1Development and Preliminary Evaluation of a Double-cell Ozonesonde显示文摘Ozonesondes are widely used to obtain ozone concentration profiles from the surface to the upper atmosphere. A kind of double-cell ozonesonde has been developed at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics(IAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences(named the 'IAP ozonesonde') based on previous experience over the past 20 years of developing the singlecell GPSO3 ozonesonde. The IAP ozonesonde is of the Electrochemical Concentration Cell(ECC) type. A detailed description of the IAP ozonesonde is firstly provided in the present paper, followed by a presentation of results from a series of launches carried out to evaluate its performance. The analysis involved comparing its observations with measurements from the GPSO3 and ECC ozonesondes(Model type ENSCI-Z) as well as a Brewer spectrophotometer. The results showed that the IAP ozonesonde is a vast improvement over the GPSO3 ozonesonde, able to capture vertical ozone structures very well and in good agreement with ECC ozonesonde measurements. The average difference in the ozone partial pressure between the IAP and ECC ozonesondes was 0.3 mPa from the surface to 2.5 km, close to zero from 2.5 to 9 km and generally less than 1 mPa for layers higher than 9 km. The apparent deviation is likely caused by a decreasing pump flow rate in the IAP ozonesonde which needs further improvement. The total ozone amounts measured by the IAP ozonesonde profiles were highly comparable with the Brewer data with a relative difference of 6%. 2Comparison of Clinical and Epidemiological Characteristics of Asymptomatic and Symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 Infection in Children显示文摘To understand the epidemiological and clinical features of the symptomatic and asymptomatic pediatric cases of COVID-19,we carried out a prospective study in Shanghai during the period of January 19 to April 30,2020.A total of 49 children(mean age 11.5±5.12 years)confirmed with SARS-CoV-2 infection were enrolled in the study,including 11(22.4%)domestic cases and 38(77.6%)imported cases.Nine(81.8%)local cases and 12(31.6%)imported cases had a definitive epidemiological exposure.Twenty-eight(57.1%)were symptomatic and 21(42.9%)were asymptomatic.Neither asymptomatic nor symptomatic cases progressed to severe diseases.The mean duration of viral shedding for SARS-CoV-2 in upper respiratory tract was 14.1±6.4 days in asymptomatic cases and 14.8±8.4 days in symptomatic cases(P>0.05).Forty-five(91.8%)cases had viral RNA detected in stool.The mean duration of viral shedding in stool was 28.1±13.3 days in asymptomatic cases and 30.8±18.6 days in symptomatic participants(P>0.05).Children<7 years shed viral RNA in stool for a longer duration than school-aged children(P<0.05).Forty-three(87.8%)cases had seropositivity for antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 within 1–3 weeks after confirmation with infection.In conclusion,asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection may be common in children in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic wave.Asymptomatic cases shed viral RNA in a similar pattern as symptomatic cases do.It is of particular concern that asymptomatic individuals are potentially seed transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and pose a challenge to disease control.Jiehao Cai Xiangshi Wang Jun Zhao Yanling Ge Jin Xu He Tian Hailing Chang Aimei Xia Jiali Wang Jinqiang Zhang Zhongqiu Wei Jingjing Li Chuning Wang Jianshe Wang Qirong Zhu Xiaowen Zhai Mei Zeng 2020Virologica Sinica2020,35,6:4
3Perspectives on the management of synthetic biological and gene edited foods显示文摘Synthetic biology,gene editing and transgene technologies that involving gene manipulation are widely used in food research and development.In recent decades,China has formulatedmany policies and regulations to govern the safety of genetically modified agricultural organisms.Based on the comparative analysis of technical connotations on synthetic biology,gene editing and transgenes and related risksregarding the safety of food,environment and the management of genetically modified agricultural organisms,this paper puts forward the following suggestions on 1)management of synthetic biological and gene-edited foods(in this paper,“food”refers to“edible agricultural products and food”),2)promoting the gradual process of industrialization on gene-edited and synthetic biological foods through lessons learned from the practice on genetically modified crops,3)speeding up the industrialization of gene-edited foods and prudently promoting the application of synthetic biological foods,4)urgently establishing and updating policies and regulations related to gene-edited and synthetic biological foods,5)unifying the legislation and supervision of synthetic biological,gene-edited and genetically modified foods 6)establishing ethical principles and bottom lines for genetically manipulated foods.Rui He Qin Cao Jiejun Chen Jinqiang Tian 2020Biosafety and Health2020,2,4:1

8Numerical Simulation Study on the Effect of Horizontal Well Reservoir Stimulation for Gas Hydrate Production显示文摘A new gas hydrate reservoir stimulation method of in-situ fracturing with transient heating is proposed, in line with analysis of the technological bottlenecks faced by marine gas hydrate production. This method injects the developed chemical reagents into a hydrate reservoir through hydraulic fracturing, releasing heat during the chemical reaction to increase the hydrate decomposition rate. The chemical reaction product furthermore has a honeycomb structure to support fractures and increase reservoir permeability. Based on the geological model of natural gas hydrate in the South China Sea, three development methods are simulated to evaluate hydrate production capacity, consisting of horizontal well, fractured horizontal well and in-situ fracturing with transient heating well. Compared with the horizontal well, the simulation results show that the cumulative gas production of the fractured horizontal well in one year is 7 times that of the horizontal well, while the cumulative gas production of in-situ fracturing with transient heating well is 12 times that of the horizontal well, which significantly improves daily efficiency and cumulative gas production. In addition, the variation patterns of hydrate saturation and temperature-pressure fields with production time for the three exploitation plans are presented, it being found that three sensitive parameters of fracture conductivity, fracture half-length and fracture number are positively correlated with hydrate production enhancement. 9Dolomite reservoir formation and diagenesis evolution of the Upper Ediacaran Qigebrak Formation in the Tabei area,Tarim Basin显示文摘Ancient dolomite reservoirs play an increasingly important role in deep oil and gas exploration.The mechanism of formation and preservation of dolomite reservoirs is complex,which is always the key issue.With the discovery of deep oil and gas in the Ediacaran dolomites of the world,the upper Ediacaran Qigebrak Formation in the Tabei area has begun to attract attention,but its reservoir space difference and formation mechanism have yet to be clarified.Based on ultra-deep drilling cores and field outcrops in the Tabei area,the lithofacies,reservoir space,and formation mechanism are systematically analyzed by macro to micro,and qualitative to quantitative petrology:(1)The types of dolomite can be divided into five major categories,including microbial dolomite,granular dolomite,residual granular dolomite,crystalline dolomite and karst breccias.(2)The main types of reservoir space are microbial-framework pores,microbial-mold pores,and non-fabric selective dissolution pores.Spongiomicrobialite,karst breccias,and fine-grained dolomite are the dominant reservoir rock types.(3)High-frequency sedimentary cycles and meteoric dissolution are the key factors of reservoir formation.Two sets of large-scale reservoirs are present:the first set is mainly controlled by the supergene karst of the Keping movement,and the second set is mainly controlled by high-frequency sedimentary cycles in the penecontemporaneous period.The reservoirs formed at the shallow burial stage and were preserved until the deep burial stage.(4)The quality of a deep reservoir depends on the geological events that affect the processes of pore reduction and increase.Cementation,compaction and pressure solution are the main destructive diagenetic processes;however,the reservoir space can still be effectively preserved under the influence of constructive diagenetic processes,such as meteoric dissolution and early dolomitization.This research has important theoretical and practical significance for revealing the formation mechanism of upper Ediacaran deep dolomite reservoirs in the Tarim Basin.Xudong CHEN Qilu XU Fang HAO Yongquan CHEN Yan YI Fangjie HU Xiaoxue WANG Jinqiang TIAN Guangwei WANG 2023Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,10:0
