| 1 | Microstructure and mechanical property of a high-strength Mg-10Gd-6Y-1.5Zn-0.5Zr alloy prepared by multi-pass equal channel angular pressing显示文摘In this work,a high-strength Mg–10Gd–6Y–1.5Zn–0.5Zr(wt.%)alloy was fabricated by successive multi-pass equal channel angular pressing(ECAP).The microstructure and mechanical property of as-cast and ECAP alloys were systematically researched by X-ray diffractometer,scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy and compression test.The results show that the microstructure of as-cast alloy consists ofα-Mg grains,Mg24Y5 networks,18R blocks,fine 14H lamellas,and fewY-rich particles.After 8 passes ECAP,dynamic recrystallization ofα-Mg is developed and their average grain size decreases to about 1μm.The network Mg_(24)Y_(5) phase at grain boundaries is broken into small particles with average diameter lower than 0.5μm.Moreover,18R blocks are kinked and delaminated,or broken into small particles and blended with Mg24Y5 particles.14H lamellas grow gradually or are dynamically precipitated within certainα-Mg grains.Compression tests indicate that 8p ECAP alloy exhibits excellent mechanical property with compressive strength of 537 MPa and fracture strain of 17.0%.The significant improvement for both strength and ductility of deformed alloy could be ascribed to DRX grains,refined Mg24Y5 particles,18R kinking and dynamical precipitation of 14H. | Huan Liu He Huang Xiaowei Yang Cheng Li Jingli Yan Jinghua Jiang Aibin Ma | 2017 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2017,5,2: | 10 |
| 2 | Study on the Estimation of Groundwater Withdrawals Based on Groundwater Flow Modeling and Its Application in the North China Plain显示文摘The amount of water withdrawn by wells is one of the quantitative variables that can be applied to estimate groundwater resources and further evaluate the human influence on groundwater systems. The accuracy for the calculation of the amount of water withdrawal significantly influences the regional groundwater resource evaluation and management. However, the decentralized groundwater pumping, inefficient management, measurement errors and uncertainties have resulted in considerable errors in the groundwater withdrawal estimation. In this study, to improve the estimation of the groundwater withdrawal, an innovative approach was proposed using an inversion method based on a regional groundwater flow numerical model, and this method was then applied in the North China Plain. The principle of the method was matching the simulated water levels with the observation ones by adjusting the amount of groundwater withdrawal. In addition, uncertainty analysis of hydraulic conductivity and specific yield for the estimation of the groundwater withdrawal was conducted. By using the proposed inversion method, the estimated annual average groundwater withdrawal was approximately 24.92×109 m3 in the North China Plain from 2002 to 2008. The inversion method also significantly improved the simulation results for both hydrograph and the flow field. | 4 | Effect of Multi-Pass Equal Channel Angular Pressing on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of a Heterogeneous Mg_(88)Y_8Zn_4 Alloy显示文摘The microstructure evolutions and mechanical properties of a heterogeneous Mg88Y8Zn4(in at.%) alloy during multi-pass equal channel angular pressing(ECAP) were systematically investigated in this work.The results show that four phases,i.e.α-Mg,18 R long period stacking ordered(LPSO) phase,Mg24Y5 and Y-rich phase,are present in cast alloy.During ECAP,dynamic recrystallization(DRX) occurs and the diameter of DRXedα-Mg grains decreases to 0.8 μm.Moreover,precipitation of lamellar 14 H LPSO structure is developed withinα-Mg phase.Both the refinement of α-Mg grains and precipitation of 14 H LPSO contribute to the increase in micro-hardness from 98 HV to 135 HV for α-Mg.In addition,a simplified model describing the evolution of 18 R LPSO phase is established,which illustrates that 18 R undergoes a four-step morphological evolution with increasing strains during ECAP,i.e.original lath → bent lath → cracked lath → smaller particles.Compression test results indicate that the alloy has been markedly strengthened after multi-pass ECAP,and the main reason for the significantly enhanced mechanical properties could be ascribed to the DRXed α-Mg grains,newly precipitated 14 H lamellas,18 R kinking and refined 18 R particles. | Huan Liu Zhaojun Cheng Kai Yan Jingli Yan Jing Bai Jinghua Jiang Aibin Ma | 2016 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2016,32,12: | 4 |

| 10 | Parallel Simulation of Groundwater Flow in the North China Plain显示文摘Numerical modeling is of crucial importance in understanding the behavior of regional groundwater system. However, the demand on modeling capability is intensive when performing high-resolution simulation over long time span. This paper presents the application of a parallel program to speed up the detailed modeling of the groundwater flow system in the North China Plain. The parallel program is implemented by rebuilding the well-known MODFLOW program on our parallelcomputing framework, which is achieved by designing patch-based parallel data structures and algorithms but maintaining the compute flow and functionalities of MODFLOW. The detailed model with more than one million grids and a decade of time has been solved. The parallel simulation results were examined against the field observed data and these two data are generally in good agreement. For the comparison on solution time, the parallel program running on 32 cores is 6 times faster than the fastest MICCG-based MODFLOW program and 11 times faster than the GMG-based MODFLOW program. | 16 | Sex-specific and dose-response relationships of urinary cobalt and molybdenum levels with glucose levels and insulin resistance in U.S. adults显示文摘Growing studies have linked metal exposure to diabetes risk.However,these studies had inconsistent results.We used a multiple linear regression model to investigate the sexspecific and dose-response associations between urinary metals(cobalt(Co)and molybdenum(Mo))and diabetes-related indicators(fasting plasma glucose(FPG),hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c),homeostasis model assessment for insulin resistance(HOMA-IR),and insulin)in a cross-sectional study based on the United States National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.The urinary metal concentrations of 1423 eligible individuals were stratified on the basis of the quartile distribution.Our results showed that the urinary Co level in males at the fourth quartile(Q4)was strongly correlated with increased FPG(β=0.61,95%CI:0.17–1.04),HbA1c(β=0.31,95%CI:0.09–0.54),insulin(β=8.18,95%CI:2.84–13.52),and HOMA–IR(β=3.42,95%CI:1.40–5.44)when compared with first quartile(Q1).High urinary Mo levels(Q4 vs.Q1)were associated with elevated FPG(β=0.46,95%CI:0.17–0.75)and HbA1c(β=0.27,95%CI:0.11–0.42)in the overall population.Positive linear dose-response associations were observed between urinary Co and insulin(Pnonlinear=0.513)and HOMA–IR(Pnonlinear=0.736)in males,as well as a positive linear dose-response relationship between urinary Mo and FPG(Pnonlinear=0.826)and HbA1c(Pnonlinear=0.376)in the overall population.Significant sex-specific and dose-response relationships were observed between urinary metals(Co and Mo)and diabetes-related indicators,and the potential mechanisms should be further investigated. | Jingli Yang Yongbin Lu Yana Bai Zhiyuan Cheng | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,2: | 1 |
