| 1 | Intraoperative laparoscopic complications for urological cancer procedures显示文摘AIM: To structure the rate of intraoperative complications that requires an intraoperative or perioperative resolution. METHODS: We perform a literature review of Medline database. The research was focused on intraoperative laparoscopic procedures inside the field of urological oncology. General rate of perioperative complications in laparoscopic urologic surgery is described to be around 12.4%. Most of the manuscripts published do not make differences between pure intraoperative, intraoperative with postoperative consequences and postoperative complications. RESULTS: We expose a narrative statement of complications, possible solutions and possible preventions for most frequent retroperitoneal and pelvic laparoscopic surgery. We expose the results with the following order: retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery(radical nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, nephroureterectomy and adrenalectomy) and pelvic laparoscopic surgery(radical prostatectomy and radical cystectomy).CONCLUSION: Intraoperative complications vary from different series. | 2 | Powder metallurgy with space holder for porous titanium implants:A review显示文摘One of the biggest challenges in the biocompatibility of implantable metals is the prevention of the stress shielding effect,which is related to the coupling of the bone-metal mechanical properties.This stress shielding phenomenon provokes bone resorption and the consequent adverse effects on prosthesis fixation.However,it can be inhibited by adapting the stiffness of the implant material.Since the use of titanium(Ti)porous structures is a great alternative not only to inhibit this effect but also to improve the osteointegration of orthopedic and dental implants,a brief description of the techniques used for their manufacturing and a review of the current commercialized implants produced from porous Ti assemblies are compiled in this work.As powder metallurgy(PM)with space holder(SH)is a powerful technology used to produce porous Ti structures,it is here discussed its potential for the fabrication of medical devices from the perspectives of both design and manufacture.The most important parameters of the technique such as the size and shape of the initial metallic particles,the SH and binder type of materials,the compaction pressure of the green form,and in the sintering stage,the temperature,atmosphere,and time are reviewed according to the bibliography reported.Furthermore,the importance of the porosity and its types together with the influence of the mentioned parameters in the final porosity and,consequently,in the ultimate mechanical properties of the structure are discussed.Finally,a few examples of the PM-SH application for the manufacturing of orthopedic implants are presented. | Alejandra Rodriguez-Contreras Miquel Punset JoséA.Calero Francisco Javier Gil Elisa Ruperez JoséMaría Manero | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021，，17： | 4 |
| 3 | Anemia in patients with high-risk acute coronary syndromes admitted to Intensive Cardiac Care Units显示文摘Background Little information exists about the role of anemia in patients with acute coronary syndromes(ACS)admitted to Intensive Cardiac Care Units(ICCU).The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of anemia and its impact on management and outcomes in this clinical setting.Methods All consecutive patients admitted to eight different ICCUs with diagnosis of non-ST segment elevation ACS(NSTEACS)were prospectively included.Anemia was defined as hemoglobin<130 g/L in men and<120 g/L in women.The association between anemia and mortality or readmission at six months was assessed by the Cox regression method.Results A total of 629 patients were included.Mean age was 66.6 years.A total of 197 patients(31.3%)had anemia.Coronary angiography was performed in most patients(96.2%).Patients with anemia were significantly older,with a higher prevalence of comorbidities,poorer left ventricle ejection fraction and higher GRACE score values.Patients with anemia underwent less often coronary angiography,but underwent more often intraaortic counterpulsation,non-invasive mechanical ventilation and renal replacement therapies.Both ICCU and hospital stay were significantly longer in patients with anemia.Both the incidence of mortality(HR=3.36,95%CI:1.43–7.85,P=0.001)and the incidence of mortality/readmission were significantly higher in patients with anemia(HR=2.80,95%CI:2.03–3.86,P=0.001).After adjusting for confounders,the association between anemia and mortality/readmission remained significant(P=0.031).Conclusions Almost one of three NSTEACS patients admitted to ICCU had anemia.Most patients underwent coronary angiography.Anemia was independently associated to poorer outcomes at 6 months. | Victoria Lorente Jaime Aboal Cosme Garcia Jordi Sans-Rosello Antonia Sambola Rut Andrea Carlos Tomas Gil Bonet David Vinas Nabil el Ouaddi Santiago Montero Javier Cantalapiedra Margarida Pujol Isabel Hernandez Maria Perez-Rodriguez Isaac Llao Jose C Sanchez-Salado Miquel Gual Albert Ariza-Sole 无 | 2020 | Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2020，17，1： | 2 |

| 8 | Serum levels of the novel adipokine isthmin-1 are associated with obesity in pubertal boys显示文摘Objectives To evaluate whether there is an association between the serum levels of the novel insulin-like adipokine isthmin-1(ISM1)and obesity-related phenotypes in a population of Spanish children and to investigate the plausible molecular alterations behind the alteration of the serum levels of this protein in children with obesity.Methods The study population is a sub-cohort of the PUBMEP research project,consisting of a cross-sectional population of 119 pubertal children with overweight(17 boys,19 girls),obesity(20 boys,25 girls),and normal weight(17 boys,21 girls).All subjects were classified into experimental groups according to their sex,obesity,and insulin resistance(IR)status.They were counted anthropometry,glucose and lipid metabolism,inflammation and cardiovascular biomarkers as well as isthmin-1(ISM1)serum levels.This population was intended as a discovery population to elucidate the relationship between obesity and ISM1 levels in children.Furthermore,the study population had blood whole-genome DNA methylation examined,allowing deepening into the obesity–ISM1 molecular relationship.Results Higher serum ISM1 levels were observed in boys with obesity than in normal weight(P=0.004)and overweight(P=0.007)boys.ISM1 serum levels were positively associated with body mass index(BMI)Z-score(P=0.005)and fat mass(P=0.058)and negatively associated with myeloperoxidase(MPO)(P=0.043)in boys.Although we did not find associations between ISM1 serum levels and metabolic outcomes in girls,which may indicate a putative sexual dimorphism,fat mass was positively associated in all children,including boys and girls(P=0.011).DNA methylation levels in two-enhancer-related CpG sites of ISM1(cg03304641 and cg14269097)were associated with serum levels of ISM1 in children.Conclusions ISM1 is associated with obesity in boys at the pubertal stage,elucidating how this protein might be of special relevance as a new biomarker of obesity in children.Further studies including a longitudinal design during puberty are needed. | Francisco Javier Ruiz‑Ojeda Augusto Anguita‑Ruiz Maria C.Rico Rosaura Leis Gloria Bueno Luis A.Moreno Mercedes Gil‑Campos Ángel Gil Concepción M.Aguilera | 2023 | World Journal of Pediatrics2023，19，9： | 1 |
