2Co_(2)N Nanoparticles Anchored on N-Doped Active Carbon as Catalyst for Oxygen Reduction Reaction in Zinc–Air Battery显示文摘The development of efficient catalytic electrode toward oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)is still a great challenge for the wide use of zinc–air batteries.Herein,Co_(2)N nanoparticles(NPs)anchored on N-doped carbon from cattail were verified with excellent catalytic performances for ORR.The onset and half-wave potentials over the optimal catalyst reach to 0.96 V and 0.84 V,respectively.Current retention rates of 96.8%after 22-h test and 98.8%after running 1600 s were obtained in 1 M methanol solution.Density functional theory simulation proposes an apparently increased electronic states of Co_(2)N in N-doped carbon layer close to the Fermi level.Higher charge density,favorable adsorption,and charge transfer of intermediates originate from the coexistence of Co_(2)N NPs and N atoms in carbon skeleton.The superior catalytic activity of composites also was confirmed in zinc–air batteries.This novel catalytic property and controllable preparation approach of Co_(2)Ncarbon composites provide a promising avenue to fabricate metal-containing catalytically active carbon from biomass.Xianli Wu Guosheng Han Hao Wen Yanyan Liu Lei Han Xingyu Cui Jiajing Kou Baojun Li Jianchun Jiang 2022Energy & Environmental Materials2022,5,3:1

8Microstructure and properties evolution of plasma sprayed Al_(2)O_(3)-Y_(2)O_(3) composite coatings during high temperature and thermal shock treatment显示文摘Al_(2)O_(3)-Y_(2)O_(3) composite powder with TiO_(2) additive was plasma sprayed to prepare Al_(2)O_(3)-Y_(2)O_(3) composite coatings.The micro structure and properties evolution of the Al_(2)O_(3)-Y_(2)O_(3) coatings during high temperature and thermal shock resistance were investigated.The results show that the micro structure of the Al_(2)O_(3)-Y_(2)O_(3)-TiO_(2) coating is more uniform than that of the Al_(2)O_(3)-Y_(2)O_(3) coating.Meanwhile,amorphous phase is formed in the two coatings.The Al_(2)O_(3)-Y_(2)O_(3)(-TiO_(2)) coatings were heat treated for 2 h at temperatures of 800,1000 and 1200℃,respectively.It is found that the microstructure and properties of the two coatings have no obvious change at 800℃.Some of the amorphous phase is crystallized at1000℃,and meanwhile Y_(2)O_(3) and Al_(2)O_(3) react to form YAG phase and YAM phase.At 1200℃,all of the amorphous phases are crystallized.After heat treatment,the micro hardness of the two coatings is increased.The thermal shock resistance of the Al_(2)O_(3)-Y_(2)O_(3) system coatings can be improved by using TC4 titanium alloy as substrate and with NiCrAlY bonding layer.Moreover,the Al_(2)O_(3)-Y_(2)O_(3)-TiO_(2) coating exhibits better thermal shock resistance due to the addition of TiO_(2).Xingyu Wang Xiaolong Wang Xiaowen Sun Yong Yang Chen Zhang Yuduo Ma Yuhang Cui Yanchun Dong Dianran Yan You Wang 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,6:0
9Preventive effect of kiwi berry(Actinidia arguta)on loperamide-induced constipation显示文摘Constipation is a common intestinal disease.Kiwi berries can effectively prevent constipation.However,studies have yet to be done to determine how kiwi berries prevent constipation.For two weeks,mice in this study were continually orally gavaged with kiwi berry,loperamide,or a combination of the 2.This study found that the kiwi group's feces had more water than the constipated mice.In addition,kiwi berries can speed up gastrointestinal transit(GI),shorten the time it takes to pass the first dark stool,and dramatically enhance body weight gain.In the interstitial cells of Caj al(ICC)cells and colon tissues,alterations in the protein expression of vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP),cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP),protein kinase A(PKA),and aquapcrin-3(AQP3)were found.At 3,6,and 12 h of ICC cells and mouse colon,the kiwi group's VIP,cAMP,PKA,and AQP3 protein expression levels were lower than those of the constipated mice.The kiwi berry can decrease the Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes ratio and boost the diversity and quantity of gut microbiota.By influencing the gut microbiota and VIP-cAMP-PKA-AQP3 signaling pathway,kiwi berries prevent constipation.Jiyue Zhang Bin Li Ningxuan Gao Haikun Li Xingyue Cui Hanqian Jiang Siyi Tang Chenyu Jin Jinlong Tian 2024Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,3:0
10Reducing voltage hysteresis of metal oxide anodes to achieve high energy efficiency for Li-ion batteries显示文摘In the past two decades,a lot of high-capacity conversion-type metal oxides have been intensively studied as alternative anode materials for Li-ion batteries with higher energy density.Unfortunately,their large voltage hysteresis(0.8-1.2 V) within reversed conversion reactions results in huge round-trip inefficiencies and thus lower energy efficiency(50%-75%) in full cells than those with graphite anodes.This remains a long-term open question and has been the most serious drawback toward application of metal oxide anodes.Here we clarify the origins of voltage hysteresis in the typical SnO2anode and propose a universal strategy to minimize it.With the established in situ phosphating to generate metal phosphates during reversed conversion reactions in synergy with boosted reaction kinetics by the added P and Mo,the huge voltage hysteresis of 0.9 V in SnO_(2),SnO_(2)-Mo,and 0.6 V in SnO2-P anodes is minimized to 0.3 V in a ternary SnO_(2)-Mo-P(SOMP) composite,along with stable high capacity of 936 mA h g^(-1)after 800 cycles.The small voltage hysteresis can remain stable even the SOMP anode operated at high current rate of10 A g^(-1)and wide-range temperatures from 60 to 30℃,resulting in a high energy efficiency of88.5% in full cells.This effective strategy to minimize voltage hysteresis has also been demonstrated in Fe2O3,Co3O4-basded conversion-type anodes.This work provides important guidance to advance the high-capacity metal oxide anodes from laboratory to industrialization.Xuexia Lan Xingyu Xiong Jie Cui Renzong Hu 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,8:0
11Dual emission of singlet and triplet states boost the sensitivity of pressure-sensing显示文摘Pressure-related sensing materials in mechanochromic luminescent materials have received wide attention.However,at present,most piezochromic luminescence(PCL)materials have problems such as aggregation-caused quenching(ACQ)effect due to the presence of powder form,complicated preparation methods and fluorescence quenching effect under high pressure.To solve these problems,we employ three components containing carbon dots(CDs),layered double hydroxides(LDHs)and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)to construct the CDs-LDHs/PVA film.The LDHs can provide a rigid environment for CDs and improve the luminescent efficiency of CDs.The film shows high sensitivity,stability and reversibility.Moreover,the compressed film can recover to its original state by heating.Therefore,the PCL film with dual emission(fluorescence and phosphorescence)characteristic is constructed,which boosts the sensitivity of pressure-sensing.Xingyu Cui Xia Xing Xinrui Wang Wenying Shi Chao Lua 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,9:0
12Geochemical characteristics and geological implication of ferromanganese crust from CM6 Seamount of the Caroline Ridge in the Western Pacific显示文摘Ferromanganese crusts(Fe-Mn crusts)grow very slow and can be treated as condensed stratigraphic sections recording paleo-oceanographic environmental information and local key geological events during the mineralization process.Geochronology,textures,mineralogy,and geochemistry of a Fe-Mn crust sample from the CM6 Seamount of the Caroline Ridge in the Western Pacific Ocean were analyzed by means of electron probe microanalysis and X-ray diffraction.The Fe-Mn crust shows three layers in textural characteristics from bottom to top.The lower,middle,and upper layers presence mottled,botryoidal,and columnar textures,respectively.Ferruginous vernadite,Fe hydroxide,amorphous silicate minerals,calcite,quartz,and feldspar are the main minerals of the Fe-Mn crust.Using cobalt chronometry method,the cumulative growth time of the Fe-Mn crust was determined to be 11 Ma or 25 Ma,of which25 Ma is inconsistent with other lines of age constraint brought by dating of the substrate.The co-existence of abundant silicate minerals and bioclasts in the middle and lower layers of the Fe-Mn crust diluted the ferromanganese oxide deposits,thus affected the texture,minerals,and geochemical characteristics of the Fe-Mn crust.Variations in Mn Co,Ni,and other elements content and the burial of opal-A recorded the expansion of oxygen minimum zone(OMZ)in the upper layer of the Fe-Mn crust.In addition,the highreflectivity Fe-rich laminae might indicate the surrounding volcanic activity.The Fe-Mn crust sample was determined to be hydrogenic by electron probe micro-analyzer(EPM A).The findings help us understand the geochemical characteristics of the Fe-Mn crust in the Caroline Ridge Seamount in the Western Pacific and the variations of paleo-oceanographic environment clues borne by the Fe-Mn crusts.Qing WANG Zhenyan WANG Kai LIU Quanchao CUI Xingyu SHI 2021Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,5:0
13Effect of styrene-butadiene-styrene copolymer on the aging resistance of asphalt:An atomistic understanding from reactive molecular dynamics simulations显示文摘To reveal the potential influence of styrene-butadiene-styrene(SBS)polymer modification on the anti-aging performance of asphalt,and its mechanism,we explored the aging characteristics of base asphalt and SBS-modified asphalt by reaction force field(ReaxFF)and classical molecular dynamics simulations.The results illustrate that the SBS asphalt is more susceptible to oxidative aging than the base asphalt under oxygen-deficient conditions due to the presence of unsaturated C=C bonds in the SBS polymer.In the case of sufficient oxygen,the SBS polymer inhibits the oxidation of asphalt by restraining the diffusion of asphalt molecules.Compared with the base asphalt,the SBS asphalt exhibits a higher degree of oxidation at the early stage of pavement service and a lower degree of oxidation in the long run.In addition,SBS polymer degrades into small blocks during aging,thus counteracting the hardening of aged asphalt and partially restoring its low-temperature cracking resistance.Dongliang Hu Xingyu Gu Bingyan Cui 2021Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2021,15,5:0
14Vertically aligned Ni/NiO nanocomposites with abundant oxygen deficient hetero-interfaces for enhanced overall water splitting显示文摘The design of heterostructured transition metal-based electrocatalysts with controlled composition and interfaces is key to increasing the efficiency of the water electrolysis and the elucidation of reaction mechanisms.In this work,we report the synthesis of well-controlled vertically aligned Ni/NiO nanocomposites consisting of Ni nanoclusters embedded in NiO,which result in highly efficient electrocatalysts for overall water splitting.We show that such a high catalytic efficiency toward both the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)originates from a synergetic effect at Ni/NiO interfaces that significantly reduces the energy barrier for water dissociation,and favours the formation of reactive H*intermediates on the Ni side of the interface,and OH_(ads) on the NiO side of the interface.A study of water chemisorption based on near-ambient pressure photoelectron spectroscopy indicates that the abundant hetero-interfaces in Ni/NiO nanocomposite promote the dissociation of water with a three-fold increase in the surface concentration of OH_(ads) compared with pure NiO.Density functional theory calculations indicate that Ni/NiO interface leads to the reduction of the water dissociation energy barrier due to a high concentration of oxygen vacancies at NiO side of the interface,whereas the formation of highly active metallic Ni sites with an optimal value of Gibbs free energy of H*(ΔG_(H*)=−0.16 eV)owes to a favourable adjustment of the electron energetics at the interface,thus accelerating the overall electrochemical water splitting.Hongxia Wang Meiyan Cui Gaoliang Fu Jiaye Zhang Xingyu Ding Irene Azaceta Matthew Bugnet Demie M.Kepaptsoglou Vlado K.Lazarov Victor Ade la Peña O’Shea Freddy E.Oropeza Kelvin H.L.Zhang 2022Science China Chemistry2022,65,10:0
15In-situ synthesis,microstructure,and properties of NbB_(2)-NbC-Al_(2)O_(3)composite coatings by plasma spraying显示文摘The high melting point and strong chemical bonding of NbB_(2)pose a great challenge to the preparation of high-density nanostructured NbB_(2)composite coating.Herein,we report a novel,simple,and efficient method to fabricate in-situ NbB_(2)–NbC–Al_(2)O_(3)composite coating by plasma spraying Nb_(2)O_(5)–B_(4)C–Al composite powder,aiming at realizing the higher densification and ultra-fine microstructure of NbB_(2)composite coating.The microstructure and properties of in-situ NbB_(2)–NbC–Al_(2)O_(3)composite coating were studied comparatively with ex-situ NbB_(2)–NbC–Al_(2)O_(3)composite coating(plasma spraying NbB_(2)–NbC–Al_(2)O_(3)composite powder).The reaction mechanism of Nb_(2)O_(5)–B_(4)C–Al composite powder in plasma jet was analyzed in detail.The results showed that the in-situ nanostructured NbB_(2)–NbC–Al_(2)O_(3)composite coating presented a lower porosity and superior performance including higher microhardness,toughness and wear resistance compared to the plasma sprayed ex-situ NbB_(2)–NbC–Al_(2)O_(3)coating and other boride composite coatings.Densification of the in-situ NbB_(2)–NbC–Al_(2)O_(3)coating was attributed to the low melting point of Nb_(2)O_(5)–B_(4)C–Al composite powder and the exothermic effect of in-situ reaction.The superior performance was ascribed to the density improvement and the strengthening and toughening effect of the nanosized phases.The in-situ reaction path could be expressed as:Nb_(2)O_(5)+Al®Nb+Al_(2)O_(3),and Nb+B_(4)C®NbB_(2)+NbC.Xiaolong WANG Yong YANG Shitong JIA Yanwei WANG Yuduo MA Yuhang CUI Xingyu WANG Wenwei SUN Liang WANG 2022Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,8:0
