1A model and experimental study of phosphate uptake kinetics in algae:Considering surface adsorption and P-stress显示文摘Phosphorus is an important limiting nutrient in many ecosystems.Consequently,there is increasing interest on phosphate uptake and algal growth due to the increasing frequency and magnitude of algal blooms induced by eutrophication.The co-existence of surface adsorbed and intracellular phosphorus pools indicate that phosphate uptake by phytoplankton is,to some extent,a two-stage kinetic process.However,almost all previous uptake models considered the internal uptake stage only and ignored the possible impact of surface adsorption.In this article,a two-stage kinetic uptake model considering both surface adsorption and P-stress on phosphate uptake by algae was constructed and compared to conventional one-stage models,based on experimental data on short-term uptake kinetics of a green algae S.quadricauda.Results indicated that with suitable parameters,the two-stage uptake model not only fit the experimental data better,but also gave more reasonable and realistic explanations to the phosphate uptake process.The results are meaningful as surface-adsorption of phosphate may affect the uptake process of phosphate and assist in understanding realistic phosphate uptake kinetics in phytoplankton.Bo Yao Beidou Xi Chunming Hu Shouliang Huo Jing Su Hongliang Liu 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,2:15

3Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 4Cell multiplication, apoptosis and p-Akt protein expression of bone mesenchymal stem cells of rat under hypoxia environment显示文摘Objective: To elucidate whether cell multiplication, apoptosis, glucose intake and p-Akt protein expression of bone Mesenchy-mal Stem Cells(MSCs) of rats is influenced by a hypoxic environment ex vivo. Methods: Passage 3 of bone marrow MSCs takenfrom Wistar rats, were cultured in a culturing chamber with 94%N2, 1%O2, 5%CO2 at 37℃. At different hypoxia time points, 0, 0.5,1, 4 and 8 h, glucose uptake was assayed by using radiation isotope 3H-G, Apoptotic Rate(AR) and dead rate(DR) were analyzedby flow cytometry(FCM) after Annexin V/PI staining, cell multiplication(by MTT methods) and p-Akt protein by immunocyto-chemistry and western blot. Results: Assay for CD29+, CD44+, CD71+, CD34- , Tn T+(after 5-azacytidine agent inducing) andALP+(after bone differentiation agent inducing) suggested these bone-derived cells were MSCs. The 3H-G intaking ratio(CPM/flask value: 157 ±11, 110 ±11, 107 ±13, 103 ±10, 100 ±9 and 98 ±10) of MSCs at different hypoxia time points, significantlydecreased compared to that of normoxia(P < 0.01) and tended to descend slowly with hypoxia time duration, for which there wasno statistical significance(P > 0.05). The AR(0.09 ±2.03%, 12.9 ±1.72%, 13.7 ±2.26%, 13.8 ±3.01%, 14.1 ±2.78% and 14.7 ±4.01% at 0, 0.5, 1, 4 and 8 h, respectively, P < 0.01) and DR (0.04 ±1.79%, 0.93 ±1.85%, 3.11 ±2.14%, 4.09 ±2.36%, 4.72 ±2.05% and 4.91 ±3.72% at 0, 0.5, 1, 4 and 8 h, respectively, P < 0.05) at different hypoxia time points significantly increasedcompared to those time in normoxia; The AR further went up with time (P < 0.05), however there was no statistical significance(P > 0.05) for the DR. Optical absorption value of MTT methods at different hypoxia time points significantly decreased com-pared to those with a corresponding normoxia time (P < 0.01) and degraded with time (in an hypoxic environment - P < 0.01).IOD of p-Akt protein of MSCs at different hypoxia time points significantly increased (0.367 ±0.031, 0.556 ±0.023, 0.579 ±0.013, 0.660 ±0.024, 0.685 ±0.039 and 0.685 ±0.011, respectively) compared to their equivalents in normoxia (P<0.05), how-ever, there was no statistical significance (P > 0.05) for different hypoxia time points. Hypoxia may result in ultramicrostructurechanges, such as defluvium of Microvilli, apoptotic body, 'margination'and so on and are further aggravated with hypoxia timestretching. 7Arch-dam crack deformation monitoring hybrid model based on XFEM显示文摘An extended finite element method incorporated with the cohesive crack model(CCM-based XFEM) is developed in consideration of crack tip enrichment.It could improve the accuracy and is introduced into dam safety monitoring for the first time.Firstly,the proposed method is verified for a benchmark concrete beam by comparing the results with those of numerical investigations obtained by other researchers.Furthermore,it is adopted as an alternative method for building the deformation hybrid models of non-stable cracks in an arc dam,for the reason that classical FEMs are cumbersome in modeling the cohesive crack growth due to the need of remeshing the moving discontinuities.Case study proves that the fitted results of the mentioned deformation hybrid model,better than the classical statistical model,are well consistent with the measured data and reliable to forecast the development tendency of crack deformation.Therefore,the present CCM-based XFEM could provide a practical way to simulate and monitor the cracking process in concrete arch dam.ZHENG DongJian HUO ZhongYan LI Bo 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,10:9
8Development of database of real-world diesel vehicle emission factors for China显示文摘A database of real-world diesel vehicle emission factors, based on type and technology, has been developed following tests on more than 300 diesel vehicles in China using a portable emission measurement system. The database provides better understanding of diesel vehicle emissions under actual driving conditions. We found that although new regulations have reduced real-world emission levels of diesel trucks and buses significantly for most pollutants in China, NOx emissions have been inadequately controlled by the current standards, especially for diesel buses, because of bad driving conditions in the real world. We also compared the emission factors in the database with those calculated by emission factor models and used in inventory studies. The emission factors derived from COPERT(Computer Programmer to calculate Emissions from Road Transport) and MOBILE may both underestimate real emission factors, whereas the updated COPERT and PART5(Highway Vehicle Particulate Emission Modeling Software) models may overestimate emission factors in China. Real-world measurement results and emission factors used in recent emission inventory studies are inconsistent,which has led to inaccurate estimates of emissions from diesel trucks and buses over recent years. This suggests that emission factors derived from European or US-based models will not truly represent real-world emissions in China. 9The Low Energy X-ray telescope (LE) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Low Energy X-ray telescope(LE) is one of the three main instruments of the Insight-Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT). It is equipped with Swept Charge Device(SCD) sensor arrays with a total geometrical area of 384 cm^2 and an energy band from 0.7 to 13 ke V. In order to evaluate the particle induced X-ray background and the cosmic X-ray background simultaneously, LE adopts collimators to define four types of Field Of Views(FOVs), i.e., 1.6°×6°, 4°×6°, 50°-60°×2°-6 oand the blocked ones which block the X-ray by an aluminum cover. LE is constituted of three detector boxes(LEDs) and an electric control box(LEB) and achieves a good energy resolution of 140 e V@5.9 ke V, an excellent time resolution of 0.98 ms, as well as an extremely low pileup(<1%@18000 cts/s). 11Antioxidant Effect of Human Selenium-containing Single-chain Fv in Rat Cardiac Myocytes显示文摘Reactive oxygen species(ROS) plays a key role in human heart diseases. Glutathione peroxidase(GPX) functions as an antioxidant as it catalyzes the reduction of hydroperoxide. In order to investigate the antioxidant effect of human selenium-containing single-chain Fv(Se-scFv-B3), a new mimic of GPX, a model system of hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)-induced rat cardiac myocyte damage was established. The cardiac myocyte damage was characterized in terms of cell viability, lipid peroxidation, cell membrane integrity, and intracellular H2O2 level. The Se-scFv-B3 significantly reduced H2O2-induced cell damage as shown by the increase of cell viability, the decline of malondialdehyde(MDA) production, lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) release, and intracellular H2O2 level. 17Value of urine IL-8, NGAL and KIM-1 for the early diagnosis of acute kidney injury in patients with ureteroscopic lithotripsy related urosepsis显示文摘Purpose::To investigate the clinical value of urine interleukin-18(IL-8),neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin(NGAL)and kidney injury molecule-1(KIM-1)for the early diagnosis of acute kidney injury(AKI)in patients with ureteroscopic lithotripsy(URL)related urosepsis.Methods::A retrospective study was carried out in 157 patients with urosepsis after URL.The patients were divided into AKI group and non-AKI group according to the Kidigo guideline and urine IL-8,NGAL and KIM-1 levels were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay at 0,4,12,24 and 48 h after the surgery.Receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was used to evaluate the diagnostic value of these three biomarkers for postoperative AKI.Results::The level of urine IL-8,NGAL and KIM-1 in AKI group was significantly higher than that in non-AKI group at 4,12,24 and 48 h(p<0.01).The ROC analysis showed the combined detection of urine IL-8,NGAL and KIM-1 at 12 h had a larger area under curve(AUC)than a single marker(0.997,95%CI:0.991-0.998),and the sensitivity and specificity were 98.2%and 96.7%,respectively.Pearson correlation analysis showed that the levels of urine NGAL at 4,12,24 and 48 h in AKI patients were positively correlated with the levels of urine KIM-1 and IL-18(p<0.01).Conclusion::AKI could be quickly recognized by the elevated level of urine IL-8,NGAL and KIM-1 in patients with URL-related urosepsis.Combined detection of the three urine biomarkers at 12 h after surgery had a better diagnostic performance,which may be an important reference for the early diagnosis of AKI.Dan Tan Liang Zhao Wei Peng Fang-Hao Wu Guo-Bin Zhang Bo Yang Wen-Qian Huo 2022Chinese Journal of Traumatology2022,25,1:6

Cronobacter spp. are frequently resistant to β-lactam derivatives, macrolides, and aminoglycosides. In addition, multi-resistant strains have also been detected. In China, the isolation rate of Cronobacter spp. from commercial powdered infant formula(PIF) or follow-up formula(FUF) is relatively high. Nevertheless, clinical cases of Cronobacter infection have been ignored to date. Here we describe two cases of Cronobacter infection detected at the Wuhan Women and Children Medical Care Center Hospital(Wuhan City, China). We provide the genomic analysis of the isolates and the antibiotic-resistance profiles of the two strains. The Cronobacter strains identified in this study were not susceptible to third-generation cephalosporins, aminoglycoside, and/or trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. Whole genome sequencing revealed various genes known to encode antibiotic resistance. Future studies are needed to determine whether the genes predicted in this study are functional. 20Assessment of FY-4A and Himawari-8 Cloud Top Height Retrieval through Comparison with Ground-Based Millimeter Radar at Sites in Tibet and Beijing显示文摘The accuracy of passive satellite cloud top height (CTH) retrieval shows regional dependence. This paper assesses the CTH derived from the FY-4A and Himawari-8 satellites through comparison with those from the ground-based millimeter radar at two sites: Yangbajing, Tibet, China (YBJ), and the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Beijing, China. The comparison shows that Himawari-8 missed more CTHs at night than FY-4A, especially at YBJ. It is found that the CTH difference (CTHD;radar CTH minus satellite CTH) for FY-4A and Himawari-8 is 0.06 ± 1.90 km and −0.02 ± 2.40 km at YBJ respectively, and that is 0.93 ± 2.24 km and 0.99 ± 2.37 km at IAP respectively. The discrepancy between the satellites and radar at IAP is larger than that at YBJ. Both satellites show better performance for mid-level and low-level clouds than for high-level clouds at the two sites. The retrievals from FY-4A agree well with those from Himawari-8, with a mean difference of 0.08 km at YBJ and 0.06 km at IAP. It is found that the CTHD decreases as the cloud depth increases at both sites. However, the CTHD has no obvious dependence on cloud layers and fractions. Investigations show that aerosol concentration has little impact on the CTHD.
