| 1 | Ameliorating effects of traditional Chinese medicine preparation, Chinese materia medica and active compounds on ischemia/reperfusion-induced cerebral microcirculatory disturbances and neuron damage显示文摘Ischemic stroke and ischemia/reperfusion(I/R) injury induced by thrombolytic therapy are conditions with high mortality and serious long-term physical and cognitive disabilities. They have a major impact on global public health. These disorders are associated with multiple insults to the cerebral microcirculation, including reactive oxygen species(ROS) overproduction, leukocyte adhesion and infiltration, brain blood barrier(BBB) disruption, and capillary hypoperfusion, ultimately resulting in tissue edema, hemorrhage, brain injury and delayed neuron damage. Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has been used in China, Korea, Japan and other Asian countries for treatment of a wide range of diseases.In China, the usage of compound TCM preparation to treat cerebrovascular diseases dates back to the Han Dynasty. Even thousands of years earlier, the medical formulary recorded many classical prescriptions for treating cerebral I/R-related diseases. | 2 | Paleostructural geomorphology of the Paleozoic central uplift belt and its constraint on the development of depositional facies in the Tarim Basin显示文摘Inclined eastward and consisting of the Hetianhe, Hetianhedong, Tazhong paleouplifts and Bachu paleoslope, the central paleouplift belt in the Tarim Basin was a large composite paleouplift and paleoslope belt with complicated palaeogeomorphic features during the Middle to early Late Ordovician. A number of paleostructural geomorphic elements have been identified in the paleouplift belt and surrounding areas, such as the high uplift belts, the faulted uplift platforms, the marginal slopes and slope break zones flanking the paleouplift belt, the surrounding shelf slopes or low relief ramps, the shelf slope break zones and deep basin plains. They exerted great influence on the development of paleogeography of the basin. The marginal slopes and slope break zones flanking the uplift belt constrained the formation and deposition of the high-energy facies including reefal and shoal deposits during the Late Ordovician, which comprise the major reservoirs of the Lower Paleozoic in the basin. Toward the end of the Ordovician, the Tazhong paleouplift hinged westward and became a westward-dipped nose as the southeastern margin of the basin was strongly compressed and uplifted. The tectono-paleogeomorphic framework of the central northern basin during the Early Silurian and the Late Devonian to Early Carboniferous changed remarkably in topography from the initial low in east and high in west to high in northeast and low in southwest. The major paleogeomorphic elements developed in these periods included the strong eroded uplift high, the uplift marginal slope, the gentle ramp of the depression margin and the depression belt. The sandstones of the lowstand and the early transgressive systems tracts were deposited along the uplift marginal slopes and the gentle ramps of the depressions comprise the prolific reservoirs in the basin. The study indicates that the distribution patterns of the unconformities within the basin are closely related to the paleogeomorphic features and evolution of the paleouplift belt. From the high uplift belt to the depression, we found the composed unconformity belts at the high uplift, the truncated and onlap triangular unconformity belts along the uplift marginal slopes, the minor angular unconformity or discontinuity belts along the transitional zones from the uplift marginal slopes to depression and the conformity belt in the central depression. | 3 | Insights into the regulation of C-repeat binding factors in plant cold signaling显示文摘Cold temperatures, a major abiotic stress,threaten the growth and development of plants, worldwide. To cope with this adverse environmental cue, plants from temperate climates have evolved an array of sophisticated mechanisms to acclimate to cold periods,increasing their ability to tolerate freezing stress. Over the last decade, significant progress has been made in determining the molecular mechanisms underpinning cold acclimation, including following the identification of several pivotal components, including candidates for cold sensors, protein kinases, and transcription factors. With these developments, we have a better understanding of the CBF-dependent cold-signaling pathway. | 4 | Effects of Duhuojisheng Tang and combined therapies on prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc:a systematic review of randomized control trails显示文摘OBJECTIVE:A systematic review of the literature was conducted to evaluate the curative effect and safety of Duhuojisheng Tang on prolapse of the lumbar intervertebral disc.METHODS:The databases of PubMed,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Chinese Scientific Journals Database(VIP),Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM) and Chinese Medical Citation Index(CMCI) were searched up to January 30,2012.Randomized controlled trials were selected to compare Duhuojisheng Tang with one or more of the following treatments:traction,acupuncture,massage,cupping and Western medical treatment.The quality-evaluating standard and the software RevMan 5.1 in Cochrane coordinative net were used to analyze the data.The effective indexes of the results were clinical curative rate,effectiveness of alleviating clinical symptoms and adverse reaction.RESULTS:Thirty-one randomized controlled trials of low quality,involving 3915 patients were systematically evaluated.Statistical analyses showed that good curative effect was achieved in both the group using Duhuojisheng Tang alone and with combined therapies.CONCLUSION:Using Duhuojisheng Tang alone or combined with other therapies can effectively improve pain,leg-raising height and other clinical symptoms of patients with prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc.Due to low methodological quality of the articles,no exact recommendations can be made. | Yanxu Ma Minghua Huang Jingyan Cui Kai Meng Yuhao Zhao | 2013 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,2: | 27 |
| 5 | Changing patterns and survival improvements of young breast cancer in China and SEER database, 1999-2017显示文摘Objective: Breast cancer in young females was usually considered more aggressive and requires aggressive therapy. We investigated whether early detection and improved treatments changed the patterns of characteristics,management and outcomes of young breast cancer patients over time.Methods: Females under 40 years of age diagnosed with breast cancer during the periods 1999-2017 and1999-2015 were identified in the Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center(FUSCC) and the population-based Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results(SEER) registry, respectively. Clinicopathologic characteristics and treatment information were collected. Patients diagnosed before 2013 were followed up.Results: The proportions of young breast cancer patients were 15.0% and 5.3% in the FUSCC and SEER cohorts, respectively. In the FUSCC cohort, there was a significant increase in the proportion of ductal carcinoma in situ(DCIS)(from 8.8% to 16.9%;P<0.0001) and it remained stable in SEER cohort. The proportion of T1-stage tumors increased dramatically in the FUSCC cohort(from 35.3% to 41.9%;P=0.008), whereas it decreased in SEER cohort(from 42.4% to 33.0%;P<0.0001). The percentage of estrogen receptor(ER)-positive cancers was consistently increased in both the invasive ductal carcinoma(IDC) and DCIS patients in the two cohorts. Breastconserving surgery and immediate implant reconstruction after mastectomy both exhibited increased use over time in the FUSCC cohort. Both the FUSCC and SEER cohorts showed a significantly better prognosis in the recent time period.Conclusions: With the increased early-stage and ER-positive diseases in young patients as well as better systemic treatment strategies, improved survival has been observed in recent years. | 6 | Gambogic acid induces mitochondria-dependent apoptosis by modulation of Bcl-2 and Bax in mantle cell lymphoma JeKo-1 cells显示文摘Aim: To study the mechanisms in gambogic acid (GA) -induced JeKo-1 human Mantle Cell Lymphoma cell apoptosis in vitro. Methods: The proliferation of GA-treated JeKo-1 cells was measured by CCK-8 assay and Ki-67 immunocytochemical detection. Apoptosis, cell cycle and mitochondrial membrane potential were measured by flow cytometric analysis. Caspase-3,-8 and -9 were detected by colorimetric assay. Bcl-2 and Bax were analyzed by Western blotting. Results: GA inhibited cell growth in a time-and dose-dependent manner. GA induces apoptosis in JeKo-1 cells but not in normal bone marrow cells, which was involved in reducing the membrane potential of mitochondria, activating caspases-3, -8 and -9 and decreasing the ratio of Bcl-2 and Bax without cell cycle arresting. | 7 | Depositional architecture and developing settings of large-scale incised valley and sub-marine gravity flow systems in the Yinggehai and Qiong-dongnan basins,South China Sea显示文摘In the Ying-Qiong basins in the South China Sea developed a set of giant inner shelf slope and submarine gravity flow deposits in the Ying-Huang formations since the Late Miocene. These deposits can be classified into 9 sequences in which slope slump-debris flow, slope fan and particularly, the large-scale axial basin-floor incised valley fills have been recognized. They were distributed in a distinctive pattern attributed to tectonic control. The development ofshelf slopes and abyssal plains in the basins was related to the last episode of rapid subsidence and a large amount of sediment inputs. | 8 | Palaeogeomorphology and its control on the development of sequence stratigraphy and depositional systems of the Early Silurian in the Tarim Basin显示文摘The Silurian in the Tarim Basin was deposited on the basement deformed by the Caledonian tectonic movements at the end of the Late Ordovician. The development and distribution of sedimentary sequences of the Early Silurian have been clearly controlled by the palaeogeomorphology of the Late Ordovician. Based on unconformity characteristics and distribution of erosion, several zones can be differentiated including a high uplifted erosion zone, a transitional slope zone and a depression zone. The central and west Tabei Uplift zones show high angular unconformity and intense erosion. The Tarim Basin in the late Ordovician shows characteristics of higher in the west, lower in the east while higher in the south, lower in the north. The Early Silurian mainly developed transgressive and highstand systems tracts on the whole, while the lowstand systems tract only developed partly below the slope break. The palaeogeomorphology controlled the clastic source supply and deposit distribution. Braided delta system and tidal flat–estuary system were deposited. The duration of uplifting of the Tazhong paleouplift was longer than that of the Tabei paleo-uplift, and deposition was later. This led to the lower and middle members of the Kepingtage Formation missing in that area. As a large-scale transgression occurred during the deposition period of the upper member of the Kepingtage Formation, sediment from the west of the basin was transported and deposited by tides and waves, forming tidal–marine debris systems above the uplift. Proximal alluvial fan and fan delta coarse clastic deposits developed in proximal uplift zone in the east and southeast of the basin, and braided delta put forward to the transitional zone between the edge of uplift and the sea. Large-scale tidal channel, sub-distributary channel and mouth bar of the delta front can form favorable reservoirs, and they are primary targets for oil and gas exploration. | 11 | Depositional architecture of the late Ordovician drowned carbonate platform margin and its responses to sea-level fluctuation in the northern slope of the Tazhong region, Tarim Basin显示文摘The Tazhong Uplift of the late Ordovician is a drowned rimmed carbonate platform. The carbonate rock of the late Ordovician Lianglitage Formation in the northern slope of the Tazhong region is one of the significant petroliferous intervals. Based on petrofacies, depositional cycles, natural gammaray spectrometry and carbon/oxygen isotope data from the Lianglitage Formation, one 2nd-order, three 3rd-order and several 4th-order sequences have been recognized, and the late Ordovician relative sealevel fluctuation curve has been established. The sequences O 3 l-1 and O 3 l-2 on the platform are composed of highstand and transgressive systems tracts, but lack the lowstand systems tract. The sequence O 3 l-3 is a drowning sequence. The sequence O 3 l-1 overlapped the eroded slope and pinched out to the northwest and landward. The highstand systems tract in the sequence O 3 l-2 consists of low-angle sigmoid and high-angle shingled progradation configuration. Major sedimentary facies of the Lianglitage Formation include reef and shoal in the platform margin and lagoon, which can be subdivided into coral-sponge-stromatoporoid reef complex, sand shoal, lime mud mound, and intershoal sea. Reefs, sand shoals and their complex are potential reservoir facies. The reefs and sand shoals in the sequence O 3 l-1 developed in the upper of its highstand systems tract. In the sequence O 3 l-2, the highstand systems tract with an internal prograding configuration is a response to the lateral shifting of the complex of reef and sand shoal. The transgressive systems tract, in particular the sand shoals, developed widely on the slope of the platform margin and interior. The reefs in the sequence O 3 l-3 migrated towards high positions and formed retrograding reefs in the western platform and low relief in the platform interior. Basinward lateral migration of the reefs and pure carbonate rock both characterize highstand systems tract and show that the rise of the relative sea-level was very slow. Shingled prograding stacking pattern of the 4th-order sequences and reefs grow horizontally, which represents the late stage of highstand systems tract and implies relative sealevel stillstand. Reefs migrating towards high land and impure carbonate rock both indicate transgressive systems tract and suggest that the relative sea-level rose fast. Erosional truncation and epidiagenetic karstification represent a falling relative sea-level. The relative sea-level fluctuation and antecedent palaeotopography control the development and distribution of reef complexes and unconformity karst zones. | 13 | Chrysophanol protects against doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity by suppressing cellular PARylation显示文摘The clinical application of doxorubicin(DOX) in cancer chemotherapy is limited by its lifethreatening cardiotoxic effects. Chrysophanol(CHR), an anthraquinone compound isolated from the rhizome of Rheum palmatum L., is considered to play a broad role in a variety of biological processes.However, the effects of CHR’s cardioprotection in DOX-induced cardiomyopathy is poorly understood. In this study, we found that the cardiac apoptosis, mitochondrial injury and cellular PARylation levels were significantly increased in H9 C2 cells treated by Dox, while these effects were suppressed by CHR. Similar results were observed when PARP1 activity was suppressed by its inhibitors 3-aminobenzamide(3 AB)and ABT888. Ectopic expression of PARP1 effectively blocked this CHR’s cardioprotection against DOX-induced cardiomyocyte injury in H9 C2 cells. Furthermore, pre-administration with both CHR and 3 AB relieved DOX-induced cardiac apoptosis, mitochondrial impairment and heart dysfunction in Sprague–Dawley rat model. | 14 | Micro RNAs in cancer therapeutic response: Friend and foe显示文摘Cancer initiation and development engage extremely complicated pathological processes which involve alterations of a large number of cell signaling cascades and functional networks in temporal and spatial orders. During last decades, microR NAs(miR NAs), a class of noncoding RNAs, have emerged as critical players in cancer pathogenesis and progression by modulating many pathological aspects related to tumor development, growth, metastasis, and drug resistance. The major function of miR NAs is to post-transcriptionally regulate gene expression depending on recognition of complementary sequence residing in target mR NAs. Commonly, a particular mi RNA recognition sequence could be found in a number of genes, which allows a single miR-NA to regulate multiple functionally connected genes simultaneously and/or chronologically. Furthermore, a single gene can be targeted and regulated by multiple miR NAs. However, previous studies have demonstrated that mi RNA functions are highly context-dependent,which leads to distinct pathological outcomes in different types of cancer as well as at different stages by alteration of the same miR NA. Here we summarize recent progress in studies on miR NA function in cancer initiation, metastasis and therapeutic response, focusing on breast cancer. | 15 | The U-Pb chronologic evidence and sedimentary responses of Silurian tectonic activities at northeastern margin of Tarim Basin显示文摘U-Pb ages of Devonian detrital zircons from Tabei Uplift have been determined through LA-ICP-MS test technology.The results revealed that most zircon ages concentrate on 460-414 Ma,especially around 436-423 Ma,indicating possible occurrences of strong tectonic events at the northern margin of Tarim Basin during that period.Combined with previous researches on the basin marginal orogenic belts,intense tectonic activities developed at the northeast margin of Tarim Basin and its obvious sedimentary responses in basin during the end of Ordovician to Early-Middle Silurian are discussed.These include(1) several unconformities within the Late Ordovician-Silurian,showing truncation,erosion,and onlap characteristics,which reflected the local uplift formed during the surrounding extrusion process;(2) the Silurian fluvial delta system from northeast to southwest in Keping,Yingmaili,Hade,and Caohu areas,which reflected the partial uplift at the northeast margin and provided clastic supply to basin;and(3) as indicated by heavy mineral analysis,the Silurian sediments came mainly from the recycles of orogenic belts provenance,which indicated the compress tectonic setting.In addition,a wide range of red mudstone layer distribution in the upper part of the Silurian may be closely related to the surrounding tectonic uplift and the rapid decline of sea levels. | LIU JingYan YANG HaiJun YANG YongHeng CAI ZhenZhong LIU YongQuan RUI ZhiFeng SU ZhenZhen | 2012 | Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,9: | 7 |

The results revealed that the anion structure of ILs plays a dominant role in their thermal and viscosity behavior. These ILs exhibited less corrosion toward copper, related to their halogen-, sulfur-, and phosphorus-free characteristics. The tribological behavior of the synthesized ILs was examined using a Schwingungs Reibung und Verschleiss tester, and the results indicated that these ILs exhibit good friction-reducing and anti-wear properties as lubricants for steel/steel contact. | 17 | Transdermal permeation of Zanthoxylum bungeanum essential oil on TCM components with different lipophilicity显示文摘Objective:To investigate the percutaneous penetration enhancement effect of essential oil from Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim.(Z.bungeanum oil)on active components in externally-applied traditional Chinese medicines.Methods:Five model drugs,geniposide,puerarin,ferulic acid,tetramethylpyrazine,and osthole,were chosen based on their lipophilicity and tested using in vitro transdermal permeation studies consisting of Franz diffusion cells and full thickness rat abdominal skin.Scanning electron microscopy was employed to observe the morphological changes of rat skin tissue after treatment with Z.bungeanum oil.The molecular interactions between the oil and the polar head groups in stratum corneum(SC)lipids were monitored using molecular dynamic simulation,and the SC/vehicle partition coefficients and saturation solubilities of the selected model drugs treated with and without the oil were also determined to ascertain its mechanisms of action.Results:As oil concentration increased,the log ERflow trended toward a negative linear relationship with the lipophilicity of drugs.After treatment with Z.bungeanum oil,a mild lifting up and wrinkle on the SC surface were observed,and appeared to become more pronounced as oil concentration increased.There was no significant difference between the control and the Z.bungeanum oil at different concentrations in terms of saturation solubility of GP,while saturation solubilities of the 4 other drugs gradually increased as oil concentration increased.The oxygen-containing constituents in Z.bungeanum oil,such as terpinen-4-ol and 1,8-cineole,which accounted for 57.95%of total oil,could form stable hydrogen bonds with the polar head group of ceramide 3.Conclusion:Z.bungeanum oil facilitated transdermal permeation of drugs with different lipophilicity,including the extremely hydrophilic and lipophilic drugs,whereas it exhibited greater enhancement activity for strongly hydrophilic drugs.The mechanisms of transdermal permeation enhancement by the oil could be explained with SC/vehicle partition coefficient,saturation solubility,and the interactions with SC lipids. | Yi Lan Jingyan Wang Shuwang He Shuying Li Peng Tan Hongmei Lin Qing Wu | 2016 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2016,3,3: | 6 |
| 18 | Impact of transferred water on the hydrochemistry and water quality of surface water and groundwater in Baiyangdian Lake,North China显示文摘The hydrochemical composition of surface water and groundwater is a key parameter for understanding the evolution of water and its quality.In particular,little is known about the impact of transferred water on surface water and groundwater.In this study,Baiyangdian Lake was selected as a typical area for extensive groundwater exploration and surface water transfer in the North China Plain.Surface water and groundwater samples were sampled in dry/wet seasons and then analyzed before/after the water transfer,respectively.Generally,surface water and groundwater are extensively hydrologically connected based on hydrochemical evidence.It was found that the hydrochemical composition of the shallow groundwater is affected by the surface water and that the water quality of the deep groundwater is stable.However,inter-aquifer recharge processes from the shallow groundwater to the deep groundwater existed in the anthropogenic region impacted with high nitrate-ion concentrations.Also,the hydrochemical composition of the surface water and groundwater was dominated by rock-weathering and evaporation-precipitation processes.Due to the existence of the deep vadose zone in the alluvial fan,Na^(+)was exchanged into soil matrices during the leakage of the surface water.In addition,the transferred water resulted in surface water with good quality,and it also played as an important recharge source to groundwater.As the most important water resource for irrigation and drinking,deep groundwater should be paid more attention in the alluvial fan with frequent water transfer and extensive groundwater exploration. | Yong Zhao Jingyan Han Bing Zhang Jiaguo Gong | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,3: | 6 |

| 20 | Distribution and treatment of harmful gas from heavy oil production in the Liaohe Oilfield, Northeast China显示文摘The distribution and treatment of harmful gas (H 2 S) in the Liaohe Oilfield, Northeast China, were investigated in this study. It was found that abundant toxic gas (H 2 S) is generated in thermal recovery of heavy oil. The H 2 S gas is mainly formed during thermochemical sulfate reduction (TSR) occurring in oil reservoirs or the thermal decomposition of sulfocompounds (TDS) in crude oil. H 2 S generation is controlled by thermal recovery time, temperature and the injected chemical compounds. The quantity of SO 4 2-in the injected compounds is the most influencing factor for the rate of TSR reaction. Therefore, for prevention of H 2 S formation, periodic and effective monitoring should be undertaken and adequate H 2 S absorbent should also be provided during thermal recovery of heavy oil. The result suggests that great efforts should be made to reduce the SO 4 2-source in heavy oil recovery, so as to restrain H 2 S generation in reservoirs. In situ burning or desulfurizer adsorption are suggested to reduce H 2 S levels. Prediction and prevention of H 2 S are important in heavy oil production.
