1Mg-Zn-Y-Nd coated with citric acid and dopamine by layer-by-layer self-assembly to improve surface biocompatibility显示文摘Magnesium alloy has been generally accepted as an important biodegradable material on cardiovascular stent development for a long time. However, its limited biocompatibility, especially delayed endothelialization process restricts its further application. In this contribution, we modified the Mg-Zn-Y-Nd alloy surface with citric acid and dopamine via a layer-by-layer self-assembly assay, aiming at improving the biocompatibility of the magnesium alloy. The citric acid/dopamine(CA/PDA) layer exhibited a remarkable suppression of platelet activation/aggregation and thrombosis under 15 dyn/cm2 blood flowing. Inhibition on vascular smooth muscle cells growth and macrophages attachment/activation were also observed on this layer. In particular, the CA/PDA layer presented a promoted property for the vascular endothelial cells growth and spreading compared with the bare magnesium alloy, suggesting the pro-endotelialized function. 2Paleotemperature variations at Lake Caohai, southwestern China, during the past 500 years:Evidence from combined δ^(18)O analysis of cellulose and carbonates显示文摘The oxygen isotopic values of aquatic plant cellulose and carbonates in Lake Caohai sediments were measured using a continuous flow isotopic ratio mass spectrometer(CF-IRMS).Because of predictable oxygen isotopic fractionation between cellulose and its source water,the oxygen isotopic composition of paleo-lake water has been established quantitatively.Combined oxygen isotopic values of cellulose and carbonates were used in the‘Craig’equation to determine paleotemperatures and their variation in the lake during the past 500 years.Results show that the paleotemperature trend correlates well with meteorological records from Weining.There are four notable cold intervals at Lake Caohai over the past 500 years,namely 1540–1570AD,1670–1715AD,1780–1870AD and 1900–1930AD,and the former three cold intervals have been observed in the conventional Little Ice Age(LIA).These cold periods at Lake Caohai correspond well with those recorded from tree ring,peat,and ice core data from adjacent regions,particularly temperature those inferred fromδ18O of peat cellulose from Hongyuan Southwestern China.The trend in paleotemperature variations at Lake Caohai are also consistent with both the change of Indian summer monsoon,derived fromδ18O values of a stalagmite in Dongge,and a recorded shift in solar activity.The findings of this study illustrate that coupled analysis ofδ18O values of cellulose and carbonates from lake sediments may be used as a paleotemperature proxy.These results also provide further evidence of the existence of LIA in southwestern China.ZHU ZhengJie CHEN JingAn ZENG Yan 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,6:4
3Co_9S_8 nanowires@NiCo LDH nanosheets arrays on nickel foams towards efficient overall water splitting显示文摘Water electrolysis is considered to be an effective way to fabricate hydrogen, and it is desirable to find the highly efficient, inexpensive and good durability bifunctional electrocatalysts for overall water splitting.In this paper, we synthesis a unique structured catalyst that was composed by Co_9S_8 nanowires and nickel cobalt layered double hydroxide(NiCo-LDH) nanosheets. The ultrathin nanosheets decorated on the Co_9S_8 nanoarrays offer large specific surface area, numerous active edge sites and excellent electrical conductivity for fast electron transfer. Benefiting from this heterogeneous structure, the catalyst presents excellent catalytic performance in alkaline media. It requires 168 mV to reach current density of 10 mA/cm^2 for HER and 278 m V to reach current density of 30 mA/cm^2 for OER. When used as electrode in a homemade two-electrode system, it only needs t a voltage of 1.63 V to achieve current densities of 10 mA/cm^2, which proves Co_9S_8@NiCo LDH/NF as a superior bifunctional catalyst for water splitting.Jingan Yan Ligang Chen Xin Liang 2019Science Bulletin2019,64,3:3

5The oxygen isotopic composition of phosphate as an effective tracer for phosphate sources in Hongfeng Lake显示文摘In order to characterize the oxygen isotopic composition of internal phosphate and explore the possibility of using these data to identify phosphate sources, we measured oxygen isotopic compositions of phosphate(δ^(18)O_p) in sediment pore water in Hongfeng Lake, a typical deep-water lake in a mountainous area. These data, in combination with δ^(18)O_p in surface water samples and water column samples, were successfully used to identify phosphate sources. The δ^(18)O_p value of sediment pore water ranged from 15.2% to 15.8%, with an average value of 15.5%—the δ^(18)O_p value of internal phosphate. The δ^(18)O_p values decreased gradually through the water column from 19.4% in surface water to 16.4% in deeper water, implying that internal phosphate had more negative δ^(18)O_p values than external phosphate. This finding was substantiated by horizontal variations in δ^(18)O_p values, which decreased with increasing distance from inflowing rivers. All collected evidence suggests that external and internal phosphate have distinctly different isotopic signatures and that these signatures have not been considerably altered by biological mediation in Hongfeng Lake. Therefore, δ^(18)O_p can be used to distinguish phosphate sources. A two-endmember mixing model showed that internal phosphate had an average contribution of 40%, highlighting the influence of internal phosphorus loading on aqueous phosphate and eutrophication. This study illustrates the need to reduce the internal phosphorus load from sediment and provides guidance for nutrient management and in-lake restoration treatment in Hongfeng Lake. The data presented here are limited, but serve to highlight the great potential of δ^(18)O_p as an effective tracer for identifying phosphate sources. 10Preparation of functional coating on magnesium alloy with hydrophilic polymers and bioactive peptides for improved corrosion resistance and biocompatibility显示文摘Biodegradable magnesium alloy stents(MAS)have great potential in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.However,too fast degradation and the poor biocompatibility are still two key problems for the clinical utility of MAS.In the present work,a functional coating composed of hydrophilic polymers and bioactive peptides was constructed on magnesium alloy to improve its corrosion resistance and biocompatibility in vitro and in vivo.Mg-Zn-Y-Nd(ZE21B)alloy modified with the functional coating exhibited moderate surface hydrophilicity and enhanced corrosion resistance.The favourable hemocompatibility of ZE21B alloy with the functional coating was confirmed by the in vitro blood experiments.Moreover,the modified ZE21B alloy could selectively promote the adhesion,proliferation,and migration of endothelial cells(ECs),but suppress these behaviors of smooth muscle cells(SMCs).Furthermore,the modified ZE21B alloy wires could alleviate intimal hyperplasia,enhance corrosion resistance and re-endothelialization in vivo transplantation experiment.These results collectively demonstrated that the functional coating improved the corrosion resistance and biocompatibility of ZE21B alloy.This functional coating provides new insight into the design and development of novel biodegradable stents for biomedical engineering.Lingchuang Bai Yahui Wang Lan Chen Jun Wang Jingan Li Shijie Zhu Liguo Wang Shaokang Guan 2022Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,7:1
11Ab Initio Study on the Isomerization and Dehydrogenation of Methylnitrene显示文摘The ab initio calculations were performed at the RHF/4-31G level with the reaction pathways of the iso-merization and dehydrogenation of methylnitrene by the intrinsic reaction coordinate method. The results show that the transformation from methylnitrene to methylenimine would be very easy. This accountes for the experimental fact that one couldn’ t find the methylnitrene, but only obtained the methylenimine in the pyrolysis of methyl azide. The mode-selective study reveals the reaction coordinates (IRC) of isomerization and dehydrogenation of methylnitrene are associated with the molecular deformation mode of 1191 cm-1 and the methyl group unsymmetrical stretch mode, respectively.
