| 1 | Application of ^(137)Cs fingerprinting technique to interpreting sediment production records from reservoir deposits in a small catchment of the Hilly Loess Plateau,China显示文摘According to variations of 137Cs and clay contents, 44 flood couplets were identified in a profile of res- ervoir deposit with a vertical length of 28.12 m in the Yuntaishan Gully. Couplet 27 at the middle of the profile had the highest average 137Cs content of 12.65 Bq·kg?1, which indicated the 1963s' deposits, then 137Cs content decreased both downward and upward in the profile. The second top and bottom couplets had average 137Cs contents of 2.15 Bq·kg?1 and 0.92 Bq·kg?1, respectively. By integrated analysis of reservoir construction and management history, variations of 137Cs contents over the profile, sediment yields of flood couplets and rainfall data during the period of 1958-1970, individual storms related to the flood couplets were identified. 44 floods with a total sediment yield of 2.36×104 m3 occurred and flood events in a year varied between 1 and 10 times during the period of 1960-1970. 7-10 flood events occurred during the wet period of 1961-1964 with very wet autumn, while only 1-2 events during the dry period of 1965-1969. Average annual specific sediment yield was 1.29×104 t·km?2·a?1 for the Yuntaishan Gully during the period of 1960-1970, which was slightly higher than 1.11 ×104 t·km?2·a?1 for the Upper Yanhe River Basin above the Ganguyi Hydrological Station and slightly lower than 1.40 ×104 t·km?2·a?1 for the nearby Zhifang Gully during the same period. | 2 | Evaluating the accuracy performance of Lucas-Kanade algorithm in the circumstance of PIV application显示文摘Lucas-Kanade(LK) algorithm, usually used in optical flow filed, has recently received increasing attention from PIV community due to its advanced calculation efficiency by GPU acceleration. Although applications of this algorithm are continuously emerging,a systematic performance evaluation is still lacking. This forms the primary aim of the present work. Three warping schemes in the family of LK algorithm: forward/inverse/symmetric warping, are evaluated in a prototype flow of a hierarchy of multiple two-dimensional vortices. Second-order Newton descent is also considered here. The accuracy & efficiency of all these LK variants are investigated under a large domain of various influential parameters. It is found that the constant displacement constraint, which is a necessary building block for GPU acceleration, is the most critical issue in affecting LK algorithm's accuracy, which can be somehow ameliorated by using second-order Newton descent. | 3 | Prophylactic vertebroplasty procedure applied with a resorbable bone cement can decrease the fracture risk of sandwich vertebrae:long-term evaluation of clinical outcomes显示文摘A sandwich vertebra is formed after multiple osteoporotic vertebral fractures treated by percutaneous vertebroplasty,which has a risk of developing new fractures.The purpose of our study was to(i)investigate the occurrence of new fractures in sandwich vertebra after cement augmentation procedures and to(ii)evaluate the clinical outcomes after prophylactic vertebral reinforcement applied with resorbable bone cement.From June 2011 to 2014,we analysed 55 patients with at least one sandwich vertebrae and treated with percutaneous vertebroplasty.Eighteen patients were treated by prophylactic vertebroplasty with a resorbable bone cement to strengthen the sandwich vertebrae as the prevention group.The others were the non-prevention group.All patients were examined by spinal radiographs within 1 day,6 months,12 months,24 months and thereafter.The incidence of sandwich vertebra is 8.25%(55/667)in our study.Most sandwich vertebrae(69.01%,49/71)are distributed in the thoracic-lumbar junction.There are 24 sandwich vertebrae(18 patients)and 47 sandwich vertebrae(37 patients)in either prevention group or non-prevention group,respectively.No significant difference is found between age,sex,body mass index,bone mineral density,cement disk leakage,sandwich vertebrae distribution or Cobb angle in the two groups.In the follow-up,8 out of 37(21.6%)patients(with eight sandwich vertebrae)developed new fractures in non-prevention’group,whereas no new fractures were detected in the prevention group.Neither Cobb angle nor vertebral compression rate showed significant change in the prevention group during the follow-up.However,in the non-prevention group,we found that Cobb angle increased and vertebral height lost significantly(P<0.05).Prophylactic vertebroplasty procedure applied with resorbable bone cement could decrease the rate of new fractures of sandwich vertebrae. | Pu Jia Hai Tang Hao Chen Li Bao Fei Feng He Yang Jinjun Li | 2017 | Regenerative Biomaterials2017,4,1: | 8 |
| 4 | Characterization and reactivity of biogenic manganese oxides for ciprofloxacin oxidation显示文摘Biogenic manganese oxides(BioMnOx) were synthesized by the oxidation of Mn(II) with Mnoxidizing bacteria Pseudomonas sp. G7 under different initial pH values and Mn(II) dosages, and were characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy. The crystal structure and Mn oxidation states of BioMnOx depended on the initial pH and Mn(II) dosages of the medium. The superoxide radical(O.-2) was observed in Mn-containing(III/IV) BioMnOxsuspensions by electron spin resonance measurements. BioMnOx(0.4)-7, with mixed valence of Mn(II/III/IV) and the strongest O.-2signals, was prepared in the initial pH 7 and Mn(II) dosage of 0.4 mmol/L condition, and exhibited the highest activity for ciprofloxacin degradation and no Mn(II) release. During the degradation of ciprofloxacin, the oxidation of the Mn(II) formed came from biotic and abiotic reactions in BioMnOx suspensions on the basis of the Mn(II) release and O.-2formation from different BioMnOx. | 7 | Numerical simulation of Gurney flap on SFYT15thick airfoil显示文摘A two-dimensional steady Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes(RANS) equation was solved to investigate the effects of a Gurney flap on SFYT15 thick airfoil aerodynamic performance. This airfoil was designed for flight vehicle operating at 20 km altitude with freestream velocity of 25 m/s. The chord length(C) is5 m and the Reynolds number based on chord length is Re = 7.76 × 105. Gurney flaps with the heights ranging from 0.25%C to 3%C were investigated. The shear stress transport(SST) k-ω turbulence model was used to simulate the flow structure around the airfoil. It is showed that Gurney flap can enhance not only the prestall lift but also lift-to-drag ratio in a certain range of angles of attack. Specially, at cruise angle of attack(α = 3°), Gurney flap with 0.5%C height can increase lift-to-drag ratio by 2.7%, and lift coefficient by 12.9%, respectively. Furthermore, the surface pressure distribution, streamlines and trailing-edge flow structure around the airfoil are illustrated, which are helpful to understand the mechanisms of Gurney flap on airfoil aerodynamic performance. | 9 | IGFBP7 regulates sepsis-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition through ERK1/2 signaling显示文摘The epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)process results in fibrosis of renal tubular epithelial cells and is of great importance in the development of acute kidney injury(AKI).Urinary IGF-binding protein-7(IGFBP7)was obviously increased in AKI and is considered to be a biomarker for AKI.However,whether it has an effect on the inhibition of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced EMT in human HK2 cells and on that of cecal ligation and puncture(CLP)-induced EMT in human HK2 cells and in mice remains to be elucidated.Western blot analysis was performed to examine the phosphorylation of ERK1/2 level and expressions of IGFBP7,ERK1/2,EMT markers,such as E-cadherin,α-SMA,and vimentin,and EMT regulatory factors,such as Snail,transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1),and connective tissue growth factor(CTGF).The levels of IGFBP7,TGF-β1,and CTGF were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Concentrations of creatinine(Cr),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),and albumin(ALB)were measured by biochemical analysis.Here,we found that LPS promoted EMT and ERK1/2 activation in HK2 cells,which were inhibited by silencing of IGFBP7.Furthermore,IGFBP7 overexpression significantly increased EMT and ERK1/2 activation in HK2 cells,which were inhibited by ERK1/2 signaling inhibitor PD98059.IGFBP7 knockdown effectively attenuated renal fibrosis,concentrations of Cr,BUN and ALB,and activation of ERK1/2 signaling in CLP-induced mice.These results suggest that inhibiting IGFBP7 can effectively protect the renal tubular epithelial cells from EMT induced by LPS or CLP both in vitro and in vivo,which may be associated with inactivation of ERK1/2 signaling. | Xiaolin Wang Yan Li Zhenzhen Zhao Yan Meng Jinjun Bian Rui Bao Kaimin Zhu Tao Yang | 2019 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,8: | 3 |

Specially, distinguished from some other numerical researches, the flow details such as the laminar separation bubble and transition phenomena for low Reynolds number airfoil with Gurney flaps were investigated and it was found that Gurney flaps can delay the transition onset position at small angles of attack(≤2°). | 11 | Surface composites fabricated by vacuum infiltration casting technique显示文摘Alumina (Al2O3) particles reinforced copper matrix surface composites were fabricated on the bronze substrate using the vacuum infiltration casting technique. Three cases were obtained in the vacuum infiltration casting technique: no infiltration, partial infiltration and full infiltration (the thickness of preforms do not exceed 3.5 mm). The reason of no infiltration is that the vacuum degree is not enough so that the force acting on the liquid metal is lower than the resistance due to the surface tension. Partial infil- tration is because of somewhat lower vacuum degree and pouring temperature. Full desired infiltration is on account of suitable in- filtration casting conditions, such as vacuum degree, pouring temperature, grain size and preheating temperature of the preform. The most important factor of affecting formation of surface composites is the vacuum degree, then pouring temperature and particle size. The infiltration mechanism was discussed on the bases of different processing conditions. | 19 | Effect of aqueous extract of Sanweitanxiang powder on calcium homeostasis protein expression in ischemic-reperfusion injury rat heart显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the underlying mechanism of reduced myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats using the traditionalTibetan medicine Sanweitanxiang powder (SWTX). METHODS: Rats were randomly divided into six groups (n=10) as follows: (a) propranolol dinitrate control group, given propranolol dinitrate 0.02 g/kg for 10 days before I/R, (b) SWTX with a high dose group, given SWTX 1.5 g/kg for 10 days before I/R, (c) SWTX with a medium dose group, given SWTX 1.25 g/kg for 10 days before I/R, (d) sham group (Sham), in which the rat heart was exposed by pericardiotomy but without I/R, (e) SWTX with a low dose group, given SWTX 1.0 g/kg for 10 days before I/R, and (f) I/R injury group. Rats were intragastrically pretreated with propranolol dinitrate orSWTX. After that, the operation to cause ischemia and reperfusion was conducted.The histopathologic changes of rat hearts were observed by hematoxylin and eosin staining and transmission electron microscopy. Ca2+ homeostasis protein expression was determined by western blot. RESULTS: After SWTX pretreatment, the development of ultrastructural pathological changes from IR injury was attenuated. A decrease in the expression of B-cell lymphoma 2 associated X protein, and an increase in the expression of B-cell lymphoma 2 were observed. An increased activation of extracellular signal regulated kinases were found. Compared with the sham group, the expression of sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium-ATPase, phospholamban, and calsequestrin were all up-regulated after pretreatment with SWTX.
