1Crustal and upper mantle structure and deep tectonic genesis of large earthquakes in North China显示文摘From the 1960 s to 1970 s, North China has been hit by a series of large earthquakes. During the past half century,geophysicists have carried out numerous surveys of the crustal and upper mantle structure, and associated studies in North China.They have made significant progress on several key issues in the geosciences, such as the crustal and upper mantle structure and the seismogenic environment of strong earthquakes. Deep seismic profiling results indicate a complex tectonic setting in the strong earthquake areas of North China, where a listric normal fault and a low-angle detachment in the upper crust coexist with a high-angle deep fault passing through the lower crust to the Moho beneath the hypocenter. Seismic tomography images reveal that most of the large earthquakes occurred in the transition between the high-and low-velocity zones, and the Tangshan earthquake area is characterized by a low-velocity anomaly in the middle-lower crust. Comprehensive analysis of geophysical data identified that the deep seismogenic environment in the North China extensional tectonic region is generally characterized by a low-velocity anomalous belt beneath the hypocenter, inconsistency of the deep and shallow structures in the crust, a steep crustalal-scale fault,relative lower velocities in the uppermost mantle, and local Moho uplift, etc. This indicates that the lithospheric structure of North China has strong heterogeneities. Geologically, the North China region had been a stable craton named the North China Craton or in brief the NCC, containing crustal rocks as old as ~3.8 Ga. The present-day strong seismic activity and the lower velocity of the lower crust in the NCC are much different from typical stable cratons around the world. These findings provide significant evidence for the destruction of the NCC. 2Basic Features of the Crustal Structure in the Lower Yangtze and Its Neighboring Area in the Chinese Mainland: Review of Deep Seismic Sounding Research显示文摘The Deep Seismic Sounding( DSS) projects carried out from the 1970 s in the lower Yangtze region and its neighboring area were reviewed in this paper,then the basic wave group features of those wide angle reflection / refraction record sections,and of the crustal structure are summarized. It shows that there were in total five clear wave groups on the record sections,which include the first arrival Pg,the reflection P1 from the bottom interface of the upper crust,the reflection P3 from the bottom interface of the middle crust,the strong reflection Pm from the Moho boundary,and the refraction Pn from uppermost mantle. In general,these phases are easily consistently traced and compared,despite some first arrivals being delayed or arriving earlier than normal due to the shallow sedimentary cover or bedrocks. In particular,in the Dabie Mountain region the seismic events of a few gathered shots always have weak reflection energy,are twisted,or exhibit disorganized waveforms, which could be attributed to the disruption variations of reflection depth,the broken Moho,and the discontinuity of the reflection boundary within crust. The regional crustal structures are composed of the upper,middle and lower crust,of which the middle and lower layers can be divided into two weak reflection ones. The crustal thickness of the North China and Yangtze platform are 30km- 36 km,and the Moho exhibits a flat geometry despite some local uplifts. The average pressure velocity in lower crust beneath this two tectonic area is 6. 7 ± 0. 3km / s. Nevertheless,beneath the Dabieshan area the crustal thickness is 32km- 41 km,the Moho bends down sharply andtakes an abrupt 4km- 7km dislocation in the vertical direction. 3First results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from CDEX-1 experiment显示文摘We report the first results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from stage one of the China dark-matter experiment(CDEX).A p-type point-contact high-purity germanium detector with a mass of 994 g has been installed to detect neutrinoless double beta decay events, as well as to directly detect dark matter particles. An exposure of 304 kg d has been analyzed over a wide spectral band from 500 keV to 3 MeV. The average event rate obtained was about 0.012 counts per keV per kg per day over the 2.039 MeV energy range. The half-life of ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay derived based on this result is T^(0ν)1/2>6.4×10^(22) yr(90% C.L.). 4Three-dimensional crustal P-wave velocity structure in the Yangbi and Eryuan earthquake regions, Yunnan, China显示文摘A magnitude 5.5 earthquakes occurred in Eryuan County,Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture,Yunnan Province,China,on March 3.And a magnitude 5.0 earthquake occurred in the same place on April 17,2013,i.e.,45 days later.Then,on May 21,2021,multiple earthquakes,one with magnitude 6.4 and several at 5.0 or above,occurred in Yangbi County,Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture,Yunnan Province,China.All of these occurred in the Weixi-QiaohouWeishan fault zone.In this study,1,874 seismic events in Yangbi and Eryuan counties were identified by automatic micro-seismic identification technology and the first arrivals were picked up manually.Following this,a total of 11,968 direct P-wave absolute arrivals and 73,987 high-quality Pwave relative arrivals were collected for joint inversion via the double difference tomography method.This was done to obtain the regional three-dimensional fine crustal P-wave velocity structure.The results show that the travel time residuals before and after inversion decreased from the initial–0.1–0.1 s to–0.06–0.06 s.The upper crust in the study area,which exhibited a low-velocity anomaly,corresponded to the basin region;this indicated that the low-velocity anomaly in the shallow part of the study area was affected by the basin.Results also showed some correlation between the distribution of the earthquakes and velocity structure,as there was a lowvelocity body Lv1 with a wide distribution at depths ranging from 15–20 km in the Yangbi and Eryuan earthquake regions.In addition,earthquakes occurred predominantly in the highlow velocity abnormal transition zone.The low-velocity body in the middle and lower crust may be prone to concentrating upper crustal stress,thus leading to the occurrence of earthquakes.Jia Jia Qingju Wu Fuyun Wang 2021Earthquake Science2021,34,4:3
5Impossible meet-in-the-middle fault analysis on the LED lightweight cipher in VANETs显示文摘With the expansion of wireless technology, vehicular ad-hoc networks(VANETs) are emerging as a promising approach for realizing smart cities and addressing many serious traffic problems, such as road safety, convenience, and efficiency. To avoid any possible rancorous attacks, employing lightweight ciphers is most effective for implementing encryption/decryption, message authentication, and digital signatures for the security of the VANETs. Light encryption device(LED) is a lightweight block cipher with two basic keysize variants: LED-64 and LED-128. Since its inception, many fault analysis techniques have focused on provoking faults in the last four rounds to derive the 64-bit and 128-bit secret keys. It is vital to investigate whether injecting faults into a prior round enables breakage of the LED. This study presents a novel impossible meet-in-the-middle fault analysis on a prior round. A detailed analysis of the expected number of faults is used to uniquely determine the secret key. It is based on the propagation of truncated differentials and is surprisingly reminiscent of the computation of the complexity of a rectangle attack. 14Remarkable separation of C 5 olefins in anion-pillared hybrid porous materials显示文摘C5 olefin separation is of great importance and challenge in industry with the increasing demand for synthetic rubber.However,the related study is limited due to the complex compositions and the similar boiling points.Here,we for the first time employ two anionpillared hybrid porous materials(ZU-62 and TIFSIX-2-Cu-i)towards the challenging separation of C5 olefin mixtures(trans-2-pentene,1-pentene and isoprene).These two adsorbents not only exhibit the unprecedented separation performance,but also show excellent recycle performance.Owing to the favorable electrostatic environment within a suitable confined space,TIFSIX-2-Cu-i is able to distinguish the three C5 olefins(frans-2-pentene,1-pentene and isoprene)with a high uptake of trans-2-pentene(3.1mmgol·g^(-1))ZU-62(also termed as NbOFFIVE-2-Cu-i)with contracted aperture size shows exclusion effect to the relatively large molecule of isoprene at low pressure range(0-6 kPa),contributing to the excellent separation selectivity of 1-pentene/isoprene(300).The excellent separation performance of ZU-62 and TIFSIX-2-Cu-i is verified by the breakthrough experiment.And interestingly,the regeneration tests show that C5 olefins can be easily desorbed from ZU-62,TIFSIX-2-Cu-i under 298 K.Moreover,the detailed adsorption behavior is further revealed by simulation studies.Ying Yu Lifeng Yang Bin Tan Jianbo Hu Qingju Wang Xili Cui Huabin Xing 2021Nano Research2021,14,2:1
15Risk assessment and identification of factors influencing the historical concentrations of microcystin in Lake Taihu, China显示文摘Understanding the history of microcystins(MCs)pollution in large lakes can help inform future lake management.We collected sediment cores from Lake Taihu to:investigate the long-term record of MCs(MC-LR,MC-YR,and MC-RR),explore the main environmental drivers of MCs,and assess their public health and ecological risks.Results showed that MCs content in all cores increased over time.The core from north Taihu had the highest MC concentrations,with an average total MCs(sum of MC-LR,MC-YR,and MC-RR=TMCs)content of(74.31±328.55)ng/g.The core from eastern Taihu showed the lowest average TMCs content of(2.91±3.95)ng/g.PCA showed that sediment MCs at the three sites were positively correlated with sediment chlorophyll-a.MC-LR and MC-YR in northern and western Taihu negatively correlated with both the sediment total organic carbon/sediment total nitrogen ratio(STOC/STN)andwater nitrate(NO_(3)^(−)-N)concentration,but three MC congeners at eastern Taihu showed positive correlations with water orthophosphate(PO_(4)^(3−)-P),NO_(3)^(−)-N,and STOC/STN.Generalized additive model analysis at each site revealed that NO_(3)^(−)-N was the main TMCs driver in northern andwestern Taihuwhere phytoplankton dominated,whereasPO_(4)^(3−)-P was the main TMCs driver in eastern Taihu where macrophytes dominated.At the whole lake scale,total phosphorus(TP)andPO_(4)^(3−)-P were the most important environmental drivers influencing MCs;TP explained 47.4%,44.2%,and 47.6%while orthophosphate explained 34.8%,31.2%,and 34.7%of the deviance on TMCs,MC-LR,and MC-YR,respectively.NO_(3)^(−)-N also showed a strong effect on MCs variation,especially on MC-YR.Risk assess-ment showed that both ecological and public health risk has increased in recent years.We conclude that while control of phosphorus and nitrogen input should be a major focus for future lake management,lake zone-specificmanagement strategiesmay also be important.Chen Cheng Alan D.Steinman Kaiye Zhang Qi Lin Qingju Xue Xing Wang Liqiang Xie 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,5:0
16New insights on linear cryptanalysis显示文摘Linear cryptanalysis is one of the most important cryptanalytic tools against block ciphers,thus modern block ciphers are always deliberately devised to avoid good long linear characteristics so as to resist linear cryptanalysis and its extensions. Differential-linear cryptanalysis, a powerful extension of linear cryptanalysis, has drawn much attention due to its applicability even in certain case that there is no good long linear characteristic of block ciphers. To further refine differential-linear cryptanalysis, we investigate the correlation distribution of differential-linear hull over random permutation and derive a concrete and concise correlation distribution accordingly. Theoretically, this could make differential-linear cryptanalysis more reasonable and precise. 18Efficient acetylene/carbon dioxide separation with excellent dynamic capacity and low regeneration energy by anion-pillared hybrid materials显示文摘Adsorptive separation of acetylene/carbon dioxide mixtures by porous materials is an important and challenging task due to their similar sizes and physical properties.Here,remarkable acetylene/carbon dioxide separation featuring a high dynamic breakthrough capacity for acetylene(4.3 mmol·g^(–1))as well as an ultralow acetylene regeneration energy(29.5 kJ·mol^(–1))was achieved with the novel TiF_(6)^(2–)-pillared material ZU-100(TIFSIX-bpy-Ni).Construction of a pore structure with abundant TiF_(6)^(2–)anion sites and pores with appropriate sizes enabled formation of acetylene clusters through hydrogen bonds and intermolecular interactions,which afforded a high acetylene capacity(8.3 mmol·g^(–1))and high acetylene/carbon dioxide uptake ratio(1.9)at 298 K and 1 bar.Moreover,the NbO_(5)^(2–)anion-pillared material ZU-61 investigated for separation of acetylene/carbon dioxide.In addition,breakthrough experiments were also conducted to further confirm the excellent dynamic acetylene/carbon dioxide separation performance of ZU-100.Yijian Li Jianbo Hu Jiyu Cui Qingju Wang Huabin Xing Xili Cui 2022Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2022,16,11:0
19Remarkable synergistic effect in cobalt-iron nitride/alloy nanosheets for robust electrochemical water splitting显示文摘Design and synthesis of noble-metal-free bifunctional catalysts for efficient and robust electrochemical water splitting are of significant importance in developing clean and renewable energy sources for sustainable energy consumption.Herein,a simple three-step strategy is reported to construct cobalt-iron nitride/alloy nanosheets on nickel foam(CoFe-NA/NF)as a bifunctional catalyst for both hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER).The electrocatalyst with optimized composition(CoFe-NA2/NF)can achieve ultralow overpotentials of 73 mV and 250 mV for HER and OER,respectively,at a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2) in 1 M KOH.Notably,the electrolyzer based on this electrocatalyst is able to boost the overall water splitting with a cell voltage of 1.564 V to deliver 10 mA cm^(-2) for at least 50 h without obvious performance decay.Furthermore,our experiment and theoretical calculation demonstrate that the combination of cobalt-iron nitride and alloy can have low hydrogen adsorption energy and facilitate water dissociation during HER.In addition,the surface reconstruction introduces metal oxyhydroxides to optimize the OER process.Our work may pave a new pathway to design bifunctional catalysts for overall water splitting.Mingpeng Chen Di Liu Baoye Zi Yuyun Chen Dong Liu Xinyu Du Feifei Li Pengfei Zhou Ye Ke Jielei Li Kin Ho Lo Chi Tat Kwok Weng Fai Ip Shi Chen Shuangpeng Wang Qingju Liu Hui Pan 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,2:0
