| 1 | Study on gastric cancer blood plasma based on surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy combined with multivariate analysis显示文摘A surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) method combined with multivariate analysis was developed for non-invasive gastric cancer detection. SERS measurements were performed on two groups of blood plasma samples: one group from 32 gastric patients and the other group from 33 healthy volunteers. Tentative assignments of the Raman bands in the measured SERS spectra suggest interesting cancer-specific biomolecular changes, including an increase in the relative amounts of nucleic acid, collagen, phospholipids and phenylalanine and a decrease in the percentage of amino acids and saccharide in the blood plasma of gastric cancer patients as compared with those of healthy subjects. Principal components analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) were employed to develop effective diagnostic algorithms for classification of SERS spectra between normal and cancer plasma with high sensitivity (79.5%) and specificity (91%). A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was employed to assess the accuracy of diagnostic algorithms based on PCA-LDA. | 2 | Vertically Aligned Silicon Carbide Nanowires/Boron Nitride Cellulose Aerogel Networks Enhanced Thermal Conductivity and Electromagnetic Absorbing of Epoxy Composites显示文摘With the innovation of microelectronics technology, the heat dissipation problem inside the device will face a severe test. In this work, cellulose aerogel(CA) with highly enhanced thermal conductivity(TC) in vertical planes was successfully obtained by constructing a vertically aligned silicon carbide nanowires(SiC NWs)/boron nitride(BN) network via the ice template-assisted strategy. The unique network structure of SiC NWs connected to BN ensures that the TC of the composite in the vertical direction reaches 2.21 W m^(-1) K^(-1) at a low hybrid filler loading of 16.69 wt%, which was increased by 890% compared to pure epoxy(EP). In addition, relying on unique porous network structure of CA, EP-based composite also showed higher TC than other comparative samples in the horizontal direction. Meanwhile, the composite exhibits good electrically insulating with a volume electrical resistivity about 2.35 × 10^(11) Ω cm and displays excellent electromagnetic wave absorption performance with a minimum reflection loss of-21.5 dB and a wide effective absorption bandwidth(<-10 dB) from 8.8 to 11.6 GHz. | 4 | Substantial transition to clean household energy mix in rural China显示文摘The household energy mix has significant impacts on human health and climate,as it contributes greatly to many health-and climate-relevant air pollutants.Compared to the well-established urban energy statistical system,the rural household energy statistical system is incomplete and is often associated with high biases.Via a nationwide investigation,this study revealed high contributions to energy supply from coal and biomass fuels in the rural household energy sector,while electricity comprised∼20%.Stacking(the use of multiple sources of energy)is significant,and the average number of energy types was 2.8 per household.Compared to 2012,the consumption of biomass and coals in 2017 decreased by 45%and 12%,respectively,while the gas consumption amount increased by 204%.Increased gas and decreased coal consumptions were mainly in cooking,while decreased biomass was in both cooking(41%)and heating(59%).The time-sharing fraction of electricity and gases(E&G)for daily cooking grew,reaching 69%in 2017,but for space heating,traditional solid fuels were still dominant,with the national average shared fraction of E&G being only 20%.The non-uniform spatial distribution and the non-linear increase in the fraction of E&G indicated challenges to achieving universal access to modern cooking energy by 2030,particularly in less-developed rural and mountainous areas.In some non-typical heating zones,the increased share of E&G for heating was significant and largely driven by income growth,but in typical heating zones,the time-sharing fraction was<5%and was not significantly increased,except in areas with policy intervention.The intervention policy not only led to dramatic increases in the clean energy fraction for heating but also accelerated the clean cooking transition.Higher income,higher education,younger age,less energy/stove stacking and smaller family size positively impacted the clean energy transition. | Guofeng Shen Rui Xiong Yanlin Tian Zhihan Luo Bahabaike Jiangtulu Wenjun Meng Wei Du Jing Meng Yuanchen Chen Bing Xue Bin Wang Yonghong Duan Jia Duo Fenggui Fan Lei Huang Tianzhen Ju Fenggui Liu Shunxin Li Xianli Liu Yungui Li Mu Wang Ying Nan Bo Pan Yanfang Pan Lizhi Wang Eddy Zeng Chao Zhan Yilin Chen Huizhong Shen Hefa Cheng Shu Tao | 2022 | National Science Review2022,9,7: | 4 |
| 5 | Evolution and protein interactions of AP2 proteins in Brassicaceae: Evidence linking development and environmental responses显示文摘Plants have evolved a large number of transcription factors(TF), which are enriched among duplicate genes,highlighting their roles in complex regulatory networks. The APETALA2/EREBP-like genes constitute a large plant TF family and participate in development and stress responses. To probe the conservation and divergence of AP2/EREBP genes,we analyzed the duplication patterns of this family in Brassicaceae and identified interacting proteins of representative Arabidopsis AP2/EREBP proteins. We found that many AP2/EREBP duplicates generated early in Brassicaceae history were quickly lost, but many others were retained in all tested Brassicaceae species, suggesting early functional divergence followed by persistent conservation. In addition,the sequences of the AP2 domain and exon numbers were highly conserved in rosids. Furthermore, we used 16 A.thaliana AP2/EREBP proteins as baits in yeast screens and identified 1,970 potential AP2/EREBP-interacting proteins,with a small subset of interactions verified in planta. Many AP2 genes also exhibit reduced expression in an antherdefective mutant, providing a possible link to developmental regulation. The putative AP2-interacting proteins participate in many functions in development and stress responses,including photomorphogenesis, flower development, pathogenesis, drought and cold responses, abscisic acid and auxin signaling. | 20 | A novel selective ERK1/2 inhibitor,Laxiflorin B,targets EGFR mutation subtypes in non-small-cell lung cancer显示文摘Extracellular regulated protein kinases 1/2(ERK1/2)are key members of multiple signaling pathways,including the ErbB axis.Ectopic ERK1/2 activation contributes to various types of cancer,especially drug resistance to inhibitors of RTK,RAF and MEK,and specific ERK1/2 inhibitors are scarce.In this study,we identified a potential novel covalent ERK inhibitor,Laxiflorin B,which is a herbal compound with anticancer activity.However,Laxiflorin B is present at low levels in herbs;therefore,we adopted a semi-synthetic process for the efficient production of Laxiflorin B to improve the yield.Laxiflorin B induced mitochondria-mediated apoptosis via BAD activation in non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC)cells,especially in EGFR mutant subtypes.Transcriptomic analysis suggested that Laxiflorin B inhibits amphiregulin(AREG)and epiregulin(EREG)expression through ERK inhibition,and suppressed the activation of their receptors,ErbBs,via a positive feedback loop.Moreover,mass spectrometry analysis combined with computer simulation revealed that Laxiflorin B binds covalently to Cys-183 in the ATP-binding pocket of ERK1 via the D-ring,and Cys-178 of ERK1 through non-inhibitory binding of the A-ring.In a NSCLC tumor xenograft model in nude mice,Laxiflorin B also exhibited strong tumor suppressive effects with low toxicity and AREG and EREG were identified as biomarkers of Laxiflorin B efficacy.Finally,Laxiflorin B-4,a C-6 analog of Laxiflorin B,exhibited higher binding affinity for ERK1/2 and stronger tumor suppression.These findings provide a new approach to tumor inhibition using natural anticancer compounds. | Cheng-Yao Chiang Min Zhang Junrong Huang Juan Zeng Chunlan Chen Dongmei Pan Heng Yang Tiantian Zhang Min Yang Qiangqiang Han Zou Wang Tian Xiao Yangchao Chen Yongdong Zou Feng Yin Zigang Li Lizhi Zhu Duo Zheng | 2024 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2024,45,2: | 0 |
