| 2 | Effect of Wuziyanzong Pill on sperm quality and calcium ion content in oligoasthenospermia rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of Wuziyanzong treatment on the sperm quality and content of calcium ions(Ca 2+) in oligoasthenospermia rats.METHODS:A model of oligoasthenospermia was induced in 50 Sprague Dawley rats by treatment with tripterygium glycosides at 30 mg/kg per day for 8 weeks.They were divided randomly into a model group,a positive group(Huangjingzanyu capsule,3.01 g/kg),and low,medium and high dose Wuziyanzong treatment groups(2.30,4.60,9.20 g/kg crude drug respectively) with 10 in each group.Another 10 rats were used as a control group.The rats in the control and model groups were administered distilled water,while the rats in the remaining groups were administered Wuziyanzong for 30 d.The epididymides were removed,spermatozoa recovered and the sperm density and viability were measured.The spermatozoa were purified and the contents of Ca 2+ in the cytoplasm and mitochondria were detected by flow cytometry and atomic absorption spectrometry,respectively.RESULTS:After 8 weeks of treatment with tripterygium glycosides,the sperm density,sperm activity and the Ca 2 + content of spermatozoa in the model rats were all significantly decreased compared with the control group(all P<0.05).After 30 d treatment,the sperm density and activity improved and the Ca 2 + content of sperm were increased significantly in the medium and high dose Wuziyanzong treatment groups in comparison with the model group(all P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The Wuziyanzong treatment increased sperm density,improved sperm viability and enhanced the content of Ca 2+ in the sperm cytoplasm and mitochondria in this rat model of oligoasthenospermia. | Tongsheng Wang Jinling Huang Deling Wu Qing Li Xiangguo Liu Han Chen Lei Qiao Dongdong Li Jun Li | 2012 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4: | 11 |

| 12 | Neuronal differentiation effects of vascular endothelial factor on bone marrow stromal cells显示文摘BACKGROUND:Studies have demonstrated that bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) undergo neuronal differentiation under certain in vitro conditions.However,very few inducers of BMSC differentiation have been used in clinical application.The effects of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) on in vitro neuronal differentiation of BMSCs remain poorly understood.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of VEGF on neuronal differentiation of BMSCs in vitro,and to determine the best VEGF concentration for experimental induction.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:In vitro comparative study was performed at the Central Laboratory and Laboratory of Male Reproductive Medicine,Shenzhen Hospital of Peking University from October 2008 to August 2009.MATERIALS:Recombinant human VEGF165 was purchased from Peprotech Asia,Rehovot,Israel.Neuron-specific enolase (NSE) was purchased from Beijing Biosynthesis Biotechnology,China.METHODS:BMSCs were harvested from adult Sprague Dawley rats.The passaged cells were pre-induced with 10 ng/mL basic fibroblast growth factor for 24 hours,followed by differentiation induction with 0,5,10,and 20 ng/mL VEGF,respectively.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Morphological changes in BMSCs prior to and following VEGF induction.Expression of NSE following induction was determined by immunocytochemistry.RESULTS:Shrunken,round cells,with a strong refraction and thin bipolar or multipolar primary and secondary branches were observed 3 days after induction with 5,10,and 20 ng/mL VEGF.However,these changes were not observed in the control group.At 10 days after induction,the number of NSE-positive cells was greatest in the 10 ng/mL VEGF-treated group (P < 0.05).The number of NSE-positive cells was least in the control group at 3 and 10 days post-induction (P < 0.05).Moreover,the number of NSE-positive cells was greater at 10 days compared with at 3 days after induction (P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:Of the VEGF concentrations tested,10 ng/mL induced the greatest number of neuronal-like cells in vitro from BMSCs. | Li Yi Qiaoyun Liu Jinling Han Jing Ye Fangting Zhang Guanghui Cui Zhuqing Zhou | 2010 | Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,9: | 1 |

| 15 | GENERATION OF TRANSGENIC MICE FOR IN VIVO DETECTION OF INSULIN-CONTAINING GRANULE EXOCYTOSIS AND QUANTIFICATION OF INSULIN SECRETION显示文摘Insulin secretion is a complex and highly regulated process.Although much progress has been made in understanding the cellular mechanisms of insulin secretion and regulation,it remains unclear how conclusions from these studies apply to living animals.That few studies have been done to address these issues is largely due to the lack of suitable tools in detecting secretory events at high spatial and temporal resolution in vivo.When combined with genetically encoded biosensor,optical imaging is a powerful tool for visualization of molecular events in vivo.In this study,we generated a DNA construct encoding a secretory granule resident protein that is linked with two spectrally separate fluorescent proteins,a highly pH-sensitive green pHluorin on the intra-granular side and a red mCherry in the cytosol.Upon exocytosis of secretory granules,the dim pHluorin inside the acidic secretory granules became highly fluorescent outside the cells at neutral pH,while mCherry fluorescence remained constant in the process,thus allowing ratiometric quantification of insulin secretory events.Furthermore,mCherry fluorescence enabled tracking the movement of secretory granules in living cells.We validated this approach in insulin-secreting cells,and generated a transgenic mouse line expressing the optical sensor specifically in pancreaticβ-cells.The transgenic mice will be a useful tool for future investigations of molecular mechanism of insulin secretion in vitro and in vivo. | JINLING LU NATALIA GUSTAVSSON QIMING LI GEORGE KRADDA THOMAS C.SUUDHOF WEIPING HAN | 2009 | Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2009,2,4: | 0 |

| 17 | Effects of nitrogen fertilizer on root-shoot characteristics,grain yield and nitrogen use efficiency of different maize varieties in North China Plain显示文摘Excessive nitrogen(N)fertilizer application in crop production has resulted in a series of environmental issues in North China Plain(NCP).Breeding N-efficient maize varieties is one of the effective strategies to improve the N use efficiency of maize and reduce environmental pollution.This study designed an experiment for two maize varieties(‘Xian-Yu 335’[XY335]and‘Hua-Nong 138’[HN138])with three N-level treatments(0 kg/hm^(2),180 kg/hm^(2),300 kg/hm^(2),i.e.N0,N180,N300).The aim of the study was to determine the response characteristics of maize canopy structure,root morphology,and anatomical structure,as well as N uptake and utilization of N fertilizer.Results showed that grain yield,N use efficiency,and N harvest index of XY335 were higher 5.20%-13.68%,11.86%-19.11%,and 6.07%-3.33%than those of HN138,respectively.Compared with HN138,XY335 had a higher leaf area index and photosynthetic nitrogen-use efficiency.The root length,root length density,root absorption area,root absorption area,and root active absorption area of XY335 in each period were higher than that of HN138.The proportion of RCA of XY335 was significantly higher than that of HN138,which was 14.64%higher on average.In the future breeding process,the high N and low N double-high-efficiency varieties should pay more attention to the improvement of root cortex aeration tissue. | Xiangling Li Liu Pan Rui Wang Yiping Zuo Jian Wang Jinling Han Yuechen Zhang Baozhong Yin | 2022 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,5: | 0 |

| 20 | Coking and decoking chemistry for resource utilization of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and low-carbon process显示文摘Low-carbon process for resource utilization of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)in zeolitecatalyzed processes,geared to carbon neutrality-a prominent trend throughout human activities,has been bottlenecked by the lack of a complete mechanistic understanding of coking and decoking chemistry,involving the speciation and molecular evolution of PAHs,the plethora of which causes catalyst deactivation and forces regeneration,rendering significant CO_(2) emission.Herein,by exploiting the high-resolution matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization Fourier-transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry(MALDI FT-ICR MS),we unveil the missing fingerprints of the mechanistic pathways for both formation and decomposition of cross-linked cage-passing PAHs for SAPO-34-catalyzed,industrially relevant methanol-to-olefins(MTO)as a model reaction.Notable is the molecule-resolved symmetrical signature:their speciation originates exclusively from the direct coupling of in-cage hydrocarbon pool(HCP)species,whereas water-promoted decomposition of cage-passing PAHs initiates with selective cracking of inter-cage local structures at 8-rings followed by deep aromatic steam reforming.Molecular deciphering the reversibly dynamic evolution trajectory(fate)of full-spectrum aromatic hydrocarbons and fulfilling the real-time quantitative carbon resource footprints advance the fundamental knowledge of deactivation and regeneration phenomena(decay and recovery motifs of autocatalysis)and disclose the underlying mechanisms of especially the chemistry of coking and decoking in zeolite catalysis.The positive yet divergent roles of water in these two processes are disentangled.These unprecedented insights ultimately lead us to a steam regeneration strategy with valuable CO and H_(2) as main products,negligible CO_(2) emission in steam reforming and full catalyst activity recovery,which further proves feasible in other important chemical processes,promising to be a sustainable and potent approach that contributes to carbon-neutral chemical industry. | Nan Wang Li Wang Yuchun Zhi Jingfeng Han Chengwei Zhang Xinqiang Wu Jinling Zhang Linying Wang Benhan Fan Shutao Xu Yijun Zheng Shanfan Lin Renan Wu Yingxu Wei Zhongmin Liu | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,1: | 0 |
