Theoretical and numerical research of wire array Z-pinch and dynamic hohlraum at IAPCM显示文摘Dense Z-pinch plasmas are powerful and energy-efficient laboratory sources of X-rays,and show the possibility to drive inertial confinement fusion(ICF).Recent advances in wire-array Z-pinch and Z-pinch dynamic hohlraum(ZPDH)researches at the Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics are presented in this paper.Models are setup to study different physical processes.A full circuit model(FCM)was used to study the coupling between Z-pinch implosion and generator discharge.A mass injection model with azimuthal modulation was setup to simulate the wire-array plasma initiation, and the two-dimensional MHD code MARED was developed to investigate the Z-pinch implosion,MRT instability, stagnation and radiation.Implosions of nested and quasi-spherical wire arrays were also investigated theoretically and numerically.Key processes of ZPDH,such as the arrayefoam interaction, formation of the hohlraum radiation,as well as the following capsule ablation and implosion, were analyzed with different radiation magneto-hydrodynamics(RMHD)codes.An integrated 2D RMHD simulation of dynamic hohlraum driven capsule implosion provides us the physical insights of wire-array plasma acceleration, shock generation and propagation, hohlraum formation, radiation ablation, and fuel compression.Ning Ding Yang Zhang Delong Xiao Jiming Wu Zihuan Dai Li Yin Zhiming Gao Shunkai Sun Chuang Xue Cheng Ning Xiaojian Shu Jianguo Wang 2016Matter and Radiation at Extremes2016,1,3:7
Microstructure Characterization of High-heat-input Welding Joint of HSLA Steel Plate for Oil Storage Construction显示文摘In this paper, microstructure and mechanical properties of welding metals in 610 MPa high strength low alloy (HSLA) were studied after high-heat-input welding. Both the base material and the weld joint proved excellent strength and toughness by vibratory electrogas arc (VEGA) welding under 90 to 100 kJ/cm heat-input. The heat-affected zone (HAZ) was comprised of fine-grain zone (FGZ) and coarse-grain zone (CGZ), which characterizes fine granular structure and lathing-bainite substructure. It has found that large quantity of dispersed TiN and M23C6 precipitates restrain structure growing in HAZ and strengthen the weldment together with dislocations in the welded joint.Weihua Sun Guodong Wang Jiming Zhang Dianxiu Xia Hao Sun 2009Journal of Materials Science & Technology2009,25,6:4
Kernel matrix learning with a general regularized risk functional criterion显示文摘Kernel-based methods work by embedding the data into a feature space and then searching linear hypothesis among the embedding data points. The performance is mostly affected by which kernel is used. A promising way is to learn the kernel from the data automatically. A general regularized risk functional (RRF) criterion for kernel matrix learning is proposed. Compared with the RRF criterion, general RRF criterion takes into account the geometric distributions of the embedding data points. It is proven that the distance between different geometric distributions can be estimated by their centroid distance in the reproducing kernel Hilbert space. Using this criterion for kernel matrix learning leads to a convex quadratically constrained quadratic programming (QCQP) problem. For several commonly used loss functions, their mathematical formulations are given. Experiment results on a collection of benchmark data sets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.Chengqun Wang Jiming Chen Chonghai Hu Youxian Sun 2010Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2010,21,1:3
Origin and future distribution of the new A (H1N1) influenza virus emerging in North America in 2009显示文摘The origin of the new A (H1N1) influenza virus recently emerging in North America is a hot controversial topic of significance in disease control and risk assessment. Some experts claimed that it was an unusually mongrelized mix of human, avian and swine influenza viruses, while some others concluded that it was totally a simple re-assortment hybrid of two lineages of swine influenza viruses. Here the phylogenetic diversity of the viral PB1,PA and PB2 gene sequences using online web servers, and the results suggest that all the 8 genetic segments of the new virus were possibly from two lineages of swine influenza viruses, and one of the lineage was a mongrelized mix of human, avian and swine influenza viruses emerging in the world approximately 10 years ago.Considering the recent epidemiological trends of the new virus,we believe it will spread more widely in the world and persist long in human populations. It also could spread among swine populations. The future wide spreading of the new virus may coincide the disappearance of a subtype of previous human influenza A virus.CHEN JiMing SUN YingXue LIU Shuo JIANG WenMing CHEN Jie HOU GuangYu LI JinPing 2009Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,13:3
Genetic diversity and association analyses of fruit traits with microsatellite ISSRs in Sapindus显示文摘Sapindus mukorossi Gaertn. and S. delavayi Franchet are among the most valuable species in the genus Sapindus for their commercially exploitable plant oils and chemicals. However, few studies have addressed genetic variation and improvement for either species. We evaluated the genetic diversity of germplasm from selected plus trees within a wide region and established the relationship between fruit traits and molecular markers. An association analysis based on inter-simple sequence repeats(ISSRs)provided a genetic basis for studies of fruit traits. A total of 247 loci were detected by scanning 61 trees of S. mukorossi and S. delavayi using 16 ISSR markers. Genetic diversity parameters were estimated for selected superior trees(or germplasm) and S. mukorossi and S. delavayi were categorized into two main groups, as well as into four groups within S. mukorossi. An association analysis between the ISSR markers and 14 fruit traits used the TASSEL MLM model. A genetic structure analysis differentiated S.mukorossi and S. delavayi. Eighteen ISSR loci associated with 13 fruit traits(P<0.005) were identified, with 13, 1,and 4 loci associated with seed oil production, fruit saponin production, and fruit quality, respectively. Using this information, a core collection was selected with adequate genetic diversity and good seed oil characters. Our results demonstrate the feasibility of effectively estimating fruit trait associations in Sapindus using ISSR markers, and the method is applicable and valuable for select germplasm conservation. The markers obtained in this study are potentially useful for molecular-assisted breeding of Sapindus spp.Caowen Sun Liming Jia Benye Xi Jiming Liu Lianchun Wang Xuehuang Weng 2019Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,1:2
Bubble coalescence efficiency near multi-orifice plate显示文摘Bubble coalescence reduces specific area and weakens the work performance of bubble column. The bubble coalescence near gas sparger which is caused mainly by bubble growing is different from the ones occurring in major liquid. Bubble coalescence efficiency near gas sparger is influenced by many factors including sparger configuration, gas flow rate, bubble deformation, solution composition, etc. This work has conducted a set of visual experiments to study the coalescence characteristics near multi-orifice plate. The experiment parameters cover a wide range of conditions including large scope of gas flow rate, different kinds of solution and orifice configurations. The experimental results suggest that coalescence time is applicable to reflect the influence of the pitch of orifices and gas flow rate on bubble coalescence efficiency. As the number of orifices increases, bubble coalescence efficiency is reduced by the disturbance from the bubbles at adjacent orifices. A hindering coefficient is used to consider the hindering effect of additives on bubble coalescence efficiency. Finally a new calculation expression is established to predict bubble coalescence efficiency near multi-orifice plate whose fundamental form is based on the logistic curve of binary response. The calculated values that refer to this calculation expression are well consistent with the experimental results.Jiming Wen Qiunan Sun Zhongning Sun Haifeng Gu 2019Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2019,27,8:2
Numerical analysis of the effects of downhole dynamic conditions on formation testing while drilling显示文摘Formation testing while drilling is an innovative technique that is replacing conventional pressure testing in which the fluid sampling is conducted in a relatively short time following the drilling. At this time, mud invasion has just started, mudcake has not formed entirely and the formation pressure is not stable. Therefore, it is important to study the influence of the downhole dynamic environment on pressure testing and fluid sampling. This paper applies an oil-water two phase finite element model to study the influence of mudcake quality and mud filtrate invasion on supercharge pressure, pretest and sampling in the reservoirs of different permeability. However, the study is only for the cases with water based mud in the wellbore. The results illustrate that the mudcake quality has a significant influence on the supercharge pressure and fluid sampling, while the level of mud filtrate invasion has a strong impact on pressure testing and sampling. In addition, in-situ formation pressure testing is more difficult in low permeability reservoirs as the mud filtrate invasion is deeper and therefore degrades the quality of fluid sampling. Finally, a field example from an oil field on the Alaskan North Slope is presented to validate the numerical studies of the effects of downhole dynamic conditions on formation testing while drilling.DI Dejia TAO Guo WANG Bing CHEN Xu SUN Jiming 2014Petroleum Science2014,11,3:2

The weeping characteristic of submerged multi-orifice plate显示文摘Weeping is an adverse phenomenon which results in higher pressure drop and poorer aeration performance.Visual experiments have been conducted to study the mechanism by which weeping impairs the work performance of multi-orifice plate.A theoretical model is improved to analyze the weeping phenomenon of multiorifice plate based on potential flow theory. The relations of different bubbling conditions and weeping rate are analyzed.Weeping condition and average weeping rate have relation with the driven pressure differential and dynamic variation of gas chamber pressure. In addition,a set of experiments are designed to study the influence of various factors on weeping rate. The bubble coalescence during bubble formation is a fatal factor determining weeping rate,so the relation between weeping rate and gas flow rate is concerned with the pitch of orifices and orifice diameter. There is a critical plate thickness which is in favor of weeping.Jiming Wen Ruifeng Tian Sichao Tan Qiunan Sun Haifeng Gu 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,4:1

Probing the pH-dependent chain dynamics of poly(acrylate acid) in concentrated solution by using a cationic AIE fluorophore显示文摘We report a novel strategy to study the chain dynamics of poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) in a relative concentrated solution (1.0 g/L). The strategy is based on the fluorescent probe (DCTPE) with unique aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristics. Free DCTPE molecules are non-emissive in aqueous solution, but they become highly emissive when trapped in polymer coils. The fluorescence intensity is proportional to the efficiency of trapping DCTPE molecules in polymer coils. By correlation the change of fluorescence intensity with the variation of pH value (from 1.78 to 12.06), the PAA chain's dynamics in the relatively concentrated solution have been elucidated into three processes. In the pH range from 12.06 to 6.0, PAA chains take an extended and non-folding conformation. Changing pH from 6.0 to 3.86, PAA chains are partially protonated and loosely packed polymer coils are formed. Further lowering the pH value of the solution (from 3.86 to 1.78), protonated segments dominate the PAA chains, and at the same time, the intermolecular hydrogen bonding takes effect, thus the polymer chains posses in the conformation of more compact coils.ZHANG Shuang YAN JiMing QIN AnJun SUN JingZhi TANG Ben Zhong 2013Science China Chemistry2013,56,9:1
