| 1 | Design and optimization of supersonic turbines for detonation combustors显示文摘Detonation-based engines offer a potential surge in efficiency for compact thermal power systems. However, these cycles require ad-hoc components adapted to the high outlet velocity from the detonation combustors. This paper presents the design methodology of turbine stages suitable for supersonic inlet conditions and provides a detailed analysis of optimized turbine geometries. A reduced-order solver examines the supersonic blade rows’ functional design space, quantifies the turbine’s non-isentropic performance, and budgets the turbine loss for different optimized leading-edge designs and chord to pitch ratios. The shock-wave interactions were identified as the predominant contributor to turbine losses, and optimal pitch-chord ratios were determined for various inlet Mach numbers. Finally, with this tool, the specific-power output for a wide range of design configurations was computed;and the metal angle that ensures flow starting and maximizes power extraction was calculated. | 10 | 气功对学习横笛儿童焦虑和心理应激功能的影响(英文)显示文摘目的:基于病例治疗,对气功疗效是否可以用生理测量指标和心理评分量化这一命题进行研究。方法:研究设计为前瞻性干预对照研究。气功组纳入8名儿童,接受为期7周的'白球'气功训练,每周2次,每次30min。对照组纳入8名儿童不接受气功训练。使用针对儿童的'抑郁、焦虑和压力量表'衡量焦虑的主观感受。此外,在研究开始和结束时分别测量两组儿童的唾液中皮质醇水平、心率变化、血压、斜方肌肌电图、反应时间等指标。结果:与对照组比较,气功组在心率指标方面显著降低。虽然在其他指标方面两组之间无显著差异,但是气功组在唾液中皮质醇水平、斜方肌肌电图及血压等指标方面的效应量更大。在焦虑主观感受、唾液中皮质醇水平和心率指标方面,气功组相对较低。结论:'白球'气功可以显著降低学习乐器表演的儿童的心率。基于本研究8/8的样本量,气功也有减轻焦虑和降低血压的作用。对于今后将要开展的量化气功疗效的研究,可以增大样本量,研究其他焦虑感增加的环境下年轻人的情况,设置合理的对照干预措施,解决设盲的问题,测量其他可能会受到气功治疗影响的指标,以及比较气功与其他可以降低焦虑的方法的疗效。 | Claudia Maria Sousa Mario Gonalves Jorge Machado Thomas Efferth Tobias Greten Petra Froeschen Henry J. | 18 | Protein profile of leprosy patients with plantar ulcers from the Eastern Amazon region显示文摘Background:Studies investigating the nutritional status of patients with leprosy and plantar ulcers are sparse.Therefore,the objective of this study was to describe the protein profile of leprosy patients with plantar ulcers from the Eastern Amazon region.Methods:A case record form was created for 75 patients with leprosy(31 with plantar ulcers and 44 without plantar ulcers)with the following data:sociodemographic characteristics,clinical form of leprosy,presence or absence of plantar ulcers,and nutritional assessment using anthropometry consisting of the measurement of body mass index,arm circumference,arm muscle circumference,and triceps skinfold.Levels of blood albumin,transferrin,and C-reactive protein(CRP)were also measured.Data regarding protein intake were obtained using a Food Frequency Questionnaire.Results:Plantar ulcers occurred more frequently in male patients(67.7%),patients aged 40-49 years(mean±SD:47.3±8.0 years),and patients receiving 300 or 600 USD(71.0%).The mean weight and height of patients were 71.6±11.4 kg and 1.62±0.1 m,respectively.High levels of CRP were detected in 51.6%of leprosy patients with plantar ulcers and only 9.1%of patients without plantar ulcers(P<0.001).Nutritional depletion of transferrin was observed in 14.3%of patients with paucibacillary leprosy and 44.3%of patients with multibacillary leprosy(P=0.0447).Most patients had normal levels of serum albumin(74.2%with plantar ulcers and 77.3%without plantar ulcers).Conclusions:Most leprosy patients with plantar ulcers have normal levels of serum albumin and transferrin and high CRP levels,which indicates the presence of an inflammatory process.Our findings suggest the need to monitor patients with leprosy to prevent the occurrence of plantar ulcers and to provide adequate treatment for patients with existing plantar ulcers. | Marineia Porto de Oliveira Jorge Rodrigues de Sousa Rafael Silva de Araujo Tinara Leila de Sousa Aarao Juarez Antonio Simoes Quaresma | 2017 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2017，6，1： | 1 |
| 19 | Performance index: An expeditious tool to screen for improved drought resistance in the Lathyrus genus显示文摘Some species of the Lathyrus genus are among the most promising crops for marginal lands, with high resilience to drought, flood, and fungal diseases, combined with high yields and seed nutritional value. However, lack of knowledge on the mechanisms underlying its outstanding performance and methodologies to identify elite genotypes has hampered its proper use in breeding. Chlorophyll a fast fluorescence transient(JIP test), was used to evaluate water deficit(WD)resistance in Lathyrus genus. Our results reveal unaltered photochemical values for all studied genotypes showing resistance to mild WD. Under severe WD, two Lathyrus sativus genotypes showed remarkable resilience maintaining the photochemical efficiency, contrary to other genotypes studied.Performance index(PIABS) is the best parameter to screen genotypes with improved performance and grain production under WD. Moreover, we found that JIP indices are good indicators of genotypic grain production under WD. Quantum yield of electron transport(wEo) and efficiency with which trapped excitons can move electrons further than QA(c0)revealed as important traits related to improved photosynthetic performance and should be exploited in future Lathyrus germplasm improvements.
