1Combined obeticholic acid and apoptosis inhibitor treatment alleviates liver fibrosis显示文摘Obeticholic acid(OCA), the first FXR-targeting drug, has been claimed effective in the therapy of liver fibrosis. However, recent clinical trials indicated that OCA might not be effective against liver fibrosis, possibly due to the lower dosage to reduce the incidence of the side-effect of pruritus. Here we propose a combinatory therapeutic strategy of OCA and apoptosis inhibitor for combating against liver fibrosis. CCl4-injured mice, D-galactosamine/LPS(GalN/LPS)-treated mice and cycloheximide/TNFα(CHX/TNFα)-treated HepG2 cells were employed to assess the effects of OCA, or together with IDN-6556, an apoptosis inhibitor. OCA treatment significantly inhibited hepatic stellate cell(HSC)activation/proliferation and prevented fibrosis. Elevated bile acid(BA) levels and hepatocyte apoptosis triggered the activation and proliferation of HSCs. OCA treatment reduced BA levels but could not inhibit hepatocellular apoptosis. An enhanced anti-fibrotic effect was observed when OCA was co-administrated with IDN-6556. Our study demonstrated that OCA inhibits HSCs activation/proliferation partially by regulating BA homeostasis and thereby inhibiting activation of HSCs. 2Efficient Splitting of Trans-/Cis-Olefins Using an Anion-Pillared Ultramicroporous Metal-Organic Framework with Guest-Adaptive Pore Channels显示文摘Trans-/cis-olefin isomers play a vital role in the petrochemical industry.The paucity of energy-efficient technologies for their splitting is mainly due to the similarities of their physicochemical properties.Herein,two new tailor-made anion-pillared ultramicroporous metal–organic frameworks(MOFs),ZU-36-Ni and ZU-36-Fe(GeFSIX-3-Ni and GeFSIX-3-Fe)are reported for the first time for the efficient trans-/cis-2-butene(trans-/cis-C_(4)H_(8))mixture splitting by enhanced molecular exclusion.Notably,ZU-36-Ni unexpectedly exhibited smart guest-adaptive pore channels for trapping trans-C_(4)H_(8)with a remarkable adsorption capacity(2.45 mmol∙g^(−1))while effectively rejecting cis-C_(4)H_(8)with a high purity of 99.99%.The dispersion-corrected density functional theory(DFT-D)calculation suggested that the guest-adaptive behavior of ZU-36-Ni in response to trans-C_(4)H_(8)is derived from the organic linker rotation and the optimal pore dimensions,which not only improve the favorable adsorption/diffusion of trans-C_(4)H_(8)with optimal host–guest interactions,but also enhance the size-exclusion of cis-C_(4)H_(8).This work opens a new avenue for pore engineering in advanced smart or adaptive porous materials for specific applications involving guest molecular recognition.Zhaoqiang Zhang Xili Cui Xiaoming Jiang Qi Ding Jiyu Cui Yuanbin Zhang Youssef Belmabkhout Karim Adil Mohamed Eddaoudi Huabin Xing 2022Engineering2022,8,4:1
3Preventive effect of kiwi berry(Actinidia arguta)on loperamide-induced constipation显示文摘Constipation is a common intestinal disease.Kiwi berries can effectively prevent constipation.However,studies have yet to be done to determine how kiwi berries prevent constipation.For two weeks,mice in this study were continually orally gavaged with kiwi berry,loperamide,or a combination of the 2.This study found that the kiwi group's feces had more water than the constipated mice.In addition,kiwi berries can speed up gastrointestinal transit(GI),shorten the time it takes to pass the first dark stool,and dramatically enhance body weight gain.In the interstitial cells of Caj al(ICC)cells and colon tissues,alterations in the protein expression of vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP),cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP),protein kinase A(PKA),and aquapcrin-3(AQP3)were found.At 3,6,and 12 h of ICC cells and mouse colon,the kiwi group's VIP,cAMP,PKA,and AQP3 protein expression levels were lower than those of the constipated mice.The kiwi berry can decrease the Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes ratio and boost the diversity and quantity of gut microbiota.By influencing the gut microbiota and VIP-cAMP-PKA-AQP3 signaling pathway,kiwi berries prevent constipation.Jiyue Zhang Bin Li Ningxuan Gao Haikun Li Xingyue Cui Hanqian Jiang Siyi Tang Chenyu Jin Jinlong Tian 2024Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,3:0
4Efficient separation of C_(4) olefins using tantalum pentafluor oxide anion-pillared hybrid microporous material显示文摘With the increasing demand for synthetic rubber,the purification of 1,3-butadiene(C_(4)H_(6))is of great industrial significance.Herein,the successful removal of n-butene(n-C_(4)H_(8))and iso-butene(iso-C_(4)H_(8))from 1,3-butadiene(C_(4)H_(6))was realized by synthesizing a novel TaOF_(5)^(2-) anion-pillared ultramicroporous material TaOFFIVE-3-Ni(also referred to as ZU-96,TaOFFIVE=TaOF_(5)^(2-),3=pyrazine).Single-component adsorption isotherms show that TaOFFIVE-3-Ni can achieve the exclusion of n-C_(4)H_(8) and iso-C_(4)H_(8) in the low pressure region(0–30 kPa),and uptake C_(4)H_(6) with a high capacity of 92.78 cm^(3)·cm^(-3)(298 K and 100 kPa).The uptake ratio of C_(4)H_(6)/iso-C_(4)H_(8) on TaOFFIVE-3-Ni was 20.83(298 K and 100 kPa),which was the highest among the state-of-the-art adsorbents reported so far.With the rotation of anion and pyrazine ring,the pore size changes continuously,which makes smaller-size C_(4)H_(6) enter the channel while larger-size n-C_(4)H_(8) and iso-C_(4)H_(8) are completely blocked.The excellent breakthrough performance of TaOFFIVE-3-Ni shows great potential in industrial separation of C4 olefins.The specific adsorption binding sites within ZU-96 was further revealed through the modeling calculation.Bin Gao Zhaoqiang Zhang Jianbo Hu Jiyu Cui Liyuan Chen Xili Cui Huabin Xing 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,2:0
5Efficient acetylene/carbon dioxide separation with excellent dynamic capacity and low regeneration energy by anion-pillared hybrid materials显示文摘Adsorptive separation of acetylene/carbon dioxide mixtures by porous materials is an important and challenging task due to their similar sizes and physical properties.Here,remarkable acetylene/carbon dioxide separation featuring a high dynamic breakthrough capacity for acetylene(4.3 mmol·g^(–1))as well as an ultralow acetylene regeneration energy(29.5 kJ·mol^(–1))was achieved with the novel TiF_(6)^(2–)-pillared material ZU-100(TIFSIX-bpy-Ni).Construction of a pore structure with abundant TiF_(6)^(2–)anion sites and pores with appropriate sizes enabled formation of acetylene clusters through hydrogen bonds and intermolecular interactions,which afforded a high acetylene capacity(8.3 mmol·g^(–1))and high acetylene/carbon dioxide uptake ratio(1.9)at 298 K and 1 bar.Moreover,the NbO_(5)^(2–)anion-pillared material ZU-61 investigated for separation of acetylene/carbon dioxide.In addition,breakthrough experiments were also conducted to further confirm the excellent dynamic acetylene/carbon dioxide separation performance of ZU-100.Yijian Li Jianbo Hu Jiyu Cui Qingju Wang Huabin Xing Xili Cui 2022Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2022,16,11:0
6Effects of self-healing biomimetic subsoiler on tillage resistance, wearcorrosion performance and soil disturbance morphology under different soil types显示文摘Subsoiling has been widely used all over the world as an important operation method of no-tillage farming.For energy-saving and life-extension,the tillage resistance and wear-corrosion of subsoilers have attracted wide attention.In this study,the tillage resistance,soil disturbance,wear and corrosion of subsoiler with S-T-SK-2#biomimetic structures(S means subsoiler;T means tine;SK means shank;2#,h/s=0.57,h=5 mm andα=45°.)and self-healing coating under two seasons,two locations with different soil properties(black loam and clay soil)and subsoiling speeds(2 km/h and 3.6 km/h)were investigated.The soil moisture content and compactness affected the tillage resistance and wear-corrosion.The tillage resistance and degree of corrosion on all subsoilers were much larger in clay soil than that in black loam soil.Compared with S-T-SK-2#,the tillage reduction rate of C-S-T-SK-2#(S-T-SK-2#with self-healing coating)was up to 14.32%in clay soil under the speed of 2 km/h.The significance tests of regression equation results showed that subsoiler type and soil properties had a significant impact on soil disturbance coefficient,swelling of total soil layer,bulkiness of the plough pan.It is of a guiding significance for the analysis of soil disturbance.Synergism mechanism of subsoiler coupling with biomimetic structures and self-healing coating was analyzed in following.It depicted the guiding effect of biomimetic structure and the shield function of self-healing coating,resulting in anticorrosion and wear resistance of subsoiler.Yueming Wang Chenjie Lu Jing Chen Chenhuan Cui Yijie Pan Wilhelm Pfleging Jiyu Sun 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,3:0
7Driving forces for ultrafast laser-induced sp^(2) to sp^(3) structural transformation in graphite显示文摘Understanding the microscopic mechanism of photoinduced sp^(2)-to-sp^(3) structural transformation in graphite is a scientific challenge with great importance.Here,the ultrafast dynamics and characteristics of laser-induced structural transformation in graphite are revealed by non-adiabatic quantum dynamic simulations.Under laser irradiation,graphite undergoes an interlayer compression and sliding stage,followed by a key period of intralayer buckling and interlayer bonding to form an intermediate sp^(2)-sp^(3) hybrid structure,before completing the full transformation to hexagonal diamond.The process is driven by the cooperation of charge carrier multiplication and selective phonon excitations through electron-phonon interactions,in which photoexcited hot electrons scattered into unoccupied high-energy conduction bands play a key role in the introduction of in-plane instability in graphite.This work identifies a photoinduced non-adiabatic transition pathway from graphite to diamond and shows far-reaching implications for designing optically controlled structural phase transition in materials.Chenchen Song Mengxue Guan Yunzhe Jia Daqiang Chen Jiyu Xu Cui Zhang Sheng Meng 2023npj Computational Materials2023,,1:0
