1Investigation of Mg–Zn–Y–Nd alloy for potential application of biodegradable esophageal stent material显示文摘In recent years,due to unhealthy dietary habits and other reasons,advanced esophageal cancer patients are on the rise,threatening human health and life safety at all times.Stents implantation as an important complementary or alternative method for chemotherapy has been widely applied in clinics.However,the adhesion and proliferation of pathological cells,such as tumor cells,fibroblasts and epithelial cells,may interfere the efficacy of stents.Further multiple implantation due to restenosis may also bring pain to patients.In this contribution,we preferred a biodegradable material Mg–Zn–Y–Nd alloy for potential application of esophageal stent.The hardness testing showed that Mg–Zn–Y–Nd alloy owned less mechanical properties compared with the commercial esophageal stents material,317L stainless steel(317L SS),while Mg–Zn–Y–Nd displayed significantly better biodegradation than 317L SS.Cell apoptosis assay indicated Mg–Zn–Y–Nd inhibited adhesion and proliferation of tumor cells,fibroblasts and epithelial cells.Our research suggested potential application of Mg–Zn–Y–Nd alloy as a novel material for biodegradable esophageal stent.Shuo Wang Xueqi Zhang Jingan Li Changsheng Liu Shaokang Guan 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,1:7
2Mg-Zn-Y-Nd coated with citric acid and dopamine by layer-by-layer self-assembly to improve surface biocompatibility显示文摘Magnesium alloy has been generally accepted as an important biodegradable material on cardiovascular stent development for a long time. However, its limited biocompatibility, especially delayed endothelialization process restricts its further application. In this contribution, we modified the Mg-Zn-Y-Nd alloy surface with citric acid and dopamine via a layer-by-layer self-assembly assay, aiming at improving the biocompatibility of the magnesium alloy. The citric acid/dopamine(CA/PDA) layer exhibited a remarkable suppression of platelet activation/aggregation and thrombosis under 15 dyn/cm2 blood flowing. Inhibition on vascular smooth muscle cells growth and macrophages attachment/activation were also observed on this layer. In particular, the CA/PDA layer presented a promoted property for the vascular endothelial cells growth and spreading compared with the bare magnesium alloy, suggesting the pro-endotelialized function. 5Joint estimation of PM_(2.5) and O_(3) over China using a knowledge-informed neural network显示文摘China has currently entered a critical stage of coordinated control of fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5))and ozone(O_(3)),it is thus of tremendous value to accurately acquire high-resolution PM_(2.5) and O_(3) data.In contrast to traditional studies that usually separately estimate PM_(2.5) and O_(3),this study proposes a knowledge-informed neural network model for their joint estimation,in which satellite observations,reanalysis data,and ground station measurements are used.The neural network architecture is designed with the shared and specific inputs,the PM_(2.5)-O_(3) interaction module,and the weighted loss function,which introduce the prior knowledge of PM_(2.5) and O_(3) into neural network modeling.Cross-validation(CV)results indicate that the inclusion of prior knowledge can improve the estimation accuracy,with R^(2) increasing from 0.872 to 0.911 and from 0.906 to 0.937 for PM_(2.5) and O_(3) estimation under samplebased CV,respectively.In addition,the proposed joint estimation model achieves comparable performance with the separate estimation model,but with higher efficiency.Mapping results of PM_(2.5) and O_(3) derived by the proposed model have demonstrated interesting findings in the spatial and temporal trends and variations over China.Tongwen Li Qianqian Yang Yuan Wang Jingan Wu 2023Geoscience Frontiers2023,14,2:1
6Recent advances in cardiovascular stent for treatment of in-stent restenosis:Mechanisms and strategies显示文摘Treatments of atherogenesis,one of the most common cardiovascular diseases(CVD),are continuously being made thanks to innovation and an increasingly in-depth knowledge of percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty(PTCA),the most revolutionary medical procedure used for vascular restoration.Combined with an expanding balloon,vascular stents used at stricture sites enable the long-time restoration of vascular permeability.However,complication after stenting,in-stent restenosis(ISR),hinders the advancement of vascular stents and are associated with high medical costs for patients for decades years.Thus,the development of a high biocompatibility stent with improved safety and efficiency is urgently needed.This review provides an overview of current advances and potential technologies for the modification of stents for better treatment and prevention of ISR.In particular,the mechanisms of in-stent restenosis are investigated and summarized with the aim to comprehensively understanding the pathogenesis of stent complications.Then,according to different therapeutic functions,the current stent modification strategies are reviewed,including polymeric drug eluting stents,biological friendly stents,prohealing stents,and gene stents.Finally,the review provides an outlook of the challenges in the design of stents with optimal properties.Therefore,this review is a valuable and practical guideline for the development of cardiovascular stents.Hang Yao Yuwei He Jinrong Ma Lang Jiang Jingan Li Jin Wang Nan Huang 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,9:1

15Preparation of functional coating on magnesium alloy with hydrophilic polymers and bioactive peptides for improved corrosion resistance and biocompatibility显示文摘Biodegradable magnesium alloy stents(MAS)have great potential in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.However,too fast degradation and the poor biocompatibility are still two key problems for the clinical utility of MAS.In the present work,a functional coating composed of hydrophilic polymers and bioactive peptides was constructed on magnesium alloy to improve its corrosion resistance and biocompatibility in vitro and in vivo.Mg-Zn-Y-Nd(ZE21B)alloy modified with the functional coating exhibited moderate surface hydrophilicity and enhanced corrosion resistance.The favourable hemocompatibility of ZE21B alloy with the functional coating was confirmed by the in vitro blood experiments.Moreover,the modified ZE21B alloy could selectively promote the adhesion,proliferation,and migration of endothelial cells(ECs),but suppress these behaviors of smooth muscle cells(SMCs).Furthermore,the modified ZE21B alloy wires could alleviate intimal hyperplasia,enhance corrosion resistance and re-endothelialization in vivo transplantation experiment.These results collectively demonstrated that the functional coating improved the corrosion resistance and biocompatibility of ZE21B alloy.This functional coating provides new insight into the design and development of novel biodegradable stents for biomedical engineering.Lingchuang Bai Yahui Wang Lan Chen Jun Wang Jingan Li Shijie Zhu Liguo Wang Shaokang Guan 2022Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,7:1
16Influence of the Blade Bifurcated Tip on the Correlation between Wind Turbine Wheel Vibration and Aerodynamic Noise显示文摘To reduce the vibration and aerodynamic noise of wind turbines,a new design is proposed relying on a blade with a bifurcated apex or tip.The performances of this wind turbine wheel are tested at the entrance of a DC(direct-action)wind tunnel for different blade tip angles and varying centrifugal force and aerodynamic loads.The test results indicate that the bifurcated apex can reduce the vibration acceleration amplitude and the vibration fre-quency of the wind wheel.At the same time,the bifurcated apex can lower the maximum sound pressure level corresponding to the rotating fundamental frequency of the wind wheel.According to all thesefindings,the tip angle of the bifurcated apex is the main factor enhancing the effect of the modification.Baohua Li Yuanjun Dai Jingan Cui Cong Wang Kunju Shi 2023Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,12:0
17Influence of Flap Parameters on the Aerodynamic Performance of a Wind-Turbine Airfoil显示文摘A numerical method has been used to analyze the flow field related to a NACA 0015 airfoil with and without a flap and assess the influence of the flap height and angle on the surface pressure coefficient,lift coefficient,and drag coefficient.The numerical results demonstrate that the flap can effectively improve the lift coefficient of the airfoil;however,at small attack angles,its influence is significantly reduced.When the angle of attack exceeds the critical stall angle and the flap height is 1.5%of the chord length,the influence of the flap becomes very evident.As the flap height increases,the starting point of the separation vortex gradually moves forward and generates a larger wake vortex.Optimal aerodynamic characteristics are obtained for 1.5%(of the chord length)flap height and a 45°flap angle;in this case,the separation vortex is effectively reduced.Yuanjun Dai Jingan Cui Baohua Li Cong Wang Kunju Shi 2024Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2024,20,4:0
18Micro-patterned hydroxyapatite/silk fibroin coatings on Mg-Zn-Y-Nd-Zr alloys for better corrosion resistance and cell behavior guidance显示文摘In this study,a micro-patterned hydroxyapatite/silk fibroin(HA-SF)coating was firstly fabricated on the surface of Mg-Zn-Y-Nd-Zr alloy by template-assisted electrospraying technique coupling with spin coating technique.Two types of micro-patterns were achieved with high contour accuracy,namely HA SF(line-pattern)and HA-SF(dot-pattern).The microstructure,composition,surface wettability and corrosion behaviors of the coatings were investigated by SEM,EDS,FTIR,XRD,water contact angle and potentiodynamic polarization test.The results revealed the hydrophilic nature of coatings and two orders of magnitude reduction of corrosion density(icorr)as compared with that of the substrate.All the micro-patterned surfaces promoted the attachment of MC3T3-E1 cells with visible filopodia after 1 d incubation.In addition,coatings with line pattern exhibited the superior guidance to cell migration as compared to dot pattern,and the preference of cell attachment in the convex zone was observed.In summary,the obtained micro-patterned HA-SF coatings possessed the remarkably improvement of anticorrosion ability and good efficacy in guidance of cell attachment and alignment,which can serve as a promising strategy for cellular response modulation at the interface of magnesium-based implants and bone.Lei CHANG Xiangrui LI Xuhui TANG He ZHANG Ding HE Yujun WANG Jiayin ZHAO Jingan LI Jun WANG Shijie ZHU Liguo WANG Shaokang GUAN 2020Frontiers of Materials Science2020,14,4:0
