2Polarization oscillating beams constructed by copropagating optical frozen waves显示文摘Polarization oscillating beams, namely, polarization standing waves, commonly formed by a pair of coherent counterpropagating light waves with orthogonal polarizations, oscillate their states of polarization periodically within a wavelength interval, offering conceptual and practical interests in light-matter interactions such as the nonreciprocal magnetoelectric effect, and impressive applications in optical imaging, sensing, and chirality detection. Here, we propose a new class of polarization oscillating beams that longitudinally vary states of polarization with spatial intervals within centimeters via the superposition of two copropagating optical frozen waves with preshaped longitudinal intensity profiles and transverse phase structures. The flexibility and manipulability are demonstrated by creating several polarization oscillating beams with different polarization structures. 3Thermodynamic Analysis of a Modified Ejector-Expansion Refrigeration Cycle with Hot Vapor Bypass显示文摘In this study,a modified ejector-expansion refrigeration cycle(MERC)is proposed for applications in small refrigeration units.A vapor bypass circuit is introduced into the standard ejector expansion refrigeration cycle(ERC)for increasing the ejector pressure lift ratio,thereby lowering the compressor pressure ratio in the MERC.A mathematical model has been established to evaluate the performances of MERC.Analysis results indicate that since a two phase vapor-liquid stream is used to drive the ejector in the MERC,a larger ejector pressure lift ratio can be achieved.Thus,the compressor pressure ratio decreases by 21.1%and the discharge temperature reduces from 93.6℃to 82.1℃ at the evaporating temperature of-55℃ when the vapor quality of two phase vapor-liquid stream increases from 0 to 0.2.In addition,the results show that the higher ejector component efficiencies are effective to reduce the compressor pressure ratio and the discharge temperature.Actually,the discharge temperature reduces from 91.4℃ to 82.1℃ with the ejector component efficiencies increasing from 0.75 to 0.85 at the two phase stream vapor quality of 0.2.Overall,the proposed cycle is found to be feasible in lower evaporating temperature cases.LI Yunxiang YU Jianlin 2019Journal of Thermal Science2019,28,4:5
4An extract from the earthworm Eisenia fetida non-specifically inhibits the activity of influenza and adenoviruses显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To test the in vitro antiviral activity of a crudetissueextract(CTE)fromtheearthwormEisenia fetida,determine any effective components in the CTE,andelucidatepossiblemechanismsofaction.METHODS:A CTE was made by homogenizing earthworms,followed by treatment with ammonium sulfate,then thermal denaturation.Inhibition of virus-induced cytopathic effect(CPE) was used to assess antiviral activity.Chromatographic analysis was used to identify effective components in the CTE.RESULTS:The CTE inhibited viral CPE at non-cytotoxic concentrations.Chromatography indicated that antiviral components corresponded to three active peaks indicative of proteases,nucleases and lysozymes.For adenoviruses,reduction in viral activity occurred for 100 μg/mL CTE.The reduction in adenoviral activity for four fractions was 100%,91.8%,86.9%,and 94.7%.For influenza viruses,reduction in viral activity of 100%,86.6%,69.1% and 88.3% was observed for 37 μg/mL CTE.In addition,three active fractions mixture had stronger antiviral activity(98.7% and 96.7%) than three fractions alone.Gel electrophoresis results indicated that nucleases from E.fetida could degrade the genome of influenza viruses and adenoviruses.CONCLUSION:The earthworm CTE displayed non-specific antiviral properties,possibly mediated by a combination of proteases,nucleases and lysozymes.Nucleases likely participate in the antiviral process,and degrade the genome of the virus thereby preventing further replication.Zhizhen Liu Jianhua Wang Jianlin Zhang Baofeng Yu Bo Niu 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4:4
5ZmOST1 mediates abscisic acid regulation of guard cell ion channels and drought stress responses显示文摘The phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA) is an important mediator in the drought response, participating in, among other processes, stomatal movements. In Arabidopsis thaliana, the serine/threonine protein kinase,OST1, regulates this response, but the function of its maize homolog has yet to be established. Here, we isolated ZmOST1 and show that its encoded protein indeed acts to regulate guard cell movement. ZmOST1 was ubiquitously expressed throughout the plant, being highly expressed in guard cells, and inducible both by exogenous ABA and water stress. Transient expression of a ZmOST1-GFP fusion protein, in maize mesophyll protoplasts, indicated its subcellular localization in the cytoplasm and nucleus. A Zmost1 loss-of-function mutant exhibited reduced sensitivity to ABA-activated slow anion channels in maize guard cells, and reduced drought tolerance. Constitutive expression of ZmOST1, in an A. thaliana ost1-1 mutant rescued the phenotype with respect both to the sensitivity of guard cell slow anion currents to ABA treatment and stomatal closure. 6Soliton fiber laser mode locked with two types of film-based Bi2Te3 saturable absorbers显示文摘We propose a low-threshold soliton fiber laser passively mode locked with two different types of film-like saturable absorbers, one of which is fabricated by mixing Bi2Te3 with de-ionized water, as well as polyvinyl alcohol(PVA), and then evaporating them in a Petri dish, and the other of which is prepared by directly dropping Bi2Te3 solution on the PVA film. Both Bi2Te3–PVA films exhibit outstanding features of low loss, high flexibility, and easy synthesis. By incorporating Bi2Te3–PVA films into fiber lasers, stable single-soliton emissions are obtained at a low pump power of 13 mW. 8Self-accelerated optical activity in free space induced by the Gouy phase显示文摘Optical activity(OA)is the rotation of the polarization orientation of the linearly polarized light as it travels through certain materials that are of mirror asymmetry,including gases or solutions of chiral molecules such as sugars and proteins,as well as metamaterials.The necessary condition for achieving OA is the birefringence of two circular polarizations in material.Here,we propose a new kind of self-accelerated OA in free space,based on the intrinsic Gouy phase induced mode birefringence of two kinds of quasi-non-diffracting beams.We provide a detailed insight into this kind of self-accelerated OA by analyzing angular parameters,including angular direction,velocity,acceleration,and even the polarization transformation trajectory.As the Gouy phase exists for any wave,this kind of self-accelerated OA can be implemented in other waves beyond optics,from acoustic and elastic waves to matter waves.PENG LI XINHAO FAN DONGJING WU SHENG LIU YU LI JIANLIN ZHAO 2020Photonics Research2020,8,4:2

11MobSafe:Cloud Computing Based Forensic Analysis for Massive Mobile Applications Using Data Mining显示文摘With the explosive increase in mobile apps, more and more threats migrate from traditional PC client to mobile device. Compared with traditional Win+Intel alliance in PC, Android+ARM alliance dominates in Mobile Internet, the apps replace the PC client software as the major target of malicious usage. In this paper, to improve the security status of current mobile apps, we propose a methodology to evaluate mobile apps based on cloud computing platform and data mining. We also present a prototype system named MobSafe to identify the mobile app's virulence or benignancy. Compared with traditional method, such as permission pattern based method, MobSafe combines the dynamic and static analysis methods to comprehensively evaluate an Android app. In the implementation, we adopt Android Security Evaluation Framework (ASEF) and Static Android Analysis Framework (SAAF), the two representative dynamic and static analysis methods, to evaluate the Android apps and estimate the total time needed to evaluate all the apps stored in one mobile app market. Based on the real trace from a commercial mobile app market called AppChina, we can collect the statistics of the number of active Android apps, the average number apps installed in one Android device, and the expanding ratio of mobile apps. As mobile app market serves as the main line of defence against mobile malwares, our evaluation results show that it is practical to use cloud computing platform and data mining to verify all stored apps routinely to filter out malware apps from mobile app markets. 12Dexmedetomidine maintains blood-brain barrier integrity by inhibiting Drp1-related endothelial mitochondrial dysfunction in ischemic stroke显示文摘Stroke is the second leading cause of death and long-term disability worldwide,which lacks effective treatment.Perioperative stroke is associated with much higher rates of mortality and disability.The neuroprotective role of dexmedetomidine(Dex),a highly selective agonist of alpha2-adrenergic receptor,has been reported in a stroke rat model,and it was found that pretreatment of Dex before stroke could alleviate blood–brain barrier(BBB)breakdown.However,the underlying mechanisms are still unknown.As the brain endothelial cells are the main constituents of BBB and in high demand of energy,mitochondrial function of endothelial cells plays an important role in the maintenance of BBB.Given that dynamin-related protein 1(Drp1)is a protein mediating mitochondrial fission,with mitochondrial fusion that balances mitochondrial morphology and ensures mitochondria function,the present study was designed to investigate the possible role of Drp1 in endothelial cells involved in the neuroprotective effects of Dex in ischemic stroke.Our results showed that preconditioning with Dex reduced infarction volume,alleviated brain water content and BBB damage,and improved neurological scores in middle cerebral artery occlusion rats.Meanwhile,Dex enhanced cell activity and decreased cell apoptosis in oxygen-glucose deprivation human brain microvascular endothelial cells in vitro.These protective effects of Dex were correlated with the mitochondrial morphology integrality of endothelial cells,mediated by increased phosphorylation of serine 637 in Drp1,and could be reversed byα2-adrenergic receptor antagonist Yohimbine and AMP-activated protein kinase inhibitor Compound C.These findings suggest new molecular pathways involved in the neuroprotective effects of Dex in ischemic stroke.As Dex is routinely used as a sedative drug clinically,our findings provide molecular evidence that it has perioperative neuroprotection from ischemic stroke.Wei Zhou Yunchun Zhang Yingfu Jiao Wen Yin Haiping Dong Saihong Xu Dan Tang Junli Jiang Jianlin Shao Zhenhong Wang Weifeng Yu 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,9:2

14RNA-binding protein QKI regulates contact inhibition via Yes-associate protein in ccRCC显示文摘Contact inhibition adjusts organ size to the proper size and ensures the cultured cells growing to a monolayer.By regulating the downstream coordinator YAP,the evolutionarily conserved Hippo transduction pathway attunes cell growth and death in response to cell contact inhibition,polarity,self-renewal,and differentiation.Dysregulation of this pathway is involved in various diseases such as cancer.RNA-binding protein QKI regulates cell proliferation,metabolism,division,and immunity in various cancer models,but its role in cancer cell contact inhibition remains unclear.In this study,we aimed to clarify the relationship between QKI and YAP,and the role of their interaction in cell contact inhibition.We found a lower QKI expression level in sparse condition,whereas a higher expression level in confluent condition by western blot analysis and immunofluorescence assay.QKI knockdown elevated cell proliferation and invasion both in vitro and in vivo.Strikingly,the results of CCK-8 assay,colony formation assay,and transwell assay showed that the phenomenon was in accord with the expression level of pYAP and reverse with YAP.Higher levels of Wnt3a and β-catenin were also found in xenografts of QKI-knockdown clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) CAKI-1 cells by western blot analysis and immumohistochemical staining.Finally,a positive correlation between QKI and pYAP was found in clinical specimens by immunohistochemistry.Thus,as a negative regulator of YAP,QKI attuned the cell contact inhibition,leading to inhibition of cancer cell proliferation and invasion through Wnt and GPCR pathway.Zheng Zhu Di Wei Xi'an Li Fuli Wang Fei Yan Zibao Xing Zhao Yan Huanyu Lu Dongsheng Zhai Ziehen Ye Geng Zhang Ping Meng Yu Zheng Jiarui Yuan Zifan Lu Jianlin Yuan 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,1:2

19Performance Analysis of an Ejector Enhanced Two-Stage Auto-Cascade Refrigeration Cycle for Low Temperature Freezer显示文摘In this paper,an ejector enhanced two-stage auto-cascade refrigeration cycle(EARC)using ternary mixture R600a/R32/R1150 is proposed for application of-80℃freezing.In EARC cycle,an ejector was employed to recover the expansion work in the throttling processes and lifted the suction pressure of the compressor.The performances of the ejector enhanced two-stage auto-cascade refrigeration cycle and conventional auto-cascade refrigeration cycle(CARC)were compared using thermodynamic analysis methods.The influences of the important operation parameters including mass fraction ratio of the mixture,fluid quality at the second separator inlet,condensation temperature,evaporation temperature,and expansion ratio of expansion valve on the performances of EARC cycle were discussed in detail.The results indicate that ternary mixture R600a/R32/R1150 has the optimal mass fraction ratio of 0.45/0.2/0.35 with respect to the maximum COP.The EARC cycle yields higher performance than the CARC cycle in terms of COP,exergy efficiency and volumetric refrigeration capacity.And 4.9%-36.5%improvement in COP and 6.9%-34.3%higher exergy efficiency could be obtained in EARC cycle comparing with CARC cycle.The finding of this study suggests that the EARC cycle has a promising application potential for low temperature freezing.BAI Tao LU Yu YAN Gang YU Jianlin 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,6:1
