| 1 | Regulation of salt and ABA responses by CIPK14, a calcium sensor interacting protein kinase in Arabidopsis显示文摘Calcium and protein kinase serve as the common mediators to regulate plant responses to multiple stresses including salt and ABA stimulus. Here we reported a novel protein kinase (CIPK14) that regulated the responses to ABA treatment and salt stress in Arabidopsis. CIPK14 transcripts, capable been checked in roots, stems, leaves and flowers, were highly expressed in flowers and roots. CIPK14 was induced by ABA and salt treatments. The disruption of CIPK14 altered the transcriptional pattern of a gene marker line related to ABA and salt responses, and the results suggested that CIPK14 probably was responsible to the control of the salt and ABA responses. Comparing with wild types, the lines inserted with the T-DNA in which CIPK14 gene expression was knocked out were also more sensitive to ABA and salt stimulus, showing low germination rate and the less root elongation. While, when these conditioned seeds were treated with norflurazon, their germination percentages could recover to a certain extent. | 2 | Western medication plus Traditional Chinese Medicine preparations in patients with chronic heart failure:a prospective,single-blind,randomized,controlled,and multicenter clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy and safety in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF) of Western medication plus Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) preparations.METHODS: This prospective, single-blind, randomized, controlled, and multicenter clinical trial began on September 17, 2008, and was completed on June 25, 2011. A total of 340 inpatients, aged 40-79 years, with exacerbating CHF from 10 hospitals were enrolled and randomly allocated within 24 h of admission. The trial included three intervention periods. During hospitalization, the control group received western medication for CHF and the treatment group received Danhong injection with Shenfu injection or Shenmai injection. After discharge,all patients were treated with Qiliqiangxin capsules and Buyiqiangxin tablets or a placebo for 6 months. After the 6-month intervention, both groups received only continuous western medication. The primary endpoint was all-cause mortality.The efficacy assessments were as follows: B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP), Lee's HF score, the 6-minute walking test(6 MWT), left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF), and the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire(MLHFQ). The safety assessments were as follows: blood and urine routine examination, hepatic and renal function, electrolytes in blood and adverse events.RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the treatment group showed a 30.99% reduction in all-cause mortality and an improved survival rate.The treatment group showed greater improvement in 6 MWT(P = 0.02) than the control group on discharge, after 12-month follow-up, there was a time-group interaction for MLHFQ(P = 0.03). | 3 | Conservation for the landscape ecological diversity in Wulingyuan scenic area of China显示文摘Wulingyuan is located at the mountainous area of the middle reach of the Yangtze River, it is one of the three nature heritages in China which ranks in the “List of World’s Heritage” by UNESCO. It is characterized by quartz sandstone peaks landform with several landform components(pattern, corridor) and rich in landscape ecological diversity and biodiversity. The main patterns(ecosystem) include mid-height mountain peaks, rift-valley and streams among peaks, peaks and gullies on slopes, square mountain-platforms and peaks among blind valleys and so on. The corridor system consists of natural corridors and artificial corridors among which the stream corridors account for a major part. The fracturing of habitat is unfavorable for the biodiversity conservation, but meanwhile the habitat diversity leads to an increase in biodiversity. Therefore, it is still rich in landscape ecological diversity in Wulingyuan. | 4 | Preparation of TiO_2/activated carbon with Fe ions doping photocatalyst and its application to photocatalytic degradation of reactive brilliant red K2G显示文摘Titanium dioxide coated on activated carbon(AC) with Fe ions doping(Fe-TiO2/AC) composite was prepared by an improved sol-gel method.The photocatalytic activities were tested by photocatalytic degradation of reactive brilliant red K2G in solution.The results show that in comparison with the agglomeration of pure TiO2,the TiO2 nanoparticles are well dispersed in the AC matrix,of which sizes are decreased with Fe ions doping.Additionally,the iron species on TiO2 of composite are Fe2O3 and FeO,which do not affect the crystalline structures of TiO2 nanoparticles.The AC matrix and iron doping content influence the fluorescence intensity of composite due to their effects on recombination probability of hole-electron pairs.Compared with TiO2,0.3% Fe-TiO2,TiO2/AC,0.5% Fe-TiO2/AC and 0.1% Fe-TiO2/AC,the 0.3% Fe-TiO2/AC shows the highest photoactivity with the complete mineralization of K2G for finite time due to the optimum Fe ions content and AC matrix.Furthermore,the kinetic constant(k=0.0229 min-1) of 0.3% Fe-TiO2/AC composite is more than the sum of both TiO2/AC(0.0154 min-1) and 0.3% Fe-TiO2(0.0057 min-1) because coexistence of the AC and Fe ions has an enlarging effect on improving the photoactivity of TiO2. | LI YouJi,LI Jing,MA MingYuan,OUYANG YuZhu & YAN WenBin College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering,Jishou University,Jishou 416000,China | 2009 | Science China Chemistry2009,52,8: | 4 |

| 6 | Preparation and photocatalytic activity of TiO_2-coated granular activated carbon composites by a molecular adsorption-deposition method显示文摘TiO2 nanoparticle-coated granular activated carbon (GAC) composite photocatalysts (CPs) were suc-cessfully prepared by a molecular adsorption-deposition (MAD) method. The CPs were detected by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), BET surface area and UV-Vis adsorption spectroscopy, and their photoactivity was evaluated by methyl orange (MO) photodegradation. The results show that small-sized TiO2 nanoparticles were dispersed well, deposited on the surface of GAC, and showed slight blue shift in comparison with pure TiO2. With the increase in TiO2 content, the CPs showed band gaps in lower energy, smaller surface areas and the higher content of Ti3+ ions. Compared with pure TiO2 and others CPs samples, CPs-382 sample showed the highest photoactivity due to the optimum TiO2 content and surface area besides the synergic effect of photocatalytic degradation of TiO2 and adsorptive property of GAC. | 7 | An improved network layer protocol based on mobile IPv6显示文摘The mobile IPv6 proposed by the IETF aims at providing mobility support on the next generation Internet. First, the authors described the basic principle of mobile IPv6 in brief and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of it, presented a new idea of allocating a specific address space for mobile node (MN) and developed a new extension header and two ICMP message types for mobile IPv6. Lastly the authors proposed an optimization strategy for mobile IPv6 based on these extensions of protocol, which has the following advantages: 1) It is more convenient to manage the MNs because MN can be judged from its IP address; 2) When the correspondent node (CN) is not actively communicating with a MN, the MN and its home agent (HA) need not send Binding Update to the CN, and the CN need not send Binding Request to the MN. Only when the CN really wants to send a packet to the MN, will the CN voluntarily send a MN Discovery Request message to acquire the MN′s care of address. In this way,the transmission of Binding Update and Binding Request is greatly reduced, consequently the network overhead is also decreased; 3) While sending packets, the CN simply uses a MN Home Address Extension Header without using IPinIP encapsulation and routing header, which can reduce the redundant information in the packet and the message delay; 4) All the packets sent by the CN can be directly routed to the MN and the triangle routing can be completely avoided. | 8 | Fabrication,property characterization and toughening mechanism of HA-ZrO_2(CaO)/316L fibre composite biomaterials显示文摘HA-ZrO2(CaO)/316L fibre composites were successfully fabricated with vacuum sintering method and their properties and toughening mechanism were studied. The results showed that HA-ZrO2(CaO)/316L fibre biocomposite having 20 vol% fibres had optimal comprehensive properties with bending strength, Young's modulus, fracture toughness and relative density equal to 140.1 MPa, 117.8 GPa, 5.81 MPa·m1/2 and 87.1%, respectively. The research also addressed that different volume ratios of the composites led to different metallographic microstructures, and that metallographic morphologies change regularly with volume ratios of the composites. 316L fibres were distributed randomly and evenly in the composites and the integration circumstance of the two phases was very well since there were no obvious flaws or pores in the composites.
