1A soil moisture assimilation scheme based on the ensemble Kalman filter using microwave brightness temperature显示文摘This study presents a soil moisture assimilation scheme, which could assimilate microwave brightness temperature directly, based on the ensemble Kalman filter and the shuffled complex evolution method (SCE-UA). It uses the soil water model of the land surface model CLM3.0 as the forecast operator, and a radiative transfer model (RTM) as the observation operator in the assimilation system. The assimilation scheme is implemented in two phases: the parameter calibration phase and the pure soil moisture assimilation phase. The vegetation optical thickness and surface roughness parameters in the RTM are calibrated by SCE-UA method and the optimal parameters are used as the final model parameters of the observation operator in the assimilation phase. The ideal experiments with synthetic data indicate that this scheme could significantly improve the simulation of soil moisture at the surface layer. Further- more, the estimation of soil moisture in the deeper layers could also be improved to a certain extent. The real assimilation experiments with AMSR-E brightness temperature at 10.65 GHz (vertical polariza- tion) show that the root mean square error (RMSE) of soil moisture in the top layer (0―10 cm) by as- similation is 0.03355 m3·m-3, which is reduced by 33.6% compared with that by simulation (0.05052 m3·m-3). The mean RMSE by assimilation for the deeper layers (10―50 cm) is also reduced by 20.9%. 2Effect of discrete fibre reinforcement on soil tensile strength显示文摘The tensile behaviour of soil plays a significantly important role in various engineering applications.Compacted soils used in geotechnical constructions such as dams and clayey liners in waste containment facilities can suffer from cracking due to tensile failure.In order to increase soil tensile strength,discrete fibre reinforcement technique was proposed.An innovative tensile apparatus was developed to determine the tensile strength characteristics of fibre reinforced soil.The effects of fibre content,dry density and water content on the tensile strength were studied.The results indicate that the developed test apparatus was applicable in determining tensile strength of soils.Fibre inclusion can significantly increase soil tensile strength and soil tensile failure ductility.The tensile strength basically increases with increasing fibre content.As the fibre content increases from 0%to 0.2%,the tensile strength increases by65.7%.The tensile strength of fibre reinforced soil increases with increasing dry density and decreases with decreasing water content.For instance,the tensile strength at a dry density of 1.7 Mg/m^3 is 2.8times higher than that at 1.4 Mg/m^3.It decreases by 30%as the water content increases from 14.5%to20.5%.Furthermore,it is observed that the tensile strength of fibre reinforced soil is dominated by fibre pull-out resistance,depending on the interfacial mechanical interaction between fibre surface and soil matrix.Jian Li Chaosheng Tang Deying Wang Xiangjun Pei Bin Shi 2014Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2014,6,2:8
3Research on Large Volume Airgun Source Signal Reception in Hutubi, Xinjiang Using Seismic Network Data显示文摘We used data from the Xinjiang Digital Seismic Network and PSD( Power Spectral Density) method to perform noise level assessment for six stations. We calculated the median of the power spectral density to evaluate the noise level of different stations. After the comparison of the power spectral density of different stations and the airgun signal recognition,we found that noise level of stations with recognizable airgun source signals is lower than that of stations without recognizable signals. The largest difference of the power spectral density is 40 d B,and the smallest is 15 d B. 6Machine learning-based estimates of aboveground biomass of subalpine forests using Landsat 8 OLI and Sentinel-2B images in the Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve,Eastern Tibet Plateau显示文摘Accurate estimates of forest aboveground biomass(AGB)are critical for supporting strategies of ecosystem conservation and climate change mitigation.The Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve,located in Eastern Tibet Plateau,has rich forest resources on steep slopes and is very sensitive to climate change but plays an important role in the regulation of regional carbon cycles.However,an estimation of AGB of subalpine forests in the Nature Reserve has not been carried out and whether a global biomass model is available has not been determined.To provide this information,Landsat 8 OLI and Sentinel-2B data were combined to estimate subalpine forest AGB using linear regression,and two machine learning approaches–random forest and extreme gradient boosting,with 54 inventory plots.Regardless of forest type,Observed AGB of the Reserve varied from 61.7 to 475.1 Mg hawith an average of 180.6 Mg ha.Results indicate that integrating the Landsat 8 OLI and Sentinel-2B imagery significantly improved model efficiency regardless of modelling approaches.The results highlight a potential way to improve the prediction of forest AGB in mountainous regions.Modelled AGB indicated a strong spatial variability.However,the modelled biomass varied greatly with global biomass products,indicating that global biomass products should be evaluated in regional AGB estimates and more field observations are required,particularly for areas with complex terrain to improve model accuracy.Ke Luo Yufeng Wei Jie Du Liang Liu Xinrui Luo Yuehong Shi Xiangjun Pei Ningfei Lei Ci Song Jingji Li Xiaolu Tang 2022Journal of Forestry Research2022,33,4:2

13Logging prediction and evaluation of fracture toughness for the shales in the Longmaxi Formation, Southern Sichuan Basin显示文摘The mode-I fracture toughness is of great significance for evaluating the fracturing ability of shale reservoirs.In this study,the mode-I fracture toughness of the shale in the Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation,Southern Sichuan Basin was determined with the Cracked Chevron Notched Brazilian Disc(CCNBD).Based on the experimental data,the relationships among the mode-I fracture toughness,the density,the acoustic time and the clay mineral content were analyzed.The shale samples for fracture toughness test from cores were commonly limited,the investigation of fracture toughness using well logs was necessary.Therefore,a prediction model was proposed by correlating the fracture toughness with well logs responses.The results indicate that the fracture toughness of shale samples is from 0.4744 MPa$m1/2 to 1.0607 MPa$m1/2 with an average of 0.7817 MPa$m1/2,indicating that the anisotropy of fracture toughness of the Longmaxi Formation shale.The clay mineral content and the density have a positive effect on the fracture toughness,whereas the acoustic time plays a negative role on the fracture toughness.The clay mineral content has an important effect on the relationships among fracture toughness,acoustic time and density.The prediction model can provide continuous data of mode-I fracture toughness along the wellbore for field hydraulic fracturing operation,and it has certain guiding significance in the exploration and development of oil and gas reservoirs.Jian Xiong Kaiyuan Liu Changyou Shi Xiangjun Liu Linlin Huang 2021Petroleum2021,7,3:1
14QuaPra: Efficient transcript assembly and quantification using quadratic programming with Apriori algorithm显示文摘RNA sequencing(RNA-seq) has greatly facilitated the exploring of transcriptome landscape for diverse organisms.However,transcriptome reconstruction is still challenging due to various limitations of current tools and sequencing technologies.Here,we introduce an efficient tool,QuaPra(Quadratic Programming combined with Apriori),for accurate transcriptome assembly and quantification.QuaPra could detect at least 26.5% more low abundance(0.1–1 FPKM) transcripts with over 2.7% increase of sensitivity and precision on simulated data compared to other currently popular tools.Moreover,around one-quarter more known transcripts were correctly assembled by QuaPra than other assemblers on real sequencing data.QuaPra is freely available at http://gffzz964817d90372402ahcpukbf6nww0o6ubx.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/QuaPra/.Xiangjun Ji Weida Tong Baitang Ning Christopher E. 16Interplay of transcription factors and microRNAs during embryonic hematopoiesis显示文摘Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), which are localized in the bone marrow of adult mammals, come from hematopoietic endothelium during embryonic stages. Although the basic processes of HSC generation and differentiation have been described in the past, the epigenetic regulation of embryonic hematopoiesis remains to be fully described. Here, by utilizing an in vitro differentiation system of mouse embryonic stem cells (ESCs), we identified more than 20 microRNAs that were highly enriched in embryonic hematopoietic cells, including some (e.g. miR-10b, miR-15b, and miR-27a) with previously unknown functions in blood formation. Luciferase and gene expression assays further revealed combinational binding and regulation of these microRNAs by key transcription factors in blood cells. 17Sensitivity Study of Anthropogenic Aerosol Indirect Forcing through Cirrus Clouds with CAM5 Using Three Ice Nucleation Parameterizations显示文摘Quantifying the radiative forcing due to aerosol–cloud interactions especially through cirrus clouds remains challenging because of our limited understanding of aerosol and cloud processes. In this study, we investigate the anthropogenic aerosol indirect forcing(AIF) through cirrus clouds using the Community Atmosphere Model version 5(CAM5) with a state-of-the-art treatment of ice nucleation. We adopt a new approach to isolate anthropogenic AIF through cirrus clouds in which ice nucleation parameterization is driven by prescribed pre-industrial(PI) and presentday(PD) aerosols, respectively. Sensitivities of anthropogenic ice AIF(i.e., anthropogenic AIF through cirrus clouds)to different ice nucleation parameterizations, homogeneous freezing occurrence, and uncertainties in the cloud microphysics scheme are investigated. Results of sensitivity experiments show that the change(PD minus PI) in global annual mean longwave cloud forcing(i.e., longwave anthropogenic ice AIF) ranges from 0.14 to 0.35 W m^(–2), the change in global annual mean shortwave cloud forcing(i.e., shortwave anthropogenic ice AIF) from –0.47 to –0.20 W m^(–2), and the change in net cloud forcing from –0.12 to 0.05 W m^(–2). Our results suggest that different ice nucleation parameterizations are an important factor for the large uncertainty of anthropogenic ice AIF. 18Quantum light source devices of In(Ga)As semiconductor self-assembled quantum dots显示文摘A brief introduction of semiconductor self-assembled quantum dots (QDs) applied in single-photon sources is given. Single QDs in confined quantum optical microcavity systems are reviewed along with their optical properties and coupling characteristics. Subsequently, the recent progresses in In(Ga)As QDs systems are summarized including the preparation of quantum light sources, multiple methods for embedding single QDs into different microcavities and the scalability of single-photon emitting wavelength. Particularly, several In(Ga)As QD single-photon devices are surveyed including In(Ga)As QDs coupling with nanowires, InAs QDs coupling with distributed Bragg reflection microcavity and the In(Ga)As QDs coupling with micropillar microcavities. 20Biomarkers for neuromyelitis optica:a visual analysis of emerging research trends显示文摘Neuromyelitis optica is an inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system that differs from multiple sclerosis.Over the past 20 years,the search for biomarke rs for neuromyelitis optica has been ongoing.Here,we used a bibliometric approach to analyze the main research focus in the field of biomarkers for neuromyelitis optica.Research in this area is consistently increasing,with China and the United States leading the way on the number of studies conducted.The Mayo Clinic is a highly reputable institution in the United States,and was identified as the most authoritative institution in this field.Furthermore,Professor Wingerchuk from the Mayo Clinic was the most authoritative expe rt in this field.Keyword analysis revealed that the terms 'neuro myelitis optica'(261 times), 'multiple sclerosis'(220 times), 'neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder'(132 times), 'aquaporin4'(99 times),and 'optical neuritis'(87 times) were the most frequently used keywords in literature related to this field.Comprehensive analysis of the classical literature showed that the majority of publications provide conclusive research evidence supporting the use of aquaporin-4-IgG and neuromyelitis optica-IgG to effectively diagnose and differentiate neuromyelitis optica from multiple sclerosis.Furthermore,aquaporin-4-IgG has emerged as a highly specific diagnostic biomarker for neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder.Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein-IgG is a diagnostic biomarke r for myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease.Recent biomarkers for neuromyelitis optica in clude cerebrospinal fluid immunological biomarkers such as glial fibrillary acidic protein,serum astrocyte damage biomarkers like FAM19A5,serum albumin,and gammaaminobutyric acid.The latest prospective clinical trials are exploring the potential of these biomarkers.Preliminary results indicate that glial fibrillary acidic protein is emerging as a promising candidate biomarker for neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder.The ultimate goal of future research is to identify non-invasive biomarkers with high sensitivity,specificity,and safety for the accurate diagnosis of neuro myelitis optica.Xiangjun Li Jiandong Zhang Siqi Zhang Shengling Shi Yi’an Lu Ying Leng Chunyan Li 2024Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,12:0
