1Mild hypothermia combined with neural stem cell transplantation for hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy: neuroprotective effects of combined therapy显示文摘Neural stem cell transplantation is a useful treatment for ischemic stroke, but apoptosis often occurs in the hypoxic-ischemic environment of the brain after cell transplantation. In this study, we determined if mild hypothermia(27–28°C) can increase the survival rate of neural stem cells(1.0 × 105 /μL) transplanted into neonatal mice with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Long-term effects on neurological functioning of the mice were also examined. After mild hypothermia combined with neural stem cell transplantation, we observed decreased expression levels of inflammatory factor nuclear factor-kappa B and apoptotic factor caspase-3, reduced cerebral infarct volumes, increased survival rate of transplanted cells, and marked improvements in neurological function. Thus, the neuroprotective effects of mild hypothermia combined with neural stem cell transplantation are superior to those of monotherapy. 2Pose-relay videometrics based ship deformation measurement system and sea trials显示文摘The measurement of ship deformation has been a difficult problem for the global ship building industry and navigation field research.So far,an effective and proven method for measuring 3D position and attitude deformation remains unavailable.This article proposes an innovative pose-relay videometrics measurement system for ship deformation on the basis of primary research and experimental validation.The system offers solutions to the important technical problems such as infrared marker manufacture,high-precision detection and multi-camera synchronization and control.Sea trials were carried out,and reasonable,long-term,and continuous 3D data of position and attitude deformations between a given deck point and the ship reference,and between the ship's head and the stern were acquired for the first time.The experiments have highlighted the considerable applicability of the proposed method of deformation measurement and long-term monitoring of ships and similar large structures.JIANG GuangWen FU SiHua CHAO ZhiChao YU QiFeng 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,1:6
3A displacement-relay videometric method for surface subsidence surveillance in unstable areas显示文摘When measuring the surface subsidence of unstable areas such as railroad beds and large construction fields, it is not practical to always find stable positions to install measurement instruments. Yet installing those instruments in unstable positions will cause measurement errors or even the complete failure of long-term subsidence surveillance. In this paper, the innovative concept and its method of 'displacement-relay videometrics' are proposed. With the method, a double-headed camera is designed, and two constraints, the 'fixation constraint' and the 'homologous constraint', are established to construct the displacement-relay measurement equations, which can concurrently give the subsidence of the points to be measured and the positions where the cameras are fixed. The method and its measurement system are thus capable of automatically measuring the surface subsidence under the condition that the cameras are mounted on unstable locations over long durations. Therefore, the method has the broad prospect of undertaking automatic, long-term and continuous measurement for surface subsidence in engineering projects such as railroad beds, bridges and the ground beds of tall buildings. 5Identifying and mapping cDNA fragments related to rice photoperiod sensitive genic male sterility显示文摘The differentially expressed cDNA fragments have been obtained by differential screening with cDNA-RAPD technique in photoperiod sensitive genic male sterile (PGMS) rice. Some of them have been reassessed with Northern blot hybridization, from which a PGMS-related positive fragment, RPG43, has been identified. Further analysis on RPG43 with Southern blot and RAPD indicates that the fragment is a single-copy sequence and its mRNA has been processed after transcription. Sequence analysis reveals that RPG43 is 744 bp in length and contains a 60 bp region (from 126th to 185th bp) showing 72% homology to a human DNA sequence, pac pDJ-356d6, on chromosome 11. So it is a new sequence found in plant and its GenBank access number is AF126027. 6A novel in vitro angiogenesis model based on a microfluidic device显示文摘Angiogenesis is very important for many physiological and pathological processes. However, the molecular mechanisms of angiogenesis are unclear. To elucidate the molecular mechanisms of angiogenesis and to develop treatments for 'angiogenesis-dependent' diseases, it is essential to establish a suitable in vitro angiogenesis model. In this study, we created a novel in vitro angiogenesis model based on a microfluidic device. Our model provides an in vivo-like microenvironment for endothelial cells (ECs) cultures and monitors the response of ECs to changes in their microenvironment in real time. To evaluate the potential of this microfluidic device for researching angiogenesis, the effects of pro-angiogenic factors on ECs proliferation, migration and tube-like structure formation were investigated. Our results showed the proliferation rate of ECs in 3D matrix was significantly promoted by the pro-angiogenic factors (with an increase of 59.12%). With the stimulation of pro-angiogenic factors gradients, ECs directionally migrated into the Matrigel from low concentrations to high concentrations and consequently formed multi-cell chords and tube-like structures. 7Identification of differentially expressed genes in photo-period sensitive genic male sterile rice by randomly amplified cDNAs using RAPD primers显示文摘The fertile and sterile young panicle representational populations were constructed by bulked sampling method using young panicles in the photo-period sensitive stage of fertility transformation.Two populations were analyzed using cDNA-RAPD. The results showed that: ( ⅰ ) bulked sampling method can be employed to analyze differentially expressed genes using cDNA-RAPD, taking an advantage in avoiding false positive caused by conventional sampling method. (ⅱ) Among 150 random primers used, 83 primers amplified the same banding patterns, and 34 primers amplified the same banding pattern but different staining of intensity on gel. ( ⅲ ) 33 primers amplified differential cDNA bands between fertile and sterile cDNA populations, and the ratio of polymorphism was 22%. 9Numerical simulation of cavitation turbulence in Francis turbine runner with splitter blades显示文摘Cavitation will reduce the turbine performance and even damage the turbine components.To verify the effects of splitter blades on improving the cavitation performance,the cavitation flow inside a Francis turbine runner with splitter blades was numerically simulated by using the Singhal cavitation model and the standard k-ε turbulence model.The distributions of static pressure and gas volume fractions on the surface of the runner blades were predicated under different conditions,and the cavitation in the flow field of the runner was analyzed.The results show that the static pressure and gas volume fractions are more uniformly distributed on the short blades than those on the long blades in Francis turbines with splitter blades,and there is almost no cavitation on the short blades;their distributions are more uniform under small flow conditions than those under large flow conditions;and large gas volume fractions are concentrated at the outlet tip near the band on the suction side of the long blade.The installation of splitter blades can improve the cavitation performance of conventional Francis turbines.WANG Huiyan LIU Xiaobing JIANG Qifeng HUA Hong OU Shunbing 2020排灌机械工程学报2020,38,1:2

12SCUBE2 mediates bone metastasis of luminal breast cancer by modulating immune-suppressive osteoblastic niches显示文摘Estrogen receptor (ER)-positive luminal breast cancer is a subtype with generally lower risk of metastasis to most distant organs. However, bone recurrence occurs preferentially in luminal breast cancer. The mechanisms of this subtype-specific organotropism remain elusive. Here we show that an ER-regulated secretory protein SCUBE2 contributes to bone tropism of luminal breast cancer. Single-cell RNA sequencing analysis reveals osteoblastic enrichment by SCUBE2 in early bone-metastatic niches. SCUBE2 facilitates release of tumor membrane-anchored SHH to activate Hedgehog signaling in mesenchymal stem cells, thus promoting osteoblast differentiation. Osteoblasts deposit collagens to suppress NK cells via the inhibitory LAIR1 signaling and promote tumor colonization. SCUBE2 expression and secretion are associated with osteoblast differentiation and bone metastasis in human tumors. Targeting Hedgehog signaling with Sonidegib and targeting SCUBE2 with a neutralizing antibody both effectively suppress bone metastasis in multiple metastasis models. 17An event-related potential observation of preposition processing in Chinese: Is N280 a specific component for Chinese prepositions?显示文摘BACKGROUND:Studies have shown that closed-class words,such as prepositions and conjunctions,induce a left anterior negativity(N280),indicating that N280 should be a specific component of the word category.OBJECTIVE:To observe if Chinese prepositions and verbs exhibit different linguistic functions,to determine whether they are processed by different neural systems,and to verify that N280 is a specific component.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:The observed neurolinguistics experiment was performed at Xuzhou Normal University between November and December 2006.PARTICIPANTS:Sixteen undergraduate students,comprising 8 females and 8 males,with no mental or neuropathological history,were selected.METHODS:A total of 15 verbs and prepositions were used as linguistic stimuli,and each verb and preposition was combined to produce four correct phrase collocations and four incorrect ones.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Event-related potentials were recorded in the subjects while they read correct or incorrect phases flashed upon a video screen.RESULTS:Both verbs and prepositions elicited negativity at the frontal site in a 230-330 ms window,as well as at the fronto-temporal and central sites in a 350-500 ms window.Neither exhibited significant differences in peak [F(1,15) = 0.144,P = 0.710] and latency [F(1,15) = 0.144,P = 0.710].Both verbs and prepositions elicited negativity at the left and right hemisphere in a 270-400 ms window.CONCLUSION:There was no significant difference between Chinese prepositions and verbs in the neural system process and N280 was not the specific component for closed-class words.Rongping Zhang Huanhai Fang Qifeng Jiang 2008Neural Regeneration Research2008,3,9:0
18Comparative Analysis of Cave Strain and Borehole Bulk Strain of the Tai an Seismic Station显示文摘Based on the cave strain observation data in 2013 at Tai'an seismic station,we use the Venedikov harmonic analysis method to calculate the cave strain measurement and phase lag of the tide factor, and qualitatively evaluate the stability of the tidal factor for observational data evaluation. At the same time, the two measurement items of the observation instrument are calculated,and the correlation strain parameters are extracted and compared. On this basis,the strain parameter time series calculation is carried out on the data quality of Taian seismic station,which is relatively stable,and the 2 sets of instruments are compared. 19A Promising Wound Dressing from Regenerated Silk Fibroin Sponge with Sustain-ed Release of Silver Nanoparticles显示文摘A silk fibroin(SF)spongy wound dressing incorporated with silver nanoparticles(Ag-NPs)was developed for biomedical applications.Ag-NPs were efficiently synthesized in situ via ultra violet(UV)with AgNO_(3) as precursor and silk fibroin as reducing and protecting agent,respectively.After lyophilization,the formed silk fibroin spongy wound dressing(SFWD)exhibited polyporous morphology and inner lamellae structures,with uniform dispersion of Ag-NPs.The porous structure provided SFWD with the ability to absorb tissue exudatealmost 6 times of its own weight,which could guarantee the sustained release of Ag-NPs.By methanol treatment,SFWD showed much improved mechanical properties and more stable to protease XIV.The cyto-compatibility of SFWD was supported by normal adherence and proliferation of NIH3T3 fibroblasts in sponges extracting culture medium.More important,the SFWD showed significant growth inhibition in both plate culture assays and bacterial suspension assays,with Gram-positive(Staphylococcus aureus)and Gram-negative(Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli).In a cutaneous excisional mouse model,the average healing rates of SFWD was significantly higher than control and commercial bandages.The hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining results of the wound section also showed that SFWD could recruit more cells and promote tissue formation on the wound edges.Yang Li Xiaoying Zha Xingliang Xiong Yan Zhang Ying Feng Haojiang Xie Linqing Zhang Qifeng Jiang 2021Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,2:0
20Strong and Tough PAm/SA Hydrogel with Highly Strain Sensitivity显示文摘The hydrogel is a preferred material for flexible wearable sensors.In practical application,it should have high-efficiency mechanical toughness and self-healing performance.Besides,hydrogel requires good affinity and adhe-sion because of its contact with the skin.In this experiment,we made an ultra-tough hydrogel with excellent cell affinity and adhesion.We used sodium alginate(SA)and polyacrylamide(PAm)mixture as a flexible base fluid.Polydopamine reduce graphene oxide(prGO)was used as conductive nanofiller,and then PAm-prGO-SA semi-interpenetrating network hydrogel was formed through Am radical polymerization.The presence of prGO endows the hydrogels with excellent electrical conductivity.Simultaneously,some non-reduced GO forms non-covalent cross-links with PAm,SA,and Polydopamine(PDA)in the hydrogel network.The stress of PAm-prGO-SA hydrogel can reach 750 KPa,and the strain is 900%.The hydrogel,combined with its excellent electrical,mechanical properties,and biocompatibility,is expected to be applied in portable,remote,and real-time health monitoring systems.Lingqin Zhang Qifeng Jiang Yiming Zhao Jie Yuan Xiaoying Zha Haojiang Xie Fankai Kong Xingliang Xiong 2022Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,2:0
