Synthesis of growth-type polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) using the solvent Fe_(55)Ni_(29)Co_(16) alloy under HPHT显示文摘A growth-type polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) was synthesized under high temperature and high pressure (HPHT). The infiltration technique was used with an Fe55Ni29Co16 (KOV) alloy as the sintering solvent. The morphology and weight ratio of the PDC were investigated through scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electron dispersion spectroscopy (EDS). Note that the KOV alloy evenly infiltrated throughout the polycrystalline diamond (PCD) layer and WC-Co substrate in a short sintering time due to its low viscosity and high soakage capability. A transition layer confirmed the presence of the MxC phase near the interface of the PDC, which can make the diamond layer and WC-Co substrate combine as a complex material. X-ray diffraction (XRD) performed on the PCD layer confirmed the presence of cubic diamond, WC, cubic CoCx, the high temperature cubic phase of α-Co, the alloy phase of FeNix, and no graphite phase. Besides, a surface residual stress of the PCD layer, measured with reasonable accuracy using micro-Raman spectroscopy, is found to be a homogeneous compressive stress with an average value of 0.16 GPa, much lower than that of the powders-mixing method. | JIA HongSheng JIA XiaoPeng MA HongAn LI HaiBo | 2012 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,8: | 9
Effect of Traveling Magnetic Field on Mould-Filling Length of the A357 Melt during Casting Thin Walled Plate显示文摘In order to improve the mould filling ability, the method for production of thin-walled castings in the travelingmagnetic field was applied. The relationship between magnetic field density and input voltage as well as distancewas investigated, and the mould filling length of A357 melt has been studied. The electromagnetic forcesappliedon the melt were also analyzed. The result shows that the mould-filling length of the melt increase rapidly with theincrease of magnetic flux density. The mould filling lengths in gypsum upper mould and magnetic material uppermould were compared from the standpoint of application. It demonstrated that the steel upper mould is superior togypsum mould. | Tiejun ZHANG, Jingjie GUO, Yanqing SU, Hongsheng DING, Weisheng BI, Jim JIA and Hengzhi FUSchool of Materials Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin 150001, China | 2003 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2003,19,1: | 8
Effect of moxa smoke produced during combustion of Aiye(Folium Artemisiae Argyi) on behavioral changes in mice inhaling the smoke显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects that inhalation of the combustion products of the traditional Chinese herb Aiye(Folium Artemisiae Argyi) has on the central nervous system.METHODS: Forty Kunming mice(half male) were randomly assigned(n = 10/group) to a control group(C) or one of three moxa smoke concentration groups(% opacity): low(L1; 0.4%), medium(M1; 2%), and high(H1; 15%). Mice in the latter three groups were exposed to moxa smoke in a dynamic gas exposure cabinet for 20 min per day for7 days. Mice in control group were placed in the same cabinet without any intervention. For the sleep experiments, another 50 mice were divided into five groups of 10 mice each: a saline-injected control group, L1 + pentobarbital sodium(PS)-injected group, M1+PS group, H1(15%)+PS group, and a positive control group(10 mg/kg, chlorpromazine, p.o.). The weight, general activities, locomotor activities, rotarod performance, sleep duration, and sleeping rate induced by a subthreshold dose of pentobarbital sodium were recorded in the mice, and the composition of moxa smoke was analyzed using headspace gas chromatography(GC-HS).RESULTS: A low concentration of smoke significantly decreased the frequency of locomotor activities and the time for which the mice remaining on the rotarod; however, a high smoke concentration significantly prolonged the pentobarbital-induced sleeping time and sleeping rate.CONCLUSION: The concentration-dependent relaxing effects of moxa smoke on the Central Nervous System(CNS) were confirmed. Moreover, GC-HS analysis showed that the component present in the highest concentration in moxa smoke was eucalyp-tol, an essential oil well recognized for its soothing effects on the CNS. This may therefore be accountable for the sedative effects of moxa smoke. | Yang Jia Zheng Xiaojun Jin Ran Han Li Ha Lue Li Jun Wang Lei Liu Ping Chu Zhusheng Huang Chang Chang Hongsheng Lao Lixing Zhao Baixiao | 2016 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,6: | 8
HPHT preparation and Micro-Raman characterization of polycrystalline diamond compact with low residual stress显示文摘High quality grown polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) with low residual stress was prepared using the infiltration method with nickel based alloys as the solvent under high temperature and high pressure (HPHT). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to observe the micro morphology of the diamond layer and the diamond/WC substrate interface. It was found that dense and interlaced microstructure with diamond-diamond (D-D) direct bonding formed in the diamond layer of PDC. Micro-Raman spectroscopy was used to measure the Raman shift of diamonds in the polycrystalline diamond (PCD) layer and the residual stress was calculated based on the Raman shift of diamonds. Experimental results show that the residual stress of PCD layer is compressive stress, and the range of the residual stress is from 0.075 to 0.250 GPa in the whole PCD layer, much lower than that of other reports (up to 1.400 GPa). Moreover, the distribution of the residual stress from the diamond surface layer to the inner cross-section is homogeneous. | JIA HongSheng, MA HongAn, GUO Wei & JIA XiaoPeng* National Laboratory of Superhard Materials, Jilin University, Changchun 130012, China | 2010 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,8: | 7
Effects of Ti additive on HPHT diamond synthesis in Fe-Ni-C system显示文摘Diamond crystals with low nitrogen concentration were synthesized from the Fe-Ni-C system with Ti additive at high pressure and high temperature (HPHT) in a china-type cubic high pressure apparatus (CHPA). The synthesis pressure range was 4.8-5.2 GPa, and the temperature range was 1420-1600 K. The lowest synthesis pressure for diamond fell first and then rose with the increase of Ti additive. The color, shape, surface morphology and nitrogen impurity concentration of the synthesized diamond crystals were characterized using optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and micro Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry. The results show that the Ti additive has significant effects on color, growth rate, crystal shape, surface morphology and nitrogen impurity con- centration of the synthesized diamond crystals. The color of diamond crystals synthesized without Ti additive is yellow, while that with Ti additive becomes light and nearly colorless. The growth rate without Ti additive is higher than that with Ti additive. The crystal shapes of as-grown diamond crystals vary with the increase of Ti additive. The {111} crystal faces become dominant and some {311} crystal faces appear with the increase of Ti additive. The concentration of nitrogen impurity in diamond crystals without Ti additive is higher than that with Ti additive. | HAN Wei JIA XiaoPeng JIA HongSheng HU MeiHua HUANG HaiLiang LIU XiaoBing MA HongAn | 2009 | Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,17: | 6
FEM analysis on the effect of cobalt content on thermal residual stress in polycrystalline diamond compact(PDC)显示文摘Thermal residual stress in Polycrystalline Diamond Compacts(PDCs) is mainly caused by the mismatch in the Coefficients of Thermal Expansion(CTE) between the polycrystalline diamond(PCD) layer and WC-Co substrate. In the PCD layer, the CTE of cobalt exhibit magnitudes four times larger than those of diamond.Cobalt content in the PCD layer has important effects on the thermal residual stress of PDCs.In this work, the effects of cobalt content on thermal residual stress in PCDs were investigated by the Finite Element Method(FEM).The simulation results show that the thermal residual stress decreases firstly, and then increases with increasing cobalt content(1 vol.%-20 vol.%),which reaches a minimum value when the cobalt content is about 10 vol.%.The FEM analysis results are in agreement with our experimental results. It will provide an effective method for further designing and optimizing PDC properties. | LI ZhanChang JIA HongSheng MA HongAn GUO Wei LIU XiaoBing HUANG GuoFeng LI Rui JIA XiaoPeng | 2012 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,4: | 5

Shifting from homogeneous to heterogeneous surfaces in estimating terrestrial evapotranspiration: Review and perspectives显示文摘Terrestrial evapotranspiration(ET)is a crucial link between Earth’s water cycle and the surface energy budget.Accurate measurement and estimation remain a major challenge in geophysical, biological, and environmental studies.Pioneering work, represented by Dalton and Penman, and the development of theories and experiments on turbulent exchange in the atmospheric boundary layer(ABL),laid the foundation for mainstream methodologies in ET estimation.Since the 1990s,eddy covariance(EC)systems and satellite remote sensing have been widely applied from cold to tropical and from arid to humid regions. They cover water surfaces, wetlands, forests, croplands, grasslands, barelands, and urban areas, offering an exceptional number of reports on diverse ET processes.Surface nocturnal ET,hysteresis between ET and environmental forces, turbulence intermittency, island effects on heterogeneous surfaces, and phase transition between underlying surfaces are examples of reported new phenomena, posing theoretical and practical challenges to mainstream ET methodologies.Additionally, based on non-conventional theories, new methods have emerged, such as maximum entropy production and nonparametric approaches.Furthermore,high-frequency on-site observation and aerospace remote sensing technology in combination form multi-scale observations across plant stomata, leaves, plants, canopies, landscapes, and basins. This promotes an insightful understanding of diverse ET processes and synthesizes the common mechanisms of the processes between and across spatial and temporal scales. All the recent achievements in conception, model, and technology serve as the basis for breaking through the known difficulties in ET estimation. We expect that they will provide a rigorous, reliable scientific basis and experimental support to address theoretical arguments of global significance, such as the water-heat-carbon cycle, and solve practical needs of national importance, including agricultural irrigation and food security, precise management of water resources and eco-environmental protection, and regulation of the urban thermal environment and climate change adaptation. | Yuanbo LIU Guoyu QIU Hongsheng ZHANG Yonghui YANG Yinsheng ZHANG Quan WANG Wenzhi ZHAO Li JIA Xibin JI Yujiu XIONG Chunhua YAN Ning MA Shumin HAN Yifan CUI | 2022 | Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,2: | 2
Forming Mechanism of Gaseous Defect in Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb Exhaust Valves Formed with Permanent Mold Centrifugal Casting Method显示文摘A method combining theoretical analysis with experiment is adopted and the flowing process of Ti-48A1-2Cr-2Nb alloy melt poured in a permanent mould during the centrifugal casting process has been analyzed. A mathematical model of the filling process is established and the forming mechanism of internal gaseous defect is summarized. The results of calculation show that the melt fills the mould with varying cross-section area and inclined angle. The filling speed of the cross-section is a function of filling time. The cross-section area is directly proportional to the filling speed and the inclined angle is inversely proportional to the filling speed at a given rotating speed of the platform. Both of them changes more obvious near the mould entrance. The gaseous defect can be formed in several ways and the centrifugal field has an important influence on the formation of the defect. In addition, the filling process in centrifugal field has been verified by wax experiments and the theoretical analysis are consistent with experimental results. | Research Notes Wenbin SHENG, Jingjie GUO, Yanqing SU, Hongsheng DING and Jun JIA School of Materials Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology. | 12 | Technology of back stoping from level floors in gateway and pillar mining areas of extra-thick seams显示文摘According to the special requirements of secondary mining of resources in gateway-and-pillar goaf in extra-thick seams of Shanxi, this paper presents a technical proposal of back stoping from level floors.Numerical simulation and theoretical analysis are used to investigate the compaction characteristics of cavities under stress as well as an appropriate mining height of the primary-mining layer based on different mining widths and pillar widths. For Yangjian coal mine, the mining thickness of the first seam during back stoping from level floor is determined to be 3 m, which meets the relevant requirements.Gateway-and-pillar goaf of a single layer has a range of influence of 9 m vertically. If gateway-and-pillar goaf occurs both in 9-1 and 9-5 layers, the range is extended to within 11.2 m. When the mining width of a gateway is less than 2 m or larger than 5 m, the gateway-and-pillar goaf in the upper layer of the primary-mining seam can be filled in and compacted after stoping. When the working face is 2 m away from the gateway and pillar before entering into it and after passing through it, the coal body under the gateway and pillar is subjected to relatively high stress. During mining of the upper layer, moreover, the working face should interlock the goaf in primary-mining layer for 20 m. | Tu Hongsheng Tu Shihao Zhang Xiaogang Li Zhaoxin Jia Shuai | 2014 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2014,24,2: | 2
Modulation of MMP-2 and TIMP-2 by low dose radiation in mice bearing S180 sarcoma显示文摘Objective To investigate the inhibition of low dose radiation(LDR) on S180 sarcomas and its modulation of MMP-2 and TIMP-2 in mice. Methods S180 subcutaneously implanted tumor model mice were randomly divided into two groups: control(N) and low dose radiation(LDR) groups. N mice were sacrificed after 12 h, whereas LDR mice were sacrificed after 12(LDR-12 h), 24(LDR-24 h), 48(LDR-48 h), and 72(LDR-72 h) h. Thereafter, we measured the tumor volumes. Histopathology was performed, and P-V immunohistochemistry was applied to assess MMP-2 and TIMP-2 expression. Results Compared with the control group, the tumor growth was significantly inhibited in the LDR groups(P < 0.05). MMP-2 expression was considerably reduced in LDR-24h(P < 0.05) and LDR-48h(P < 0.05), whereas the change of TIMP-2 was not obvious in the LDR groups(P > 0.05) in contrast to that of the control group. Conclusion LDR can effectively suppress the growth of S180 implanted tumors by reducing MMP-2, which is associated with invasion and metastasis. | Xiangmin Jia Hongsheng Yu | 2016 | Oncology and Translational Medicine2016,2,2: | 1

Study of amplification coefficient in a water-cooling Gardon-type heat power measuring apparatus显示文摘A new water-cooling Gardon-type heat power measuring apparatus is designed to meet the need of heat power source management and distribution. The steady state measurement mathematic model of the apparatus is built up in theory and the system amplification coefficient is defined as the ratio of the heat power to the temperature difference of the device, with which the value of the measured source power can be calculated easily with the corresponding temperature difference. In order to obtain an optimal heat power measuring system, the coefficients that can influence the relationship between the amplification coefficient, the temperature difference, and the heat power are analyzed. On the basis of these analyses, a set of experimental device is constructed and a number of experiments are carried on. Compared with the input heat power sample data, the error of the experimental measuring results is less than ±2%, and the experimental measuring values are in good agreement with the calculated theoretical ones. The heat power measuring apparatus can be applied in heat flux or heat power measurement in other fields due to its simple structure and high accuracy. | Li Miao Li Yunze Zhang Hongsheng Wang Shengnan Li Yunhua Liu Jia | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,2: | 1

Realizing transmitted metasurface cloak by a tandem neural network显示文摘Being invisible at will has been a long-standing dream for centuries, epitomized by numerous legends;humans have never stopped their exploration steps to realize this dream. Recent years have witnessed a breakthrough in this search due to the advent of transformation optics, metamaterials, and metasurfaces. However, the previous metasurface cloaks typically work in a reflection manner that relies on a high-reflection background, thus limiting the applications. Here, we propose an easy yet viable approach to realize the transmitted metasurface cloak, just composed of two planar metasurfaces to hide an object inside, such as a cat. To tackle the hard-to-converge issue caused by the nonuniqueness phenomenon, we deploy a tandem neural network(T-NN) to efficiently streamline the inverse design. Once pretrained, the T-NN can work for a customer-desired electromagnetic response in one single forward computation, saving a great amount of time. Our work opens a new avenue to realize a transparent invisibility cloak, and the tandem-NN can also inspire the inverse design of other metamaterials and photonics. | ZHENG ZHEN CHAO QIAN YUETIAN JIA ZHIXIANG FAN RAN HAO TONG CAI BIN ZHENG HONGSHENG CHEN ERPING LI | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,5: | 1
