| 2 | Comparison of dust emissions, transport, and deposition between the Taklimakan Desert and Gobi Desert from 2007 to 2011显示文摘The Taklimakan Desert(TD) and Gobi Desert(GD) are two of the most important dust sources in East Asia, and have important impact on energy budgets, ecosystems and water cycles at regional and even global scales. To investigate the contribution of the TD and the GD to dust concentrations in East Asia as a whole, dust emissions, transport, and deposition over the TD and the GD in different seasons from 2007 to 2011 were systematically compared, based on the Weather Research and Forecasting model coupled with Chemistry(WRF-Chem). Dust emissions, uplift, and long-range transport related to these two dust source regions were markedly different due to differences in topography, elevation, thermal conditions, and atmospheric circulation. Specifically,the topography of the GD is relatively flat, and at a high elevation, and the area is under the influence of two jet streams at high altitudes, resulting in high wind speeds in the upper atmosphere. Deep convective mixing enables the descending branch of jet streams to continuously transport momentum downward to the mid-troposphere, leading to enhanced wind speeds in the lower troposphere over the GD which favors the vertical uplift of the GD dust particles. Therefore, the GD dust was very likely to be transported under the effect of strong westerly jets, and thus played the most important role in contributing to dust concentrations in East Asia. Approximately 35% and 31% of dust emitted from the GD transported to remote areas in East Asia in spring and summer, respectively. The TD has the highest dust emission capabilities in East Asia, with emissions of about 70.54 Tg yr.1 in spring, accounting for 42% of the total dust emissions in East Asia. However, the TD is located in the Tarim Basin and surrounded by mountains on three sides. Furthermore, the dominant surface wind direction is eastward and the average wind speed at high altitudes is relatively small over the TD. As a result, the TD dust particles are not easily transported outside the Tarim Basin, such that most of the dust particles are re-deposited after uplift, at a total deposition rate of about 40 g m.2. It is only when the TD dust particles are uplifted above 4 km, and entrained in westerlies that they begin to undergo a long-range transport. Therefore,the contribution of the TD dust to East Asian dust concentrations was relatively small. | 3 | Fouling corrosion in aluminum heat exchangers显示文摘Fouling deposits on aluminum heat exchanger reduce the heat transfer efficiency and cause corrosion to the apparatus.This study focuses on the corrosive behavior of aluminum coupons covered with a layer of artificial fouling in a humid atmosphere by their weight loss,Tafel plots,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS),and scanning electron microscope(SEM)observations.The results reveal that chloride is one of the major elements found in the fouling which damages the passive film and initiates corrosion.The galvanic corrosion between the metal and the adjacent carbon particles accelerates the corrosive process.Furthermore,the black carbon favors the moisture uptake,and gives the dissolved oxygen greater chance to migrate through the fouling layer and form a continuous diffusive path.The corrosion rate decreasing over time is conformed to electrochemistry measurements and can be verified by Faraday’s law.The EIS results indicate that the mechanism of corrosion can be interpreted by the pitting corrosion evolution mechanism,and that pitting was observed on the coupons by SEM after corrosive exposure. | Su Jingxin Ma Minyu Wang Tianjing Guo Xiaomei Hou Liguo Wang Zhiping | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,3: | 5 |

| 10 | Liquefaction of bamboo biomass and production of three fractions containing aromatic compounds显示文摘Depolymerization of lignin to produce value-added aromatic monomers has attracted increasing attention since these monomers can be used as phenol replacement in production of phenolic resins.Here a one-pot depolymerization of bamboo lignin was investigated to obtain aromatic platforms with low molecular weight using acidic catalyst and ethanol.Three fractions(1#,2#,and 3#)containing different molecular weight distributions of aromatic compounds could be efficiently extracted using water-organic solvent system via a stepwise fractionation process by gradual removal of solvent.The fractions distribution was found to be primarily dependent on the reaction temperature and time.When the temperature was increased from 160°C to 200°C,the yield of fractions containing aromatic products increased significantly from 19.1 wt%to 27 wt%,the same change trend was found by changing the time,and the yield of aromatic products increased from 22.4%to 26.7%with an increase of time from 10 min to 30 min.The bioproducts were characterized by using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry(GC-MS),gel permeation chromatography(GPC)and two-dimensional heteronuclear single-quantum coherence(2D HSQC NMR).As evidenced by GC-MS spectra,the three fractions were mainly comprised of phenolic derivatives,and the relative contents of phenolic compounds took up about 80%of the total area of each fraction.With the similar physiochemical properties of the fractions,aromatic platforms could provide a new paradigm of bamboo lignin utilization for renewable energy and value-added biochemicals. | Yan Ma Weihong Tan Jingxin Wang Junming Xu Kui Wang Jianchun Jiang | 2020 | Journal of Bioresources and Bioproducts2020,5,2: | 0 |
| 11 | Assessing stand structure in successional stages of dark coniferous forests in western Sichuan, China显示文摘Subalpine dark coniferous forests in the western Sichuan Province of China play an important role in the hydrological processes in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Second-growth forests, with different stand successional stages, have developed as a result of logging over the past 50 years. Forest cover and stand structure changed greatly with concomitant degradation of forest ecosystem functions. To understand how the stand structures of the second-growth forests change during the stand succession process, we analyzed stand structure characteristics and an old-growth state index of the bamboo and moss-forest types. We found that stand structure at the young successional stage featured one-third of the structure characteristics of the old-growth dark coniferous forests,while the structure of the medium-aged stage had reached half the structure of the old-growth state. | 13 | Energy Consumption in China's Construction Industry: Energy Driving and Driven Abilities from a Regional Perspective显示文摘The construction industry is one of the largest energy consumers in China. It not only uses energy directly but also consumes a large amount of embodied energy hidden in intermediate goods and services from other industries. This paper utilizes the multi-regional input-output(MRIO)model to measure the embodied energy consumption in China's construction industry at the province level. To quantify the backward and forward linkages between the construction industry and other industries, the energy-driven and energy-driving abilities of the construction industry are investigated for 30 provinces. The results show that the values of the energy-driven coefficients are significantly larger than the energy-driving coefficients, indicating that the construction industry is highly dependent on products from other industries and other regions, not vice versa. The construction industries in the southwest and northwest regions of China have the highest energy-driven coefficients, showing that the construction industries in west China heavily rely on indirect energy embodied in goods and services. This particularly applies in Guangxi and Hainan provinces, which have the highest energydriven abilities and the lowest energy-driving abilities. | 14 | CTCF organizes inter-A compartment interactions through RYBP-dependent phase separation显示文摘Chromatin is spatially organized into three-dimensional structures at different levels including A/B compartments, topologically associating domains and loops. The canonical CTCF-mediated loop extrusion model can explain the formation of loops. However, the organization mechanisms underlying long-range chromatin interactions such as interactions between A–A compartments are still poorly understood. Here we show that different from the canonical loop extrusion model, RYBP-mediated phase separation of CTCF organizes inter-A compartment interactions. Based on this model, we designed and verified an induced CTCF phase separation system in embryonic stem cells (ESCs), which facilitated inter-A compartment interactions, improved self-renewal of ESCs and inhibited their differentiation toward neural progenitor cells. | 15 | A new generation M^(pro)inhibitor with potent activity against SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants显示文摘Emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants, particularly the Omicron variant and its sublineages, continually threaten the global public health.Small molecule antivirals are an effective treatment strategy to fight against the virus. However, the first-generation antivirals eithershow limited clinical efficacy and/or have some defects in pharmacokinetic (PK) properties. Moreover, with increased use of thesedrugs across the globe, they face great pressure of drug resistance. We herein present the discovery and characterization of a newgeneration antiviral drug candidate (SY110), which is a potent and selective inhibitor of SARS-CoV-2 main protease (Mpro). Thiscompound displayed potent in vitro antiviral activity against not only the predominant SARS-CoV-2 Omicron sublineage BA.5, butalso other highly pathogenic human coronaviruses including SARS-CoV-1 and MERS-CoV. In the Omicron-infected K18-hACE2mouse model, oral treatment with SY110 significantly lowered the viral burdens in lung and alleviated the virus-induced pathology.Importantly, SY110 possesses favorable PK properties with high oral drug exposure and oral bioavailability, and also an outstandingsafety profile. Furthermore, SY110 exhibited sensitivity to several drug-resistance Mpro mutations. Fortunately, polyester nanoparticles offer certain solutions to this problem. This review article firstly describes the main obstacles faced by oral administered brain targeting, including:(1)instability in the gastrointestinal tract;(2) poor penetration of the intestinal mucosa and epithelium;(3)blood clearance;and(4) restriction by the BBB. Then the key factors influencing brain-targeting efficiency of orally administered polyester nanoparticles are also discussed, such as size, shape and surface properties. Finally, recent brain-targeting delivery strategies using oral polyester nanoparticles as carriers and their effects on brain drugs transport are reviewed, and the delivery ‘as a whole’ strategy of polyester nanoparticles will provide new insight for oral brain-targeting delivery. | 18 | Bromate formation during oxidation of bromide-containing water by the CuO catalyzed peroxymonosulfate process显示文摘Bromate formation has been found in the SO_(4)^(•−)-based oxidation processes,but previous studies primarily focused on the bromate formation in the homogeneous SO_(4)^(•−)-based oxidation processes.The kinetics and mechanisms of bromate formation are poorly understood in the heterogeneous SO_(4)^(•−)-based oxidation processes,although which have been widely studied in the eliminations of micropollutants.In this work,we found that the presence of CuO,a common heterogeneous catalyst of peroxymonosulfate(PMS),appreciably enhanced the bromate formation from the oxidation of bromide by PMS.The conversion ratio of bromide to bromate achieved over 85%within 10 min in this process.CuO was demonstrated to play a multiple role in the bromate formation:(1)catalyzed PMS to generate SO_(4)^(•−),which then oxidizes bromide to bromate;(2)catalyzed the formed free bromine to disproportionate to bromate;(3)catalyzed the formed free bromine to decomposed back into bromide.In the CuO-PMS-Br system,bromate formation increases with increasing CuO dosages,initial CuO and bromide concentrations,but decreases with increasing bicarbonate concentrations.The presence of NOM(natural organic matter)resulted in a lower formed bromate accompanied with organic bromine formation.Notably,CuO catalyzes PMS to transform more than 70%of initial bromide to bromate even after recycled used for six times.The formation of bromate in the PMS catalysis by CuO system was also confirmed in real water. | Jingxin Yang Hongrui Ma Chuan Wang Hong Liu | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,11: | 0 |
| 19 | A CombustionModel for Explosive Charge Affected by a Bottom Gap in the Launch Environment显示文摘Launch safety of explosive charges has become an urgent problem to be solved by all countries in the world aslaunch situation of ammunition becomes consistentlyworse.However, the existing numericalmodels have differentdefects. This paper formulates an efficient computational model of the combustion of an explosive charge affectedby a bottom gap in the launch environment in the context of the material point method. The current temperatureis computed accurately from the heat balance equation, and different physical states of the explosive charges areconsidered through various equations of state. Microcracks in the explosive charges are described with respectto the viscoelastic statistical crackmechanics (Visco–SCRAM) model. Themethod for calculating the temperatureat the bottomof the explosive charge with respect to the bottomgap is described. Based on this combustionmodel,the temperature history of a Composition B (COMB) explosive charge in the presence of a bottom gap is obtainedduring the launch process of a 155-mm artillery. The simulation results show that the bottom gap thickness shouldbe no greater than 0.039 cm to ensure the safety of the COM B explosive charge in the launch environment. Thisconclusion is consistent with previous results and verifies the correctness of the proposed model.
