In this work, glycyrrhetinic acid-modified chitosan (mGA-suc-CTS) used as liver targeted carrier for drug delivery, was prepared via hemisuccinate as a bridged group. The structure of the product was confirmed by IR and NMR methods and the degree of substitution (DS) of glycyrrhetinic acid groups was estimated via elemental analysis. Nanoparticles were formed by ionic gelation methold. The drug-loading and release behavior of the nanoparticles were investigated using BSA as the model drug. The results indicated that the carrier with a highest DS of 5.19% could be got and the DS was controlled by changing reaction temperature or feed ratio. BSA could be entrapped into the nanoparticles with the drug-loading ratio of 26.3% and the encapsulation efficiency of 81.5%. | 5 | Understanding pitting corrosion behavior of AZ91 alloy and its MAO coating in 3.5%NaCl solution by cyclic potentiodynamic polarization显示文摘The pitting corrosion behavior of AZ91 alloy before and after micro-oxidation treatment in 3.5%Na Cl solution was investigated by cyclic potentiodynamic polarization(CPDP)and optical and SEM observations of corroded surfaces at different polarization potentials.The CPDP results show that both the alloy and the MAO-coated alloy suffer from pitting corrosion and it is difficult for pits to stop growth once the pits initiates.It is revealed that the air-formed Mg O film on AZ91 alloy,the MAO coating along with corrosion products(mainly Mg(OH))formed during CPDP can significantly influence the kinetics of the redox reactions of Mg,and further influence the propagation behavior of pitting corrosion.The optical and SEM images show that the corrosion products on AZ91 alloy are dense and protective but on the MAO-coated corrosion products are very loose.Such observations support the analyses of CPDP results that pits on AZ91 alloy spread to the width whereas pits on MAO-coated alloy propagate to the depth.Overall,pitting corrosion on the MAO-coated alloy can be very severe once the coating ruptures and post-treatments are necessary to provide a promising corrosion protection for the Mg alloys. | Yuxiang Liu Zhu Liu Anyang Xu Xiaoting Liu | 2022 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,5: | 3 |

| 8 | Auditory characteristics of noise-exposed memberscrossing age-related groups显示文摘Objective: To report audiological characteristics in a group of noise-exposed crew members on board ships.Methods and materials: Clinical and audiological measurements including pure-tone thresholds, acoustic immittance results and tinnitus questionnaires were collected from both the ship crew members(study subjects) and their land based colleagues(controls).Results: 1) Noise exposed crew members showed not only high frequency, but also low frequency hearing loss; 2) Hearing impairment increased with age, with 65.5% of crew members younger than 50 years showing normal hearing while only 14.9% of those older than 50 years had normal hearing; 3)hearing loss gradually increased with the extension of on board career time; and 4) Most study subjects reported high pitch tinnitus, significantly more than the control group although not significantly different among different age groups.Conclusion: Noise induced hearing impairment from working on board ships shows specific frequency and age characteristics. | 14 | Triptolide-loaded microemulsion-based hydrogels: physical properties and percutaneous permeability显示文摘Triptolide is a diterpenoid compound that inhibits the inflammation of rheumatoid arthritis(RA).However,the use of triptolide is limited due to its strong gastrointestinal toxicity.The purpose of this work was to develop a transdermal delivery system for triptolide to reduce this toxicity.A microemulsion-based hydrogel(MBH)was prepared from the combination of Gemseal 40-oleic acid as oil phase,Tween 80-labrasol as surfactant,anhydrous ethanol as co-surfactant,water as aqueous phase and Poloxamer 407 as hydrogel matrix.Rheological measurements,environmental scanning electron microscopy(ESEM)and transdermal experiments in vitro were used to characterize triptolide-loaded and blank MBH preparations.The effects of Poloxamer 407 and triptolide on the rheological properties and microstructures of the MBH were determined.Transparent and homogeneous MBH could only be formed when the concentration of Poloxamer 407 in the selected O/W microemulsion was in the range of 14.0–16.0%(w/w).When the concentration of Poloxamer 407 increased,the rheological properties such as the yield stresses(sy),storage and loss moduli(G′,G″)of the formulations increased,and the network structures became more compact.The addition of triptolide did not change the interconnected network structures of the MBH preparations.MBH preparations afford a better sustained release profile when compared to microemulsions,a finding confirmed by an in vitro permeation test in mice.MBH appears to be a promising vehicle for transdermal delivery of triptolide. | Lihua Chen Xiaoting Zhao Jia Cai Yongmei Guan Sen Wang Hongning Liu Weifeng Zhu Junsong Li | 2013 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2013,3,3: | 1 |

| 18 | Role of daily anal stimulation for intractable functional constipation in infants显示文摘Objective Functional constipation is one of the most common problems in pediatric gastroenterology.The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effectiveness of daily anal stimulation in infants with intractable functional constipation(IFC).Our evaluation was based on clinical improvement and on changes in manometric parameters through time.Methods Infants with IFC treated between January 2018 and December 2019 were included in this retrospective study.Treatment processing included daily anal stimulation for infants and psychological counseling for parents.All cases underwent a complete intervention program and were evaluated for improvement in symptoms and for changes in anorectal manometry within 1 year of follow-up.results A total of 161 patients were included in this study.Positive response was achieved in all patients.Frequency of defecation,change in stool form and decrease in the defecatory pain were significantly relieved in all infants after intervention.On anorectal manometry,no significant difference was found in the peristaltic frequency of distal rectum before and after treatment.There was a significant increase in the mean amplitude of peristalsis and improvement in the rhythm after intervention.In the 1 year of follow-up,three patients had recurrence of constipation requiring colectomy.Conclusion In terms of the high clinical efficacy and limited side effects,daily anal stimulation may be included in the initial part of an intervention program for IFC in infants. | Tianqi Zhu Xiaoyi Sun Dan Zhu Qian You Xiaoting Wan Xinyao Meng Jiexiong Feng | 2020 | World Journal of Pediatric Surgery2020,3,2: | 0 |
| 19 | Invisible vapor catalysis in graphene growth by chemical vapor deposition显示文摘Vapor catalysis was recently found to play a crucial role in superclean graphene growth via chemical vapor decomposition(CVD).However,knowledge of vapor-phase catalysis is scarce,and several fundamental issues,including vapor compositions and their impact on graphene growth,are ambiguous.Here,by combining density functional theory(DFT)calculations,an ideal gas model,and a designed experiment,we found that the vapor was mainly composed of Cui clusters with tens of atoms.The vapor pressure was estimated to be~10^(-12)-10^(-1)1 bar under normal low-pressure CVD system(LPCVD)conditions for graphene growth,and the exposed surface area of Cui clusters in the vapor was 22-269 times that of the Cu substrate surface,highlighting the importance of vapor catalysis.DFT calculations show Cu clusters,represented by Cu17,have strong capabilities for adsorption,dehydrogenation,and decomposition of hydrocarbons.They exhibit an adsorption lifetime and reaction flux six orders of magnitude higher than those on the Cu surface,thus providing a sufficient supply of active C atoms for rapid graphene growth and improving the surface cleanliness of the synthesized graphene.Further experimental validation showed that increasing the amount of Cu vapor improved the as-synthesized graphene growth rate and surface cleanliness.This study provides a comprehensive understanding of vapor catalysis and the fundamental basis of vapor control for superclean graphene rapid growth. | Xiucai Sun Xiaoting Liu Zhongti Sun Xintong Zhang Yuzhu Wu Yeshu Zhu Yuqing Song Kaicheng Jia Jincan Zhang Luzhao Sun Wan-Jian Yin Zhongfan Liu | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,5: | 0 |
