| 1 | Application of the sodium hyaluronate-CNTF scaffolds in repairing adult rat spinal cord injury and facilitating neural network formation显示文摘The present study aimed to explore the potential of the sodium hyaluronate-CNTF (ciliary neurotrophic factor) scaffold in activating endogenous neurogenesis and facilitating neural network re-formation after the adult rat spinal cord injury (SCI). After completely cutting and removing a 5-mm adult rat T8 segment, a sodium hyaluronate-CNTF scaffold was implanted into the lesion area. Dil tracing and immunofluorescence staining were used to observe the proliferation, differentiation and integration of neural stem cells (NSCs) after SCI. A planar multielectrode dish system (MED64) was used to test the electrophysiological characteristics of the regenerated neural network in the lesioned area. Electrophysiology and behavior evaluation were used to evaluate functional recovery of paraplegic rat hindlimbs. The Dil tracing and immunofluorescence results suggest that the sodium hyaluronate-CNTF scaffold could activate the NSCs originating from the spinal cord ependymal, and facilitate their migration to the lesion area and differentiation into mature neurons, which were capable of forming synaptic contact and receiving glutamatergic excitatory synaptic input. The MED64 results suggest that functional synapsis could be established among regenerated neurons as well as between regenerated neurons and the host tissue, which has been evidenced to be glutamatergic excitatory synapsis. The electrophysiology and behavior evaluation results indicate that the paraplegic rats’ sensory and motor functions were recovered in some degree. | 4 | Retrieval of aerosol optical constants from angular light-scattering measurement signals using principal component analysis approach显示文摘An angular light-scattering measurement (ALSM) method combined with the probability density function-bmsed ant colony optimization algorithm (PDF-ACO) is proposed for retrieval of aerosol optical constants. An optimal measurement angle selection method using a principal component analysis (PCA) approach is developed to improve retrieval accuracy. Results indicate that optimized angle selection can ensure retrieval accuracy. The aerosol optical constants over Beijing, China, which are available from the Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET), are then rec on structed. The ALSM method's con vergence properties are also studied via comparison w让h those of the light reflection-transmittance measurement (LRTM) method. Results retrieved using the ALSM method show better convergence speed and accuracy than those retrieved using the LRTM method because the ALSM method does not require solution of the radiative transfer equation and allows more useful signals to be obtained. Additionally, the inverse accuracy of the refractive index results is better than that of the absorption index results;this is attributed to differences between the monodromic characteristics of the refractive index and absorption index retrieval results. | 6 | Young Yum pill inhibits inflammatory mediators and nuclear factor-kappa B signaling in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Young Yum pill (YYP) on inflammatory mediators in cultured RAW 264.7 cells and elucidate the nuclear factor- kappa B (NF-κB)-related mechanism behind the action. METHODS: YYP was extracted with 95% ethanol Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages were used to evaluate the effect of YYP on inflammatory mediators. Production of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) were measured by Griess test and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, respectively. The levels of genes and proteins involved in the generation of inflammatory mediators were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting, respectively. RESULTS: YYP dose-dependently suppressed LPS-induced production of NO, PGE2 and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), and elevation of mRNA and protein levels of inducible NO synthase and cyclooxygenase- 2 in RAW 264.7 macrophages. These observations were associated with decreased NF-κB p65 phosphorylation and nuclear localization, enhanced Akt (protein kinase B) phosphorylation, as well as reduced inhibitor of κB (IκB)α degradation and IκB kinase α/β phosphorylation. | 8 | Experimental Study on Impingement and Film Overall Cooling Characteristics of Turbine Shroud显示文摘Based on the variable characteristics of the actual operating conditions of the turbine shroud and the purpose of improving the cooling effect of the turbine shroud,this paper builds a test system of the impingement-film cooling shroud with two gas inlet angles(90°,167°).The effects of film cooling hole arrangement,gas inlet angle,blowing ratio(0.7,1.0,1.5,2.0,2.5,3.0)and temperature ratio(1.2,1.3,1.4,1.5,1.6)on the cooling characteristics of the impingement-film cooling shroud were experimentally studied by infrared temperature measurement technology,especially the effects of gas inlet angle and temperature ratio.The results showed that the film covering effect of the film cooling hole vertical or the same direction of the high-temperature gas incoming flow is better than the film covering effect of the reverse direction with the incoming flow,and the optimal arrangement of film cooling holes can improve the cooling effectiveness of the shroud.Compared with 90°intake gas,the film coverage area on the shroud surface of the 167°intake gas is expanded,and the surface average overall cooling effectiveness is increased by 1.03%to 12.6%.The overall cooling effectiveness of turbine shroud increases with the increase of blowing ratio,which increases the flow rate and pressure of cooling gas,and the corresponding increase rate is between 1.04%and 9.96%.However,the increase in the temperature ratio increases the mainstream heating capacity,resulting in a decrease in the cooling effectiveness of the shroud,with a maximum reduction rate of 11.04%. | LI Ziqiang WANG Longfei MAO Junkui BI Shuai WANG Feilong | 2022 | Journal of Thermal Science2022,31,1: | 1 |

| 11 | Mechanisms regulating cerebral hypoperfusion in cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy显示文摘Cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) is a leading cause of stroke and dementia. As the most common type of inherited CSVD, cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL) is characterized by the NOTCH3 gene mutation which leads to Notch3 ectodomain deposition and extracellular matrix aggregation around the small vessels. It further causes smooth muscle cell degeneration and small vessel arteriopathy in the central nervous system. Compromised cerebral blood flow occurs in the early stage of CADASIL and is associated with white matter hyperintensity, the typical neuroimaging pathology of CADASIL. This suggests that cerebral hypoperfusion may play an important role in the pathogenesis of CADASIL. However, the mechanistic linkage between NOTCH3 mutation and cerebral hypoperfusion remains unknown. | 14 | Enhancement of oxygen evolution reaction activity and durability of Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ by CO2 thermal treatment显示文摘This work demonstrates that in situ formation of carbonate layer on the surface of Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ(BSCF)obtained by exposure to CO2 during heating between 500℃ and 700℃ can provide enhanced oxygen evolution reaction(OER)performance and durability in an alkaline solution relative to the original BSCF.Three temperatures,i.e., 500℃,600℃,and 700℃ were chosen to perform the CO2 thermal treatment,resulting into BSCF-500,BSCF-600,and BSCF-700 samples.The OER was enhanced in the order of BSCF-500< BSCF-700 < BSCF-600. BSCF-600 showed the best OER performance, i.e., a low overpotential of 0.36 V required to attain 10 mA cm^-2 current density as well as a mass activity of 74.14 Agcmcat-1 and a specific activity of 5.04 mA cmcat-2 at an overpotential of 0.4 V. The OER performance durability of BSCF-600 was highlighted by its ability to maintain a stable potential of around 1.61 V vs. RHE (RHE: reversible hydrogen electrode) when charged at a constant current density of 10 mA cm^-2 throughout the 800 min continuous chronopotentiometry test. The enhanced OER performance for BSCF-600 relative to the original BSCF is attributed to three factors:(i) higher electrochemically active surface area;(ii) faster charge transfer rate and higher electrical conductivity;and (iii) modified oxidation state of cobalt ions. | 18 | Cloning and functional research of renal cell carcinoma related novel gene——GYLZ-RCC18显示文摘After the renal cell carcinoma related novel gene fragment GYLZ-RCC18 was cloned by using suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH), we used the SMART RACE technology to clone the full length of GYLZ-RCC18 and performed chromosome location by the FISH method. RT-PCR was used to detect the expression of the first reading frame of GYLZ-RCC18 in different stages and grades of renal cell carcinoma tissue and other tissues. Also we trans-fected the antisense oligonucleotide of GYLZ-RCC18 to renal cell carcinoma cell line GRC-1, and analyzed the proliferation activity, growth speed, apoptosis and mortality changes in GRC-1. The results show that the full length of GYLZ-RCC18 (GenBank accession No.: BE825133) cDNA is about 3.5 kb long which is located at No. 14 chromosome. GYLZ-RCC18 has a higher expression in higher grades and stages of renal cell carcinoma than in the lower ones. The expression of GYLZ-RCC18 in renal cell carcinoma was much higher than that in normal kidney and other tissues.
