| 1 | Late Holocene hydroclimatic variations and possible forcing mechanisms over the eastern Central Asia显示文摘Hydroclimatic variations over the eastern Central Asia are highly sensitive to changes in hemispheric-scale atmospheric circulation systems. To fully understand the long-term variability and relationship between hydroclimate and atmospheric circulation system, we present a high-resolution lascustrine record of late Holocene hydroclimate from Lake Sayram, Central Tianshan Mountains, China, based on the total organic carbon, total nitrogen, and carbonate contents, carbon/nitrogen ratios, and grain size. Our results reveal four periods of substantially increased precipitation at the interval of 4000–3780, 3590–3210, 2800–2160, and 890–280 cal yr BP, and one period of slightly increased precipitation from 1700–1370 cal yr BP. These wetter periods broadly coincide with those identified in other records from the mid-latitude Westerlies-dominated eastern Central Asia, including the northern Tibetan Plateau. As such, a similar hydroclimatic pattern existed over this entire region during the late Holocene. Based on a close similarity of our record with reconstruction of North Atlantic Oscillation indices and solar irradiance, we propose that decreased solar irradiance and southern migration of the entire circum-North Atlantic circulation system, particularly the main pathway of the mid-latitude Westerlies, significantly influenced hydroclimate in eastern Central Asia during the late Holocene. | 2 | Novel internal photoemission in manganite/ZnO heterostructure显示文摘A novel photovoltaic phenomenon of internal photoemission was found in a low cost manganite La0.62Ca0.29K 0.09MnO3 (LCKMO)/zinc oxide (ZnO) heterojunction bilayers grown on ITO substrate by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) at relative low growth temperature. The heterostructure ITO/LCKMO/ZnO/Al exhibits reproducible rectifying characteristics and light current under continuous laser irradiation of = 325 nm. We report here the influence of LCKMO/ZnO bilayers' thickness on the electrical and photoelectric properties of the heterostructure at room temperature. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) is achieved when the LCKMO and ZnO layers are thin enough or the full space charge layer is sufficient. We obtained the maximum value of PCE of 0.0145% when the thicknesses of LCKMO and ZnO layers are 25 and 150 nm, respectively. | 3 | Injectable silk/hydroxyapatite nanocomposite hydrogels with vascularization capacity for bone regeneration显示文摘Localized and sustained osteogenic-angiogenic stimulation to bone defects is critical for effective bone repair.Here,desferrioxamine(DFO)was loaded on silk fibroin nanofibers and blended with hydroxyapatite nanorods(HA),forming injectable DFO-loaded silk fibroin-HA nanocomposite hydrogels.The composite hydrogels remained homogeneous distribution of HA with high ratio(60%)and also higher stiffness than that of pure silk fibroin nanofiber hydrogels,which provided stable osteogenic stimulation niches for tissue regeneration.Without the scarify of injectability,the hydrogels achieved slow delivery of DFO for above 60 days,resulting in suitable angiogenesis in vitro and in vivo and better osteogenesis than DFO-free systems.Compared to previous injectable silk fibroin-HA hydrogels,the introduction of vascularization capacity further stimulated the osteogenic differentiation of stem cells and accelerated new bone formation.Quicker and better bone healing were detected at defect sites after the injection of DFO-loaded nanocomposite hydrogels,indicating the effective synergistic effect of osteogenic and angiogenic cues.This work provides a simple and effective strategy of introducing angiogenic cues to bone matrices.We believe that the injectable nanocomposite hydrogels are suitable for the regeneration of bone tissues. | Keke Wang Weinan Cheng Zhaozhao Ding Gang Xu Xin Zheng Meirong Li Guozhong Lu Qiang Lu | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,4: | 2 |
