| 3 | Persistent organochlorine residues in sediments of Haihe River and Dagu Drainage River in Tianjin, China显示文摘Persistent organochlorine compounds were analyzed by means of GC-ECD in surface sediment samples from two selected rivers in Tianjin, Haihe River and Dagu Drainage River. A total of 16 surface sediment sites were selected along the both rivers. The frequency of detection of T-HCH and T-DDT in sediment samples both was up to 100%, which illustrated that the contamination of HCH and DDT was widespread in Haihe and Dagu Drainage Rivers. Results indicated that the concentrations of various pesticides in sediments from Haihe River were in the range of 3.30—75.96 ng/g dw for T-HCH and 1.57—211.57 ng/g dw for T-DDT. Compared with Haihe River, Dagu Drainage River was contaminated by HCHs and DDTs along the all locations and the values of T-HCH and T-DDT residues in sediments ranged from 2.30 to 124.61 ng/g dw and from 11.28 to 237.30 ng/g dw, respectively. The possible pollution sources were analyzed through monitoring results of organochlorine pesticides(OCPs) residues in sediments from the two rivers. | 4 | Epidemiology,clinical and laboratory characteristics of currently alive HIV-1 infected former blood donors naive to antiretroviral therapy in Anhui Province,China显示文摘Background Unregulated commercial blood/plasma collection among farmers occurred between 1992 and 1995 in central China and caused the second major epidemic of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection in China. It is important to characterize HIV-1-infected former blood donors and to study characteristics associated with disease progression for future clinical intervention and vaccine development. Methods A cross-sectional study was performed on HIV-1-infected former blood donors (FBDs) and age-matched HIV-seronegative local residents. Demographic, epidemiologic, clinical and key laboratory data were collected from all study participants. Both unadjusted and adjusted multivariate linear regressions were employed to analyze the association of the decrease of CD4+ T-cell counts with other characteristics. Results Two hundred and ninety-four HIV-1-infected FBDs and 59 age-matched HIV-seronegative local residents were enrolled in this study. The unregulated blood/plasma collection occurred more than a decade (10.8 -12.8 years) ago, which caused the rapid spread of HIV-1 infection and the high prevalence of co-infection with hepatitis C virus (HCV, 89.5%); hepatitis B virus (HBV) co-infection was observed in only 11 HIV+participants (3.7%). Deterioration in both clinical manifestation and laboratory parameters and increase of viral loads were observed in parallel with the decrease of CD4+ T-cell counts. The decrease of total lymphocyte counts (P<0.001) and hemoglobin levels (P<0.001) and the appearance of dermatosis (P=0.03) were observed in parallel with the decrease of CD4+ T-cell counts whereas viral loads (P<0.001) and CD8+ T-cell counts (P=0.01) were inverselyassociated with CD4+ T-cell counts. Conclusions Co-infection with HCV but not HBV is highly prevalent among HIV-1-infected FBDs. CD4+ T-cell counts is a reliable indicator for disease progression among FBDs. | 6 | Copper-Bismuth Bimetallic Microspheres for Selective Electrocatalytic Reduction of CO2 to Formate显示文摘Summary of main observation and conclusion Electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction holds great promise for reducing the atmospheric CO2 level and alleviating the energy crisis. High-performance electrocatalysts are often required in order to lower the high overpotential and expedite the sluggish reaction kinetics of CO2 electroreduction. Copper is a promising candidate metal. However, it usually suffers from the issues of poor stability and low product selectivity. In this work, bimetallic Cu-Bi is obtained by reducing the microspherical copper bismuthate (CuBi2O4) for selectively catalyzing the CO2 reduction to formate (HCOO-). The bimetallic Cu-Bi electrocatalyst exhibits high activity and selectivity with the Faradic efficiency over 90% in a wide potential window. A maximum Faradaic efficiency of ~95% is obtained at -0.93 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode. Furthermore, the catalyst shows high stability over 6 h with Faradaic efficiency of -95%. | 9 | Amperometric Determination of lndole-3-acetic Acid Based on Platinum Nanowires and Carbon Nanotubes显示文摘Platinum nanowire (PtNW) can be grown by electrodeposition in polycarbonate membrane, with the average diameter of the nanowires about 250 nm. The PtNW and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (CNT) are then dispersed into chitosan (CHIT) solution. The resulting PtNW-CNT-CHIT material brings new capabilities for electrochemical devices by using the synergistic action of the electrocatalytic activity of PtNW and CNT. By dropping the PtNW-CNT-CHIT film onto the glassy carbon (GC) electrode surface, and after evaporation an amperometric sensor for the determination of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) was developed. The oxidation current of IAA increased significantly at the PtNW-CNT-CHIT film coated GC electrode, in contrast to that at the CNT-CHIT modified GC. | 10 | Sdr4 dominates pre-harvest sprouting and facilitates adaptation to local climatic condition in Asian cultivated rice显示文摘Pre-harvest sprouting(PHS),which reduces grain yield and quality,is controlled by seed dormancy genes.Because few dormancy-related genes have been cloned,the genetic basis of seed dormancy in rice(Oryza sativa L.)remains unclear.Here,we performed a genome-wide association study and linkage mapping to dissect the genetic basis of seed dormancy in rice.Our findings suggest that Seed Dormancy4(Sdr4),a central modulator of seed dormancy,integrates the abscisic acid and gibberellic acid signaling pathways at the transcriptional level.Haplotype analysis revealed that three Sdr4 alleles in rice cultivars already existed in ancestral Oryza rufipogon accessions.Furthermore,like the semi-dwarf 1(SD1)and Rc loci,Sdr4 underwent selection during the domestication and improvement of Asian cultivated rice.The distribution frequency of the Sdr4-n allele in different locations in Asia is negatively associated with local annual temperature and precipitation.Finally,we developed functional molecular markers for Sdr4,SD1,and Rc for use in molecular breeding.Our results provide clues about the molecular basis of Sdr4-regulated seed dormancy.Moreover,these findings provide guidance for utilizing the favorable alleles of Sdr4 and Rc to synergistically boost PHS resistance,yield,and quality in modern rice varieties. | Bo Zhao Hui Zhang Tianxiao Chen Ling Ding Liying Zhang Xiali Ding Jun Zhang Qian Qian Yong Xiang | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,6: | 3 |
