1The efficacy and safety of endovascular recanalization of occluded large cerebral arteries during the subacute phase of cerebral infarction:a case series report显示文摘background Intravenous tissue plasminogen activator with or without mechanical thrombectomy during the acute phase are approved therapies for ischaemic stroke.Due to the short treatment time window(<6 hours)and often treatment failure,these patients would still have an intracranial arterial occlusion(IAO).It is unclear whether these patients can benefit from subsequent interventional recanalizationof their occluded artery in the subacute phase.In this retrospective study,we have examined the efficacy and safety in patients who have received either percutaneous transluminal angioplasty(PTA)or percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and stenting(PTAS)for IAO in the subacute phase of their stroke.Methods Patients with subacute symptomatic ischaemic stroke caused by IAO were assessed to identify the responsible artery and low perfusion areas by CT angiography,MR angiography or digital subtraction angiography.In eligible patients,a PTA or PTAS was performed to reopen the occluded artery.Regular antithrombotic therapy,use of statins,control of risk factors and rehabilitation therapy were prescribed after the procedure.All patients had regular follow-up up to 12 months.results PTA or PTAS was performed in 16 patients with cerebral infarction caused by IAO in the subacute phase.After the procedure,12 cases were recanalized,two were partially recanalized and two failed to open.One patient with left C6 segment occlusion of the carotid artery had a central retinal artery embolism after PTAS.The perioperative adverse events were 6.25%.At 3 months,the distribution of modified Rankin scale scores was 0(seven cases),1(three cases),2(five cases)and 3(one case).conclusion Selective PTA or PTAS could be performed in ischaemic stroke patients with a small infarct size and large area of hypoperfusion from an occluded large cerebral artery after the acute phase.It may improve neurological dysfunction and reduce the incidence of disability.Kangning Chen Xianhua Hou Zhenhua Zhou Guangjian Li Qu Liu Li Gui Jun Hu Shugui Shi 2017Stroke & Vascular Neurology2017,2,3:41
2Stenting for symptomatic intracranial arterial stenosis in China:1-year outcome of a multicentre registry study显示文摘background and purpose A multicentre prospective registry study of individually tailored stenting for a patient with symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis(ICAS)combined with poor collaterals in China showed that the short-term safety and efficacy of stenting was acceptable.However,it remained uncertain whether the low event rate could be of a long term.We reported the 1-year outcome of this registry study to evaluate the long-term efficacy of individually tailored stenting for patients with severe symptomatic ICAS combined with poor collaterals.Methods Patients with symptomatic ICAS caused by 70%-99% stenosis located at the intracranial internal carotid,middle cerebral,intracranial vertebral or basilar arteries combined with poor collaterals were enrolled.Balloon-mounted stent or balloon plus self-expanding stent were selected based on the ease of vascular access and lesion morphology determined by the operators.The primary outcome was the rate of 30-day stroke,transient ischaemic attack and death,and 12-month ischaemic stroke within the same vascular territory,haemorrhagic stroke and vascular death after stenting.results From September 2013 to January 2015,300 patients(ages 58.3±9.78 years)were recruited.Among them,159 patients were treated with balloon-mounted stent and 141 with balloon plus self-expanding stent.During the 1-year follow-up,25 patients had a primary end point event.The probability of primary outcome at 1 year was 8.1%(95% CI 5.3% to 11.7%).In 76 patients with digital subtraction angiography follow-up,27.6%(21/76)had re-stenosis≥50% and 18.4%(14/76)had re-stenosis≥70%.No baseline characteristic was associated with the primary outcome.Conclusion The event rate remains low over 1 year of individually tailored stenting for patients with severe symptomatic ICAS combined with poor collaterals.Further randomised trial of comparing individually tailored stenting with best medical therapy is needed.Ning Ma Yong Zhang Jie Shuai Changchun Jiang Qiyi Zhu Kangning Chen Li Liu Baomin Li Xiangqun Shi Lianbo Gao Yajie Liu Feng Wang Yongli Li Tieyan Liu Hongbo Zheng Dapeng Mo Feng Gao Yilong Wang Yongjun Wang Lei Feng Zhongrong Miao 2018Stroke & Vascular Neurology2018,3,3:29
3Sisyphus effects in hydrogen electrochemistry on metal silicides enabled by silicene subunit edge显示文摘Nonmetal elements strictly govern the electrochemical performance of molybdenum compounds.Yet,the exact role played by nonmetals during electrocatalysis remains largely obscure.With intermetallic MoSi_2comprising silicene subunits,we present an unprecedented hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)behavior in aqueous alkaline solution.Under continuous operation,the HER activity of MoSi_2shows a more than one order of magnitude improvement in current density from 1.1 to 21.5 mA cm^(à2)at 0.4 V overpotential.Meanwhile,this activation behavior is highly reversible,such that voltage withdrawal leads to catalyst inactivation but another operation causes reactivation.Thus,the system shows dynamics strikingly analogous to the legendary Sisyphus’labor,which drops and recovers in a stepwise manner repeatedly,but never succeeds in reaching the top of the mountain.Isomorphic WSi_2behaves almost the same as MoSi_2,whereas other metal silicides with silicyne subunits,including CrSi_2and TaSi_2,do not exhibit any anomalous behavior.A thin amorphous shell of MoSi_2is observed after reaction,within which the Si remains partially oxidized while the oxidation state of Mo is basically unchanged.First-principles calculations further reveal that the adsorption of hydroxide ions on silicene subunit edges and the subsequent Si vacancy formation in MoSi_2jointly lead to the anomalous HER kinetics of the adjacent Mo active centers.This work demonstrates that the role of nonmetal varies dramatically with the electronic and crystallographic structures of silicides and that silicene structural subunit may serve as a promoter for boosting HER in alkaline media.Zechao Zhuang Yong Li Jiazhao Huang Zilan Li Kangning Zhao Yunlong Zhao Lin Xu Liang Zhou Lyudmila V. 7Rechargeable solid-state Li-air batteries: a status report显示文摘The theoretical specific energy of lithium-air battery is as high as 3436 Wh·kg^(-1), and the possible achieved value may reach 600–700 Wh·kg^(-1), which enables this energy storage system as an important propulsion power sources for electric vehicles with the driving range of 500–800 km. Currently, Li-air batteries are facing main challenges at stability, efficiency, applicability and safety. In particular, from a practical view of point, the Li-air batteries should be operated directly in ambient air. Solid-state battery system is the best avenue to eventually solve these main issues. At the heart of the solid state, Li-air technology is the solid-state Li^+-conducting ceramic material. Developing solid-state lithium-air batteries(SSLAB) can solve the problem of applicability fundamentally and circumvent the safety issues completely, and it is also an important avenue to improve the stability of the battery system. In this paper, we provide a systematical review of the progress in the cell construction,the regulation of the electrode/electrolyte interface, the cell assembly, the electrochemical performance and the mechanism for the SSLAB. In every section, the contributions of the recent research progress in the main challenges and the remained questions will be commented. 8Optimal operation strategy for distributed battery aggregator providing energy and ancillary services显示文摘The high penetration of distributed renewable energy raises a higher concern for the safe and economic operation of the smart grid. Distributed batteries equipped in demand-side can not only contribute to the reliability and security of the grid, but also make profits by participating in the electricity market, especially when distributed batteries are combined and operated by an aggregator.Considering the well-operated mechanism of performance based regulation(PBR) in the U.S. electricity market, it becomes increasingly lucrative for batteries to participate not only in energy markets for energy arbitrage, but also in ancillary service markets to provide regulation and peakload shaving services. In this study, distributed batteries are operated and coordinated by the aggregator, which simultaneously submits offers to the energy and the ancillary service markets as an individual entity. An optimaldecision model is formulated for the aggregator to determine the operation and bidding strategy for the distributed batteries by considering the characteristics of batteries,including the terms of capacity, efficiency and degradation cost. 9Bushen Yisui Capsule ameliorates axonal injury in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis显示文摘A preliminary clinical study by our group demonstrated Bushen Yisui Capsule(formerly called Erhuang Formula)in combination with conventional therapy is an effective prescription for the treatment of multiple sclerosis.However,its effect on axonal injury during early multiple sclerosis remains unclear.In this study,a MOG35–55-immunized C57BL/6 mouse model of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis was intragastrically administered Bushen Yisui Capsule.The results showed that Bushen Yisui Capsule effectively improved clinical symptoms and neurological function of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.In addition,amyloid precursor protein expression was down-regulated and microtubule-associated protein 2 was up-regulated.Experimental findings indicate that the disease-preventive mechanism of Bushen Yisui Capsule in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis was mediated by amelioration of axonal damage and promotion of regeneration.But the effects of the high-dose Bushen Yisui Capsule group was not better than that of the medium-dose and low-dose Bushen Yisui Capsule group in preventing neurological dysfunction.Ling Fang Qi Zheng Tao Yang Hui Zhao Qiuxia Zhang Kangning Li Li Zhou Haiyang Gong Yongping Fan Lei Wang 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,35:6

13An overview of disruptive technologies for aquaculture显示文摘The world wild fish stocks are being depleted in an ever-increasing speed.Aquaculture is the only way to ensure sufficient seafood for the world.Conventional aquaculture can be traced back to 4000 years in China and has been very successful in the past three decades.However,aquaculture has faced serious challenges,including only a few improved species,labour-intensiveness,environmental pollution,diseases and lack of traceability of products.Aquaculture needs disruptive technologies to increase fish production.Novel and disruptive technologies,including genome editing,artificial intelligence,offshore farming,recirculating aquaculture systems,alternative proteins and oils to replace fish meals and fish oils,oral vaccination,blockchain for marketing and internet of things,may provide solutions for sustainable and profitable aquaculture.This review briefly introduces these emerging and disruptive technologies to open up a forum for an in-depth discussion on how to integrate these technologies into aquaculture to improve its sustainability and profitability.Kangning Yue Yubang Shen 2022Aquaculture and Fisheries2022,7,2:4
14Multi-sensor image registration by combining local self-similarity matching and mutual information显示文摘Automatic multi-sensor image registration is a challenging task in remote sensing.Conventional image registration algorithms may not be applicable when common underlying visual features are not distinct.In this paper,we propose a novel image registration approach that integrates local self-similarity (LSS)and mutual information (MI)for multi-sensor images with rigid/non- rigid radiometric and geometric distortions.LSS is a well- performing descriptor that captures common,local internal layout features for multi-sensor images,whereas MI focuses on global intensity relationships.First,potential control points are identified by using the Harris algorithm and screened based on the self-similarity of their local surrounding internal layouts.Second,a Bayesian prob- abilistic model for matching the ensemble of the LSS features is introduced.Third,a particle swarm optimization (PSO)algorithm is adopted to optimize the point and region correspondences for maximum self-similarity and MI and,ultimately,a robust mapping function.The proposed approach is compared with several conventional image registration algorithms that are based on the sum of squared differences (SSD),scale-invariant feature trans- forms (SIFT),and speeded-up robust features (SURF) through the experimental registration of pairs of Landsat TM,SPOT,and RADARSAT SAR images.The results demonstrate that the proposed approach is efficient and accurate.Xiaoping LIU Shuli CHEN Li ZHUO Jun LI Kangning HUANG 2018Frontiers of Earth Science2018,12,4:4
15Mechanism of Erhuang capsule for treatment of multiple sclerosis显示文摘Erhuang capsule,a typical formula based on traditional Chinese medicine theory,is widely used to ameliorate multiple sclerosis,inflammation and side effects of glucocorticoid treatment.Oligodendrocyte precursor cells are neural stem cells that are important for myelin repair and regeneration.In the present study,Erhuang capsule effectively improved clinical symptoms and neurological function scores,reduced mortality and promoted recovery of neurological functions of mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.The mechanism of action involved significant increases in oligodendrocyte precursor cell proliferation in specific regions of the brain and spinal cord,increased oligodendrocyte lineage gene 2 expression and enhanced oligodendrocyte precursor cell differentiation.Kangning Li Yongping Fan Tao Yang Lei Wang 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,6:3
16Protective effect of Tanreqing injection on axon myelin damage in the brain of mouse model for experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of Tanreqing injection on axon myelin in the mouse brain of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE).METHODS: An EAE model was established by myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein(MOG)35-55 immunization in C57BL/6 mice. Mice were randomly divided into the following groups: normal, model,prednisone acetate(PA)(6 mg/kg), Tanreqing high dose(5.14 m L/kg), Tanreqing low dose(2.57 m L/kg). On the day of immunization, both Tanreqing groups were treated by intraperitoneal injection,with the PA group treated by intragastrical perfusion after T cell response, and the other groups treated with saline. Changes in body weight, neurological deficit score, incidence rate, mortality rate,and course of disease were observed for all mice.Brain tissue was isolated and stained with hematoxylin-eosin, and pathological investigations performed to evaluate axon myelin damage by transmission electron microscopy(TEM). Myelin basic protein and microtubule associated protein-2 were analyzed by immunohistochemistry.RESULTS: Tanreqing injection significantly prolonged EAE latency and decreased the neurological deficit score, alleviated infiltration of inflammatory cells in the focus area, up-regulated hippocampal MBP expression at the acute stage and the remission stage, and increased microtubule associated protein-2 expression in the EAE brain to varying degrees in the acute stage. 17Layered MoS2@graphene functionalized with nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots as an enhanced electrochemical hydrogen evolution catalyst显示文摘A novel three-dimensional (3D) layered MoS2@graphene functionalized with nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots (MoS2@N-GQDs-GR) composites as an enhanced electrochemical hydrogen evolution catalyst. The few layered MoS2 nanoflowers supported on N-GQDs-GR surface were elaborately fabricated by one-pot hydrothermal method, which MoS2 and N-GQDs-GR exist in a bonding manner of Mo-N. In addition, due to the layered MoS2 sheet edge exposes more hydrogen evolution active sites and N-GQDs-GR have high conductivity, the composites exhibit prominent electrocatalytic activity with a low overpotential 99 mV, a small Tafel slope 49.3 mV/dec. 18Blue LED-pumped intense short-wave infrared luminescence based on Cr^(3+)-Yb^(3+)-co-doped phosphors显示文摘The growing demand for spectroscopy applications in the areas of agriculture,retail and healthcare has led to extensive research on infrared light sources.The ability of phosphors to absorb blue light from commercial LED and convert the excitation energy into long-wavelength infrared luminescence is crucial for the design of cost-effective and high-performance phosphor-converted infrared LEDs.However,the lack of ideal blue-pumped short-wave infrared(SWIR)phosphors with an emission peak longer than 900 nm greatly limits the development of SWIR LEDs using light converter technology.Here we have developed a series of SWIR-emitting materials with high luminescence efficiency and excellent thermal stability by co-doping Cr^(3+)-Yb^(3+) ion pairs into Lu_(0.2)Sc_(0.8)BO_(3) host materials.Benefitting from strong light absorption of Cr^(3+) in the blue waveband and very efficient Cr^(3+)→Yb^(3+) energy transfer,the as-synthesized Lu_(0.2)Sc_(0.8)BO_(3):Cr^(3+),Yb^(3+) phosphor emits intense SWIR light in the 900-1200 nm from Yb^(3+) under excitation with blue light at~460 nm.The optimized phosphor presents an internal quantum yield of 73.6%and the SWIR luminescence intensity at 100℃can still keep 88.4%of the starting value at 25℃.SWIR LED prototype device based on Lu0.2Sc0.8BO3∶Cr^(3+)Yb^(3+) phosphor exhibits exceptional luminescence performance,delivering SWIR radiant power of 18.4 mW with 9.3%of blue-to-SWIR power conversion efficiency and 5.0%of electricity-to-SWIR light energy conversion efficiency at 120 mA driving current.Moreover,under the illumination of high-power SWIR LED,covert information identification and night vision lighting have been realized,demonstrating a very bright prospect for practical applications.Yan Zhang Shihai Miao Yanjie Liang Chao Liang Dongxun Chen Xihui Shan Kangning Sun Xiao-Jun Wang 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,6:3
19Impact of time lags on diurnal estimates of canopy transpiration and canopy conductance from sap-flow measurements of Populus cathayana in the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Recently, canopy transpiration(Ec) has been often estimated by xylem sap-flow measurements. However, there is a significant time lag between sap flow measured at the base of the stem and canopy transpiration due to the capacitive exchange between the transpiration stream and stem water storage. Significant errors will be introduced in canopy conductance(gc) and canopy transpiration estimation if the time lag is neglected. In this study, a cross-correlation analysis was used to quantify the time lag, and the sap flowbased transpiration was measured to parameterize Jarvistype models of gcand thus to simulate Ecof Populus cathayana using the Penman–Monteith equation. The results indicate that solar radiation(Rs) and vapor pressure deficit(VPD) are not fully coincident with sap flow and have an obvious lag effect; the sap flow lags behind Rsand precedes VPD, and there is a 1-h time shift between Ecand sap flow in the 30-min interval data set. A parameterized Jarvis-type gc model is suitable to predict P. cathayana transpiration and explains more than 80% of the variation observed in gc, and the relative error was less than 25%, which shows a preferable simulation effect. The root mean square error(RMSEs)between the predicted and measured Ecwere 1.91 9 10-3(with the time lag) and 3.12 9 10-3cm h-1(without the time lag). 20Mechanics analysis of axisymmetric thin-walled part in warm sheet hydroforming显示文摘To obtain the influence of fluid pressure and temperature on warm hydroforming of5A06-O aluminum alloy sheet, the unified mechanics equilibrium equations, which take throughthickness normal stress and friction into account, were established in spherical coordinate system.The distribution of through-thickness normal stress in the thickness direction was determined. The relation between through-thickness normal stress and fluid pressure was also analyzed in different regions of cylindrical cup. Based on the method of subtracting one increasing function from another, the constitutive equation of 5A06-O applied to warm hydroforming was established and in a good agreement with uniaxial tensile data. Based on whether the thickness variation was taken into account, two mechanic models were established to do the comparative study. The results for the studied case show that the calculated stress values are pretty close according to the two models and consistent with results of finite element analysis; the thickness distribution in flange computed by the second model conforms to the experimental data.
