1Chemical characterization of size-resolved aerosols in four seasons and hazy days in the megacity Beijing of China显示文摘Size-resolved aerosol samples were collected by MOUDI in four seasons in 2007 in Beijing. The PM10 and PM1.8mass concentrations were 166.0 ± 120.5 and 91.6 ± 69.7 μg/m^3, respectively,throughout the measurement, with seasonal variation: nearly two times higher in autumn than in summer and spring. Serious fine particle pollution occurred in winter with the PM1.8/PM10 ratio of 0.63, which was higher than other seasons. The size distribution of PM showed obvious seasonal and diurnal variation, with a smaller fine mode peak in spring and in the daytime. OM(organic matter = 1.6 × OC(organic carbon)) and SIA(secondary inorganic aerosol) were major components of fine particles, while OM, SIA and Ca_2+were major components in coarse particles. Moreover, secondary components, mainly SOA(secondary organic aerosol) and SIA,accounted for 46%–96% of each size bin in fine particles, which meant that secondary pollution existed all year. Sulfates and nitrates, primarily in the form of(NH_4)_2SO_4, NH_4NO_3, Ca SO_4, Na_2SO_4 and K_2SO_4, calculated by the model ISORROPIA II, were major components of the solid phase in fine particles. The PM concentration and size distribution were similar in the four seasons on non-haze days, while large differences occurred on haze days, which indicated seasonal variation of PM concentration and size distribution were dominated by haze days. 2The internalization pathway,metabolic fate and biological effect of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles in the macrophage-like RAW264.7 cell显示文摘The potential applications of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) in several nanomedical fields have attracted intense interest based on the cell-nano interaction. However, the mechanisms underlying cell uptake, the intracellular trail, final fate and the biological effects of SPIONs have not yet been clearly elucidated. Here, we showed that multiple endocytic pathways were involved in the internalization process of SPIONs in the RAW264.7 macrophage. The internalized SPIONs were biocompatible and used three different metabolic pathways: The SPIONs were distributed to daughter cells during mitosis; they were degraded in the lysosome and free iron was released into the intracellular iron metabolic pool; and, the intact SPIONs were potentially exocytosed out of the cells. The internalized SPIONs did not induce cell damage but affected iron metabolism, inducing the upregulation of ferritin light chain at both the mRNA and protein levels and ferroportin 1 at the mRNA level. 3Parameterization of COSMO-RS model for ionic liquids显示文摘The adjustable parameters in the popular conductor-like screening model for real solvents(COSMO-RS)within the Amsterdam density functional(ADF)framework have been re-optimized to fit for the systems containing ionic liquids(ILs).To get the optimal values of misfit energy constant a^0,hydrogen bond coefficient c_(hb)and effective contact surface area of a segment a_(eff),2283 activity coefficient data points at infinite dilution and 1433 CO_2 solubility data points exhaustively collected from references were used as training set.The average relative deviations(ARDs)of activity coefficients at infinite dilution and CO_2 solubility between experimental data and predicted values are 32.22%and17.61%,respectively,both of which are significantly lower than the original COSMO-RS versions.Predictions for other activity coefficients of solutes in ILs,solubility data of CO_2 in pure ILs and the binary mixtures of ILs at either high or low temperatures,and vapor–liquid equilibrium(VLE)for binary systems involving ILs have also been performed to demonstrate the validity of the parameterization of COSMO-RS model for ILs.The results showed that the predicted results by COSMO-RS model with the new optimized parameters are in much better agreement with experimental data than those by the original versions over a wide temperature and pressure range.The COSMO-RS model for ILs presented in this work improves the prediction accuracy of thermodynamic properties for the systems containing ILs,which is always highly desirable for general chemical engineers.Jingli Han Chengna Dai Gangqiang Yu Zhigang Lei 2018Green Energy & Environment2018,3,3:6
4Soil particle and moisture-related factors determine landward distribution of bacterial communities in a lateral riverside continuum of the Xilin River Basin显示文摘Continuous landscape components along the lateral riverside are affected by both hydrologic connectivity and disconnectivity.In recent years,anthropogenic activities and climate changes have caused wetland shrinkage and land degradation along the lateral riverside of many arid and semiarid regions.Since microorganisms are major drivers of soil biochemical cycling,it is essential to examine soil microbial communities along the lateral landscape continuum to understand their ecosystem functioning and predict future land changes.Here,we collected samples along a lateral riverbed center-riverbed edge-oxbow lake-floodplain-terrace continuum(i.e.,landward distribution)in the Xilin River Basin,Inner Mongolia,China.The floodplain had the highest microbial diversity and heterogeneity,with Bacteroidetes,β-andγ-Proteobacteria being the most abundant taxa.In contrast,the terrace had the lowest microbial diversity and heterogeneity,with Acidobacteria,Actinobacteria,Verrucomicrobia,Gemmatimonadetes,andα-Proteobacteria as the most abundant taxa.Silt particle,salinity,and moisture were the most influential factors for landward variation of bacterial communities along the riverside continuum.Altogether,we demonstrate that dominant bacterial lineages,soil particles,and moisture-related factors are valuable indicators of this continuum,which can be leveraged for the early prediction of drought-induced wetland shrinkage and grassland desertification.Jingli Yu Jingjing Xia Qiaoli Ma Chi Zhang Ji Zhao Xininigen Tanggood Yunfeng Yang 2021Soil Ecology Letters2021,3,4:3

12Data Location Mechanism in Agent-Based Autonomic Storage Systems显示文摘This paper introduces agent-based methodology to build a distributed autonomic storage system infrastructure, and an effectively negotiation mechanism based on agent is applied for data location. We present Availability-based Data Allocation (ADA) algorithm as a data placement strategy to achieve high efficient utilization of storage resources by employing multiple distributed storage resources. We use Bloom filter in each storage device to track the location of data. 13Microfluidics-assisted optimization of highly adhesive haemostatic hydrogel coating for arterial puncture显示文摘Although common in clinical practice,bleeding after tissue puncture may cause serious outcomes,especially in arterial puncture.Herein,gelatin-tannic acid composite hydrogels with varying compositions are prepared,and their adhesive properties are further optimized in microfluidic channel-based simulated vessels for haemostasis in arterial puncture.It is revealed that the composite hydrogels on the syringe needles used for arterial puncture should possess underwater adhesion higher than 4.9 kPa and mechanical strength higher than 86.0 kPa.The needles coated with the gelatin-tannic acid composite hydrogel completely prevent blood loss after both vein and arterial puncture in different animal models.This study holds great significance for the preparation of haemostatic needles for vessel puncture,and gelatin-tannic acid hydrogel coated needles may help to prevent complications associated with arterial puncture.Xingjie Yin Jingli Ren Wei Lan Yu Chen Mengping Ouyang Hua Su Lianbin Zhang Jintao Zhu Chun Zhang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,6:0
14Correlation between jerky flow and jerky dynamics in a nanoscratch on a metallic glass film显示文摘Chaos has been well understood in dynamic system, however, how the chaotic behavior occur in jerky flow in material, is still not clear, and is lack of specific chaotic attractor. Here the jerky evolution of lateral force and the stair-like fluctuation of lateral displacement are observed for Ni62 Nb38(at.%) metallic glass film during nanoscratch process. This jerky flow is investigated by using the largest Lyapunov exponent, Kolmogorov entropy and fractal dimension, and chaotic behavior of lateral force-time and normal displacement-lateral displacement sequences is verified. In addition to time series analysis, it is found that jerk equation can be used to describe the jerky flow of the metallic-glass film during nanoscratch. More importantly, unambiguous chaotic attractor is presented by jerky dynamics using 'jerk'-singularities, namely the total change rate of lateral force relative to scratch time. 15Interfacial charge effects of supported-metal-cluster heterostructures on azo hydrogenation catalyzation显示文摘The impact of interfacial charge on catalytic performance of supported-metal-cluster(SMC)heterostructures remains unclear,hindering efforts to develop high-performance SMC catalysts.Herein we systematically investigated interfacial charge effects of SMCs using a model system of graphene-supported gold-nanoclusters(AuNCs/rGO)for azo hydrogenation.Three types of SMCs with different interfacial charges were synthesized by anchoring electropositive 2-aminoethanethiol(CSH),amphoteric cysteine(Cys),and electronegative 3-mercaptopropionic-acid(MPA)onto AuNCs/rGO,respectively.All three SMCs exhibited high and selective catalytic activity to azo-hydrogenation in four representative azo dyes.The catalytic activity of Cys@AuNCs/rGO was lower than that of CSH@AuNCs/rGO but higher than that of MPA@AuNCs/rGO.However,the cyclic stability of Cys@AuNCs/rGO was inferior to that of both CSH@AuNCs/rGO and MPA@AuNCs/rGO.Further mechanistic studies revealed that amino ligands modified CSH@AuNCs and Cys@AuNCs agglomerated into large-size gold nanoparticles on rGO surface during catalytic reaction under NaBH_(4) action,leading to reduced efficiency and cyclic stability.Conversely,non-amino ligand modified MPA@AuNCs only partially detached from rGO surface without agglomeration,resulting in better cyclic stability.Protection of amino groups in ligands such as modifying-NH_(3)^(+)group in Cys into imine to form N-isobutyryl-L-cysteine(NIBC)substantially improved the cyclic stability while maintaining the high activity in the NIBC@AuNCs/rGO catalyst system.Our work provides an approach for developing a highly-active and stable SMC heterostructure catalyst via manipulating interfacial charges in SMC.Zhenhua Gu Jingli Zhang Zijun Zhang Qingxue Mu Liangchong Yu Taolei Sun Lei Shen Guanbin Gao 2024Nano Research2024,17,5:0
16Enhancing maize's nitrogen-fixing potential through ZmSBT3, a gene suppressing mucilage secretion∞显示文摘Maize(Zea mays)requires substantial amounts of nitrogen,posing a challenge for its cultivation.Recent work discovered that some ancient Mexican maize landraces harbored diazotrophic bacteria in mucilage secreted by their aerial roots.To see if this trait is retained in modern maize,we conducted a field study of aerial root mucilage(ARM)in 258 inbred lines.We observed that ARM secretion is common in modern maize,but the amount significantly varies,and only a few lines have retained the nitrogen‐fixing traits found in ancient landraces.The mucilage of the high‐ARM inbred line HN5‐724 had high nitrogen‐fixing enzyme activity and abundant diazotrophic bacteria.Our genome‐wide association study identified 17 candidate genes associated with ARM across three environments.Knockouts of one candidate gene,the subtilase family gene ZmSBT3,confirmed that it negatively regulates ARM secretion.Notably,the ZmSBT3 knockout lines had increased biomass and total nitrogen accumulation under nitrogen‐free culture conditions.High ARM was associated with three ZmSBT3 haplotypes that were gradually lost during maize domestication,being retained in only a few modern inbred lines such as HN5‐724.In summary,our results identify ZmSBT3 as a potential tool for enhancing ARM,and thus nitrogen fixation,in maize.Jingyang Gao Peijiang Feng Jingli Zhang Chaopei Dong Zhao Wang Mingxiang Chen Zhongliang Yu Bowen Zhao Xin Hou Huijuan Wang Zhaokun Wu Razia Sultana Jemim Haidong Yu Doudou Sun Pei Jing Jiafa Chen Weibin Song Xuecai Zhang Zijian Zhou Jianyu Wu 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,12:0
17Noninherited Factors in Fetal Congenital Heart Diseases Based on Bayesian Network:A Large Multicenter Study显示文摘Background:Current studies have confirmed that fetal congenital heart diseases(CHDs)are caused by various factors.However,the quantitative risk of CHD is not clear given the combined effects of multiple factors.Objective:This cross-sectional study aimed to detect associated factors of fetal CHD using a Bayesian network in a large sample and quantitatively analyze relative risk ratios(RRs).Methods:Pregnant women who underwent fetal echocardiography(N=16,086 including 3,312 with CHD fetuses)were analyzed.Twenty-six maternal and fetal factors were obtained.A Bayesian network is constructed based on all variables through structural learning and parameter learning methods to find the environmental factors that directly and indirectly associated with outcome,and the probability of fetal CHD in the two groups is predicted through a junction tree reasoning algorithm,so as to obtain RR for fetal CHD under different exposure factor combinations.Taking into account the effect of gestational week on the accuracy of model prediction,we conducted sensitivity analysis on gestational week groups.Results:The single-factor analysis showed that the RRs for the numbers of births,spontaneous abortions,and parental smoking were 1.50,1.38,and 1.11(P<0.001),respectively.The risk gradually increased with the synergistic effect of ranging from one to more environmental factors above.The risk was higher among subjects with five synergistic factors,including the number of births,upper respiratory tract infection during early pregnancy,anemia,and mental stress as well as a history of spontaneous abortions or parental smoking,than in those with less than 5 factors(RR=2.62 or 2.28,P<0.001).This result was consistent across the participants grouped by GWs.Conclusion:We identified six factors that were directly associated with fetal CHD.A higher number of these factors led to a higher risk of CHD.These findings suggest that it is important to strengthen healthcare and prenatal counseling for women with these factors.Yanping Ruan Xiangyu Liu Haogang Zhu Yijie Lu Xiaowei Liu Jiancheng Han Lin Sun Ye Zhang Xiaoyan Gu Ying Zhao Lei Li Suzhen Ran Jingli Chen Qiong Yu Yan Xu Hongmei Xia Yihua He 2021Congenital Heart Disease2021,16,6:0
18Evolution of Groundwater Major Components in the Hebei Plain: Evidences from 30-Year Monitoring Data显示文摘Groundwater is the main water source in the Hebei Plain. Evolution of groundwater chemistry can not only provide scientific data for sustainable usage of groundwater resources, but also help us in better understanding hydrogeochemical processes in aquifers. Spatial distribution and temporal evolution were analyzed on basis of monitoring data between 1975 and 2005. Results showed that major components in groundwater had increasing trends since 1970s. Major components in shallow groundwater increased more than those in deep one. In shallow groundwater of piedmont alluvial fan-recharge zone, concentrations of Na+, Ca2+, SO42- had great increasing trends, while other major components increased by less than 30%. There were great increasing trends in Na+, Cl-, SO42- concentrations in deep groundwater of central alluvial plain-intermediate zone, while other major components increased by no more than 20%. Deep groundwater from coast plain-discharge zone and piedmont alluvial fan-recharge zone showed no significant variations in major ion concentrations. In shallow groundwater, dissolution, evaporation and human activities played a major role in the increase in major components. 19Extracting governing system for the plastic deformation of metallic glasses using machine learning显示文摘This paper shows hidden information from the plastic deformation of metallic glasses using machine learning.Ni_(62)Nb_(38)(at.%)metallic glass(MG)film and Zr_(64.13)Cu_(15.75)Al_(10)Ni_(10.12)(at.%)BMG,as two model materials,are considered for nano-scratching and compression experiment,respectively.The interconnectedness among variables is probed using correlation analysis.The evolvement mechanism and governing system of plastic deformation are explored by combining dynamical neural networks and sparse identification.The governing system has the same basis function for different experiments,and the coefficient error is≤0.14%under repeated experiments,revealing the intrinsic quality in metallic glasses.Furthermore,the governing system is conducted based on the preceding result to predict the deformation behavior.This shows that the prediction agrees well with the real value for the deformation process.Liping Yu Xiaoxiang Guo Gang Wang Baoan Sun Dongxue Han Cun Chen Jingli Ren Weihua Wang 2022Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,6:0
20Aromatase and steroid sulfatase mRNA expression in fine needle aspirates from benign and malignant breast disorders显示文摘The fine needle aspiration (FNA) test is a convenient and tolerable technique with minimal invasion that is accepted by most women.Local estrogen synthesis depends mainly on the aromatase and steroid sulfatase pathways that are believed to play important roles in breast carcinogenesis.However,little is known about the level of aromatase and steroid sulfatase mRNA expression in FNA samples which contain only small amounts of tissue.The nested Q-PCR assay has been proven to be a highly sensitive and specific method to assess the aromatase expression of breast tissue.In this study,aromatase and steroid sulfatase mRNA expression in 74 patients with benign or malignant disorders was evaluated and compared using nested Q-PCR and non-nested Q-PCR assays.The expression levels were analyzed and correlated with clinical parameters.No difference in the aromatase expression levels between nested and non-nested Q-PCR was noticed.Age and aromatase mRNA expression level were two independent risk factors for breast cancer (P=0.04 and P=0.00,respectively),while menopausal status and steroid sulfatase mRNA expression levels were not associated with breast cancer.This study showed that both nested and non-nested Q-PCR assays were effective methods for research using FNA breast samples.GAO Lei QI Ying LIU JingLi YU XiaoMeng XIA Wei LIU GuiJian 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,20:0
