12018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 2Isolation and characterization of rl_(t), a gene that controls leaf rolling in rice显示文摘Moderate leaf rolling is one of the most important morphological traits in rice breeding for plant ideotype.Previous studies have shown that the rl(t)gene has a high breeding potential for developing hybrid-rice varieties with an ideal ideotype,because it leads to an appropriate leaf rolling index(LRI)of about 30%in the heterozygous state,and had a positive effect on grain yield.In this study,we isolated rl(t)and performed a preliminary investigation of its function in regulating leaf rolling in rice.DNA sequencing identified a single base change(G to T)in the finely mapped region(11 kb)containing rl(t),and this is located in 30-untranslated region(30-UTR)of the only predicted gene,Roc5(Rice outermost cell-specific).The expression level of Roc5 is significantly higher in the rl(t)mutant than in the wild-type.Using RNAi and overexpression analysis,we found that the expression level of Roc5 correlated with LRI and leaf bulliform area,and wasalso associated with leaf abaxial or adaxial rolling.These results confirmed that Roc5 controls leaf rolling in a dosage-dependent manner.Bioinformatics analysis revealed a conserved 17-nt sequence(called the GU-rich element)in the 30-UTR of HD-GL2(Homeodomain-Glabra2)family genes including Roc5.Based on the model of this element in regulating mRNA stability in mammals,we speculate that the single nucleotide change in this element accounts for the higher expression level of Roc5 in the rl(t)mutant compared to the wild-type,which ultimately leads to adaxial rolling of the leaf.This discovery further enhances our knowledge of the molecular mechanisms underlying leaf rolling in rice.Lei Li Xiang Xue Zongxiang Chen Yafang Zhang Yuyin Ma Cunhong Pan Junkai Zhu Xuebiao Pan Shimin Zuo 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,25:4

5Recent advances in screening amino acid overproducers显示文摘Microbial fermentation has contributed to 80%of global amino acid production.The key to microbial fermentation is to obtain fermentation strains with high performance to produce target amino acids with a high yield.These strains are primarily derived from screening enormous mutant libraries.Therefore,a high-throughput,rapid,accurate,and universal screening strategy for amino acid overproducers has become a guarantee for ob-taining optional amino acid overproducers.In recent years,the rapid development of various novel screening strategies has been witnessed.However,proper analysis and discussion of these innovative technologies are lacking.Here we systematically reviewed recent advances in screening strategies:the auxotrophic-based strategy,the biosensor-based strategy,and the latest translation-based screening strategy.The design principle,application scope,working efficiency,screening accuracy,and universality of these strategies were discussed in detail.The potential for screening nonstandard amino acid overproducers was also analyzed.Guidance for the improvement of future screening strategies is provided in this review,which could expedite the reconstruction of amino acid overproducers and help promote the fermentation industry to reduce cost,increase yield,and improve quality.Junkai Tuo Said Nawab Xiaoyan Ma Yi-Xin Huo 2023Engineering Microbiology2023,3,1:0

8Engineering and Application of Pillar[6]arene Functionalized Chiral Surface in Selective Adsorption of R-Adrenaline显示文摘Chiral properties of biological surface is of importance as they dominate interactions with biomolecules(such as proteins,nucleic acids,hormones)in a living system.Inspired by this phenomenon,we designed and constructed a L-/D-N-acetyl-cysteine-pillar[6]arene functionalized Si surface(L-/D-NACP surface)for studying the influence of superficial chirality on selective adsorption of R-adrenaline.The fabricated chiral L-/D-NACP surface with consistency in hydrophilia and elementary composition exhibited a strong mirror-symmetric circular dichroism signal.In the adsorption study,the contact-angle of R-adrenaline droplet on D-NACP surface was more hydrophilic from macroscopical view,and the size and quantity of R-adrenaline aggregation on D-NACP surface was larger than L-NACP surface,implying selective adsorption of R-adrenaline appeared on the D-NACP surface.The possible mechanism was due to the stronger host-guest interaction between D-NACP and R-adrenaline,which facilitated the selective adsorption.Besides,the D-NACP surface with good selectivity can be used for chiral separation of racemic adrenaline.The results enhance the under-standing of hormones adsorption affected by surface chirality,and may provide some helpful inspiration for practical application of chiral surface.Ming Cheng Wen Gong Mingxiang Lu Junkai Ma Zhiyan Lu Haibing Li 2022Chinese Journal of Chemistry2022,40,8:0
9Linguistic expressions of despondency:an investigation of Sangness-related Chinese catchwords显示文摘Catchwords,as important social and cultural symbols,are the barometer of a country's society and culture.In China,various catchwords are coined and used every year by Chinese people,especially the young.Of these catchwords,one particular type that expresses despondency or Sangness is increasingly gaining scholarly attention.This study takes a socio-linguistic approach to investigating the most frequently used Sangness-related Chinese catchwords in the past ten years.By examining the annual top ten catchwords selected by Biting Words and Chewing Words between 2013 and 2022,it finds that the most frequently used Sangness-related Chinese catchwords in the past decade have been(1)Ge You Slouch,(2)feeling awful and wanting to cry,(3)Buddha-like,(4)996 work schedule,(5)life is too hard for me,(6)laborer,(7)involution,(8)lying flat,and(9)mental internal friction.These catchwords mainly serve the functions of deconstructing mainstream values,expressing self-mockery,and seeking value recognition.The development of these Sangness-related catchwords is characterized by an increasing diversity and a strongerapplicability.Yehui Song Junkai Xue Yali Ma Junhua Mo 2023Language and Semiotic Studies2023,9,3:0
