1Dual-band and ultra-broadband photonic spin-orbit interaction for electromagnetic shaping based on single-layer silicon metasurfaces显示文摘Achieving electromagnetic wave scattering manipulation in the multispectral and broad operation band has been a long pursuit in stealth applications. Here, we present an approach by using single-layer metasurfaces composed of space-variant amorphous silicon ridges tiled on a metallic mirror, to generate high-efficiency dual-band and ultra-wideband photonic spin-orbit interaction and geometric phase. Two scattering engineered metasurfaces have been designed to reduce specular reflection;the first one can suppress both specular reflectances at 1.05–1.08 μm and 5–12 μm below 10%. The second one is designed for an ultra-broadband of 4.6–14 μm, which is actually implemented by cleverly connecting two bands of 4.6–6.1 μm and 6.1–14 μm. Furthermore, the presented structures exhibit low thermal emission at the same time due to the low absorption loss of silicon in the infrared spectrum, which can be regarded as an achievement of laser–infrared compatible camouflage.We believe the proposed strategy may open a new route to implement multispectral electromagnetic modulation and multiphysical engineering applications.XIN XIE MINGBO PU XIONG LI KAIPENG LIU JINJIN JIN XIAOLIANG MA XIANGANG LUO 2019Photonics Research2019,7,5:2

7Improved in situ sequencing for high-resolution targeted spatial transcriptomic analysis in tissue sections显示文摘Spatial transcriptomics enables the study of localization-indexed gene expression activity in tissues,providing the transcriptional landscape that in turn indicates the potential regulatory networks of gene expression.In situ sequencing(ISS)is a targeted spatial transcriptomic technique,based on padlock probe and rolling circle amplification combined with next-generation sequencing chemistry,for highly multiplexed in situ gene expression profiling.Here,we present improved in situ sequencing(IISS)that exploits a new probing and barcoding approach,combined with advanced image analysis pipelines for high-resolution targeted spatial gene expression profiling.We develop an improved combinatorial probe anchor ligation chemistry using a 2-base encoding strategy for barcode interrogation.The new encoding strategy results in higher signal intensity as well as improved specificity for in situ sequencing,while maintaining a streamlined analysis pipeline for targeted spatial transcriptomics.We show that IISS can be applied to both fresh frozen tissue and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections for single-cell level spatial gene expression analysis,based on which the developmental trajectory and cell-cell communication networks can also be constructed.Xinbin Tang Jiayu Chen Xinya Zhang Xuzhu Liu Zhaoxiang Xie Kaipeng Wei Jianlong Qiu Weiyan Ma Chen Lin Rongqin Ke 2023Journal of Genetics and Genomics2023,50,9:1

9Alginate hydrogel cross-linked by Ca^(2+)to promote spinal cord neural stem/progenitor cell differentiation and functional recovery after a spinal cord injuryhh显示文摘Alginate capillary hydrogels seeded with differentiated cells can fill the lesion cavity and promote axonal regeneration after grafting into the injured spinal cord.Neural stem/progenitor cells(NSPCs)can potentially repair the spinal cord;however,effects of alginate hydrogels(AHs)on NSPCs remain unknown.In this study,we fabricated AHs cross-linked by Ca^(2+)and seeded hydrogels with rat embryonic day 14 NSPCs.Immunocytochemistry and electron microscopy show that NSPCs survive,proliferate and differentiate into neurons in vitro within the capillaries.After transplantation into an acute T8 complete spinal cord transection site in adult rats,approximately one-third(38.3%)of grafted cells survive and differentiate into neurons(40.7%),astrocytes(26.6%)and oligodendrocytes(28.4%)at 8weeks post-grafting.NSPCs promote the growth of host axons within the capillaries in a time-dependent manner.Host axons make synapse-like contacts with NSPC-derived neurons within the hydrogel channels,and graft-derived axons extend into the host white and gray matter making putative synapses.This is paralleled by improved electrophysiological conductivity across the lesion and partial hindlimb locomotor recovery.Jun Zhou Yaqi Wu Zhijian Tang Kaipeng Zou Juan Chen Zuowei Lei Xueyan Wan Yanchao Liu Huaqiu Zhang Yu Wang Armin Blesch Ting Lei Shengwen Liu 2022Regenerative Biomaterials2022,9,1:1
10A genetic variant in pseudogene E2F3P1 contributes to prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Certain pseudogenes may regulate their protein-coding cousins by competing for miRNAs and play an active biological role in cancer.However,few studies have focused on the association of genetic variations in pseudogenes with cancer prognosis.We selected six potentially functional single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) in cancerrelated pseudogenes,and performed a case-only study to assess the association between those SNPs and the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) in 331 HBV-positive HCC patients without surgical treatment.Log-rank test and Cox proportional hazard models were used for survival analysis.We found that the A allele of rs9909601 in E2F3P1was significantly associated with a better prognosis compared with the G allele[adjusted hazard ratio(HR) = 0.69,95%confidence interval(CI) = 0.56-0.86,P = 0.001].Additionally,this protective effect was more predominant for patients without chemotherapy and transcatheter hepatic arterial chemoembolization(TACE) treatment.Interestingly,we also detected a statistically significant multiplicative interaction between genotypes of rs9909601 and chemotherapy or TACE status on HCC survival(P for multiplicative interaction < 0.001).These findings indicate that rs9909601 in the pseudogene E2F3P1 may be a genetic marker for HCC prognosis in Chinese.Yun Pan Chongqi Sun Mingde Huang Yao Liu Fuzhen Qi Li Liu Juan Wen Jibin Liu Kaipeng Xie Hongxia Ma Zhibin Hu Hongbing Shen 2014The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,3:1
11Genetic variants in pseudogene E2F3P1 confer risk for HBV-related hepatocellular carcinoma in a Chinese population显示文摘Recent studies showed that pseudogenes can regulate the expression of their coding gene partners by competing for miRNAs. The E2F family plays a crucial role in the control of cell cycle checkpoint. E2F3P1 is a pseudogene of E2F3. Few studies focused on genetic variations on pseudogenes. In this study, we performed a case-control study to assess the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in E2F3P1 and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) risk in 1050 hepatitis B virus (HBV)-positive HCC cases and 1050 chronic HBV carriers. Logistic regression analysis was applied to estimate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the associations between genotypes and HCC risk. We found that the variant CT/TT genotypes of rs1838149 were associated with a significantly decreased risk of HCC (adjusted OR=0.66, 95% CIs=0.51-0.86, P=0.002) compared to those with wildtype CC homozygote. Furthermore, the AA genotype of rs9909601 had an increased HCC risk with an adjusted OR of 1.41 (95% CIs=1.07-1.86), and the A allele of rs9909601 was significantly associated with HCC risk compared to those with the G allele (adjusted OR=1.17, 95% CIs=1.03-1.33, P=0.017). 12RFCNet:Remote Sensing Image Super-Resolution Using Residual Feature Calibration Network显示文摘In the field of single remote sensing image Super-Resolution(SR),deep Convolutional Neural Networks(CNNs)have achieved top performance.To further enhance convolutional module performance in processing remote sensing images,we construct an efficient residual feature calibration block to generate expressive features.After harvesting residual features,we first divide them into two parts along the channel dimension.One part flows to the Self-Calibrated Convolution(SCC)to be further refined,and the other part is rescaled by the proposed Two-Path Channel Attention(TPCA)mechanism.SCC corrects local features according to their expressions under the deep receptive field,so that the features can be refined without increasing the number of calculations.The proposed TPCA uses the means and variances of feature maps to obtain accurate channel attention vectors.Moreover,a region-level nonlocal operation is introduced to capture long-distance spatial contextual information by exploring pixel dependencies at the region level.Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed residual feature calibration network is superior to other SR methods in terms of quantitative metrics and visual quality.Yuan Xue Liangliang Li Zheyuan Wang Chenchen Jiang Minqin Liu Jiawen Wang Kaipeng Sun Hongbing Ma 2023Tsinghua Science and Technology2023,28,3:0
