| 1 | Punicalagin ameliorates collagen-induced arthritis by downregulating M1 macrophage and pyroptosis via NF-κB signaling pathway显示文摘Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)is a chronic inflammatory disease that eventually leads to disability.Inflammatory cell infiltration,severe joint breaking and systemic bone loss are the main clinical symptoms.In this study,we established a collagen-induced arthritis(CIA)model and found a large number of M1 macrophages and pyroptosis,which are important sources of proinflammatory cytokines.Punicalagin(PUN)is an active substance extracted from pomegranate peel.We found that it inhibited joint inflammation,cartilage damage and systemic bone destruction in CIA mice.PUN effectively alleviated the high expression of inflammatory cytokines in synovial tissue in vivo.PUN treatment shifted macrophages from the M1 phenotype to the M2 phenotype after stimulation with lipopolysaccharide(LPS)and interferon(IFN)-γ.The expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase(i NOS)and other proinflammatory cytokines released by M1 macrophages was decreased in the PUN treatment group.However,simultaneously,the expression of markers of anti-inflammatory M2 macrophages,such as arginase(Arg)-1 and interleukin(IL)-10,was increased.In addition,PUN treatment attenuated pyroptosis by downregulating the expression of NLRP3 and caspase-1,thereby preventing inflammatory cell death resulting from the release of IL-1βand IL-18.Mechanistically,PUN inhibited the activation of receptor activators of the nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)signaling pathway,which contributes to M1 polarization and pyroptosis of macrophages.We concluded that PUN ameliorated pathological inflammation by inhibiting M1 phenotype polarization and pyroptosis and has great potential as a therapeutic treatment for human RA. | Gaoran Ge Jiaxiang Bai Qing Wang Xiaolong Liang Huaqiang Tao Hao Chen Minggang Wei Junjie Niu Huilin Yang Yaozeng Xu Yuefeng Hao Yi Xue Dechun Geng | 2022 | Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,3: | 14 |
| 2 | Recent development of methanol electrooxidation catalysts for directmethanol fuel cell显示文摘Direct methanol fuel cells(DMFCs) are very promising power source for stationary and portable miniature electric appliances due to its high efficiency and low emissions of pollutants. As the key material, catalysts for both cathode and anode face several problems which hinder the commercialization of DMFCs.In this review, we mainly focus on anode catalysts of DMFCs. The process and mechanism of methanol electrooxidation on Pt and Pt-based catalysts in acidic medium have been introduced. The influences of size effect and morphology on electrocatalytic activity are discussed though whether there is a size effect in MOR catalyst is under debate. Besides, the non Pt catalysts are also listed to emphasize though Pt is still deemed as the indispensable element in anode catalyst of DMFCs in acidic medium. Different catalyst systems are compared to illustrate the level of research at present. | 3 | Effect of Preparation Methods on Mechanical Properties of PVA/HA Composite Hydrogel显示文摘Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/hydroxyapatite (HA) composite hydrogel specimens were prepared with 15% PVA and 1%,2%, 3%, 4% and 5% HA by repeated freezing-thawing. The tests of static and dynamic mechanical properties were carried out todiscuss the influence of different contents of HA and freezing-thawing cycles on the mechanical properties of PVA/HA compositehydrogel. The results of static mechanical tests showed that the PVA/HA composite hydrogel with 3% HA and ninefreezing-thawing cycles had excellent stress relaxation properties, higher relaxation ratio, lower stress equilibrium value andpresented better properties of creep and recovery. | 5 | Correlating Fe source with Fe-N-C active site construction: Guidancefor rational design of high-performance ORR catalyst显示文摘Pyrolyzed Fe-N_X/C materials derived from Fe-doped ZIF-8 are recently emerged as promising alternatives to noble metal platinum-based catalysts towards oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) and elucidating the dependacne of Fe source on the active site structure and final ORR performance is highly desirbale for further development of these materials. Here, we designed and synthesized a series of Fe-N-C catalysts using ZIF-8 and various iron salts(Fe(acac)_3, FeCl_3, Fe(NO_3)_3) as precusors. We found that the iron precursors,mainly the molecular size, hydrolysis extent, do play a major role in determining the final morphology of Fe, namely forming the Fe-Nx coordination or Fe_3C nanoparticles, as well as the site density, therefore,significantly affecting the ORR activity. | 13 | Genesis of the Weiquan Ag-Polymetallic Deposit in East Tianshan, China: Evidence from Zircon U-Pb Geochronology and C-H-O-S-Pb Isotope Systematics显示文摘The Weiquan Ag-polymetallic deposit is located on the southern margin of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt and in the western segment of the Aqishan-Yamansu arc belt in East Tianshan,northwestern China. Its orebodies, controlled by faults, occur in the lower Carboniferous volcanosedimentary rocks of the Yamansu Formation as irregular veins and lenses. Four stages of mineralization have been recognized on the basis of mineral assemblages, ore fabrics, and crosscutting relationships among the ore veins. Stage I is the skarn stage(garnet + pyroxene), Stage Ⅱ is the retrograde alteration stage(epidote + chlorite + magnetite ± hematite 士 actinolite ± quartz),Stage Ⅲ is the sulfide stage(Ag and Bi minerals + pyrite + chalcopyrite + galena + sphalerite + quartz ± calcite ± tetrahedrite),and Stage IV is the carbonate stage(quartz + calcite ± pyrite). Skarnization,silicification, carbonatization,epidotization,chloritization, sericitization, and actinolitization are the principal types of hydrothermal alteration. LAICP-MS U-Pb dating yielded ages of 326.5±4.5 and 298.5±1.5 Ma for zircons from the tuff and diorite porphyry, respectively. Given that the tuff is wall rock and that the orebodies are cut by a late diorite porphyry dike, the ages of the tuff and the diorite porphyry provide lower and upper time limits on the age of ore formation. The δ^(13)C values of the calcite samples range from-2.5‰ to 2.3‰, the δ^(18)O_(H2 O) and δD_(VSMOW) values of the sulfide stage(Stage Ⅲ) vary from 1.1‰ to 5.2‰ and-111.7‰ to-66.1‰, respectively,and the δ^(13)C, δ^(18)O_(H2 O) and δD_(V-SMOW) values of calcite in one Stage IV sample are 1.5‰,-0.3‰, and-115.6‰, respectively. Carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen isotopic compositions indicate that the ore-forming fluids evolved gradually from magmatic to meteoric sources. The δ^(34)S_(V-CDT) values of the sulfides have a large range from-6.9‰ to 1.4‰, with an average of-2.2‰, indicating a magmatic source, possibly with sedimentary contributions. The ^(206)Pb/^(204)Pb, ^(207)Pb/^(204)Pb, and ^(208)Pb/^(204)Pb ratios of the sulfides are 17.9848-18.2785,15.5188-15.6536, and 37.8125-38.4650, respectively, and one whole-rock sample at Weiquan yields^(206)Pb/^(204)Pb,^(207)Pb/^(204)Pb, and ^(208)Pb/^(204)Pb ratios of 18.2060, 15.5674, and 38.0511,respectively. Lead isotopic systems suggest that the ore-forming materials of the Weiquan deposit were derived from a mixed source involving mantle and crustal components. Based on geological features, zircon U-Pb dating, and C-H-OS-Pb isotopic data, it can be concluded that the Weiquan polymetallic deposit is a skarn type that formed in a tectonic setting spanning a period from subduction to post-collision. | 14 | Hydrogen etching induced hierarchical meso/micro-pore structure with increased active density to boost ORR performance of Fe-N-C catalyst显示文摘Rational regulation on pore structure and active site density plays critical roles in enhancing the performance of Fe-N-C catalysts. As the microporous structure of the carbon substrate is generally regarded as the active site hosts, its hostility to electron/mass transfer could lead to the incomplete fulfillment of the catalytic activity. Besides, the formation of inactive metallic Fe particles during the conventional catalyst synthesis could also decrease the active site density and complicate the identification of real active site. Herein, we developed a facial hydrogen etching methodology to yield single site Fe-N-C catalysts featured with micro/mesoporous hierarchical structure. The hydrogen concentration in pyrolysis process was designated to effectively regulate the pore structure and active site density of the resulted catalysts.The optimized sample achieves excellent ORR catalytic performance with an ultralow H2O2 yield(1%)and superb stability over 10,000 cycles. | 17 | In-situ constructing visible light CdS/Cd-MOF photocatalyst with enhanced photodegradation of methylene blue显示文摘Based on high specific surface area,high porosity of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)and excellent vis-ible light response of CdS,the CdS/Cd-MOF nanocomposites were constructed by in-situ sulfurization to form CdS using Cd-MOF as precursor and the CdS loading was controlled by the dose of thioac-etamide.Under the irradiation of simulated sunlight,the degradation rate of methylene blue(MB)by 10mg MOF/CdS-6(mass ratio of MOF to thioacetamide is 6:1)was 91.9%in 100min,which was higher than that of pure Cd-MOF(62.3%)and pure CdS(67.5%).This is attributed to the larger specific surface area of the composite catalysts,which provides more active sites.Meanwhile,the loading of CdS obvi-ously broadens the light response range of Cd-MOF and improves the utilization of visible light.The Mott-Schottky model experiment shows that the formed type-Ⅱheterojunction between Cd-MOF and CdS can effectively inhibit the recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes.Meanwhile,the photocurrent intensity of MOF/CdS-6 is 8 times and 2.5 times of that of pure Cd-MOF and CdS.In addi-tion,MOF/CdS-6 showed good photocatalytic performance after five cycles,showing excellent stability and reusability. | Cheng Jing Yufei Zhang Junjie Zheng Shengsong Ge Jing Lin Duo Pan Nithesh Naik Zhanhu Guo | 2022 | Particuology2022,20,10: | 1 |
